Structural light weight aggregate concrete are made with both coarse and fine light weight aggregates, but it is common with the high strength concrete to replace all or part with normal weight sand be called class 1 structural light weight aggregate concrete. Fire resistance of structural light weight aggregate concrete are determined by properties of high water content ratio and explosive spalling. Especially, structural light weight aggregate concrete is occurred serious fire performance deterioration by explosive spalling stem from thermal stress and water vapor pressure. This study is concerned with experimentally investigating fire resistance of class 1 structural light weight concrete. From the test result, class 1 structural light weight concrete is happened explosive spalling. The decrease of cross section caused by explosive spalling made sharp increasing gradient of inner temperature.

Recently prestressed concrete bridges are generally used instead of reinforced concrete. PSC is more durable than RC because it can reduce crack problems, reinforcement corrosion, leakage and carbonation etc. And also PSC is more effective because there is no crack in tension area, and the entire concrete section is considered in section analysis. And it can reduce section size because vertical component by prestressing force can reduce the shear force. However, using high strength concrete can increase the self weight of bridge because of it's higher density. So the hollowed PPC girder with light weight aggregate can be a alternative. In this study the hollowed PPC girder with light weight aggregate is designed and the performance of hollowed PPC girder is evaluated by experimental tests as well as numerical analysis. As a result, The hollowed PPC girder of light aggregate behaved fully elastically under service load of 110kN, and the plastic behavior was showed after elastic behavior through experimental test, and it can be also estimated by numerical analysis.

The purpose of this research is to seek properties of flowing light-weight aggregate concrete and possibility of application. The experimental analysis results by using light-weight aggregate and industrial waste such flyash, furnace slag are as follow. 1) The research shows that flowing light-weight aggregate concrete of slump 23~27cm, slump flow 58~69 cm is possible, but material segregation is appeared above slump 26.5cm and slump flow 65 cm. 2) If mixing ratio of flyash is increase, strength deterioration is about 25 % in early age. It showed that effectiveness of long time strength improvement because strength manifestation ratio is above 95% in a long term. 3) This research showed possibility of substitution of blast furnace slag because strength deterioration by using mixing of furnace slag was appeared small deterioration range as below 10 %. 4) Each experimental compressive strength ratios were 77 %(1st week), 86 %(2nd week), 109 %(8th week), 115 %(13th week), 125 % (26th week) on the basis of 28 days. If mixing ratio of flyash is increase, long term strength increase ratio is improved.

Sandwich panel made by foamed styrene and ployuretane has been used generally in the construction area because of the high thermal conductivity and light weight but they occur harmful gases to both bodies and environments in the high temperature over $50^{\circ}C$. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate the physical properties of light-weight panel using the non-structural lightweight aggregate as a part of the substitution of foamed styrene and ployuretane. This paper dealt with the effect of the addition of polymer dispersion such as SBR, St/BA-1 and St/BA-2 having polymer-cement ratio as 5, 10, 15% and the filling ratio of continuous void as 50, 60% on the strength of polymer-modified sandwich panel core. From the results, we could know that the compressive and flexural strength of the sandwich panel core using non-structural lightweight aggregate and polymer dispersion such as SBR, St/BA-1 and St/BA-2 tended to be increased with an increase in the polymer-cement ratio and the filling ratio of continuous void.

The serious issue of tall building is to ensure the fire resistance of high strength concrete. Therefore, Solving methods are required to control the explosive spalling. The fire resistant finishing method is installed by applying a fire resistant material as a light-weight material to structural steel and concrete surface. This method can reduce the temperature increase of the reinforcement embedded in structural steel and concrete at high temperature due to the installation thickness control. This study is interested in identifying the effectiveness of light-weight fire protection material compounds including the inorganic admixture such as fly ash, meta-kaolin and light-weight aggregate as the fire resistant finishing materials through the analysis of fire resistance and components properties at high temperature. Also, this paper is concerned with change in microstructure and dehydration of the light-weight fire protection materials at high temperatures. The testing methods of fire protection materials in high temperature properties are make use of SEM and XRD. The study results show that the light-weight fire resistant finishing material composed of fly ash, meta-kaolin and light-weight aggregate has the thermal stability of the slight decrease of compressive strength at high temperature. These thermal stability is caused by the ceramic binding capacity induced by alkali activation reaction by the reason of the thermal analysis result not showing the decomposition of calcium hydrate. Developed light-weight fire protection materials showed good stability in high Temperatures. Thus, the results indicate that it is possible to fireproof panels, fire protection of materials.

The various properties of concrete have been required, as civil engineering structures are getting larger and complicated. Therefore, the high performance of concrete, such as high strength, high fluidity, and low hydration heat, has been investigated largely. In this study, the properties of lightweight concrete-reducing self-weight of structure member have been studied in order to check the applicability of lightweight aggregate concrete to structural material. The experiments on compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, unit weight, and modulus of elasticity have been conducted with varying PLC, LWCI, LWCII, LWCII-SF5, LWCII-SF15 to check the basic properties. The compressive strength of 21MPa was obtained easily by using lightweight aggregate concrete and the addition of silica fume to increase the compressive strength slightly. To use lightweight aggregate concrete for civil engineering structures, systematic and rigorous studies are necessary.

In recent days, while taller and more massive structures such as huge bridges and super skyscrapers have been welcomed, the structural stabilization in design and construction have been gradually limited due to the major weakness of current concrete which is relatively heavier when compared with its strength. To improve the weakness of the current concrete, The lightweight concrete with light weight and high strength should be used; however, not many researchers in Korea have studied on the lightweight concrete. Generally, artificial lightweight aggregate produced through high-temperature-plasticization has a possibility of its body-expansion with many bubbles. Therefore, depending on the size of aggregate, the effects of bubbles on the specific weight and strength of the lightweight concrete should be studied. In this study, considering grain-size, the mix design of the artificial lightweight aggregate produced through the high-temperature-plasticization and the body-expansion of waste and clay from the fire power plant in Korea was conducted. The experiment to analyze the variation in specific weight and strength of the lightweight concrete was followed. From these experiments, the optimized grain-size ratio of the artificial lightweight aggregate for the enhancement of high-strength from the lightweight concrete was revealed.
This study aims to investigate the influence of scoria aggregate (SA) and silica fume (SF) as a replacement of conventional aggregate and ordinary Portland cement (OPC), respectively. Three types of concrete were prepared namely normal weight concrete (NWC) using limestone aggregate (LSA) and OPC (control specimen), lightweight concrete (LWC) using SA and OPC, and LWC using SA and partial SF (SLWC). The representative workability and compressive strength properties of the developed concrete were evaluated, and the results were correlated with non-destructive ultrasonic pulse velocity and Schmidt hammer tests. The LWC and SLWC yielded compressive strength of around 30 MPa and 33 MPa (i.e., 78-86% of control specimens), respectively. The findings indicate that scoria can be beneficially utilized in the development of structural lightweight concrete. Present renewable sources of aggregate will preserve the natural resources for next generation. The newly produced eco-friendly construction material is intended to break price barriers in all markets and draw attraction of incorporating scoria based light weight construction in Saudi Arabia and GCC countries. Findings of the SWOT analysis indicate that high logistics costs for distributing the aggregates across different regions in Saudi Arabia and clients' resistant to change are among the major obstacles to the commercialized production and utilization of lightweight concrete as green construction material. The findings further revealed that huge scoria deposits in Saudi Arabia, and the potential decrease in density self-weight of structural elements are the major drivers and enablers for promoting the adoption of lightweight concrete as alternative green construction material in the construction sector.
A recent development of seismic design, which is required among environmentally friendly members, increased the concern on light-weight concrete. Extending around the building, the structural design which is applied for light-weight concrete has been increased. This study therefore evaluates the bending resistance and the shear resistance involved using four specimens that were manufactured and tested. The parameters used in this study exist. This study investigates the structural performance of composite slab using light-weight concrete with KCI (2007).
