  • In the past, design has been recognized as a means to determine colors, shapes, and functions Recently, however, it has been accepted in a wider sense, namely designing the entire service, including product and user experience design. In this way, in addition to creativity and expressive power that designers have as their main competence, according to the expansion of this design object, designers are required to have comprehensive abilities in related fields and accompanying technical professional abilities. If designing as a technology application as a direction toward this situation, design education can be carried out by approaching technology as a method of expression or design subject. It can also be an effective alternative towards improving the understanding of technology. Meanwhile, many small microcontroller board products with advanced functions and multi-functional specialized programming integrated development environments (IDEs) are becoming widespread due to their open source, low cost, and scalable features. However, students in the design department who lack the basic knowledge of science and engineering have difficulties learning, which requires considerable time and is required for practical use. From this point of view, we have made advancements in the technical understanding of design education by conducting fundamental research to the effectiveness of microcontroller-based prototyping tools as means of expression. We also conducted basic education of microcontroller boards for a certain period of time on students who majored in design in conjunction with the basic survey and investigated the obstacle factors using a questionnaire. Through these surveys, we have confirmed the necessity of designing microcontroller boards of low difficulty, which simplify the coding process that can act as a barrier in difficulty for design students to apply smoothly in design education. In addition, we intend to carry out a basic study on the guideline of microcontroller design for design education and composition of education programs.

  • The mortality and morbidity rate of hemodialysis patients (HD) remain high. Among many factors, protein and calorie malnutrition has been shown to be a major risk factor for increased mortality in the HD patients population. Malnutrition can be caused by insufficient amino acid intake, nutrient losses in dialysate, oxidant stress and muscle catabolism. In this study, we evaluated the association of markers of nutritional status and essential amino acids intake in HD patients. We investigated nutritional status of 41 HD patients (mean age: $64.2\;{\pm}\;11.5\;y$, men: 24, women: 27) by measuring anthropometric, biochemical parameters and food intakes by using 24 hr recall methods. Subject's total energy intake and total protein intake were $1,648.0\;{\pm}\;397.31\;kcal/day,\;79.2\;{\pm}\;27.2\;g/day$:, respectively. The animal protein intake was $42.7\;{\pm}\;22.1\;g/day$, essential amino acids intake was $23.4\;{\pm}\;9.92\;g/day$, and the ratio of essential amino acids to total protein intake was $29.6\;{\pm}\;5.42%$. There were significantly positive correlation between muscle mass and lean body mass with serum creatinine level (r=0.435, p<0.01; r=0.435, p<0,01). There were also significant positive correlation in muscle mass and lean body mass with pre hemodialysis blood urea nitrogen (preHD BUN) (r=0.329, p<0.05; r=0.329, p<0.05). There were no significant correlation in total energy intake and total protein intake per kg ideal body weight (IBW) to muscle mass and lean body mass. However, there were significantly positive correlation between the ratio of essential amino acids and muscle mass and lean body mass (r=0.368, p<0.05; r=0.405, p<0.01). And serum hematocrit concentration was positively correlated with the ratio of essential amino acids (r=0.032, p<0.05). The results of this study indicate that strong associations exist in essential amino acid intakes with malnutrition than total protein intakes in HD patient. In conclusion, specialized nutrition education should be necessary to efficiently improve the quality of protein intakes.

Dr. Park was born in Seoul on 3 July 1903. He graduated Kyongseong dental medical school and studied at the pharmacology department achieving his M.D. In 1938, as the president representing the Hanseong dentists association equivalent to the Japanese dentists association, Dr. Park participated in various events. After liberation, Dr. Park tried his best to achieve Korean dental medical education as the pursuit of ideal ego with self-centered ego. He reorganized the Kyongseong dental medical school and incorporated it to the Seoul National University dental college. Even during the Korea war, Dr. Park still sincerely carried out his duties as the director of the Seoul National University dental medical college by recruiting university entrants and turned out graduates. In 1954, Dr. Park as the director of the Seoul National University dental medical college, he frontiered an opportunity to adapt the American dental medicine by sending school staffs to study overseas. On 25 June 1954, Dr. Park received 25 years of meritorius service award presented by Seoul National University Dental Medical College. Further, on 6 Aril 1954, Dr. Park became a member of an academic research committee. • Cooperative program planning and teaching is a strategy for developing and implementing resource based learning. This approach combines the classroom teacher's subject expertise and knowledge of the students with the teacherlibrarian's specialized knowledge of the availability and use of learning materials. And the purpose of cooperative program planning is to develop learning experiences or units of study that effectively integrate the student's resource center activities with other learning experiences. There are also some conditions that are conducive to effective planning sessions. First, the teacher-librarian must be prepared to initiate planning with teachers, rather than waiting for teachers to come to them. Second, the teacher-librarian must be prepared to present suggestions in such a way that the teacher can respond. The purpose of this study is (1) to investigate the planning process of cooperative program planning and teaching in the previous studies and (2) to find general problems when the cooperative program planning and teaching apply in actual situation. For these purposes, I chose a school library and a teacher-librarian in Seoul to observe how this cooperative program planning and teaching carry out in the school library. Main findings are summarized as follows: (1) A teacher who teaches alone for one grade is more proper to carry out the cooperative program planning and teaching. Young teachers are usually more active to change their teaching methods. (2) The cooperative program planning and teaching is a program what needs a lot of materials. When there is no right reference book in a school library, it would be good to access DB through PC telecommunication. It is also possile to contact lirarians who work in large public libraries or university libraries. (3) The cooerative program planning and teaching needs cooperative working between a teacher-librarian and a teacher. Thus a teacher-librarian should be in his school in the day time like the other teachers for the program's planning process. ( 4) There has to be a guide to change into resource based learning in teaching method. Thus the Korean Library Association or Korean Library and Information Science Society should offer a seminar or a workshop about cooperative program planning and teaching for the teacher-librarians. (5) It needs a system that a teacher-librarian can know about student's assignments so that he can prepare reference books for them. (6) The school library can be able to offer excellent service like cooperative program planning and teaching to the teachers and students according to a teacher-librarian's enthusiasm.
