GPR data is used for underground exploration. The data gathered are interpreted by experts based on experience as the underground facilities often reflect GPR. In addition, GPR data are different in the noise and characteristics of the data depending on the equipment, environment, etc. This often results in insufficient data with accurate labels. Generally, a large amount of training data have to be obtained to apply CNN models that exhibit high performance in image classification problems. However, due to the characteristics of GPR data, it makes difficult to obtain sufficient data. Finally, this makes neural networks unable to learn based on general supervised learning methods. This paper proposes an image classification method considering data characteristics to ensure that the accuracy of each label is similar. The proposed method is based on semi-supervised learning, and the image is classified using clustering techniques after extracting the feature values of the image from the neural network. This method can be utilized not only when the amount of the labeled data is insufficient, but also when labels that depend on the data are not highly reliable.
Principal Component Analysis (PCA) reduces the dimensionality of the process by creating a new set of variables, Principal components (PCs), which attempt to reflect the true underlying process dimension. However, for highly nonlinear processes, this form of monitoring may not be efficient since the process dimensionality can't be represented by a small number of PCs. Examples include the process of semiconductors, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Nonlinear correlated process variables can be reduced to a set of nonlinear principal components, through the application of Kernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA). Support Vector Data Description (SVDD) which has roots in a supervised learning theory is a training algorithm based on structural risk minimization. Its control limit does not depend on the distribution, but adapts to the real data. So, in this paper proposes a non-linear process monitoring technique based on supervised learning methods and KPCA. Through simulated examples, it has been shown that the proposed monitoring chart is more effective than $T^2$ chart for nonlinear processes.
Recently, according to development of artificial intelligence, a wide range of industry being automatic and optimized. Also we can find out some research of using supervised learning for deteceting defect of railway in domestic rail industry. However, there are structures other than rails on the track, and the fastener is a device that binds the rail to other structures, and periodic inspections are required to prevent safety accidents. In this paper, we present a method of reducing cost for labeling using semi-supervised and transfer model trained on rail fastener data. We use Resnet50 as the backbone network pretrained on ImageNet. At first we randomly take training data from unlabeled data and then labeled that data to train model. After predict unlabeled data by trained model, we adopted a method of adding the data with the highest probability for each class to the training data by a predetermined size. Futhermore, we also conducted some experiments to investigate the influence of the number of initially labeled data. As a result of the experiment, model reaches 92% accuracy which has a performance difference of around 5% compared to supervised learning. This is expected to improve the performance of the classifier by using relatively few labels without additional labeling processes through the proposed method.
Estimating 3D information from a single image is one of the essential problems in numerous applications. Since a 2D image inherently might originate from an infinite number of different 3D scenes, thus 3D reconstruction from a single image is notoriously challenging. This challenge has been overcame by the advent of recent deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs), by modeling the mapping function between 2D image and 3D information. However, to train such deep CNNs, a massive training data is demanded, but such data is difficult to achieve or even impossible to build. Recent trends thus aim to present deep learning techniques that can be trained in a weakly-supervised manner, with a meta-data without relying on the ground-truth depth data. In this article, we introduce recent developments of weakly-supervised deep learning technique, especially categorized as scene 3D reconstruction and object 3D reconstruction, and discuss limitations and further directions.

With the rapid growth of multimedia data, research on cross-media feature learning has significance in many applications, such as multimedia search and recommendation. Existing methods are sensitive to noise and edge information in multimedia data. In this paper, we propose a semi-supervised method for cross-media feature learning by means of $L_{2,q}$ norm to improve the performance of cross-media retrieval, which is more robust and efficient than the previous ones. In our method, noise and edge information have less effect on the results of cross-media retrieval and the dynamic patch information of multimedia data is employed to increase the accuracy of cross-media retrieval. Our method can reduce the interference of noise and edge information and achieve fast convergence. Extensive experiments on the XMedia dataset illustrate that our method has better performance than the state-of-the-art methods.
Semi-supervised learning uses both labeled data and unlabeled data. Recently consistency regularization is very popular in semi-supervised learning. Unsupervised data augmentation (UDA) that uses unlabeled data augmentation is also based on the consistency regularization. The Kullback-Leibler divergence is used for the loss of unlabeled data and cross-entropy for the loss of labeled data through UDA learning. UDA uses techniques such as training signal annealing (TSA) and confidence-based masking to promote performance. In this study, we propose to use Jensen-Shannon divergence instead of Kullback-Leibler divergence, reverse-TSA and not to use confidence-based masking for performance improvement. Through experiment, we show that the proposed technique yields better performance than those of UDA.

This study studied a prediction model for sending collision alarms for small fishing boats based on semi-supervised learning(SSL). The supervised learning (SL) method requires a large number of labeled data, but the labeling process takes a lot of resources and time. This study used service data collected through a data pipeline linked to 'intelligent maritime traffic information service' and data collected from real-sea experiment. The model accuracy was improved as a result of learning not only real-sea experiment data with labeling determined based on actual user satisfaction but also service data without label determined together.

In this paper, I propose a response modeling with a Semi-Supervised Support Vector Regression (SS-SVR) algorithm. In order to increase the accuracy and profit of response modeling, unlabeled data in the customer dataset are used with the labeled data during training. The proposed SS-SVR algorithm is designed to be a batch learning to reduce the training complexity. The label distributions of unlabeled data are estimated in order to consider the uncertainty of labeling. Then, multiple training data are generated from the unlabeled data and their estimated label distributions with oversampling to construct the training dataset with the labeled data. Finally, a data selection algorithm, Expected Margin based Pattern Selection (EMPS), is employed to reduce the training complexity. The experimental results conducted on a real-world marketing dataset showed that the proposed response modeling method trained efficiently, and improved the accuracy and the expected profit.
In this paper, as a liberal arts course for non-majors, we proposed a supervised learning artificial neural network parameter optimization method and a basic education method for activation function to design a basic artificial neural network subject curriculum. For this, a method of finding a parameter optimization solution in a spreadsheet without programming was applied. Through this training method, you can focus on the basic principles of artificial neural network operation and implementation. And, it is possible to increase the interest and educational effect of non-majors through the visualized data of the spreadsheet. The proposed contents consisted of artificial neurons with sigmoid and ReLU activation functions, supervised learning data generation, supervised learning artificial neural network configuration and parameter optimization, supervised learning artificial neural network implementation and performance analysis using spreadsheets, and education satisfaction analysis. In this paper, considering the optimization of negative parameters for the sigmoid neural network and the ReLU neuron artificial neural network, we propose a training method for the four performance analysis results on the parameter optimization of the artificial neural network, and conduct a training satisfaction analysis.
This study aimed to provide a solution for improving ship collision alert of the 'accident vulnerable ship monitoring service' among the 'intelligent marine traffic information system' services of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The current ship collision alert uses a supervised learning (SL) model with survey labels based on large ship-oriented data and its operators. Consequently, the small ship data and the operator's opinion are not reflected in the current collision-supervised learning model, and the effect is insufficient because the alarm is provided from a longer distance than the small ship operator feels. In addition, the supervised learning (SL) method requires a large number of labeled data, and the labeling process requires a lot of resources and time. To overcome these limitations, in this paper, the classification model of collision alerts for small ships using unlabeled data with the semi-supervised learning (SSL) algorithms (Label Propagation and TabNet) was studied. Results of real-time experiments on small ship operators using the classification model of collision alerts showed that the satisfaction of operators increased.
