When the equipment which is related to safety or important to power production is installed in nuclear power plant units (NPPs), verification of equipment Electromagnetic Susceptibility (EMS) must be performed. The low-frequency radiated magnetic field susceptibility (RS101) test is one of the EMS tests specified in U.S NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.180 revision 1. The RS101 test verifies the ability of equipment installed in close proximity to sources of large radiated magnetic fields to withstand them. However, RG 1.180 revision 1 allows for an exemption of the low-frequency radiated magnetic susceptibility (RS101) test if the safety-related equipment will not be installed in areas with strong sources of magnetic fields. There is no specific exemption criterion in RG 1.180 revision 1. EPRI TR-102323 revision 4 specifically provides a guide that the low-frequency radiated magnetic field susceptibility (RS101) test can be conservatively exempted for equipment installed at least 1 m away from the sources of large magnetic fields (>300 A/m). But there is no exemption criterion for equipment installed within 1 m of the sources of smaller magnetic fields (<300 A/m). Since some types of equipment radiating magnetic flux are often installed near safety related equipment in an electrical equipment room (EER) and main control room (MCR), the RS101 test exemption criterion needs to be reasonably defined for the cases of installation within 1 m. There is also insufficient data regarding the strength of magnetic fields that can be used in NPPs. In order to ensure confidence in the RS101 test exemption criterion, we measured the strength of low-frequency radiated magnetic fields by distance. This study is expected to provide an insight into the RS101 test exemption criterion that meets the RG 1.180 revision 1. It also provides a margin analysis that can be used to mitigate the influence of low-frequency radiated magnetic field sources in NPPs.
In recent years, the electromagnetic environments are varied with the increase of power consumption and the spread of household electric appliances. Most of the interests to date have concentrated in the area of human health effects associated with exposure to power frequency electric and magnetic fields, and thus the precise measurement and analysis are required. In this paper, the measurements and analysis of the extremely low frequency(ELF) electric and magnetic fields produced by actual 22.9[kV] distribution lines were performed. The experiments have been carried out by lateral profile, and the theoretical analyses were made by use of FIELDS program for the sate of comparison with the experimental data. Electric and magnetic field intensity were strong under power distribution lines, and were inversely proportional to lateral distance. The profiles of electric and magnetic fields were M and ∩ shapes, respectively, and the measured data were good in agreement with the theoretical results. Both the electric and magnetic field intensity were increased with increasing the measurement height.
Studies on rotation-powered pulsars with strong surface magnetic field may help us clarify the unclear link between magnetars and canonical radio pulsars because the magnetar-like emission is expected to be observed. PSR J1119-6127 associated with SNR G292.2-0.5 has a high magnetic field of $4.1{\times}1013$ gauss, and a young characteristic age of ~1700 years can be served as the good candidate to compare with magnetars and rotation-powered pulsars. The glitch accompanied by the radiative changes detected in 2007 is the first case we observed for a rotationally powered radio pulsar. This pulsar experienced magnetar-like outbursts in mid. 2016, similar to the 2006 transition occurred on the other radio-quiet rotation-powered pulsar with strong surface magnetic field, PSR J1846-0258. In this talk, I'll report the investigation with X-ray and gamma-ray data of this magnetar-like pulsar. A sudden decrease in the gamma-ray emission at the GeV band was detected immediately after the X-ray outburst. Accompanying with the disappearance of the radio pulsation, the gamma-ray pulsation cannot be resolved as well after the outburst. We tried to derive the timing behavior and some intriguing features of this pulsar in this work corresponding to the outburst using the Swift data, NuSTAR and XMM observations.

Nonpotential characteristics of magnetic fields in AR 5747 are examined using Mees Solar Observatory magnetograms taken on Oct. 20, 1989 to Oct. 22, 1989. The active region showed such violent flaring activities during the observational span that strong X-ray flares took place including a 2B/X3 flare. The magnetogram data were obtained by the Haleakala Stokes Polarimeter which provides simultaneous Stokes profiles of the Fe I doublet 6301.5 and 6302.5. A nonlinear least square method was adopted to derive the magnetic field vectors from the observed Stokes profiles and a multi-step ambiguity solution method was employed to resolve the $180^{\circ}$ ambiguity. From the ambiguity-resolved vector magnetograms, we have derived a set of physical quantities characterizing the field configuration, which are magnetic flux, vertical current density, magnetic shear angle, angular shear, magnetic free energy density, a measure of magnetic field discontinuity MAD and linear force-free coefficient. Our results show that (1) magnetic nonpotentiality is concentrated near the inversion line in the flaring sites, (2) all the physical parameters decreased with time, which may imply that the active region was in a relaxation stage of its evolution, (3) 2-D MAD has similar patterns with other nonpotential parameters, demonstrating that it can be utilized as an useful parameter of flare producing active region, and (4) the linear force-free coefficient could be a evolutionary indicator with a merit as a global nonpotential parameter.
Radioactive Corrosion Products (CRUD) which are generated by the neutron activation of general corrosion products at the nuclear power plant are the major source of occupational radiation exposure. Most of the CRUD has a characteristic of showing strong ferrimagnetisms. Along with the new development and production of permanent magnet (rare earth magnet) which generates much stronger magnetic field than the conventional magnet, new type of magnetic filter that can separate CRUD efficiently and eventually reduce radiation exposure of personnel at nuclear power plant is suggested. This separator consists of inner and outer magnet assemblies, coolant channel and container surrounding the outer magnet assembly. The rotational motion of the inner and outer permanent magnet assemblies surrounding the coolant channel by driving motor system produces moving alternating magnetic fields in the coolant channel. The CRUD can be separated from the coolant by the moving alternating magnetic field. This study describes the results of preliminary experiment performed with the different flow rates of coolant and rotation velocities of magnet assemblies. This new magnetic filter shows better performance results of filtering the magnetite at coolant (water). How rates, rotating velocities of magnet assemblies and particle sizes turn out to be very important design parameters.
There are few reports of high frequency loss behavior in the near-field for magnetic films with semiconducting properties, even though semiconducting magnetic materials, such as soft magnetic amorphous alloys and nanocrystalline thin films, have been demonstrated. The electromagnetic loss behavior of multilayer magnetic films with semiconducting properties on the microstrip line in quasi-microwave frequency band was analyzed numerically using a commercial finite-element based electromagnetic solver. The large increase in the absorption performance and broadband characteristics of the semiconducting/insulating layer magnetic films examined in this study were attributed to an increase in the loss factor of resistive loss. The electromagnetic reflection increased significantly with increasing conductivity, and the loss power deteriorated significantly. The numerical results of the magnetic field distribution showed that a strong radiated signal on the microstrip line was emitted with increasing conductivity and decreasing film thickness due to re-reflection of the radiated wave from the surface of the magnetic film, even though the emitted levels varied with film thickness.
Magnetic nerve stimulation treatment is much backward real condition than other field. Specially, successful medical treatment introduction of magnetic field (MF) can was refered long ago in Avicenna's work, and is thought as age of medicine magnetology development recently. These development is achieved through biologist and biophysicist and clinician's joint effort, but, new mountings and relationship air tassel are developed steadily. Magnetic nerve stimulation treatment field designs treatment system by each function during long wave high-amplitude (traditional magneto therapy of greatly great that strong that) short time that CMF, VMF, PMF field etc. are representative but are HPMT technology in this research and manufacture and special quality did comparative analysis.
Superconducting field coils using a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) wires with high current density generate high magnetic field of 2 to 5 [T] and electromagnetic force (Lorentz force) acting on the superconducting field coils also become a very strong from the point of view of a mechanical characteristics. Because mechanical stress caused by these powerful electromagnetic force is one of the factors which worsens the critical current performance and structural characteristics of HTS wire, the mechanical stress analysis should be performed when designing the superconducting field coils. In this paper, as part of structural design of superconducting field coils for 17 MW class superconducting ship propulsion motor, mechanical stress acting on the superconducting field coils was analyzed and structural safety was also determined by the coupling analysis system that is consists of commercial electromagnetic field analysis program and structural analysis program.
The magnetic properties of heat treated O-series high temperature superconducting (HTS) GdBCO coated conductor (CC) tapes which were formed of Ag/GdBCO/Buffer-layers/Stainless Steel (SS), were investigated by employing a Quantum Design PPMS-14. Using a modified Bean model, the critical current density Jc values have been estimated from the 𝚫mirr(H) data, which are obtained by measuring the magnetic moment m(H) loops. For a range of intermediate fields, which are interacting or collective flux pinning area, the magnetic flux behaviors were investigated from the relationship Jc ∝ H-β. In addition, the changes of irreversibility magnetic field Hirr line of heat-treated O-series HTS GdBCO CC tapes were analyzed, according as the annealing temperature under oxygen flowing increases. Both weak and strong break-downs were found by examining the changes of irreversibility magnetic field Hirr lines.
In this paper, measurement and analysis of ELF electric and magnetic fields in the vicinity of 22.9[kV] distribution line have been performed. The height of measuring point from the earth's surface was 1[m], and the distance between the device and the operator was more than 3[m]. The experiments have been carried out by lateral profile, and we have made use of FIELDS program for the sake of comparision the experimental data with the theoretical value. Electric and magnetic fields intensity were strong under a distribution line, and were inversely proportional to lateral distance. The profiles of electric field were M shape and those of magnetic field were $\cap$ shape. Electric and magnetic fields intensity were increased with increasing the measurement height.
