Collaborative Communication, Information Sharing and Supply Chain Performance

  • Purpose: This study empirically investigates the effect of collaborative communication and information sharing on the supply chain performance of South Korean pharmaceutical companies. Specifically, it understands the importance collaborative communication and suggests a method for investigating communication in academic research on the pharmaceutical industry. Investigating this sector is crucial because the importance of the pharmaceutical industry is increasing globally against the background of the Covid-19 pandemic. Research design, data, and methodology: A questionnaire was administered to employees of South Korean pharmaceutical companies and 244 valid responses were used for the statistical analysis. Additionally, structural equation modeling was used to measure the relationships between the observed and latent variables. Results: Collaborative communication has a positive effect on information sharing. However, information sharing, unlike collaborative communication, does not exhibit a significant positive relationship with supply chain performance. These results indicate that it is important to communicate effectively in the supply chain rather than strive for the right type of information sharing. Conclusions: Consumers and retailers within the supply chain should continue to strive for candid communication. This study is meaningful, as it empirically tests the relationships between collaborative communication, information sharing, and supply chain performance in the South Korean pharmaceutical industry.

  • The primary objective of Supply Chain Management (SCM) is to optimize the cash, material and information flow for satisfying customer demands through coordinating the relationship between Supply Chain components such as suppliers, manufacturers, and inventories, etc. By Supply Chain Planning (SCP), operation tasks or goals, should be done in specific due date, are ordered to each SC component for achieving such objective. However, the achievement for operation tasks or goals is affected by uncertainties in SC. In general, reliability theory Is explained as the probability that a product or system will perform its specified function under prescribed conditions without failure for a specified period of time. Therefore, the reliability of SC can be defined as the probability that SC will satisfy customer demands until the specific due date. In this paper, a basic framework to evaluate reliability is respectively proposed as supply chain components, and then a overall framework to estimate the reliability for SC is also proposed.

  • The object of this study is the development of a measuring framework for supply chain flexibility. Prior to treat supply chain flexibility, time flexibility, quantity flexibility, and cash-flow flexibility for each company are newly suggested. Especially, all developed measures can deal with the monetary point of view through various cost functions. Then weights of time flexibility, quantity flexibility, cash-flow flexibility are determined to find the effect of the level of flexibility in the supply chain. This is based on the relationship between the ratio of profit to revenue and value of three developed flexibility measures. To find the level of weight for each flexibility measure, neural network theory is used. Then the forecasting of the ratio of profit to revenue for all companies in the next period can be available. Therefore, all companies in the supply chain can control their operating processes to improve flexibility.

  • Nowadays. risk management in the enterprise is considered as the important activity. Risk management ran be defined as the activity which is the analysis of risk factors related to damages, the estimation of the magnitude of risk, and the determination of investment to protect damage in a company. Initially, risk management was originated in financial areas. But the concept of risk has been expanded in the enterprise. Most companies have extended their activities in various areas. In this tendency, most activities must be considered in supply chain So, risk management must be ronsidered as the concept in the viewpoint of supply chain. The framework of risk management in supply chain and the related mathematical model are represented in this paper. Risk management in supply chain ran provide a positive opportunity not only to protect various damages, but also to improve the relationship between partners.

낭비수준과 외부위험에 영향을 받는 공급망 성과 평가 (Evaluation of Supply Chain Performance Affected by Waste Level and External Risk)

  • 과학기술의 발전과 수요의 변화로 인해 기업들은 빠른 환경변화에 직면하고 있다. 기업들은 이러한 환경변화에 대응하기 위해 공급망의 역량을 강화하기 위해서 노력하고 있다. 개선과정에서는 공급망의 참여자들 간의 협력적인 관계가 중요하며, 기업들은 내부적 활동을 다른 조직들에게 외주를 지고 프로세스 상에서의 낭비를 제거하기 위해 노력하고 있으며, 결과적으로 공급망은 지속적으로 간결하고 효과적인 상태가 되어간다. 본 연구는 외부 위험 하에서 낭비수준의 정도가 공급망 성과에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 한다. 본 연구의 결과는 낭비 수준이 공급망 성과에 음의 영향을 미치고 있음을 보여준다. 또한 공급망 성과에 대한 낭비수준의 영향을 조직이 직면한 위험상황에 따라서 다르게 나타나고 있음을 보여준다. 즉 낭비의 수준이 높을수록 위험은 낭비수준과 공급망 성과 사이에서 조절효과가 있다. 이는 공급망 성과를 개선하기 위해서 내부적 효율성을 강화하는 것이 중요하지만, 외부적 위험을 적절히 관리하는 것이 우선적으로 선행되어야 함을 시사한다.

Development of a Smart Supply-Chain Management Solution Based on Logistics Standards Utilizing Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things

  • In this study, the author introduces a supply-chain management (SCM) solution that connects suppliers, manufacturers, customers, and other companies within a transactional relationship to enable efficient inventory management and timely product supply, which ultimately maximizes corporate profits. This proposed solution exploits Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), which provide solutions to complex management issues generated by the broader market. The goal of the current study was to develop an advanced and intelligent smart SCM solution that complies with logistics standards, to enhance the visibility, safety, and efficiency of a supply chain made up of manufacturers and suppliers. This smart SCM solution aims at maximizing corporate profits through efficient inventory management and timely supply of products, and solves the complex management problems caused by operating within a wide range of markets.

멀티에이전트 기반 SCM 모델링 및 구현 (Multiagent Enabled Modeling and Implementation of SCM)

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose the modeling of multiagent based SCM and implement the prototype in the Internet environment. SCM process follows the supply chain operations reference (SCOR) model which has been suggested by Supply Chain Counsil. SCOR model has been positioned to become the industry standard for describing and improving operational process in SCM. Five basic processes, plan, source, matte, deliver and return are defined in the SCOR model, through which a company establishes its supply chain competitive objectives. A supply chain is a world wide network of suppliers, factories, warehouses, distribution centers and retailers through which raw materials are acquired, transformed or manufactured and delivered to customers by autonomous or semiautonomous process. With the pressure from the higher standard of customer compliance, a frequent model change, product complexity and globalization, the combination of supply chain process with an advanced infrastructure in terms of multiagent systems have been highly required. Since SCM is fundamentally concerned with coherence among multiple decision makers, a multiagent framework based on explicit communication between constituent agents such as suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors is a natural choice. Multiagent framework is defined to perform different activities within a supply chain. Dynamic and changing functions of supply chain can be dealt with multi-agent by cooperating with other agents. In the areas of inventory management, remote diagnostics, communications with field workers, order fulfillment including tracking and monitoring, stock visibility, real-time shop floor data collection, asset tracking and warehousing, customer-centric supply chain can be applied and implemented utilizing multiagent. In this paper, for the order processing event between the buyer and seller relationship, multiagent were defined corresponding to the SCOR process. A prototype system was developed and implemented on the actual TCP/IP environment for the purchase order processing event. The implementation result assures that multiagent based SCM enhances the speed, visibility, proactiveness and responsiveness of activities in the supply chain.

공급망 내 교섭지위와 기업 간 거래관계에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on Bargaining Positions and Exchange Relationship in Supply Chain Network)

  • 공급망 내에서의 교섭지위와 신뢰는 전략적으로 매우 중요한 이슈임에도 불구하고 교섭지위가 신뢰에 미치는 영향에 대해서는 논란이 많다. 본 연구는 교섭지위 및 신뢰에 관한 이론적 배경을 토대로 연구가설을 설정하고 공급망 참여기업에 대한 설문조사를 통해 타당성을 평가하는데 목적이 있다. 특히 교섭지위의 다양한 위상이 신뢰에 미치는 영향을 비선형함수로 설정하고 이를 반응곡선모형을 통해 분석해 본다는 데에 방법론적 차별성이 있다. 127개 기업의 설문조사 데이터를 통계적으로 분석한 결과, 구매기업이 인식하는 교섭지위는 공급자에 대한 신뢰요인에 대해 비선형적 영향을 미친다는 결과를 도출할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 공급망 내에서의 신뢰와 거래관계에 대한 통합적 시각을 제시했다는 측면에서 의의가 있을 것이다.

패션기업의 SCM환경에서 관계구축에 영향을 미치는 CRM요인 (The Effect of CRM Factors in Supply Chain Management of Fashion Apparel Company)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 패션기업의 SCM(Supply Chain Management) 환경에서 B2B 관계 구축에 영향을 미치는 CRM(Customer Relationshio Management)요소들을 밝히는 것이다. 특히 이러한 CRM 요소들이 기업간 권력구조와 관계없이 비즈니스의 모든 영역에서 유의한 효과가 있는지 탐색적으로 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 질적연구방법과 양적연구방법을 병행한 통합적 접근법을 이용하여 탐색적 연구가 진행되었다. 패션기업에 근무하는 전문가 5명을 대상으로 하여 심층면접을 실시하였으며 이를 통해 연구모형을 구성하였다. 그리고 설문지를 통하여 이러한 모델을 실증적으로 검증하기 위한 양적연구를 진행하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 패션기업 간 거래유형에 따라 장기지향적 관계/충성도, 전환 비용에 영향을 미치는 CRM의 모형이 구성되었다. 둘째, 구성된 연구모형을 양적으로 검증한 결과 변수 간 인과관계는 부분적으로 지지되었다. 구체적으로 기업간 관계구축에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 CRM요인은 매출보장과 특별할인이었다. 또한 고객화된 제품과 품질, 편의성, 경쟁력 있는 가격, 제품/시스템/서비스 개발과 같은 요소들이 관계 구축 및 전환비용 상승에 영향을 미칠 것으로 나타났다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 항공사 협력업체 조직구성원의 공급사슬관리 특성 인식이 관계만족에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 협업의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 설문조사기법을 통한 실증연구를 수행하였다. 연구결과, 정보공유를 제외한 신뢰구축, 몰입, 비젼공유 요인이 협업에 유의미한 선행요인으로 검증되었다. 또한 협업 요인을 관계만족 요인에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미침을 확인하였다. 부가적으로 협업의 매개효과 검정을 통해 공급사슬관리 특성 인식과 관계만족 사이에 매개효과가 있음을 확인하였다.
