  • This paper introduces new ordering algorithms using the graph of data structure and forward/backward substitution of LU decomposition using recursive function. The performance of the algorithm is compared with Tinney's algorithm using 14 bus systems. Test results show that the new fill-in element of Jacobian matrix using the proposed ordering algorithm is same as that of Tinner scheme 3 and the forward/backward substitution can reduce the computation time

  • As the study for preparation of single-layer anti-reflective coating on glass, the conditions of synthesis of sol for coating and of reproducible coating procedure were investigated. In case of water-based sol, coating was impossible because of poor wettability of sol. The Substitution of solvent with ethanol improved the wettability of sol on the glass surface, and optimum amount of ethanol for substitution was 70 vol%. Maximum specific surface area and total pore volume of water-based sol were 268.7$m^2$/g and 0.315 cc/g, but after substitution, those values increased to 404.1 $m^2$/g and 0.376 cc/g, respectively. The upper limit withdrawl speed of coating in order to get clean coated films without aggregations or stains was 7 cm/min. In case of addition of 0.1 mol HNO3 and substitution with 70 vol% ethanol and heat-treatment at 40$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour, thin film with thickness of 94 nm was obtained at withdrawl speed of 4 cm/min. The thickness of thin film was independent of drying time.

  • An optical parallel modified signed-digit(MSD) number adder system is proposed by using triple rail-coding input patterns and serial arrangement method of symbolic substitution. By combing overlapped arithmetic results. which are produced by encoding MSD input as triple rail-coding patterns. into the same patterns, symbolic substitution rules are reduced and also by using serialized and space-shifted input patterns in optical experiments, the optical adder without space-shifting operation, NOR operation and threshold operation is implemented.

  • This paper developed the theoretical method to predict structural performances and weight reduction rates of a carbody when its materials should be substituted. For the material substitution design of the carbody, the bending, axial and twisting deformations are evaluated under the constant stiffness and strength conditions. For the design of the primary structures such as the center beams, the cross beams and the cantrails, the bending and axial deformations are investigated under the condition of the constant bending stiffness, the constant bending or buckling strength by considering both the material properties and the cross sectional shapes. The developed indices to measure the weight reduction by the material substitution give good informations on the weak and strong points of a carbody design.

  • All production and consumption activities produce wastes, which often cause damage to our environment and multiple risks to the human health. The valorization of these wastes in concrete technology is a future solution that will allow finding other construction materials sources, optimizing energy consumption and protecting the environment. Among these wastes, there is the marble waste. Every year, huge amount of marble waste is discarded as dust or aggregates form, in open-air storage areas causing serious problems for the environment and public health. In this context, the incorporation of marble waste as a replacement of ordinary aggregates or cement in concrete composition is actively investigated by researchers. This paper presents a comprehensive review of published studies over the last 20 years, dealing the effect of marble waste on fresh and hardened properties of concrete. Most of the studies carried out have used marble waste as dust with substitution rates between 5 and 20%. Besides the economic and ecological benefits, this review showed that marble waste can improve the physical, mechanical and durability properties of concrete. This improvement depends on the form (dust, fine aggregate or coarse aggregate), substitution method (as cement or aggregates replacement) and substitution rate of marble waste. Additionally, the review results showed that the use of 10-15% of marble waste dust as cement substitution can lead to increase the compressive strength.

  • The purposes of this study were to identify the attitudes toward of market goods characteristics and to investigate the relationships between attitudes toward market goods characteristics and the level of market goods substitution of housework. For empirical analysis, the data of the study was collected from 572 married women living in Seoul. A questionnaire was used as a survey method. Data was analysed using SPSS/WIN8. The major findings of the study were as follows: 1) Wives had negative attitudes toward quality characteristics in the domain of food, but positive attitudes in the domain of clothes. They had positive attitudes toward time/labor saving characteristic, especially ready-made side dishes and dining-out, whereas negative attitudes toward money saving characteristic in the domain of food and clothes. 2) The level of market goods substitution of housework was influenced by the attitudes toward market goods characteristics.

  • There are ground facility of maintenance in house electric facility of infra maintenance electric home appliances having used multifariousness in house, that use electric energy of common source for equipment. The body of building such as the reinforced concrete construction is structurally united, and the electric resistance is also small. It is possible that those foundations have contacted the ground at large surface area and that it substitutes the building construction body for the earth electrode. This is called "the structure earthing". This method has been defined at electrical facilities technical standards and KS in our country, and it has been used in various quarters practically. However, in our country, there is no example of using the foundation of the house as substitution earth electrode practically, and the means of the evaluation as electrode has not been established either. Then, in this paper, basic research for utilizing foundation of the house as substitution earth electrode is carried out.

  • In this paper, a theorectical approach is studied to predict structural performances and weight-reduction rates of hybrid bodyshells in case that the materials of roof structures are substituted. To determine other light-weight materials to be substituted for the original roof materials, bending and twisting deformations are considered under constant stiffness and strength conditions, which derive some new weight-reduction indices from a structural performance point of view. The indices derived to estimate the weight-reduction can be utilized as a good criterion at the conceptual design for material substitution of the roofs.

  • A new mechanism is proposed for aromatic substitution, involving the formation of pseudo molecular complexes at the transition state. It accounts for the addition reactions of aromatic compounds with double bond reagents such as ozone, somium tetraoxide and carbene as well as all of the features of electrophilic substitution reactions. The pseudo molecular complex has been proved to be formed by quantum-chemical considerations using the simple Huckel method.

  • For the development of new synthetic method for unnatural amino acid esters, N-aryl phenylglycine Ο-alkyl esters 4a∼i were synthesized through esterification, bromination, C-N bond formation from commercially available phenylacetic acids. An efficient and practical reaction condition for esters 2a∼c was that the starting materials 1a∼c were refluxed in absolute methanol for 3 hours with catalytic concentrated hydrosulfuric acid. In addition, bromines 3a∼c were formated for 3h in dichloromethane at rt with N-bromosuccinimide. Bromines 3a∼c were also converted to 4a∼i through substitution of arylamines during refluxing for 24 hours in ethanol with triethylamine. Interestingly, ethyl esters 5a∼c were formed via transesterification reaction when the p-sulfamylanilino group was used as a nucleophile in ethanol solvent.
