XML is becoming a de facto standard for the representation and exchange of data, and XML itself is well structured to store and manage data, but it is difficult to understand the document structure at a glance due to its diverse and complex expressions. Thus, it is not appropriate to use it as a tool of conceptual model. In this paper, we propose a method to transform XML schema document structure into conceptual model. To do this, we describe CMXML as a conceptual modeling tool and present transformation rules and data structures for transforming an XML schema structure into CMXML diagram. In the transformation procedure, the XML schema document is input and the CMXML diagram is generated by applying the transformation rules.
With the advent of XML and database languages armed with the object-oriented concept and deductive logic, the problem of efficient query processing for them has become a major issue. We describe a way of processing semi-structured XML data through an implementation of a Deductive and Object-oriented Database (DOODB) language with the explanation of query processing. We have shown how to convert an XML data model to a DOODB data model. We have then presented an efficient query processing method based on Connection Graph Resolution. We also present a knowledge-based query processing method that uses the homomorphism of objects in the database and the associative rule of substitutions.

The use of data analysis on large volumes of data constitutes a challenge for deducting knowledge and new information. Data can be heterogeneous and complex: Semi-structured data (Example: XML), Data from social networks (Example: Tweets) and Factual data (Example: Spreading of Covid-19). In this paper, we propose a generic multidimensional model in order to analyze complex data, according to several dimensions.
XML used rapid method of meta language representation in internet for information transmission. In addition to XML Schema used frequency specification to variety data type. This thesis designed to Simple Type meta model of XML schema using UML. But because structure of XML schema complicate and suppose variety data type we can recognize many difficult matter to user's apprehension and application of model properties that appeared UML. To way out of this matter this study could specified clearly to structured expression in XML schema meta model that is applied OCL specification and together, come up with method of detailed design to parse tree and token generation for lexical and symmentics analysis in compile step on this study foundation.
XML has recently considered as a new standard for data presentation and exchange on the web, many researches are on going to develop applications and index mechanism to store and retrieve XML documents efficiently. In this paper, design a Main-Memory based XML storage system for efficient management of XML document. And propose structured retrieval of XML document tree which reduce the traverse of XML document tree using element type information included user queries. Proposed indexing mechanism has flexibilities for dynamic data update. Finally, for query processing of XML document include Link information, design a index structure of table type link information on observing XLink standards.
As XML is gaining unqualified success in being adopted as a universal data representation and exchange format, particularly in the World Wide Web, the problem of querying XML documents poses interesting challenges to database researcher. Several structural XML query processing methods, including XISS and XR-tree, for past years, have been proposed for fast query processing. However, structural XML query processing has the problem of requiring expensive Join cost for twig path query Recently, sequence matching based XML query processing methods, including ViST and PRIX, have been proposed to solve the problem of structural XML query processing methods. Through sequence matching based XML query processing methods match structured queries against structured data as a whole without breaking down the queries into sub queries of paths or nodes and relying on join operations to combine their results. However, determining the structural relationship of ViST is incorrect because its numbering scheme is not optimized. And PRIX requires many processing time for matching LPS and NPS about XML data trees and queries. Therefore, in this paper, we propose efficient sequence matching method u sing the bottom-up query processing for efficient XML query processing. Also, to verify the superiority of our index structure, we compare our sequence matching method with ViST and PRIX in terms of query processing with linear path or twig path including wild-card('*' and '//').
HTML is mostly stored in native file systems instead of specialized repositories such as a database. Like HTML, XML, the standard for the exchange and the representation of data in the Internet, is mostly resident on native file systems. However. since XML data is irregular and verbose, the disk space and the network bandwidth are wasted compared to those of regularly structured data. To overcome this inefficiency of XML data, the research on the compression of XML data has been conducted. Among recently proposed XML compression techniques, some techniques do not support querying compressed data, while other techniques which support querying compressed data blindly encode data values using predefined encoding methods without considering the types of data values which necessitates partial decompression for processing range queries. As a result, the query performance on compressed XML data is degraded. Thus, this research proposes an XML compression technique which supports direct and efficient evaluations of queries on compressed XML data. This XML compression technique adopts an encoding method, called dictionary encoding, to encode each tag of XML data and applies proper encoding methods for encoding data values according to the inferred types of data values. Also, through the implementation and the performance evaluation of the XML compression technique proposed in this research, it is shown that the implemented XML compressor efficiently compresses real-life XML data lets and achieves significant improvements on query performance for compressed XML data.

Importance of XML as a target of Data Mining is growing because XML is used generally as a standard markup language for describing structured data. Especially researches have been done about extracting wanted informations by applying association rules to XML documents. But there are few development about solving the problems of method for efficiently obtaining informations from similar kinds of XML documents. To solve the problem this paper tries to suggest the method by which common XML structure is extracted form the same kinds of XML documents having a various XML schemas. The resulted schema structure is supposed to be important one as a preliminary job because it helps us to acquire the useful informations from various kinds of documents by unifying their structures.

XML is the most popular platform-independent data expression which is used to communicate between loosely coupled heterogeneous systems such as B2B Applications or Workflow systems. The powerful query language XQuery has been developed to support diverse needs for querying XML documents. XQuery is designed to configure results from diverse data sources into a uniquely structured query result. Therefore, it became the standard for the XML query language. Although the latest XQuery supports heavy search functions including iterations, the grouping mechanism for data is too primitive and makes the query expression difficult and complex. Therefore, this work is focused on supporting the groupby clause in the query expression to process XQuery grouping. We suggest it to be a more efficient way to process grouping for restructuring and aggregation functions on XML data. We propose an XQuery EBNF that includes the groupby clause and implemented an XQuery processing system with grouping functions based on the eXist Native XML Database.
Information exchange on XML such as B2B electronic commerce is spreading. Therefore the systematic and stable management mechanism for storing the exchanged information is needed. For this goal there are many research activities for connection between XML application and relational database. But because XML data have hierarchical structures and relational database can store only flat-structured data, we need to store XML data in object-oriented database that support hierarchical structure. Accordingly the modeling methodology for storing XML data in object-oriented database is needed. In this parer, the transforming methods based on object model from XML DTD to object-oriented database schema is proposed. For this, we first introduce mapping methods that map XML DTD to object model and then we propose soem methods that transform from the object model to object-oriented database schema.
