  • The three-dimensional (3-D) NAND flash structure with fully charge storage using edge fringing field effect is presented, and its programming characteristic is evaluated. We successfully confirmed that this structure using fringing field effect provides good program characteristics showing sufficient threshold voltage ($V_T$) margin by technology computer-aided design (TCAD) simulation. From the simulation results, we expect that program speed characteristics of proposed structure have competitive compared to other 3D NAND flash structure. Moreover, it is estimated that this structural feature using edge fringing field effect gives better design scalability compared to the conventional 3D NAND flash structures by scaling of the hole size for the vertical channel. As a result, the proposed structure is one of the candidates of Terabit 3D vertical NAND flash cell with lower bit cost and design scalability.

  • A retractable-roof spatial structure is frequently used for a stadium and sports hall. A retractable-roof spatial structure allows natural lighting, ventilation, optimal conditions for grass growth with opened roof. It can also protects users against various weather conditions and give optimal circumstances for different activities. Dynamic characteristics of a retractable-roof spatial structure is changed based on opened or closed roof condition. A tuned mass damper (TMD) is widely used to reduce seismic responses of a structure. When a TMD is properly tuned, its control performance is excellent. Opened or closed roof condition causes dynamic characteristics variation of a retractable-roof spatial structure resulting in off-tuning. This dynamic characteristics variation was investigated. Control performance of a passive TMD and a smart TMD were evaluated under off-tuning condition.

  • Recently, many membrane structure buildings are constructed with the trend of multi functional and high technological construction. The membrane structure has the characteristics such as distinguished architectural shape which can make variable space creation and can make economic use of material. Therefore, it is in the spotlight of sport complex, various concert hall, and public service buildings. However, the acoustic study of membrane structure has not been following up the increasing demand for the membrane structure. In this study, the acoustic characteristics of membrane structure will be studied and analyzed using architectural acoustic factors based on acoustic design theory And also, the differences between theoretical exhortation value and outcome of study will be studied with the basis of architectural acoustic material study.

For the purpose of this study, regarding housing purchase decision making process as a system, environmental characteristics as inputs, marital role structure and the satisfaction of purchase management as outputs, relation between inputs and outputs; the understanding about these components was established as research problem. And then the framework of analysis being based on theoretical references was suggested, and questionnaires were administrated to housewives. The result of this study is as follows: 1) Marital role structure was differently shown according to the phases of decision making process. 2) Marital role structure was differently shown according to the level of environmental characteristics. 3) The statisfaction of purchase manag ment was influenced by environmental characteristics. According to these results, home management can be understood in the view of system. That is, the morphostatic characteristics of family system can be grasped in environmental supra system in conideration of the structure of managerial sub system; the morphogenic characteristics of family system can be grasped centering on the relationship to environment.

  • The main objective of this study was to investigate Korean university students' understanding of the structure of the atom based on a Lakatosian view. In this study, we examined twenty-three Korean university students' understandings of atomic structure using an open-ended questionnaire. The participants were all junior students majoring in chemistry education in Korea. The characteristics of students' understanding were categorized into three philosophical stances based on the classification criteria. Assertions were constructed concerning students' written descriptions of the development of scientific knowledge with respect to atomic structure: (a) characteristics of positivist response; (b) characteristics of transitional response; (c) characteristics of Lakatosian response; and (d) tendencies in students' responses.

  • Present transistors which have vertical structure show increased parasitic capacitance characteristics in accordance with the increase of non-active base area and collector area, consequently have disadvantage for high speed switching performance. In this paper, a horizontal structure transistor which has minimized parasitic capacitance in virtue of SDB(Silicon Direct Bonding) wafer and oxide sidewall isolation utilizing silicon trench technology is presented. Its structural characteristics were designed by ATHENA(SUPREM4), the process simulator from SILVACO International, and its performance was proven by ATLAS, the device simulator from SILVACO International. The performance of the proposed horizontal structure transistor was certified through the VCE-lC characteristics curve, $h_{FE}$ -IC characteristics, and GP-plot.

  • The purposes of this paper are to find out the characteristics of organizational members' cognitive structure for the effective acceptance of a six sigma innovative method in the organization. The author hypothesized the characteristics of individual cognitive structure is one of the most important factors on the acceptance of a six sigma method in the organizations for verifying through literature reviews, in-depth interviews and an analysis of questionnaire. This study is the first trial to corroborate the influence of characteristics of individual cognitive structure on the acceptance of a six sigma method. This can be utilized as an integrated appraisal model for the evaluation of acceptance of a six sigma method. The result not only helps the organizations that a six sigma method was recently introduced, to decrease the trial-and-errors experienced by the preceding groups, but can be used as fundamental data to establish an concrete strategy of a six sigma acceptance.

  • The stone pagoda structure is treated as a discontinuous masonry structure, and the contact surface characteristics between stones is a very important factor in the discontinuum behavior analysis. So, it is necessary to find out material and structural characteristics of stone contact surface to perform the structural analysis for safety evaluation. Accordingly, it is important to analyze the material properties of stone surface and secure the structural characteristics through various contact surface states. Therefore, in this study, various test specimens applying the filler between the surface roughness and the stone in the contact surface treatment technique of the stone pagoda were manufactured, and compression test and shear test were carried out. Also, we analyzed the material and structural characteristics of the stone contact surface through the comparison of experimental results.

  • The objective of this study is to obtain characteristics of early age pore-structure and carbonation of concrete using ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS). The durability of GGBFS concrete should be evaluated for wide use of the GGBFS. As for that evaluation, an analysis on early age pore-structure characteristics of GGBFS concrete are very important, Carbonation depths of GGBFS concrete, which are known to be larger than that of OPC, are different according to replacement ratios and fineness of slag. Because sea sand as fine aggregate is much used recently, it is also necessary to analyze characteristics of carbonation of GGBFS concrete. In this study, The micro-pore structure formation characteristics of GGBFS concrete are obtained through the test of GGBFS mortars with different fineness and replacement ratio of GGBFS. The carbonation of GGBFS concrete is also investigated by acclerated carbonation test for early age GGBFS concrete.

  • The purpose of this paper is the optimum modification of dynamic characteristics of stiffened plate structure including the number of stiffener. This paper shows the optimum structural modification method by dynamic sensitivity analysis and quasi-least squares method and considers it's validity. In the method of the optimization, finite element method, sensitivity analysis and optimum structural modification method are used. The change of natural frequency and total weight are made to be an objective function. Thickness of plate, the number of stiffener and cross section moment of stiffener become a design variable. The dynamic characteristics of stiffened plate structure is analyzed using finite element method. Next, rate of change of dynamic characteristics by the change of design variable is calculated using the sensitivity analysis. Then, amount of change of design variable is calculated using optimum structural modification method. It is shown that the results are effective in the optimum modification for dynamic characteristics of the stiffened plate structure including the number of stiffener.
