A Survey of Korean Firefighters Regarding their Satisfaction with Protective Clothing (한국 소방용 방화복에 대한 만족도 조사)

  • For the structural firefighting protective clothing, it can show a synergy effect when it satisfies smart fabric to block off a harmful environmental element and ergonomics design that apply range of motion of human body and appropriate size system. There are various standards about the structural firefighting protective clothing, but it's difficult to find a rule about movement suitability because the performance of the material holds a lot of the rules. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a scheme to evaluate the current structural firefighting protective clothing and to improve movement suitability by research on the actual condition. For this, the survey about wearer acceptability scale on design and size and about improvement requirements was executed gathering firefighters' opinion. Questionnaire was composed with 23 items about satisfaction on current structural firefighting protective clothing, body suitability, movement suitability, improvement requirement and subjective information. As a results, Korean firefighters demand ergonomics design of structural firefighting protective clothing which to minimize restriction of body movement and to maximize body suitability.

A Study on the Pattern and Grading Rule for Dress Shirts (드레스 셔츠 원형 설계 및 그레이딩룰에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this research lie in developing dress shirts pattern targeting adult males between 25-34 years of age and presenting the rules of grading according to the real circumstances of dress shirts industry. The findings of this research are as follows: 1. The surveyed companies kept different size systems ranged from 5 to 18. They kept different size systems each other, and the pattern making was conducted by modification of the collar size, chest size, etc of the pattern developed through each company's know-how. All the surveyed companies were using point method of grading. 2. The method of the research pattern was to adopt N/6+1(cm) for the width of the back of the neck. N/6 for the front neck, N/6+2 for the depth of the front neck, B/6+7 for the shoulder width, B/6+5.5 for the breast width, B/4+5 for the whole width (back), B/4+4 for the whole width (front), B/4+3.5 for the depth, AH/2+0.5 for the back arm hole, AH2+1 for the front arm hole. 3. The grading rule was made after classifying the sizes into 14 centered on the standard size 40. Through the wearing test of research grading rule, 1 found the suitability of grading size 36 and 43 satisfiable.

Real-time Multiple People Tracking using Competitive Condensation (경쟁적 조건부 밀도 전파를 이용한 실시간 다중 인물 추적)

  • The CONDENSATION (Conditional Density Propagation) algorithm has a robust tracking performance and suitability for real-time implementation. However, the CONDENSATION tracker has some difficulties with real-time implementation for multiple people tracking since it requires very complicated shape modeling and a large number of samples for precise tracking performance. Further, it shows a poor tracking performance in the case of close or partially occluded people. To overcome these difficulties, we present three improvements: First, we construct effective templates of people´s shapes using the SOM (Self-Organizing Map). Second, we take the discrete HMM (Hidden Markov Modeling) for an accurate dynamical model of the people´s shape transition. Third, we use the competition rule to separate close or partially occluded people effectively. Simulation results shows that the proposed CONDENSATION algorithm can achieve robust and real-time tracking in the image sequences of a crowd of people.

A Survey of Representation Methods of Game Rules in Game Design (게임디자인에서 게임규칙 표현방법 조사연구)

  • In game developments, the design results are often modified not only in the design phase but also in the implementation and test phases. The results of game design are consisted of the results of game rule design and the results of game contend design. The results of game rule design should be correctly understood to all the participants, be efficiently managed by the given configuration controls, and be accurately verified. In this study, we carry out a survey of representation methods of game rules in game design. We have the comparison analysis of the written representation, the UML representation, the Petri net representation, and script-language representation methods about the suitability of the representation method for game rule designs. The comparison analysis is about the representation scope, the visual representation, the automated verification, and the configuration management. The analysis results show that the UML representation is the best method but it needs more convenient automated verification method.

  • In this paper, the normalized variable V=(log N-B)(log ${\Delta}{\sigma}-C$-C), as derived from the probabilistic S-N field of Castillo and Canteli, is taken as a reference for calculation of damage accumulation and probability of failure using the Miner number in scenarios of variable amplitude loading. Alternative damage measures, such as the classical Miner and logarithmic Miner, are also considered for comparison between theoretical lifetime prediction and experimental data. The suitability of this approach is confirmed for it provides safe lifetime prediction when applied to fatigue data obtained for riveted joints made of a puddle iron original from the Fao bridge, as well as for data from experimental programs published elsewhere carried out for different materials (aluminium and concrete specimens) under distinct variable loading histories.

  • To verify the suitability of the Railroad safety requirements analysis, the actions of the function which it follows in a given operation condition are composed of the rule model or the state model. And it test must be possible. The subject of condition transfer in compliance with the transfer condition which is an event of system it will be able to accomplish the operation of system. However, tasks allocated to the actor are the duty which is added in organization. This time, the start of duty task is started in compliance with an external or internal condition. If there are 9 tasks which have one objective, the relationship among the previous and the current internal tasks and next tasks which will given is able to show in logical model. Thus when planning an organization, the integral part of class must include Task, Role and Position. And this time we make a series of outputs of examination of organizing model and examples to meet the capable skill.

  • In this paper, we propose ubiWarehouse system which can efficiently manages mass and many kinds of parts such as automotive parts. First, user's work situation is defined systematically as context type of 5W1H, context-aware system is separated on function, and each module operates independently. An efficient route is selected and relevant parts frequently treated at the same time are gathered by calculating the suitability of parts and racks. If other users currently are on a visit or are supposed to visit soon, the hun of visit is changed making a concession for preventing collision. As a result, the proposed system with avoiding competition can provide users with routes for inbound or outbound parts, and can effectively use spaces of a warehouse by arranging racks to gather relevant parts to near location. Also, individual service can be offered by evaluating user propensity using history of the warehouse job, and the accuracy of stock information can be improved by processing of unexpected context and real-time renewing of warehousing and delivering.

  • This Study investigates the Structural Integrity of Boats for Divers, given increased demands for Underwater and Recreational use. We conducted research on a Small Catamaran with a Moon Pool in the center of the Hull, using the Finite Element Method to calculate allowable stress based on the ISO Rule. We computed the coefficients defined in ISO 12215-5 and TC118.1225-7, and determined the suitability of using the ISO Standard and Allowable Stress Design method (ASD) by applying Longitudinal Bending Moment, Torsional moment, and Bottom Slamming Load. We also applied the Ultimate Strength Design Method (LFRD) using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). As a Result of this Research, it was found that ships with a Moon Pool do have Structural Integrity according to their Design in accordance with ISO and KR Regulations.

  • Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. (KHNP) has implemented engineering programs for operating nuclear power plants. Engineering programs are maintenance rule (MR), functional importance determination (FID), single point vulnerability (SPV) and functional equipment group (FEG). Recently, KHNP has developed engineering programs for APR1400 feedwater supplying system to establish the advanced engineering system and will verify the suitability of engineering programs through implementing in new nuclear power plant. Consequently, it is expected that the reliability of APR1400 feedwater supplying system will be improved by implementing engineering programs.

  • Recently polymer insulators are being used for outdoor high voltage applications. Polymer insulators have significant advantages over porcelain and glass insulators. With the gradual improvement of their design and material, their reliability has also increased. It is however difficult to establish how they will perform after several years of service. Aging of the insulator weathershed may lead to damages such as excessive chalking and crazing, erosion and tracking which affect the insulator performance. In service insulator are subjected to aging stresses such as humidity, pollution and electrical field which act singly or in combination. There have been numerous accelerated laboratory tests developed with the intention of evaluating suitability of polymeric materials. Some of these are strictly material tests, where as, others evaluate full scale devices. Service experience plays a key role in the utility selection of polymer insulator, but is time consuming, and may not always be available. Hence there is a need for a meaningful and reliable accelerated aging test for polymer insulator. This paper describes multi-stress aging test for reliability of polymer insulator This paper presents the rule of multi-stress aging test and test chamber for polymer insulator in korea electrotechnology research institute.
