UML 클래스를 이용한, 관계형 데이터베이스 기반의 XML 응용을 위한 통합 설계 방법론 개발 (A Unified Design Methodology Development For XML Application based on Relational Database using UML Class)

  • Nowadays an information exchange on XML such as B2B electronic commerce is spreading. Therefore the systematic and stable management mechanism for storing the exchanged information is needed. For this goal there are many research activities for connection between XML application and relational database. But because XML data have hierarchical structures and relational database can store only flat-structured data, we need to make the conversion rule which changes the hierarchical architecture to 2-dimensional information. Accordingly the modeling methodology for storing each structured information in relational database is needed. In this paper, we introduce a XML modeling methodology to design W3C XML schema using UML and we propose a unified design methodology for relational database schema to store XML data efficiently in relational databases. In the second place, in order to verify objectivity of a unified design methodology. By the way of Ronald Bourret, First we introduce the method of the transformation from XML schema to object model and second we translate object model into relational database schema. Therefore we show the mutual consistency between those consequence, and so can verify a unified design methodology.

구조적 분석 산출물을 이용한 객체 모델 유도 방법론 (A Methodology for Deriving An Object Model by Using Structured Analysis Results)

  • In conventional analysis methods, data and process are loosely coupled for building information systems. Several object oriented approaches have been proposed to integrate data and process. However, object oriented analysis requires a radical paradigm and thus system analysts find difficulties in generating object models direcctly from end users. To alleviate these difficulties, this paper proposes a methodology for deriving an object model by using structured analysis results. Objects are obtianed primarily from entities in Entity-Relationship Diagram. Methods are obtained through the analysis of the relationship between processes and data stores in Data Flow Diagram Methods are assigned to the objects by using object/process matrices. A real-life case is illustrated to demonstrate the usefulness of the methodology.

  • Ontology is an indispensable component in intelligent and semantic processing of knowledge and information, such as in semantic web. However, ontology construction requires vast amount of data collection and arduous efforts in processing these un-structured data. This study proposed a methodology to automatically construct and generate ontologies from Sejong Electronic Dictionary. As Sejong Electronic Dictionary is structured in XML format, it can be processed automatically by computer programmed tools into an OWL(Web Ontology Language)-based ontologies as specified in W3C . This paper presents the process and concrete application of this methodology.

Production of Lipase-catalyzed Structured Lipid from Olive Oil with Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids

  • Acidolysis of olive oil with omega-3 (n-3) polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) was carried out to produce a structured lipid. Novozym $435^{(R)}$ from Candida antarctica was used as the biocatalyst. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine optimum conditions for lipase-catalyzed enrichment of olive oil. Three factors, 5 levels, central composite design was used. The effects of incubation time, temperature, and substrate mole ratio on incorporation ratio (n-3 fatty acids/total fatty acids, %) were investigated. From the evaluation of response surface graphs, the optimal conditions for incorporation of long chain n-3 PUFAs into olive oil were $40-60^{\circ}C$ for temperature, 30-45 hr for reaction time, and 3:1-5:1 (n-3 fatty acids/olive oil) for substrate mole ratio. Experiments conducted under optimized conditions predicted by the model equation obtained from RSM yielded structured lipids with 50.8% n-3 PUFAs. This value agreed well with that predicted by the model. Oxidative stability tests showed that the product was more susceptible to oxidation than unmodified olive oil. Antioxidant addition improved the oxidative stability of the product.

  • Presented in this paper is a methodology for combining a Bayesian statistical approach with Data Quality Objectives (a structured decision-making method) to provide increased levels of confidence in analytical data when approaching a waste boundary. Development of sampling and analysis plans for the characterisation of radioactive waste often use a simple, one pass statistical approach as underpinning for the sampling schedule. Using a Bayesian statistical approach introduces the concept of Prior information giving an adaptive sample strategy based on previous knowledge. This aligns more closely with the iterative approach demanded of the most commonly used structured decision-making tool in this area (Data Quality Objectives) and the potential to provide a more fully underpinned justification than the more traditional statistical approach. The approach described has been developed in a UK regulatory context but is translated to a waste stream from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to demonstrate how the methodology can be applied in this context to support decision making regarding the ultimate disposal option for radioactive waste in a more global context.

  • In this paper robust stability conditions are obtained for linear dynamical systems under structured nonlinear time-varying perturbations, using absolute stability theory and the concept of dissipative systems. The conditions are expressed in terms of solutions to linear matrix inequality(LMI). Based on this result, a synthesis methodology is developed for robust feedback controllers with worst-case H$_{2}$ perforrmance via convex optimization and LMI formulation.

  • Conventional fuzzy systems have serious problems in dealing with the nonlinear approximations on high-dimensional spaces due to the explosive increase of the number of fuzzy IF-THEN rules. In order to avoid such problems, this paper proposes a tree-structured fuzzy system in which semi-local basis functions form its basic elements, and develops a training algorithm for the proposed system based on the evolution program and LMS rule. The experimental studies demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed methodology.

  • 소프트웨어의 개발 방법은 환경의 변화에 따라 계속해서 발전되었다. 구조적 방법론, 정보공학 방법론 그리고 객체지향 방법론이 이런 변화의 큰 흐름이다. 각 방법론은 특징과 장점이 있고, 적용되는 분야가 다르다. 실무를 수행하는 엔지니어들은 각 방법론을 적용하는 것은 익숙하지만, 구조적 방법론이나 정보공학 방법론을 통합하여 적용하는 것에 익숙하지 않다. 그래서 방법론이 가지는 효과를 최대한 얻을 수 없다. 이런 점에 착안하여 각 방법론의 적용 대상에 대해 구조적 방법론, 정보공학 방법론을 통합하여 적용하는 방법에 대한 것을 정리하고 사례를 제시하고자 한다.

  • This paper presents a formalism-based methodology and its implemented environment which constitutes a sound framework for real-time systems development. The software and/or hardware systems developed in such a formal manner are well structured and maintainable. We first propose a set-theoretic VSSS (Variable Structure System Specification) formalism. This formalism is the core of the presented methodology which supports a means of formal specification for real-time systems. We then develop the environment, including VSSS language definition, a translator for the language, and supporting libraries for real-time execution. Finally, a demonstration of the methodology in development of a real-time event manager, a subsystem of an ATM-based communication system, shows the correctness and efficiency of the methodology.

  • This paper presents a structured framework for developing the embedded subsystem, called ESDMP (Embedded Subsystem Development Methodology for POP), which is one of core components at the development of POP (Point Of Production) system. It is essential that embedded subsystem development methodology must be closely related to the general information system development methodology from the early stage of system development. Therefore, this paper investigates the PDSM (Production System Development Methodology) that is developed by Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs and widely utilized at the fields of POP system development, and proposes the embedded subsystem development methodology aligned with each step of PSDM. The main characteristics of proposed methodology are as follows : First, it is developed to link each step of embedded subsystem development with relating steps of PSDM from the early stage of feasibility study. Second, it provides the procedure for designing and implementing hardware and software simultaneously. Third, it includes the method of reusability for developed products and modules.
