A Study on Manufacturing Process Control and Monitoring System for Heat-Shrink-Tube Cutting Machine (열 수축 튜브 자동 절단 장치를 위한 공정제어 및 감시 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • In conventional cutting system of Heat-Shrink-Tube, workers operate cutting system after considering about length and quantity of heat-shrink-tube. So, not only work time and production cost is increased but also material is wasted because the data that workers have to consider is so much. In this paper, an effective cutting system of heat-shrink-tube was developed to reduce production cost, work time and waste of material. The cutting system consists of a supervisory computer installed inside a control room, a on-site computer installed on the work area, and a PLC system. In the developed system, a supervisory computer send work order to the on-site computer using LAN and the on-site computer operates the cutting system of the heatshrink-tube after it makes an array production order. Also, the on-site computer reports information to the supervisory computer when an accident happened.

  • In this paper, we show that supervisory control theory of discrete event systems can be applied to analyze the problem of power in political economy. For this purpose, we introduce the decision mechanism of control inputs based on power, and the consequent behavior of a supervised system. Specifically, this paper presents the notion of power-controllability as a necessary and sufficient condition to achieve a common control objective of competing groups (local controllers). If the power-controllability is met, a modular system controlled by local controllers with power functions is not deviated from a common control objective of them.

Optimal Control for Central Cooling Systems (중앙냉방시스템의 최적제어에 관한 연구)

  • Optimal supervisory control strategy for the set points of controlled variables in the central cooling system has been studied by computer simulation. A quadratic linear regression equation for predicting the total cooling system power in terms of the controlled and uncontrolled variables was developed using simulated data collected under different values of controlled and uncontrolled variables. The optimal set temperatures such as supply air temperature, chilled water temperature, and condenser water temperature, are determined such that energy consumption is minimized as uncontrolled variables, load, ambient wet bulb temperature, and sensible heat ratio, are changed. The chilled water loop pump and cooling tower fan speeds are controlled by the PID controller such that the supply air and condenser water set temperatures reach the set points designated by the optimal supervisory controller. The influences of the controlled variables on the total system and component power consumption was determined. It is possible to minimize total energy consumption by selecting the optimal set temperatures through the trade-off among the component powers. The total system power is minimized at lower supply, higher chilled water, and lower condenser water set temperature conditions.

  • This paper presents the problem of fault-tolerant robust supervisory control of timed discrete event systems (DESs). First the concept of faults is quantitatively defined in timed DESs and fault tolerable event sequences are presented as a desired legal language. Given a timed DES with model uncertainty, the conditions for the existence of a supervisor which always guarantees fault tolerable event sequences embedded in the system are derived.

  • Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition(SCADA) of electric power system refersto the system that displays, monitors and executes the control commands for remote electric power system. KNR's existing electric power control system is built on UNIX platform such that it costs more for system construction, and people with UNIX skills can only be an operator who controls and manages the system. Moreover, since the system is mainly operated in local offices, system operators must communicate with local operators to investigate the cause of the accident and react the accident every time the system fails. As a new integrated SCADA system is constructed, establishment of small-unit electric power control system, that alters local electric power control system in designated stations, is required. In this study, the electric power control system, which accommodates all functions of UNIX-based SCADA system and facilitates operation and even maintenance for local operators, is to be developed. In order to develop small-unit electric power control system, the industrial automation program, "Cimon", is used. The small-unit electric power control system that accommodatesRTU and newly installed electronic switchboard is being developed and tested at Chulam station of KNR.

  • In this paper, we proposed the representation method of specification and the control rules fork FMS by TPL. To increase productivity and resource utilization, it is desirable to have more active jobs in the system, but the more active jobs there are, the more easily deadlock occur. Therefore, it is very important that the real-time deadlock control to disable deadlock. In this paper, we performed the system modeling by the CROPN(Colored Resource -Oriented Petri Net) and the necessary -sufficient condition check to disable deadlock. We proposed the supervisory control system that can be the real-time monitoring for deadlock free through a necessary-sufficient condition by CROPN modelling, and designed the logic controller of the extended process using TPL.

  • In the distribution system, Change of system happens frequently. However, most of the relays are operated manually by a person or not changed when system changed. So, when fault happened, a case that relaydoes not act rapidly happens. Also, in current power system, digital relays are used because of digitization of relay. Digital relay has very many advantages than existing analog relay. One of these advantages is that communication is available and easily can make characteristic curve. If specific values are sent to a relay by communication, A relay can make suitable characteristic curve according to the value. In this paper, by using voltages and currents measured by relay, state of CB(Circuit Breaker) and these relays, SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system that control and correct characteristic curve of overcurrent relay at system change by using HMI(Human Machine Interface) is proposed.
