A vegetation structure by attitudinal changes from Jeongryongchi to Gogiri section of Baekdudaegan were investigated by sample plots(nine 500$m^2$). Using TWINSPAN and DCA techniques, vegetation structure was analyzed. In the results from the analysis of both techniques, Quercus mongolica is dominant species and attitudinal zonations were divided into 2 groups such as above 900m area and lower one by subspecies in subtree and shrub layers. Similarity index analyses of elevational ranges showed discontinuities between above and lower elevation area. In the analysis of species diversity, there was no significant difference due to altitude.
This paper presents an efficient algorithm to compute difference between old and new versions of an SGML/XML document. The difference between the two versions can be considered to be an edit script that transforms some document tree into another The proposed algorithm is based on hybridization of bottom-up and top-down methods: matching relationships between nodes in the two versions are producted in a bottom-up manner and top-down breadth -first search computes an edit script. Because the algorithm does not need to investigate possible existence of matchings for all nodes, faster matching can be achieved . Furthermore, it can detect more structurally meaningful changes such as subtree move and copy as well as simple changes to the node itself like insert, delete, and update.
The Purpose of this study was to offer the raw data for drawing up the conservation plan by analysing natural vegetation in Midongsan, Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea. The period of survey was from July to October, 2004 and the size of plot was 100$m^2$. In the results of analyzing the physical environments, the range of altitude was 303${\sim}$550m and soil pH was 5.4${\sim}$6.8. The angle of slope was 3${\sim}$57% and topographical factor was composed of ridgeline. In the results of analyzing a importance percentage, the dominant species in tree layer, Pinus rigida, P. densiflora, Quercus mongolica, Q. variabilis and Q. acutissima, P. rigida, Q. mongolica, Q. acutissima, Platycarya strobilacea and Q. variabilis in subtree layer, Rhododendron mucronulatum, Symplocos chinensis for pilosa, Lindera obtusiloba, L. erythrocarpa, Rhus trichocarpa and Weigela subsessilis in shrub layer. In the results of species diversity index, species diversity (H') was from 1.2401 to 2.5540, maximum species diversity (H'max), from 1.9459 to 2.8904, evenness (J'), from 0.5644 to 0.8836, dominance (D), from 0.1164 to 0.4356.
The study was conducted to provide basic data for stable forest management according to climate change by identifying the ecological characteristics of Mt. Dalma warm temperate forest. 30 survey plots were established for vegetation structure analysis, and communities which classified by applying TWINSPAN analysis and DCA analysis techniques. Four plant communities were subdivided into Quercus acuta-Eurya japonica community, Quercus acuta community, Quercus salicina-Camellia japonica community, and Quercus acuta-Camellia japonica community. The tree layers were dominated by Quercus acuta and Quercus salicina, and the subtree layers were dominated by Camellia japonica and Eurya japonica, and the Sasa borealis. The species diversity index were in the range of 0.849 to 0.969, and the degree of Evenness index were 0.514 to 0.569, and the similarity index were 59.57 to 75.47%. The species composition in the community indicated that the deciduous broad-leaved and coniferous trees have already been eliminated in competition with evergreen broad-leaved trees. Tree species with good cold resistance such as Quercus acuta and Quercus salicina were dominant species under current climatic conditions, but the dominant species might be changed to more shade-tolerance evergreen broad-leaved through the succession.
To investigate the structure of the forest community of Huibang valley in Sobaeksan National Park, twenty five plots were set up and surveyed. According to the analysis of classification by DCA community divided 4 groups. The divided groups are Pinus densiflora community, Q. mongolica -P. densiflora community. Q. mongolica-Stewartia koreana-Carpinus laxiflora community, and Q. mongolica- Acer pseudosieboldianum community. In the analysis by ordination, CCA which points out the relationship among the environmental variables, species and plots indicated primary step of secondary succession. The successional trends of both techniques. seem to be from P. densiflora through Q. mongolica, Q. serrate to C. laxiflora(or S. koreana) in canopy layer below an altitude of 800 meters, and from Rhododendron mucronulaltum. Rh. schlippenbachli. Rhus trichocarpa through Styrax obassia. Lindera obtusiloba to Magnolia sieboldii, Corylus sieboldiana in subtree and shrub layer. The positive correlation between the stand ordination scores .and soil moisture and soil humus were calculated.
The dynamics and distribution characteristics of Coryjopsis coreana popujation at Cheongsogol, Sunchon, Cholanam-do, Korea, were investigated. The Coryiopsis coreana pop ulation was distributed along the forest edge and it showed characteristics which were distributed on only directional slopes of the north, northeast or northwest. The Coryjopsis coreana constituted subtree or shrub layer in the forest, and its floristic composition was basically similar to those of adjacent areas where the species does not exist. The number of stump was 6.25 per $25\;m^2$, and each stump had 3 sproutings in average. The density of the Corylopsis coreana population in the study area was lower than that in other area, which suggests the population is declining in the study area.
The planting plan for the establishment of Eco-bridge were suggested to restore the ecosystem where has been ecologically isolated by rood construction in Chimgogae of Odaesan National Park. Eco-bridge contributes as a corridors to the faunal movement. To survey the vegetation, 16 plots within 6 sites were selected and 10 by 10 meters in size set up. In the results of Chingogae's vegetation analysis, succession trends was from Quercus mongolica to Carpinus laxiflora, Carpinus cordata, Fraxinus rhynchophylla, Tilia amurensis and so on. It turned out that the nearer sites had high similariyt and vegetation continuity obviously in the similarity index analysis. In the analysis of the number of species and individuals, final step of planting plan needs about 15 species and 10~12 trees, 17~18 subtrees and 100 shrubs in size 100m$^{2}$. Planting species was selected from adjacent sites. The plant species suited for the eco-bridge establishment in this area can be suggested such as Carpinus cordata, Cornus controversa, Q. mongolica etc. and 12 subtree and shrub such as Syringa reticulata var. mandshurica, Sambucus williacsii var. coreaca, Acer pseudosieboldianum and so on.

This study was carried out to analyze forest vegetation of the Jangtaesan, Haetaesan, Ahnpyoungsan and Gubongsan in Daejeon. Employing the releve method of Braun-Blanquet, 76 plots were sampled. The communities were classified into Quercus mongolica community, Quercus variabilis community, and Pinus densiflora community. Average coverage rate was 85% in tree layer, 44% in subtree layer, 37% in shrub layer, 25% in herb layer, respectively. The importance values were 58.76 in Pinus densiftora, 44.86 in Quercus monegolica, 44.06 in Quercus variabilis, 33.00 in Quercus serrata, 18.73 in Rhus trichocarpa, 18.07 in Prunus sargentii. DBH range of most Pinus densiflora, Quercus mongolica and Quercus variabilis was between 5cm and 20cm. Therefore, Pinus densiflora, Quercus mongolica and Quercus variabilis will be dominant species in the study area for several more decades. Quercus mongolica community was distributed mainly on the north and east slope in a high-altitude and relative good nutrition condition. Querucus variabilis community was distributed mainly on the south slope in a middle-altitude and medium nutrition condition. Pinus densiflora community was distributed mainly in a low-altitude and poor nutrition condition.
