A Study on the Promotional Activities and Information Provision by Support Centers for Childcare: Focused on the Years 2019-2023 (육아종합지원센터 홍보 및 정보제공 사업 현황에 관한 연구: 2019년~2023년을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to provide essential foundational data for strengthening the primary roles and functions of Support Centers for Childcare (SCC) by analyzing the project status of promotional and information dissemination activities conducted over the past five years (2019-2023). The study results indicate that, in terms of promotion, the most common activity was the production of commemorative items, with text messaging being the primary promotional method. Promotional materials were predominantly distributed directly within the centers. Secondly, regarding information dissemination, job information was the most frequently provided content on the nationwide centers' websites, KakaoStory was the most utilized SNS platform, and newsletters were the most commonly produced and distributed publication form. Based on these findings, if the Support Centers for Childcare (SCC) efficiently manage their promotional and information dissemination strategies, they will be able to provide customized childcare support services that cater to the specific characteristics of each region in the future.

Current Status, Difficulties, and Support Needs in Operating Support Projects for Childcare in Daycare Centers in the Support Centers for Childcare during the COVID-19 Pandemic (코로나19 상황에서 육아종합지원센터 어린이집 지원사업 운영실태와 어려움 및 지원요구)

  • The objective of this study is to understand the operational status of the support projects for childcare in daycare centers operated by the Support Centers for Childcare(SCC) during the COVID-19 pandemic and find ways to improve and develop the project operation. To this end, data were collected and analyzed through in-depth interviews from the 1st week to the 4th week of February 2022 with six childcare agents in charge of the support projects for childcare in daycare centers in the SCC located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. As a result of the study, it was found that the demand for diversification of project operation methods, expansion of non-face-to-face education, individual consulting, and small-scale education increased while operating the support projects for childcare in daycare centers in the SCC during the COVID-19 pandemic. Operational difficulties were found to be a lack of ability to use media, the burden of coping with unpredictable situations, and insufficient communication between daycare centers and childcare policy institutions. As for the support needs, it was found that it is necessary to employ computer specialists, establish an environment for activating online education, and provide an efficient work delivery system in emergencies.

A Study on the Current Status of Community-Linked Projects in the Support Center for Childcare : Fousing on the Current Status of the 2018~2022 Projects (육아종합지원센터 지역사회 연계사업 현황에 관한 연구: 2018년~2022년 사업 현황을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to propose operational directions for establishing Support Centers for Childcare (SCC) as central institutions in local communities by examining the performance status of community-linked projects of SCC. To achieve this, an analysis of performance related to community-linked projects was conducted focusing on SCC activity reports from 2018 to 2022, encompassing the past five years. Upon examination of the analysis results, several findings emerged. Firstly, there was a substantial number of achievements with non-profit organizations and public institutions as the types of institutions involved in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with a predominant focus on educational and informational support within the MOU contents. Secondly, collaboration among institutions within the local community primarily centered around education and administrative support, with a significant portion of support activities being conducted through meetings. Thirdly, individual volunteer contributions were prevalent in events and administrative support, while volunteer efforts were notable in areas such as cleaning toys. Based on these findings, recommendations for community-linked projects of SCC were derived.
