Purpose: The purpose was to examine the level of perceived stress, lifestyle, and health status indicators and identify the relationships among them in medical center employees. Method: This study utilized data from Cohen's Perceived Stress Scale, health survey developed by National Health Insurance Corporation, and laboratory tests (such as liver enzyme or lipid profile) on 873 medical center employees. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 program through descriptive statistics, $x^2-test$, independent t-test, ANOVA and ANCOVA. Results: Perceived stress was relatively high, but lifestyle and health status indicators were good. Age, gender, and job were significantly related to perceived stress, life style, and health status indicators: younger employees, men, nurses reported higher stress; older employees, men and medical technicians reported worse life style; older employees, men and doctors showed more abnormal health status indicators. There was a significant relationship between perceived stress and life style: the higher the level of stress was, the more drinking or the more smoking they had. However, there was no clear relationship between perceived stress and health status indicators. Conclusion: Although the subjects' lifestyle and health status indicators were relatively good, their perceived stress was seriously high. Therefore, programs for reducing stress are necessary for medical center employees.
Objective: This study aims to explore ways to empirically analyze and manage childcare teachers' job stress based on their relationship with stress-related physiological indicators measured by a fitness tracker. Methods: The study participants were 27 childcare teachers in Gyeonggi-do and wore Garmin's wearable fitness tracker Vivosmart 4 for 15 days for three months. The collected information was analyzed for mean, SD, ANOVA, and correlation using JAMOVI 2.00. Results: First, among the daily changes of physiological indicators measured by a fitness tracker, the data collected on Mondays were significant. On Mondays, the stress index was high, the duration of the rest period was short, and the sleep time was short. The stress of childcare teachers showed a significant negative relationship with the body battery which was calculated by considering the duration of the rest period, heart rate variability, stress, and activity level. Also, the duration of deep sleep was positively correlated with a low degree of stress. There was a significant relationship between the childcare teachers' psychological indicators and the biomarkers measured by fitness trackers. Conclusion/Implications: Stress research using a fitness tracker is big data, and in-depth analysis is possible. Fitness trackers can collect and utilize repeated measurement data for each individual childcare teacher.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influential factors of stress and fatigue on peridontal indicators in patients with periodontal disease. Methods: A self-administrated questionnaire study was conducted during November 2012 to January 2013 with 140 periodontal patients. The Fatigue and Stress were evaluated with Multidimensional Fatigue Scale(MFS) and Psychosocial Well-bing Index(PWI). Periodontal health indicators were consisted with gingival index and pocket depth. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. Results: Overall stress and fatigue level of subjects were $22.61{\pm}5.62$ and $64.67{\pm}9.45$. Gingival index and periodontal pocket depth as periodontal health indicators were $1.26{\pm}0.3$ and $4.29{\pm}0.52$. The influential factors of gingival index and periodontal pocket depth were social function(subcategory of pwi) and depression(subcategory of pwi), respectively. Conclusions: Some subcategories of PWI were related with periodontal health indicators. So, consideration of stress related with depression and social function are needed to manage and prevent periodontal disease.
The changes of O-J-I-P transients were investigated using leaves of four subtropical plant species (Crinum asiaticum var. japonicum, Osmanthus insularis, Chloranthus glaber and Asplenium antiquum) under the natural conditions in winter, in order to select the stress indicators for diagnosing physiological states of plants under low temperature. In the O-J-I-P transients of these species, the fluorescence intensity was found to be higher in O-step and lower in P-step in winter than in summer. Particularly, the fluorescence intensity of the P-step in Crinum asiaticum var. japonicum was lower than those of other three plant species, indicating that Crinum asiaticum var. japonicum is the most sensitive to low temperature. Of the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters derived from O-J-I-P transients of four subtropical plants, Fm, Fv/Fo, ABS/CS, TRo/CS, $\phi_{po}$ and $\phi_{po}/(1-\phi_{po})$ decreased significantly with the increase of Fo, Sm, N, EToICS, ETo/RC and $\psi_o/(1-\psi_o)$ depending on temperature drop in winter. Therefore, these parameters could be used as indicators for estimating low temperature stress and diagnosing physiological states of plants under the natural conditions in winter.

A knowledge of in situ stress state is important to design various engineering structures such as dams, tunnels and so on. There are about three wellknown indicators that is, borehole will breakouts, hydraulic fracturing, ellipsoidal cross section of borehole that have been attributed to the state of stress in the vicinity of borehole. Fortunately, Televiewer traveltime image can be used as a caliper log with 144 or 288 arms, which allows to determine the borehole shape. Televiewer amplitude image will give detailed information about the distribution and character of breakouts and hydraulic fracturing as well. For investigation purposes, a series of boreholes(total 195 boreholes: 12.239m) that have been logged all over the country during past 10 years are analyzed. The primary objective of this paper are to examnine the ability of a Televiewer to determine the shape of borehole, to present data inferred by stress indicators, to indicate their possible relationship with the anisotropic horizontal stresses. It is shown that in most cases the fracture orientation statistically estimated from observed fractures denotes an excellent correlation with the orientations inferred by stress indicators. Many intervals of breakouts are terminated at the intersection of oblique fracture with the borehole. The results from Televiewer data are further compared with those of hydraulic fracturing techniques.
Dietary components can modulate stress, inflammatory indicators, and health risk. This study examined the relationship among diet, metabolic disease risk, and perceived stress in Korean adult females using the 2017-2018 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. A total of 4,353 adult women aged 19-64 years were classified into four groups according to perceived stress level: very high stress group (VHSG, n=225), high stress group (HSG, n=1,079), moderate stress group (MSG, n=2,532), and low stress group (LSG, n=517). Data collection included the sociodemographics, anthropometrics, blood profile, and dietary survey. After adjusting for covariates, those in the VHSG had a higher body mass index (p=0.013) and obesity rate (p=0.053) with a shorter sleep time than the LSG group. The VHSG also tended to have a higher plasma LDL-cholesterol, hsC-reactive protein and lower levels of HDL-cholesterol, vitamin A, and vitamin E than the low stress group. High stress subjects demonstrated increased breakfast skipping frequency (p<0.0001), decreased fiber intake (p=0.001), potassium (p=0.041), and vitamin A (p=0.011) than the low stress ones. Therefore the perceived stress level was associated with the inflammatory indicators, obesity, and lack of anti-inflammatory or antioxidant nutrients. The dietary components may be an important mediator of stress and metabolic disease.
The study investigated the changes in growth performance, hematological parameters, plasma components, and stress indicators of juvenile starry flounder, Platichthys stellatus, depending on varying exposure to hexavalent chromium. P. stellatus was exposed to waterborne chromium at 0, 50, 100, 200, and 400 ppb for 4 weeks. The result showed that Cr exposure resulted in decreased daily length gain (DLG), daily weight gain (DWG), condition factor (CF), and hepatosomatic index (HIS) in P. stellatus. In terms of hematological parameters, red blood cell (RBC) count, hematocrit (Ht), and hemoglobin (Hb) significantly decreased at 400 ppb after 2 weeks. In terms of plasma components, inorganic analysis was unchanged and cholesterol, an organic component, considerably increased at 400 ppb after 4 weeks. Plasma enzyme components including glutamic oxalate transaminase (GOT) and glutamic pyruvate transaminase (GPT) were significantly increased. Stress indicators such as cortisol and glucose were notably increased over 100 ppb after 4 weeks with increasing chromium concentration. The results indicate that exposure to waterborne Cr induced toxic effects on growth, hematological parameters, plasma components, and stress indicators.

Water is critical to the health and productivity of fruit trees. Efficient monitoring of water stress is essential for optimizing irrigation practices and ensuring sustainable fruit production. Short-range sensing can be reliable, rapid, inexpensive, and used for applications based on well-developed and validated algorithms. This paper reviews the recent advancement in fruit tree water stress detection via short-range sensing, which can be used for irrigation scheduling in orchards. Thermal imagery, near-infrared, and shortwave infrared methods are widely used for crop water stress detection. This review also presents research demonstrating the efficacy of short-range sensing in detecting water stress indicators in different fruit tree species. These indicators include changes in leaf temperature, stomatal conductance, chlorophyll content, and canopy reflectance. Short-range sensing enables precision irrigation strategies by utilizing real-time data to customize water applications for individual fruit trees or specific orchard areas. This approach leads to benefits, such as water conservation, optimized resource utilization, and improved fruit quality and yield. Short-range sensing shows great promise for potentially changing water stress monitoring in fruit trees. It could become a useful tool for effective fruit tree water stress management through continued research and development.
There is a host of habitat assessment systems available to evaluate and grade tidal flat ecosystems in Korea. Nevertheless, we recognize the need to develop a better ecological scheme to improve reliability and accuracy given the importance of using an empirical approach in assigning grades to indicators and the limitation of current systems which evaluate tidal flats on a regional basis. A preferable system would be one that enables habitat mapping within a tidal flat, provides a diagnosis of ecological stress/health, has a high level of ecological relevance, communicability, and statistical robustness, and enables evaluation of diverse habitats within a tidal flat. The following points should be considered in framing such a system. Indicators should discriminate habitat quality into five to seven grades accomodating diverse characteristics and conservation value of a habitat, and the grading should be made from frequency distribution of indicators based on nationwide data.We suggest the following tasks in crafting such a system: i) The decision on selection of indicators should be made based on accuracy of assessment and practical application; ii) effects of physical habitat conditions on variability of indicators should be reflected; and, iii) further works on stress/health indicators should be addressed for adopting a multiple-indicator approach which reduces misdiagnosis.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of Korean Medicine (KM) doctors toward infertility treatment evaluation tools and develop a standard evaluation tool for mental and physical function improvement following Korean medicine treatment. Methods: An online survey (Moaform) was conducted, and responses were analyzed for members of the Society of Korean Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology and KM doctors who participated in the 2021-2022 traditional Korean medicine treatment infertility support program in Gyeonggi-do. Results: In fertility treatment, the most effective indicators that KM doctors wanted to evaluate other than pregnancy and childbirth were reproductive health indicators, overall health improvement, and stress improvement (33.1%, 21.2%, 18.9%). Furthermore, 45.1% of the respondents had experience using the presented infertility stress evaluation tools. For each evaluation tool, 52.1% and 54.6% of the respondents answered that it 'does not reflect the changing circumstances of the times' and that there were 'too many questions'. As for the developing a standard evaluation tool for infertility treatment in KM, KM doctors expected a simple and clear tool focusing on the pregnancy rate. They also wanted the tool to include a reproductive health index, overall function improvement and stress improvements. Conclusions: The survey confirmed the need to evaluate indicators for reproductive health, mental health, and infertility stress in addition to pregnancy rate to assess the effectiveness of KM infertility treatment. It also confirms the necessity of developing an infertility stress evaluation tool with simplified questions that reflects the changing time.
