B4C tile 삽입 B4Cp/Al7075 하이브리드 복합재의 계면 제어를 통한 내충격 특성의 향상 (Improvement of Impact Resistance of B4C Tile Inserted B4Cp/Al7075 Hybrid Composites Through Interface Control)

  • 본 연구에서는 B4C tile 삽입 B4Cp/Al7075 하이브리드 복합재의 내충격성을 향상시키기 위하여 B4C/Al7075 계면의 제어법을 개발하고 제어된 계면의 특성에 관하여 분석하였다. 이를 위해 B4C 타일 표면에 B2O3, Ni, 그리고 Si을 각각 열산화, 무전해도금, 그리고 플라즈마 용사법을 이용하여 코팅하였다. 이후 코팅된 B4C 타일을 액상 가압법을 이용하여 B4C/Al7075 복합재 내부에 삽입하여 B4C tile 삽입 B4Cp/Al7075 하이브리드 복합재를 제작하였다. 코팅의 효과를 체계적으로 분석하기 위해 계면에너지, 접합 강도, 그리고 내충격성을 측정하였다. 모든 코팅이 계면에너지, 계면강도, 내충격성을 증가시켰으며 특히 B2O3 코팅 시 내충격성이 86.8% 증가하였다. 본 연구는 차세대 경량 장갑, 방탄소재로 주목받고 있는 B4C/Al 계열 복합재의 성능을 향상시키는 핵심적인 표면처리법을 개발, 분석한 것에 의의가 있다.

Mn4+ 이온 활성 K2TiF6 불화물 적색형광체의 합성과 발광특성 (Synthesis of K2TiF6:Mn4+ Red Phosphors by a Simple Method and Their Photoluminescence Properties)

  • To prepare $Mn^{4+}$-activated $K_2TiF_6$ phosphor, a precipitation method without using hydrofluoric acid (HF) was designed. In the synthetic reaction, to prevent the decomposition of $K_2MnF_6$, which is used as a source of $Mn^{4+}$ activator, $NH_5F_2$ solution was adopted in place of the HF solution. Single phase $K_2TiF_6$:$Mn^{4+}$ phosphors were successfully synthesized through the designed reaction at room temperature. To acquire high luminance of the phosphor, the reaction conditions such as the type and concentration of the reactants were optimized. Also, the optimum content of $Mn^{4+}$ activator was evaluator based on the emission intensity. Photoluminescence properties such as excitation and emission spectrum, decay curve, and temperature dependence of PL intensity were investigated. In order to examine the applicability of this material to a white LED, the electroluminescence property of a pc-WLED fabricated by combining the $K_2TiF_6$:$Mn^{4+}$ phosphor with a 450 nm blue-LED chip was measured.

  • Aerosol Deposition Method (ADM) is a novel technique to grow ceramic thick films with high density and nano-crystal structure at room temperature. $^{1,2)}$ For these unique advantages of ADM, it would be applied to the fabrication process of 3-D integration ceramic modules effectively. However, it is critical to control the properties of starting powders, because a film formation through ADM is achieved by impaction and consolidation of starting powders on the substrates. We fabricated alumina thick films by ADM for the application to integral substrates for RF modules. When the as-received alumina powders were used as a starting material without any treatments, it was observed that the dielectric properties of as-deposited alumina films, such as relative permittivity and loss tangent, showed high dependency on the frequency. In this study, some techniques of powder pre-treatments to improve the dielectric properties of alumina thick films will be shown and the effects of starting powders on the properties of AD films will be discussed.

  • We have synthesized some phosphors in the system $CaO-Y_2$$O_3$-$Al_2$$O_3$by combinatorial polymerized-complex method. Composition and synthetic temperature of phosphors in the library was screened from the emission intensities of individual samples under VUV excitation. In $Tb^{ 3+}$-activated $CaO-Y_2$$O_3$-$Al_2$$O_3$, green phosphors showing good intensity were found to be X$O_3$$O_{7}$, CaYA1O$_4$, YA1O$_3$, $Y_3$$Al_{5}$$O_{12}$, $Y_4$$A1_2$$O_{9}$ .

  • Dense $4.25Co_{0.53}Fe_{0.47}-Al_{2}O_{3}$ composite was simultaneously synthesized and consolidated by pulsed current activated combustion method within 2 min from mechanically activated powders. Consolidation was accomplished under the combined effects of a pulsed current and mechanical pressure. Dense $4.25Co_{0.53}Fe_{0.47}-Al_{2}O_{3}$ with relative density of up to 96% was produced under simultaneous application of 80 MPa pressure and the pulsed current. Fracture toughness and hardness of the composite are $6MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ and $570kg/mm^{2}$ respectively.

  • A new synthetic method of 2,5-disubstituted pyrrolidines is developed by the cyclization of unsaturated N-benzoyloxysulfonamides by $(CuOTf)_2{\cdot}C_6H_6$ in refluxing dichloroethane. Various N-4- and N-5-alkenyl and alkynyl N-benzoyloxysulfonamides are cyclized to give pyrrolidines. The cyclization proceeds via addition of sulfonamidoyl radicals to intramolecular unsaturated bonds or allylic hydrogen abstraction with the radical intermediates.

Synthesis of Ce-doped In2O3 nanoparticles via a microwave-assisted hydrothermal pathway and their application as an ultrafast breath acetone sensor

  • Acetone, a metabolite detected from the exhaled breath of people doing a diet, can be used for non-invasive monitoring of diet efficiency. Thus, gas sensors with rapid response and recovery characteristics to acetone need to be developed. Herein, we report ultrafast acetone sensors using Ce-doped In2O3 nanoparticles prepared by the one-pot microwave-assisted hydrothermal method. The pure In2O3 sensor shows a high response and fast response time (τres = 6 s) upon exposure to 2 ppm acetone at 300 ℃, while exhibiting a relatively sluggish recovery speed (τrecov = 1129 s). When 20 wt% Ce is doped, the τrecov of the sensor significantly decreased to 45 s withholding the fast-responding characteristic (τres = 6 s). In addition, the acetone response (resistance ratio, S) of the sensor is as high as 5.8, sufficiently high to detect breath acetone. Moreover, the sensor shows similar acetone sensing characteristics even under a highly humid condition (relative humidity of 60%) in terms of τres (6 s), τrecov (47 s), and S (4.7), demonstrating its high potential in real applications. The excellent acetone sensing characteristics of Ce-doped In2O3 nanoparticles are discussed in terms of their size, composition, phase, and oxygen adsorption on the sensing surface.

RSM 법에 의한Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 (LAS) 유리의 소결 거동과 결정화에 대한 연구 (A Study of Sintering Behavior and Crystallization in Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 (LAS) Glass System by RSM)

  • This paper presents results and observations obtained from a study of sintering behavior and crystallization in $Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ (LAS) Glass by screen printing method. The variable experimental conditions were determined carefully by Thermal-Mechanical Analyzer (TMA), Differential Thermal Analyzer (DTA) for setting the optimum transparent sintering conditions in LAS glass system, $10.5Li_2O-14.7Al_2O_3-58.1SiO_2-16.7B_2O_3(wt%)$, such as glass-ceramics which usually have low crystallization temperatures. Crystallization glasses generated during sintering was observed from diffraction patterns by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), transmittance by UV-Vis spectrometer. Finally, the optimum sintering condition of LAS glass and the relation between factors and results in several sintering conditions were given by using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). From this study, we confirmed that crystallization interrupted densification during glass powder sintering. Furthermore, we observed that main effect of factors in glass powder sintering with concurrent crystallization depended on experimental conditions from main effects plot by MINTAB-14.

  • We propose a new arbitration method for an input buffered switch with a buffered crossbar. In the proposed method, an exhaustive polling method is used to decrease the synchronization. Using an approximate analysis, we explain how the proposed method improves the switch performance. Also, using computer simulations, we show the proposed method outperforms the previous methods under burst traffic.

다단 침전법에 의한 구형 BaMgAl10O17:Eu 형광체의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation and Properties of Spherical BaMgAl10O17:Eu Phosphor by Multi-step Precipitation Method)

  • A spherical $BaMgAl_{10}$ $O_{17}$ :Eu phosphor has been synthesized by a multi-step precipitation route. In order to successfully synthesize the phosphor with spherical shape, the hydrated-alumina particles should be controlled for spherical shape. In this process, the hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) was used as a dispersing reagent. This reagent plays an important role in that the particles were controlled to have the uniform size of sub-micron. The final product prepared by the multi-step precipitation method maintained spherical shape with uniform size of 0.4$\mu\textrm{m}$. It can be seen in X-ray diffraction patterns, formation of the single phase of $BaMgAl_{10}$ $O_{17}$ :Eu phosphor prepared by the multi-step precipitation method at $1350^{\circ}C$. Also, the emission spectra of spherical $BaMgAl_{O}$ $10_{17}$ :Eu phosphor in the present case was compared with those of commercially-available blue phosphor under VUV (Vacuum Ultra Violet) excitation. The luminescence process of the $BaMgAl_{10}$ $O_{17}$ :Eu phosphor is characterized by the $4f^{6}$$5d^1$longrightarrow4f$^{7}$ transition (blue) of the $Eu^{2+}$ ion acting as an activating center and the maximum luminescence intensity was obtained by reduction treatment at 145$0^{\circ}C$.
