  • 본 논문은 RISC CPU인 Intel StrongARM SA-1100을 기반으로 하는 실시간(Real-Time) 운영체제를 설계한 내용을 설명하고 있다. 본 논문에서 구현된 운영체제는 태스크들이 우선순위 기반으로 저리되는 선점형 스케줄링 방식을 채택함으로써 실기간 운영체제의 주요 특징인 시간 결정성(determinism)을 보장하도록 하였다. Intel StrongARM SA-1100은 고성능(High Performance), 저전력(Low Power)의 장점 때문에 모바일(Mobil) 환경에서 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 논문은 Intel StrongARM SA-1100 CPU를 타겟으로 시간 결정성이 보장되도록 멀티 태스킹(Multitasking)과 ITC(InterTasking Communication)를 설계하고 구현한 내용에 대해 설명하고 있다.

  • Recently, most of the embedded system have the function of multimedia information processing and network connecting. This make the overall system more complicated and need a new approach. Moreover the embedded system must be real-time system, which are different with Linux is constructed and the kernel is redesigned on the strong-arm board in order to make the real-time embedded web-server system.

  • 본 연구에서는 리눅스를 임베디드 시스템에 포팅하기 위한 기술을 조사하고 하드웨어를 선정하여 리눅스를 포팅하였다. 하드웨어는 Intel 사의 StrongARM SA-1110를 탑재한 Evaluation board를 사용하였다. 개발 환경은 Host computer와 Assabet board상에 RS-232C를 이용하여 프로그램 다운로드할 수 있는 환경을 구축하였다. StrongARM를 위한 Cross Compiler를 만들고, StrongARM의 하드웨어 메모리 맵을 이용하여 Linux의 메모리 맵을 설정한 후 리눅스를 컴파일하였다. 이를 RS-232C를 통해 Assabet board에 다운로드하여 리눅스를 탑재한 임베디스 시스템을 구현하였다. UCB1300 telecom codec의 device driver를 개발하여 커널에 적재하고 이를 사용하여 전화기로부터 들어오는 신호중 CID 신호를 해석하여 발신자 번호를 출력하는 시스템을 구현하였다.

  • This paper describes the development of stand-alone image processing module on Strong Arm CPU employing an embedded Linux. Stand-alone image Processing module performs various functions such as thresholding, edge detection, and image enhancement of a raw image data in real time. The comparison of execution time between similar PC and developed module shows the satisfactory results. This Paper provides the possibility of applying embedded Linux successfully in industrial devices.

  • This paper is about distance measurement in various applications using Laser characteristics(monochromaticity, diectivity, interference, brightness, coherence). There are many kinds of methods such as light wavelength, light straight, light triangulation in distance measurement that use Laser. The measurement in this paper reforms a previous triangulation. This method define two Lasers place on regular distance control from 0$^{\circ}$ to 90$^{\circ}$. They have each phase which is shined a target.

  • In this paper, web based monitoring systems are implemented using embedded Linux. The external equipment is controlled via HTTP protocol and web browser program. HTTP protocol is ported into Linux. A micro web server program and external equipment control program are installed on-board memory using CGI to be accessed by web browser. Experimental result of the proposed web based monitoring systems can be used in automation systems and remote distributed control via internet using web browser.

  • This paper presents the moving object tracking method using vision system. In order to track object in real time, the image of moving object have to be located the origin of the image coordinate axes. Accordingly, Fuzzy Control System is investigated for tracking the moving object, which control the camera module with Pan/Tilt mechanism. Hereafter, so the this system is applied to mobile robot, we design and implement image processing board for vision system. Also fuzzy controller is implemented to the StrongArm board. Finally, the proposed fuzzy controller is useful for the real-time moving object tracking system by experiment.

  • A polishing machine adopting a new unique structural mechanism has been developed, named as a swing-arm type polishing machine. The mechanism is such that the tool path tracks on a spherical surface, of which the diameter is adjusted by setting up the machine mechanism properly. It has a strong benefit especially for polishing axis-symmetric concave mirror surfaces. The swing-arm type polishing machine with 5-axes has been designed in order to polish a concave mirror surface lip to diameter of 2 meters. The drawings are made using 3D CAD and strain-stress analysis has been done by finite element method. AC servo-motor has been used to move the swing arm and a operating software has been developed using a LapVIEW tool. Result of the test run was satisfactory which convinces the usefulness of the swing-arm type polishing machine.

  • 현재 Embedded system 에서 많은 기업체들이 리눅스를 채용하고 있고, 이러한 임베디드 리눅스는 실시간 운영체제가 필요한 로봇제어기에서부터 PDA, set-top box등 여러 분야에 걸쳐 응용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 StrongARM SA-1110 CPU을 이용하여 만들어진 임베디드 시스템에 리눅스를 사용하여 독립형 비전모듈을 개발한 내용을 기술한다. 또한, WinCE 를 사용하여 개발된 비전모듈과의 성능을 비교하여 리눅스를 이용한 독립형 비전모듈을 평가하고, 머신비전 분야에서의 리눅스 응용 가능성을 제시하였다.
