  • The purpose of this study is to verify the research model and identify the causal relationship among leader's super leadership, self-leadership, psychological empowerment, sport commitment and performance perceived by Taekwondo athletes. The subjects of the study were middle and high school Taekwondo athletes registered in the Korea Taekwondo Association in 2020 and 2021, and data from 454 people were used as final effective samples through convenience sampling. The collected data used the SPSS 23.0 version and the Amos 21.0 version to verify the hypothesis. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained. First, we discovered that the leader's super leadership had a positive impact on the athlete's self-leadership, psychological empowerment, and sport commitment. Second, we found that the athlete's self-leadership had a positive effect on psychological empowerment, sport commitment, and performance. Third, we found that athlete's psychological empowerment had a positive effect on sport commitment and performance. Fourth, we found that the athlete's sport commitment had a negative effect on performance. Therefore, this study has reminded us about importance of psychological empowerment and sport commitment for explaining the relationship between leadership type and performance perceived by Taekwondo athletes, and might contribute to the theoretical discussion of variables related to athletes' performance.

  • In this paper we develop a minimalist model of single molecule spectroscopy in a dynamic environment. Our model is based upon a lattice system consisting of a probe molecule embedded in an Ising-model like environment. We assume that the probe molecule interacts with the Ising spins via a dipole-dipole potential, and calculate free energy curves and lineshapes of the system. To investigate fluctuation behavior of the system we exploit the metadynamics sampling method. In particular, using the method, we calculate the free energy curve of magnetization of the lattice and that of the transition energy of the probe molecule. Furthermore, we compare efficiencies of three different sampling methods used; unbiased, umbrella, and metadynamics sampling methods. Finally, we explore the lineshape behavior of the probe molecule as the system undergoes a phase transition from a sub-critical and to a super-critical temperature. We show that the transition energy of a probe molecule is broadly distributed due to the heterogeneous, local environments.

  • One of the ever-increasing demands on the performances of heterodyne interferometers is to improve the measurement resolution, of which current state -of-the-art reaches the region of sub-nanometers. So far, the demand has been met by increasing the clock speed that drives the electronics involved fur the phase measurement of the Doppler shift, but its further advance is being hampered by the technological limit of modem electronics. To cope with the problem, in this investigation, we propose a new scheme of phase -measuring electronics that reduces the measurement resolution without further increase in clock speed. Our scheme adopts a super-heterodyne technique that lowers the original beat frequency to a level of 1 MHz by mixing it with a stable reference signal generated from a special phase- locked-loop. The technique enables us to measure the phase of Doppler shift with a resolution of 1.58 nanometer at a sampling rate of 1 MHz. To avoid the undesirable decrease in the maximum measurable speed caused by the lowered beat frequency, a special form of frequency up-down counting technique is combined with the super-heterodyning. This allows performing required phase unwrapping simply by using programmable digital gates without 2n ambiguities up to the maximum velocity guaranteed by the original beat frequency.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the association between obesity and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels in Korean adults without cardiovascular disease (CVD). Methods: The subjects were 3,634 adults, and data were extracted from the seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES VII-3). A complex sampling design analysis was applied to reflect the stratified and clustered weights. The data were analyzed using the complex sample Rao-Scott chi-square test and multiple logistic regression analysis (in SPSS for Windows version 26.0). Obesity, according to body mass index (BMI), was defined as obesity (BMI = 25-29.9 kg/m2), high obesity (BMI = 30-34.9 kg/m2), and super-high obesity (BMI ≥ 35 kg/m2), and abdominal obesity (AO) was defined as a waist circumference (WC) ≥ 90 cm in males and WC ≥ 85 cm in females. Results: The odds ratios for moderate CVD risk (hs-CRP; 1-3 mg/dL) were 2.21, 4.16, and 7.13 in the obesity, high obesity, and super-high obesity groups, respectively, compared to the normal BMI group. The odds ratio for moderate CVD risk was 2.18 in males with AO and 1.88 in females with AO. The odds ratios for high CVD risk (hs-CRP > 3 mg/L) were 4.40 and 17.55 in the high obesity and super-high obesity groups, respectively, compared to the normal BMI group. Conclusion: This study provides evidence that early detection and prevention programs for CVD should include obesity-related interventions aiming to modulate hs-CRP.

  • In this study, we propose a novel super-resolution neural network based on U-Net, residual neural network, and sub-pixel convolution. To prevent the loss of detailed information due to the max pooling of U-Net, we propose down-sampling and connection using sub-pixel convolution. This uses all pixels in the filter, unlike the max pooling that creates a new feature map with only the max value in the filter. As a 2×2 size filter passes, it creates a feature map consisting only of pixels in the upper left, upper right, lower left, and lower right. This makes it half the size and quadruple the number of feature maps. And we propose two methods to reduce the computation. The first uses sub-pixel convolution, which has no computation, and has better performance, instead of up-convolution. The second uses a layer that adds two feature maps instead of the connection layer of the U-Net. Experiments with a banchmark dataset show better PSNR values on all scale and benchmark datasets except for set5 data on scale 2, and well represent local area patterns.

  • Recently, we have many kinds of picture format and display, and resizing (scaling) of picture becomes important. In this processing, quality of picture depends on re-sizing method. For this, some methods to improve the PSNR have been proposed. However, subjective picture quality is more important. Especially, degradation caused by re-sizing, such as jaggy (aliasing) and ringing, should be reduced. To solve them, we have proposed the method using directional adaptive interpolation. To improve the performance of this method, we consider the shape analysis this time. In the proposed method, directional adaptive processing is applied for pure edge only. In the texture area and flat area, 8 tap re-sampling filter is used. As the results of processing, the reductions of jaggy and incorrect interpolated pixels are recognized. The subjective picture quality of proposed method is significantly better than 8-tap re-sampling which gives good PSNR.

  • Bayesian probability models for finite populations are considered assuming so-called the super-population. We find the posterior distribution of population mean by a new approach, using the concept of pivotal quantity for the small sample case. A large sample theory is also treated throught the concept of asymptotically pivotal quantity.

  • In this paper, we propose a super-resolution algorithm using discrete wavelet transform. In general super-resolution algorithms for single-image, probability based operations have been used for searching high-frequency components. Consequently, the complexity of the algorithm causes the increase of processing time. In the proposed algorithm, we use discrete wavelet transform to find high-frequency sub-bands. We perform inverse discrete wavelet transform using input image and high-frequency sub-bands of the same resolution as the input image which are obtained by performing discrete wavelet transform without down-sampling and then we obtain image with high-resolution. In the proposed algorithm, we use the down-sampled version of the original image ($512{\times}512$) as a test image ($256{\times}256$) to compare the performance of algorithms. Through experimental results, we confirm the improved efficiency of the proposed algorithm comparing with conventional interpolation algorithms and also decreased processing time comparing the probability based operations.

  • Among single image SR techniques, the TV based SR approach seems most successful in terms of edge preservation and no artifacts. But, this approach achieves insufficient SR for texture component. In this paper, we proposed a new TV-G decomposition based SR method to solve this problem. We proposed the SVR based up-sampling to get better edge preservation in the structure component. The NNE used the relaxed constraint to improve the NE. We used the NNE based learning method to improve the resolution of the texture component. Through experimental results, we quantitatively and qualitatively confirm the improved results of the proposed SR method when comparing with conventional interpolation method, ScSR, TV and NNE.
