With advancements in technology of virtual reality, it is used for various purposes in many fields such as medical care and healthcare, but as the same time there are also increasing reports of nausea, eye fatigue, dizziness, and headache from users. These symptoms of motion sickness are referred to as cybersickness, and various researches are under way to solve the cybersickness problem because it can cause inconvenience to the user and cause adverse effects such as discomfort or stress. However, there is no official standard for the causes and solutions of cybersickness at present. This is also related to the absence of tools to quantitatively measure the cybersickness. In order to overcome these limitations, this study proposed quantitative and objective cybersickness evaluation method. We measured 128-channel EEG waves from ten participants experiencing visually stimulated virtual reality. We calculated the relative power of delta and alpha in 11 regions (left, middle, right frontal, parietal, occipital and left, right temporal lobe). Multiple regression models were obtained in a stepwise manner with the motion sickness susceptibility questionnaire (MSSQ) scores indicating the susceptibility of the subject to the motion sickness. A multiple regression model with the highest under the area ROC curve (AUC) was derived. In the multiple regression model derived from this study, it was possible to distinguish cybersickness by accuracy of 95.1% with 11 explanatory variables (PD.MF, PD.LP, PD.MP, PD.RP, PD.MO, PA.LF, PA.MF, PA.RF, PA.LP, PA.RP, PA.MO). In summary, in this study, objective response to cybersickness was confirmed through 128 channels of EEG. The analysis results showed that there was a clearly distinguished reaction at a specific part of the brain. Using the results and analytical methods of this study, it is expected that it will be useful for the future studies related to the cybersickness.
The effects of pulsation in a pulsating flow through a rectangular channel have been investigated by Particle Image Velocimetry in both laminar and turbulent flow conditions. PIV results on a square channel (aspect ratio:1) have been reported on the cases of Reynolds number Re=80 in laminar and Re=8800 in turbulent region. For both in the laminar and turbulent regions, the influence of the pulsation onto the magnitude changes of the average velocity was negligible. In the turbulent region, the magnitude profiles of the stream-wise pulsating component obtained by the theoretical analysis based on the Stokes analogy were slightly different from the experimental ones due to the influence of the turbulent viscosities onto the pulsating flows.
This study examined motivation to use omni-channel services on mobile devices in fashion stores and the effects of such usage motivation on brand purchase intention through continuous and affective commitment. Data were collected on consumers in their 20s and 30s who experienced omni-channel services during shopping for or purchasing fashion products. An online survey asked 413 consumers to rate their brand purchase intention. Sub-levels of each variable were examined using SPSS 25.0, followed by confirmatory factor analysis using AMOS 19.0. In addition, path analysis using structural equation modeling was applied to analyze associations between variables. The statistical results were mixed. First, only two dimensions of usage motivation for omni-channel services, hedonic and relational motivation, had positive effects on continuous and affective commitment. Second, continuous commitment had a greater effect on purchase intention of brands that provided omni-channel services than it did on affective commitment. Third, of the dimensions of usage motivation, utilitarian motivation had a direct influence on purchase intention in the modified model, while social motivation did not affect service commitment and purchase intention. Finally, our findings suggest that brand loyalty can be built by encouraging service commitments through hedonic and relational motivation, based on the usability of omni-channel services.

This paper focuses on solving co-channel interference (CCI) issues arising in the open subscriber group (OSG) mode of heterogeneous networks (HetNets). Considering a general framework consisting of arbitrary number of picocells within a macro cell, where the inter-user interference (IUI) is the main CCI to macro user equipments (UEs), while the the inter-cell interference (ICI) is the major CCI to pico UEs. In this paper, three IA based transceiver design schemes are proposed. For macro cell, we uniformly use block diagonalization (BD) scheme to eliminate the IUI. And for picocells, three IA schemes are proposed to mitigate the ICI. The first scheme, named as zero forcing IA (ZF-IA) scheme, aligns the inter picocell interference onto an arbitrary sub-space of the cross-tier interference using ZF scheme. Considering the channel state information (CSI) of the desired channel of pico UEs, the second scheme, named as optimal desired sub-channel selected IA (ODC-IA) scheme, aligns the inter picocell interference onto a certain sub-space of the cross-tier interference, which guarantees the largest channel gain of the desired signal of pico UEs. The third IA scheme, named as maximum cross-tier interference selected IA (MI-IA) scheme, is designed for the system with less receive antennas. The inter picocell interference is aligned onto the space of the strongest cross-tier interference and only the interference on this space is nullified. The complexity analysis and simulations show that the proposed transceiver design schemes outperform the existing IA schemes in the OSG mode of HetNets, and the MI-IA scheme reduces the requirement of the receive antennas number with lower complexity.

In this paper, we have analyzed the performance enhancement of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing/Quadrature Phase Shift Keying Modulation-Digital Microwave Radio(OFDM/QPSK-DMR) system using Band Limited-Pulse Shaping Filter(BL-PSF) over microwave channel environments. For performance enhancement, the one-tap adaptive equalizer is adopted in the OFDM/QPSK-DMR system and than both BER and signature curve performance are compared with those of single carrier DMR system. Computer simulations confirm that the OFDM/QPSK-DMR system using 16 sub-carrier increase the fade margin about 2 dB over microwave channel environments and that of performance using one-tap adaptive equalizer is highly increased the fade margin as the number of sub-carriers is larger.

In this paper, we propose a new channel estimation technique for long code DS-CDMA DMB down link system which estimate the channel response based on the signal space vector only, unlike the most conventional sub-space method relying on the orthogonal property of noise space vectors to the signal space vector. Because of this property of the proposed method, very optimum covariance matrix in its dimension can be used in subspace analysis channel estimation technique otherwise it is likely too large to be implemented practically.

The analytical transport model in subthreshold regime for double gate MOSFET has been presented to analyze the short channel effects such as subthreshold swing, threshold voltage roll-off and drain induced barrier lowering. The present approach includes the quantum tunneling of carriers through the source-drain barrier. Poisson equation is used for modeling thermionic emission current, and Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approximations are applied for modeling quantum tunneling current. This model has been used to investigate the subthreshold operations of double gate MOSFET having the gate length of the nanometer range with ultra thin gate oxide and channel thickness under sub-20nm. Compared with results of two dimensional numerical simulations, the results in this study show good agreements with those for subthreshold swing and threshold voltage roll-off. Note the short channel effects degrade due to quantum tunneling, especially in the gate length of below 10nm, and DGMOSFETs have to be very strictly designed in the regime of below 10nm gate length since quantum tunneling becomes the main transport mechanism in the subthreshold region.

This paper describes the downlink design of a transportable small-sized KOMPSAT ground station using sub-carrier signal. Based on the analysis of the transmission modes of satellite real-time telemetry and range measurement signals, the downlink channel design of KOMPSAT ground station using sub-carrier signal was processed. By considering the threshold signal-to-noise ratio of real-time 2 kbps telemetry signal and the required signal-to-noise ratio for satellite range measurement, the small-sized KOMPSAT downlink channel with G/T value of 6.5 dB/K was designed. The real G/T of implemented ground station was proven to be 6.62 dB/K when measured using the Sun. Moreover, through interface test with KOMPSAT, the ground station has shown the required link performance for real-time telemetry acquisition using sub-carrier and was consequently evaluated to be adequate for a transportable small-sized KOMPSAT ground station.
A simple disposable thick-film potentiometric strip has been developed and evaluated for hydroponics application. The strip consisted of low ion-selective electrodes (ISE) fabricated by screen-printing technology. The electrochemical responses of ion sensors for nitrate, ammonium, potassium, and magnesium were measured with specially designed 16-channel low voltage signal transducers. The analytical characteristics of the sensors were comparable with those of conventional ISE sensors. The thick-film sensors exhibit linear relationships over five concentration decades. The concentration of N $O_3$ - ion in standard solution can be determined by direct potentiometric measurements without any conditioning before measurements. However, measurement of $K^{+}$, N $H_4$$^{+}$, and $Mg^{2+}$ ionic concentrations in nutrient solutions seems not feasible.

This paper proposes a method that estimates MIMO channel characteristics analytically using a 3D ray tracing propagation model. We calculate the discrete spatial correlation between sub-channels by considering phase differences of paths, and using this, estimate the mean capacity upper bound of MIMO channel by Jensen's inequality. This analysis model is a deterministic model that do not approach stochastically through measurement nor approach statistically through Monte-Carlo simulations, so this model has high efficiency for time and cost. And based on the electromagnetic theory, this model may analyze quantitatively the parameters which can affect the channel capacity - antenna pattern, polarization mutual coupling, antenna structure and etc. This model may be used for the development of an optimal antenna structure for MIMO systems.
