  • Existing radars have been developed by applying RF sub-array algorithms, and recently, fully digital Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar algorithms have been implemented for vehicle radars. In this paper, the radar algorithm applying the Phased MIMO method to the hardware of the RF sub-array method, which is an unsecured technology, was implemented and verified in real time. In order to secure RF sub-array Phased MIMO algorithm technology, a hardware structure for FPGA-based real-time signal processing was presented, and performance was first predicted through design and simulation. Through this, the digital signal of FPGA-based broadband MIMO FMCW radar The processing hardware was developed, and the Phased MIMO radar algorithm of the RF sub-Array method was finally implemented and verified in real time. Based on this, it is judged that it will be possible to secure and apply core technologies necessary for terahertz band radar in the future.

  • In this paper, a technique for optimizing the sub-array system structure that can minimize the side lobe level of the phased-array antenna is proposed. Optimization of the proposed array antenna structure is to adjust the spacing between sub-arrays and sub-arrays by using a hexagonal array structure of one sub-array and a hexagonal sub-array for six hexagonal arrays, and thus the entire phased array antenna system of the radiation pattern was optimized. Compared to the 2-dimensional planar antenna system, the proposed technique maintains a gain of 24.3 dBi and a half-power beam-width of 8.46 degrees without change, and only reduces -3.4 dB and -6.5 dB in the x-axis and y-axis directions, respectively.

  • This study evaluated the acoustic performance of two configurations of serial HR arrays and lined HR arrays in the presence of grazing flow using a 3D numerical simulation. The dual, triple, and quad HR arrays were compared to the conventional HR array. The simulation results showed that the number of resonant frequencies increased with the number of serial HR arrays. The CTL did not significantly change with the number of serial HR arrays. The acoustic performance of the two, three, and four-lined HR arrays was compared to the conventional HR array. The results showed that the resonant frequency and TLmax increased with the number of lined HR arrays. The CTL also increased with the number of lined HR arrays. The effect of the grazing flow Mach number (Ma) was investigated on the four-lined HR array configuration and compared to the conventional HR configuration. TLmax and CTL decreased for both configurations with increasing Ma. The four-lined HR array configuration had significantly better acoustic performance than the conventional HR configuration. The TLmax and CTL increased by more than 300% when the configuration was changed from the conventional HR to the four-lined HR array at Ma = 0.The increment percentage decreased with increasing Ma.

  • Emerging gamma ray detection applications that utilize neutron-based interrogation result in the prompt emission of high-energy (>2 MeV) gamma-rays. Rapid imaging is enabled by scintillators that possess high density, high atomic number, and excellent energy resolution. In this paper, we evaluate the bright (50,000 photons/MeV) oxide scintillator, cerium-doped Gd2Al2Ga3O12 (GAGG(Ce)). A silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) array is coupled to a GAGG(Ce) scintillator array (12 × 12 pixels) and integrated into a coded-aperture based gamma-ray imaging system. A resistor-based symmetric charge division circuit was used reduce the multiplicity of the analog outputs from 144 to 4. The developed system exhibits 9.1%, 8.3%, and 8.0% FWHM energy resolutions at 511 keV, 662 keV, and 1173.2 keV, respectively. In addition, a pixel-identification resolution of 602 ㎛ FWHM was obtained from the GAGG(Ce) scintillator array.

  • Microstructure and mechanical properties of fibrous $A1_2O_3-(m-ZrO_2)/t-ZrO_2$ composite were investigated depending on the dimensional array. By the change of stacking arrangement of fibrous filaments, 2 and 3-dimensional fibrous composites were successfully obtained without bulk defects such as shrinkage cavity and cracks. The maximum mechanical properties were achieved In the 3-dimensional array composite, due to the fine fibrous and dense microstructure control, in which the values of vickers hardness, fracture toughness and bending strength were about 1507 Hv, $7.2MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ and 650 MPa, respectively.

  • To design and study the dynamic performance of safety structures, crash tests are needed. Method to get the angular accelerations at the time of impact by integating the Euler equations are introduced. Numerically stable 9-array system contains several 7 and 8-array sub-systems in it. Numerical stability of those latent sub-systems are studied using test files. All of the 8-array subsystems were found to be numerically stable. Six of the 7-array sub-systems were stable and other six of the 7-array sub-systems were unstable. Using this findings fail-safe measurement system can be developed.

  • We investigate the performance of multi-body wave energy converters (WECs). This investigation considers multiple scattering of water waves by the buoys of a WEC under the generalized mode approach. Predominantly, the effect of a WEC's configuration on its energy extraction is studied in this research. First, single-row terminator and single-column attenuator arrays of vertical cylinders have been studied. The performance of these attenuator arrays shows that the wall effect induced by the periodic buoys influences the wave propagation and energy extraction in these WECs. Further studies show that a single-row terminator array of vertical cylinders performs better than the corresponding single-column attenuator array. Subsequently, multi-row terminator arrays of vertical cylinders are investigated by conducting a parametric study. This parametric study shows that the hydrodynamic property of three resonance phenomena makes energy extraction efficiency drop down, and the magnitude of energy extracted oscillates between the resonance points in these WECs. Finally, a 4×8 terminator array of vertical cylinders is studied to determine the effect of various dx (x-directional distance between adjacent rows) within this WEC on its performance. In particular, this study enforces at least two equal dx values within the 4×8 terminator array of vertical cylinders. It shows that a small value of this dx leads to better energy extraction efficiency in some of these various dx arrays than that of a corresponding regular array with the same dx.

  • In this paper, we propose a new array antenna scheme which has an improved side lobe level (SLL) as well as a simplified feeding network and a high gain. The proposed array scheme is based on a non-uniformly excited sub-array. For analysis, we use an array factor of sub-array antenna. In the simulation results, the simulated SLL and gain provide more than 18.43 dB and 26.63 dBi, respectively. For the verification of the proposed design scheme, the prototype antenna with $16{\times}8$ radiating elements was designed by the proposed array scheme. The measured SLL and gain are more than 19.85 dB and 25.53 dBi, respectively. This measurement result indicates that the proposed array scheme is reasonable.

  • Let u be a function on a locally finite graph G = (V, E) and Ω be a bounded subset of V. Let 𝜀 > 0, p > 2 and 0 ≤ λ < λ1(Ω) be constants, where λ1(Ω) is the first eigenvalue of the discrete Laplacian, and h : V → ℝ be a function satisfying h ≥ 0 and $h{\not\equiv}0$. We consider a perturbed Yamabe equation, say $$\{\begin{array}{lll}-{\Delta}u-{\lambda}u={\mid}u{\mid}^{p-2}u+{\varepsilon}h,&&\text{ in }{\Omega},\\u=0,&&\text{ on }{\partial}{\Omega},\end{array}$$ where Ω and ∂Ω denote the interior and the boundary of Ω, respectively. Using variational methods, we prove that there exists some positive constant 𝜀0 > 0 such that for all 𝜀 ∈ (0, 𝜀0), the above equation has two distinct solutions. Moreover, we consider a more general nonlinear equation $$\{\begin{array}{lll}-{\Delta}u=f(u)+{\varepsilon}h,&&\text{ in }{\Omega},\\u=0,&&\text{ on }{\partial}{\Omega},\end{array}$$ and prove similar result for certain nonlinear term f(u).

  • Until now, Pollard's Rho algorithm has been known as the most efficient way for discrete algebraic problems to decrypt symmetric keys. However, the algorithm is being studied on how to further reduce the complexity of O(${\sqrt{p}}$) performance, along with the disadvantage of having to store the giant stride m=⌈${\sqrt{p}}$⌉ data. This paper proposes an array method for cycle detection in discrete logarithms. The proposed method reduces the number of updates of stack memory by at least 73%. This is done by only updating the array when (xi<0.5xi-1)∩(xi<0.5(p-1)). The proposed array method undergoes the same number of modular calculation as stack method, but significantly reduces the number of updates and the execution time for array through the use of a binary search method.
