A Method of the Extraction of Phonemes in Hangeul Recognition (한글 인식에 있어서의 자소추출)

  • This paper describes a met hod of the extraction of phonemes in Hangout recognition. We provide the direction of strokes aid positional information for analyzing the structure of characters based on the regular combinational rules of Hangout according to Top -Down processing, and show the process of Phoneme extraction seq uencially. In this paper, some processing algorithms are described and simulated. The experiment of the phoneme extraction is carried out for 677 characters actully used daily, and extraction rate of 96% is obtained. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • NURBS surfaces have been widely used in engineering design since it can create a smooth surface using minimal numbers of data. But deformation of the surfaces is quite difficult especially for the detailed modification. Also, NURBS surface deformation processes need many inputs, and it is not easy to be implemented in 3D virtual system. In this paper, both the surface trimming and multi-resolution surface are used for the detailed sculpting including sharp edges of NURBS surface. QuadTree is used to separate cleanly the target surface with the surface for sculpting effect. Simple user strokes are also used for the sculpting target curves and GOMS(Goals, Operators, Methods, Selection Rules) model is applied to verify the efficiency of the proposed sculpting process.

  • Miniaturization is the central theme in modern fabrication technology. Many of the components used in modern products are becoming smaller and smaller. The direct write FIB technology has several advantages over contemporary micromachining technology, including better feature resolution with low lateral scattering and capability of maskless fabrication. Therefore, the application of FIB technology in micro fabrication has become increasingly popular. In recent model of FIB, however the feeding system has been a very coarse resolution of about a few $\mu\;\textrm{m}$. It is not unsuitable to the sputtering and the deposition to make the high-precision structure in micro or macro scale. Our research is the development of nano stage of 200mm strokes and 10nm resolutions. Also, this stage should be effectively operating in ultra high vacuum of about $1\times10^{-7}$ torr. This paper presents the concept of nano stages and the discussion of the material treatment for ultra high vacuum.

Studies on Protoplast Isolation and Regeneration of Lyophyllum ulmarium (느티만가닥 버섯의 원형질체 분리와 재생에 관한 연구)

  • This experiment was undertaken to investigate proper conditions for protoplast isolation and regeneration from the mycelia of Lyophyllum ulmnrium. Protoplast isolation and regeneration are influenced by a variety of factors such as enzyme, osmotic stabilizer, reaction time and age of mycelia. A combination of Novozyme 234 (10mg/ml) and cellulase Onozuka R-10 (10 mg/ml) with 0.6 M $MgSO_4$ was most effective for isolation of the protoplasts. The optimum reaction time of the mycelia with the lytic enzymes was 3.5~4 hours at $28^{\circ}C$ in shaking condition at 120 strokes per min. High yield of the protoplasts were obtained from its 4~5 days old mycelia on complete agar media. Its protoplasts were regenerated to normal hyphae. Regeneration media with 0.6 M sucrose were proper for regeneration of the protoplasts. Their regeneration frequency on complete agar media was 2.3~2.7%.

  • 본 연구에서 제안하는 3차원 인터렉티브 스케칭 시스템은 쉽고 간략한 인터페이스 환경으로 유연하고 정교한 물체 생성 및 변형이 가능한 3차원 개념설계 시스템이다. 제품의 설계 과정에서 무선 완드를 이용하여 3차원 공간에 일련의 프리핸드 스트로크로 곡면을 정의하고 생성된 곡면은 캘리그래픽 스트로크를 이용하여 실시간으로 변형할 수 있는 공간 곡면의 정의와 실시간 자유 변형 알고리즘을 포함한다. 공간 곡면 정의 알고리즘은 무선완드의 입력 방위에 따라 상이한 물체를 생성하고 변형하는 기술로서 물체 생성시 필요한 인터페이스의 양을 최소화 할 수 있다. 또한 절러 차례 캘리그라픽 스트로크 입력으로 수정과 변형이 실시간 통합적으로 이루어지는 자유변형 알고리즘은 기존의 공학적. 수치적 접근방식에서 탈피한 직관적이며 유연한 모델링 방식을 제안하여 전문가가 아니더라도 쉽게 공학적 모델을 생성. 변형 할 수 있다. 누구나 쉽게 본 시스템의 도움으로 직관적이며 공학적으로 건전한 제품을 설계할 수 있는 디자인 설계의 획기적인 변화를 마련할 것이다.

  • Because of the continuous growth of energy consumption and also the tendency to site power lines and pipelines along the same route, the close proximity of power lines and buried metallic pipelines has become more and more frequent. The lightning strokes collected by an electric substation or power line tower might cause arcing through the soil to an adjacent gas pipeline. This paper gives the review of the breakdown mechanism and the standards of separation distance between lower and pipelines.

  • The proportion of the aged people in Korea has increased rapidly by more than 7% in 2000. A survey says that the changing rate from the aging society to the aged is the highest among the OECD countries. The prevalence rate of the aged population is on the increase. Chronic diseases such as arthritis and strokes limits their body's functions and activities of daily living. It is necessary that functional training. ADL training and continuous treatment be provided by Physical or Occupational Therapists. Discontinuance of treatment can cause the aged people to be in a bed state. The aged people need a variety of home care services at their convenience. Occupational and Physical therapist should play a major role in providing the rehabilitation-base home care services. Further they are expected to contribute to the extension of health care services such as home care and nursing home programs.

  • The importance of the improving quality of electric power is being strongly raised, owing to an increasing use of sensitive and small-sized electronic devices and system. The transient overvoltage on low-voltage AC power distribution system are induced by direct or indirect lightning return strokes, and those can cause damage and/or malfunction of the utility system for borne automation, office automation and factory automation as well as medical equipments. The behavior of lightning surge transferred to the primary side from the primary side in distribution transformers were experimentally investigated the protection effect of low voltage SPD installed at the secondary side of distribution transformers was analyzed.

  • In this paper, a Hangul recognition system using of Kohonen Network in the phoneme separation and learning is proposed. A Hangul consists of phoneme that are consists of strokes. The phoneme recognition and separation are very important in the recognition of character. So, the phonemes which mismatching has been happened are correctly separated through the learning of neural networks. also, learning rate($\alpha$) adjusted according to error, in order to solved that its decreased the number of iteration and the problem of local minimum, adaptively.

  • A large capacity hybrid-type linear motor damper was designed and fabricated for the application to the vibration control of a large building structure model. It has been designed to be able to move the damper mass, 1,500kg up to $\pm$ 250mm strokes at the first mode natural frequency of the building structure model, 0.51Hz. Dynamic response characteristics of the fabricated damper were investigated by experimentally and analytically.
