The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the resilience of families of middle-aged married men upon the perception of family stress. The subjects were 301 married men age 40.54 living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, Korea. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling method and a convenience sampling method. The data were statistically processed using the SPSS 18.0 program. First, participants who perceived family stress less and had higher family resilience tended to be better educated, have higher average family incomes, have permanent employment, be religious, and have no experience of unemployment. Participants who had low-paying, physical labor-based jobs or who were contract workers perceived family stress more and had lower family resilience. Second, among the variables that affected family resilience, those that most influenced the perceptual extent of family stress were the sense of belief system's family control, having a positive perspective, flexibility with regard to morality, religion, and organizational patterns, connectivity, family resources, communication-oriented mutual cooperative problem-solving, and emotional response. Third, the influence of family resilience upon the perception of family stress measured at 44.2% based on regression analysis and was statistically significant (F=4.606, ***p<.001).
With advances in neonatal medicine, smaller and sicker infants are surviving premature birth. As these tiny patients battle for their lives, their parents also struggle with psychological consequences of an unexpected role. The birth of a sick infants has long been documented as stressful events for the parents. High stress levels may alter parents' interaction with their baby and impair their communication with health professionals, which can in turn affect parents' participation in care planning and decision making. Nursing interventions aimed at reducing the parental stress and anxiety levels during this crisis may have a positive impact on their ability to form an attatchment to their baby and make prudent decisions about his care. The planning of such interventions would be inhanced if the contributions of various factors to increased parental stress levels were identified. This descriptive study was conducted to understand the contents and degree of parental stress in the NICU during their premature's hospitalization, and to give a baseline data in developing nursing intervention program. Subjects were the 60 mother of hospitalized newborn in NICU of 2 University Hospital in Taejon City from April 1st, 1999 to June 30th, 1999, who agreed to take part in this study. The instrument used in this study were Parental Stressor Scales:NICU(PSS:NICU) developed by Miles et al.. and validated by 3 NICU practitioners and 3 child health nursing faculties. The questionnaire has 4 dimensions and 45 items; sight and sounds of NICU(5 items), babies' appearance and behavior nursing intervention(19 items), parental role alteration and relationship with their baby(10 items), health team communication(11 items). The questionnaire asks parents to rate each item on a five-point Likert type scale that ranges from "not stressful" (1) to "extremely stressfu1"(5). Total scores representing overall stress from the NICU environment are calculated by summing response to each item. A high score indicates high stress. A subscale score is calculated by summing the responses to each item in the subscale. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficients were .93. The data was analyzed as average, Frequency, Standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient by use of SPSS/PC+. The results of this study is summarized as follows ; 1. The total perceived stress level score of mothers of premature baby was slightly high($3.66{\pm}1.1$). The highest scored dimension was 'relationship with their baby and parental role change'($4.21{\pm}0.9$), and next were 'appearance and behavior of the baby'($3.92{\pm}1.1$), 'communication with health team'($3.32{\pm}1.3$), 'sight and sounds of NICU'($3.30{\pm}1.1$). 2. There were statistically significant correlation noted ; mother's perceived severity of the baby's condition(F=8.0012, P= .0125) and baby's gestational age(r = -.4724, P = .0500). In summary, information about physical environment of NICU, the mother's perceived severity of premature baby's state, maternal role change related variables and the knowledge of characteristics of premature baby must be included in nursing intervention program of mother's of premature baby in reducing the parental stress and anxiety level. It is suggested that each NICU needs to develop a nurse managed supportive care program for parents of premature baby. Also, it is suggested that there need to investigate the coping mechanism of mother of premature baby.

The study was carried out to investigate the influence of demographics and social media use on perceived academic stress of secondary school students in St. Thomas Aquinas College, Akure, Nigeria. This was achieved using five research questions and four null hypotheses. The population of the study consisted of 1,107 students at ISCED level 3, out of which 286 were selected based on the Israel (2003) model for determining sample size. The Ex-Post Facto (EPT) research design of the correlational type was employed to investigate the study while questionnaire was used for data elicitation. Out of the 286 copies distributed, 192 (67% response rate) were retrieved and analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (correlation and multiple regression). The findings revealed that there is high frequency of social media use among secondary school students, majorly for meeting new friends and chatting. The perceived academic stress (PAS) of the students was found to be moderate. Of the three demographics considered, only class had significant influence on PAS. Use of social media did not have significantly influence on PAS of the students. When combined, demographics and social media use predicted PAS; and when considered relatively, of the independent variables, only class as an aspect of demographics predicted PAS. Therefore, the authors concluded that PAS of secondary school students is not directly influenced by demographics (except for class) and social media use. Based on the study's conclusion, recommendations were made.
Purpose: This study was conducted to measure the levels of Health status, perceived stress, self-esteem, and achievement motivation and assertive behavior of adolescents. The relationships among these variables as well as predictors of health status were examined. Method: The sample was composed of 496 students (male: 195. female: 301) from 3 high schools in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do regions. The instruments used in this study were as follows: health status scale developed by Noh (1991), perceived stress scale developed by Park(1996), self-esteem scale developed by Rosenberg (1965), achievement motivation scale developed by Park(1986) and assertive behavior scale developed by Kim(1982). The reliability of the five instruments were examined using Chronbachs' a that ranged from, .63 to .90 in this study. The data were analyzed with the SAS program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan multiple comparison, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The results were as follows: 1. The mean score .of health status was 3.1, which was higher than the median of the instrument. 2. There were significant correlations of health status with self-esteem (r=.381. p=.0001), assertive behavior (r=.503. p=.0001), and perceived stress (r=-.352. p=.0001). 3. Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that 34% of health status was affected by the level of assertive behavior (25%), self-esteem (7%), and perceived stress (2%). Conclusion: Based on these findings, assertive behavior and self-esteem appear to be specific important areas of future research as to better understand the health status of adolescents, and to develop health status-related interventions for them.
This study purposed to examine how school violence victims' coping behaviors are affected by locus of control and social support. Two hundred and thirty fifth and sixth graders from four elementary schools in Seoul filled out School Violence Scale reports of the Seoul Council for Safe School (2002), Attributional Style Questionnaire (Weinstein, 1980) revised by Young Sil Im(2004), Social Support Appraisal Scale (Dubow & Ulman, 1989) revised by Myung Sook Kim(1994), and Stress Coping Behaviors reports(Park & Chung, 2001). The data were analyzed with the descriptive statics and t-test. The results of this study were as follows: First, more children showed internal locus of control than external one under negative circumstances. School violence victims perceived family's support to be more important than friend's and teacher's support. Their coping behaviors were partitioned in the order of active, aggressive, passive/avoidant, and social support seeking. Second, children with internal locus of control used more passive/avoidant coping behavior than those with external one. Third, children who perceived high social support from family used more active and social support seeking coping behavior. Children who perceived low support from friends used more passive/avoidant coping behavior while those with low support from teachers used more aggressive coping behavior. In conclusion, there are differences in stress coping behaviors by victims of school violence based on their internal or external locus of control and perceived social support.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of perceived stress, anxiety, depression of suicide ideation in nursing students. Data were collected from 224 nursing students in B city and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 22.0. The degree of suicide ideation in nursing students was 3.33±5.28. There were significant differences in suicide ideation with number of friend(F=4.114, p=.007). There was negative correlation between suicide ideation and perceived stress(r=.404, p<.001), anxiety(r=.480, p<.001), depression(r=.580, p<.001). The factors affecting suicide ideation of the study subjects were anxiety(β=.158, p=.040), depression(β=.463, p<.001), number of friend(β=.109, p=.044), with an explanatory power of 36.8%. Through the result of this study, it is necessary to development various education and program that can control the suicide ideation of nursing students.
This study is a nonequivalent placebo control group pretest-posttest design to confirm the effects of auricular pressure therapy on perceived stress and sleep quality for nursing students. The subjects of the study were selected from K College, 30 people in the treatment group and 30 people in the control group, a total of 60 people. Data were collected from March 2 to April 26, 2022. Auricular pressure was applied to the treatment group (shenmen, heart, thalamus), and the placebo control group was applied to the auricle (hip, knee, ankle) in the same method during the same period. Data were analyzed independent t-test repeated measures ANOVA using the SPSS 23.0 program. The perceived stress score of the treatment group significantly decreased to 2.28 after 4 weeks of intervention and 2.07 after 8 weeks of intervention, and the sleep quality score significantly increased to 3.37 after 4 weeks of intervention and 4.02 after 8 weeks of intervention. It was found to have a lasting effect over time.
The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationship and confirm the effect of labor as a civil servant in charge of civil affairs how excessive social support and delayed tension affect psychological exhaustion. The results are as follow. First, as a result of analyzing the structural relationship between Emotional Labor, social support, perceived stress, and psychological exhaustion of Civil Affairs Officials, Emotional Labor of civil Civil Affairs Officials has a positive effect on social support, perceived stress, and psychological exhaustion. Social support had a significant negative effect on psychological exhaustion. Perceived stress was found to have a positive effect on psychological exhaustion. Second, as a result of soldering the labor effect of social support and involved tension in the relationship between labor and psychological burnout of public officials in charge of financial resources, a partial mediating effect was confirmed.The object should be used to first respond to and show the reinforcement of social support and the reduction of painted pressure, identified as labor variables, before farmers appear.
This study was designed to grasp the degree of job stress affecting dental technicians and the degree of the symptoms of their job stress. With this in mind, the researcher selected a total of 170 dental technicians living in Seoul and Incheon, conducting a research in a period ranging from August 1,2001, to August 20, 2001. The researcher made use of a structured questionnaire whose reliability and feasibility are proved. The questionnaire is composed of a total of 55 questions: thirteen questions related to the subjects' general characteristics; 28 questions connected to the measurement of job stress and fourteen questions linked with the measurement of job-stress symptoms. The researcher analyzed the findings with the aid of SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences). The research came to draw the following conclusions on the basis of frequency, percentage, T-test, and F-test, multiple regression. I. The analysis into the job stress of the subjects indicates that there is a significant difference in difficult questions among their work places, working hours, academic background, job satisfaction and jobs(P<.05). The job stress stands at 3.48 on the average, and the area of conflict among too much work and job performance turns out to be highly perceived. 2. The analysis into the degree of the symptoms of the job stress of the subjects shows that there is a significant difference in work place, working hours, job satisfaction and the continual maintenance of job(P<.05). The symptoms of job stress accounts for 2.65 on the average. Physical symptoms turn out to be highly perceived; The response 'My arms and legs are killing me' proves to stand for 3.03. 3. The correlation between job stress and the symptoms of job stress turns out to be significant(r=0.519, P<0.001), and there is a significant correlation between the average points of each job-stress area and the average points of the symptoms of job stress. All in all, it is necessary that dental technicians themselves should make positive efforts to control and relieve stress and that more efficient programs should be implemented with a view to dealing with stress.

The purpose of this study is to examine the difference in the mediating effects of relief from fatigue through sleep and perceived subjective health in the relationship between perceived stress and subjective happiness in middle school students who attempted suicide. The analysis was conducted using Path analysis, the Bootstrapping method, Phantom variable and Multiple group analysis by AMOSS using the IBM SPSS 23 and IBM SPSS AMOS 23 programs with 820 middle school students who attempted suicide in the past 12 months using the raw data of the Korea Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey (2016). In the relationship between perceived stress and perceived subjective health, the indirect effect of relief from fatigue through sleep and perceived subjective health (${\beta}=-.12$, p=.003) was statistically significant. The difference in the magnitude of the two indirect effects was found to be greater for the subjective health status than for relief from fatigue through sleep (difference = .02, p=.028) and the effects were greater for the males (${\beta}=.44$, p <.001) than for the females (${\beta}=.23$, p<.001). Based on the findings, it is necessary to develop and apply an educational program that includes the factors that contribute to improving the happiness of middle school students.
