Nanotechnology has emerged as a promising avenue for enhancing musical structures. In this study, we analyze the static behavior of laser harp (i.e., electronic musical instrument) reinforced with Zinc Oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles. Leveraging the piezoelectric properties of ZnO nanoparticles, the structure is subjected to an electric field for intelligent control. The electronic musical structure is situated in a foundation with vertical springs and shear modulus constants. We employ the exponential Shear Deformation Beam Theory (ESDBT) to mathematically model the structure. A micro-electro-mechanical model is employed to determine the equivalent properties of the system. By utilizing nonlinear stress-strain relations, energy methods, and Hamilton's principle, we derive the motion equations. The buckling load of the electronic musical beam is calculated using the Difference Quadrature Method (DQM). The primary objective of this study is to present a mathematical model for electronic musical beams and determining the buckling load of the structure and to investigate the influence of nanotechnology and electric fields on its buckling behavior. The buckling is the case when the structure becomes deforms and unstable. Our findings reveal that the application of negative external voltage to the electronic musical structure increases both the stiffness and the buckling load of the musical system. Furthermore, reinforcing the electronic musical structure with ZnO nanoparticles results in an increased buckling load. Notably, the maximum enhancement in the 28-day compressive and tensile strengths of samples containing zinc oxide nanoparticles compared to the control sample resulting in increases of 18.70% and 3.77%, respectively.

Due to the complex mechanism and various parameters that affect shear behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) members, models on shear tend to be complex and difficult to utilize for design of structural members, and empirical relationships formulated with limited test data often work lot members having a specific range of influencing parameters on shear. As an alternative approach tot solving this problem, artificial neural networks have been suggested by some researchers. In this paper, artificial neural networks were used to predict shear strengths of RC beams without shear reinforcement. Especially, a large database that consists of shear test results of 398 RC members without shear reinforcement was used for artificial neural network analysis. Three well known approaches for shear strength of RC members, ACI 318-02 shear provision, Zsutiy's equation, and Okamura's relationship, are also evaluated with test results in the shear database and compared with neural network approach. While ACI 318-02 provided inaccurate predictions for RC members without shear reinforcement, the empirical equations by Zsutty and Okamura provided more improved prediction of Shear strength than ACI 318-02. The artificial neural networks, however provided the best prediction of shear strengths of RC beams without shear reinforcement that was closest to test results.

In this paper, we study the biaxial buckling analysis of nonlocal MEE(magneto-electro-elastic) nano plates based on the first-order shear deformation theory. The in-plane electric and magnetic fields can be ignored for MEE(magneto-electro-elastic) nano plates. According to magneto-electric boundary condition and Maxwell equation, the variation of magnetic and electric potentials along the thickness direction of the MME plate is determined. In order to reformulate the elastic theory of MEE(magneto-electro-elastic) nano-plate, the nonlocal differential constitutive relations of Eringen is used. Using the variational principle, the governing equations of the nonlocal theory are discussed. The relations between nonlocal and local theories are investigated by computational results. Also, the effects of nonlocal parameters, in-plane load directions, and aspect ratio on structural responses are studied. Computational results show the effects of the electric and magnetic potentials. These computational results can be useful in the design and analysis of advanced structures constructed from MEE(magneto-electro-elastic) materials and may be the benchmark test for the future study.
This study aims to figure out the effects of dental hygienists' professionalism and self-efficacy on job satisfaction using structural equations. This research conducted a survey to 616 study subjects. According to the analysis using SPSSWIN 18.0 and AMOS 20, the results are as follows : 1. It was shown that the dental hygienists' professionalism gained 3.34 points, self-efficacy was 3.76 points, and job satisfaction received 3.36 points. 2. It was found that as their age was higher, educational degree was higher, they were married, and working experience was more, their professionalism, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction were higher, which showed statistically significant difference. 3. Regarding the study model, there was positive effect as the correlation coefficient of professionalism and self efficacy was .69, that of professionalism and job satisfaction was .33, that of self-efficacy and job satisfaction was .59. In other words, there was correlation between professionalism and self-efficacy. When self-efficacy was higher than professionalism, job satisfaction also increased. Job satisfaction is affected by various environments within an organization and each individual's internal factors. The reason why job satisfaction is important is that along with the medical service quality and productivity, it is also associated with dental hygienists' individual life quality. In order to cope with this changeful time, it is needed for an organization to make efforts for change to enhance dental hygienists' job satisfaction, and also it is necessary to make endeavors so that dental hygienists can have confidence in their job and their professionalism and self-efficacy can be improved.

This study examined the structural effectiveness of the unbonded technique originally developed for seismic strengthening of unreinforced masonry walls on the basis of the prestressed steel bars and glass fiber (GF) grids. The masonry walls were strengthened by using individual steel bars or GF grids and their combination. Test results showed that the proposed technique was favorable in enhancing the strength, stiffness, and ductility of the masonry walls. When compared with the lateral load capacity, stiffness at the ascending branch of the lateral load-displacement curve, and energy dissipation capacity of the unstrengthened control wall, the increasing ratios were 110%, 120%, and 360%, respectively, for the walls strengthened with the individual GF grids, 140%, 130%, and 510%, respectively, for the walls strengthened with the individual steel bars, and 160%, 130%, and 840%, respectively, for the walls strengthened with the combination of steel bars and GF grids. The measured lateral load capacities of masonry walls strengthened with the developed technique were in relatively good agreement with the predictions by the equations proposed by Yang et al. Overall, the developed technique is quite promising in enhancing the seismic performance of unreinforced masonry walls.

In this study, to analyze the correlation of surface chloride and corrosion amount level according to the installation location of steel members exposed to the marine environment, the surface chloride and mean corrosion depth were evaluated by member units for box girder members of the offshore steel bridge and box specimens. The surface chloride was measured monthly using the Bresle method for one year. The corrosion amount was evaluated by converting the weight loss due to corrosion products generated in the monitoring steel plate into mean corrosion depth. As a measurement result of the surface chloride and corrosion amount, relative differences in surface chloride and mean corrosion depth were appeared depending on the shape or installation location of the steel members. Moreover, even if members of the same shape were installed in the same bridge, it was confirmed that the corrosion amount was increased locally and rapidly. The tendency of corrosion amount depending on the surface chloride was evaluated to analyze the correlation between surface chloride and corrosion amount, and the relation equations that can asseses the corrosion amount depending on the surface chloride were analyzed. From the results of the correlation between surface chloride and corrosion amount, it was found that the corrosion amount of the steel member affected by the surface chloride was varied up to about 1.15 times depending on the structural detail.

In this study, Tridimensional Hybrid Isolation System(THIS) was proposed as a vibration isolator for traffic loads, combining vertical and horizontal isolation systems. Its efficacy in improving serviceability for vertical vibration was analytically evaluated. Firstly, for the analysis, the major vibration modes of the existing apartment were identified through eigenvalue analysis for the system and pulse response analysis for the bedroom slab using commercial structural analysis software. Subsequently, a 16-story model with horizontal, vertical and rotational degrees of freedom for each slab was numerically organized to represent the achieved modes. The dynamic analysis for the measured acceleration from an adjacent ground to high-speed railway was performed by state-space equations with the stiffness and damping ratio of THIS as variables. The result indicated that as the vertical period ratio increased, the threshold period ratio where the slab response started to be suppressed varied. Specifically, when the period ratio is greater than or equal to 5, the acceleration levels of all slabs decreased to approximately 70% or less compared to the non-isolated condition. On the other hand, it was ascertained that the influence of damping ratios on the response control of THIS is inconsequential in the analysis. Finally, the improvement in vertical vibration performance of THIS was evaluated according to design guidelines for floor vibration of AIJ, SCI and AISC. It was confirmed that, after the application of THIS, the residential performance criteria were met, whereas the non-isolated structure failed to satisfy them.
There are many problems in application of FRP reinforcing bars as shear reinforcement, since bending of FRP bars is not a feasible process on construction site. Even though FRP bars can be manufactured in bent shape, they have lower strength at bent location. However, there are no serious problems to use FRP bars as flexural reinforcement. Plates or slabs like bridge decks, in general, do not need shear reinforcements. These types of members with FRP flexural reinforcement have lower shear strength than those with conventional steel flexural reinforcement. However, reliable process or equation for shear strength estimation of FRP reinforced concrete without shear reinforcement are not established, yet. In this study, predicted shear strength obtained from available design equations and assessment equations are compared with 211 experimental results. The results showed that among the current design codes, the Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) and the Institution of Structural Engineers (ISE) provided the best estimation. ACI 440.1R-06 provided conservative results with degree of dispersion similar to that of ISE. In addition, regression analysis on the collected experimental results was conducted to develop regression models. As a result, a new reliable shear strength equation was proposed.
Recently, application of composite materials such as fiber reinforced concretes(FRCs) and fiber reinforced plastics(FRPs) in conjunction with conventional structural components has become one of the main research areas. A proper use of advanced composite materials requires understanding their resistance mechanism and failure mode when they are applied to structures or their components. Particular considerations are given in this research to develop an analytical model which can predict the nonlinear flexural responses of bonded and unbonded prestressed concrete beams possibly having layers of different cementitious composite matrices in a section and/or FRP tendons. The block concept is used, which can be regarded as an intermediate modeling method between the couple method with one block and the layered method with multiply sliced layers in a section. In order to find a particular deflection point of a beam under load, solutions to the 2N-variables are found numerically by using approximate N-force equilibrium equations and N-moment equilibirum equations. The model is shown to successfully predict the flexual behavior of variously reinforced bonded and unbonded prestressed concrete beams. The model is also successful in simulating a gradually increasing load after sudden drop inload resistance due to fracture of one or more FRP tendons. This feature is useful in tracing the overall load-deflection response of a beam prestressed with brittle FRP tendons.
