일부 거리환경미화원의 근골격계 증상 유병률과 직업적 및 개인적 요인의 관련성 (Relationship between Prevalence of Musculoskeletal Symptoms and Occupational and Personal Factors among Street Cleaners)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate occupational and individual risk factors and working conditions in relation to musculoskeletal symptoms in street cleaners. Investigation was conducted through a survey of 395 male street cleaners employed by the government office in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Chung-Nam from July to August of 2009. The control group was comprised of 143 male drivers and security guards. Risk factors for musculoskeletal symptoms in street cleaners were investigated by multiple logistic regression analysis and also evaluated ergonomic risk factors by assessing working conditions of 4 street cleaners. As a result of symptom questionnaires, all of the prevalent rates of musculoskeletal symptoms in street cleaners had significantly higher results than those of the control group(p<0.05). On binary logistic regression analysis of musculoskeletal symptoms, street cleaners showed significant higher odds ratio as 18.84(95%CI: 6.56-54.12) in the arm/elbow, 10.49(95%CI: 4.29-25.65) in the hand/wrist compared to the control group. Both absence of rest breaks and exposure to ergonomic risk factors showed to be important internal risk factors of musculoskeletal symptoms among street cleaners. The exposure levels of QEC(Quick exposures checklist) in street cleaners were revealed to be higher on the shoulder/arm, wrist/hand, and neck than back, or from stress. The findings appear to show that street cleaners were high-risk group of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Therefore street cleaners require a holistic interventional strategy, including adequate arrangement of rest breaks, improvement of working tools and control of individual risk factors such as obesity and smoking.

도시 가로시설물의 조형 요소와 선호도 간의 상관성 분석 (An Analysis on the Relationship between the Art Elements and Preference of Urban Street Furnitures)

  • 본 연구는 가로 시설물 디자인의 조형 요소와 가로경관 선호도 간의 상관성 분석을 목적으로 수행되었으며, 일산 신도시의 가로 공간 내 입지하고 있는 휴식, 위생, 조명, 정보, 판매, 교통, 조경 관련 다양한 가로시설물을 연구 대상으로 하였다. 연구는 가로시설물 관련 문헌조사를 기반으로 이론을 고찰하고, 설문조사 및 분석을 통해 결과를 고찰하는 방법으로 진행하였으며, 다음과 같은 연구 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 가로경관에 영향을 미치는 요소를 파악하기 위한 분석에서 '휴식시설'과 '정보시설', '조경시설' 등 3개 요소가 가로경관에 주요 영향을 미치는 요소로 나타났다. 특히 이들은 '휴식', '조경', '정보' 시설 순으로 경관 선호도에 큰 영향력을 미치고 있었으며, 휴식시설에는 각종 '의자 요소'가, 정보시설'에는 '사인보드'가, 조경시설에는 '조형물', '분수', '문주'등의 시설 요소가 경관 선호도에 주된 영향을 미치는 요소인 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 형태, 색채, 질감, 스케일 등 조형요소가 가로시설물의 선호도에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 휴식시설인 의자는 '질감', '형태', '스케일', '색채'의 순으로 조형디자인 요소가 경관 선호도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 '색채' 요소가 다른 3개 요소에 비해 상대적으로 경관 선호도에 적은 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 통계적 유의성이 있는 것으로 나타났는데, 이것은 의자 등 편의시설에서는 질감, 형태, 스케일 등 기능적인 사항이 색채 등 시각적 것보다 선호도에 크게 영향을 미치고 있음을 시사하고 있는 것이었다. 조경시설 중 모뉴먼트와 관련된 시설은 경관 선호도에 있어 '색채', '형태', '질감', '스케일' 등의 순으로 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타남으로써 의자 등 편의시설과는 다른 양상을 보이고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 색채, 형태등 시각적 요소가 오히려 경관 선호도에 중요한 영향을 준다는 것을 의미하고 있는 것으로 사료되었다. 셋째, 특히, 사인보드 등 정보시설에 있어 경관 선호도와 디자인의 조형 요소와의 상관관계에 있어서는 부(否)의 상관성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 사인보드가 경관 선호도에 매우 부정적 영향을 끼치는 것을 의미하고 있음인데, 디자인 조형요소와의 상관성은 '스케일', '색채', '질감'의 순으로 나타남으로써 '스케일' 즉 광고물의 '크기'와 '색채'가 경관 선호도에 악영향을 미치고 있음을 의미하였다. 이상의 결과는 가로 경관 요소로서 가로 시설물을 디자인하고자 할 경우, 시설물의 종류에 따라서 상이한 조형 요소에 상대적으로 집중적 관심을 쏟아야 할 필요가 있음을 보여주고 있었다. 마지막으로, 가로시설물을 분류함에 있어서 지금까지 교과서적으로 분류해 온 '기능' 중심의 '계' 차원의 분류체계는 경관성과 관련하여서는 바람직하지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 따라서 경관과 관련한 연구를 수행할 경우, '계'보다는 '시설 종류' 차원으로 분류하는 것이 보다 바람직한 것으로 나타났다.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the purchasing behavior related factors of Small Store User in Yhasi street of Dong-Sung Ro, Daegu. Frequency, $X^2$-test MANOVA, ANOVA and Duncan multiple range test were used to analyze the sample. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The largest sample were as follows: un married female, college students of twenties, 101-200 thousand won for salaries. 2) The factors of purchasing behavior were classified into 8 factors, enjoy shopping, store image, unique goods, culture space, salesperson, low price, information seeking, value via price orientation. 3) There were significant differences found between attitude on information source, number of seeking store, music in shop, music sound, size, display, price, street, in their factors of purchasing behavior (unique goods, value via price, low price, store image, enjoy shopping) 4) There were significant differences found between demographic characteristics (personal sales, location, transportation) in their factors of purchasing behavior (salesperson, cultural space, store image).

한국과 중국의 스트리트패션 비교에 대한 연구 (The Research of street fashion between China and Korea)

  • China adopted a free market economy system and is about to enter into the WTO(World Trade Organization). It has now emerged as one of the most promising markets in the world for the near future. The purpose of this study was to investigate in Chinese and Korea women's street fashion and to suggest basic information for high quality clothing merchandising for China. The subjects in this study were 800 photos it was taken at the fashion street and college in Beijing(400) and Seoul(400). The survey was taken from December, 1999. SAS(Statistical Analysis System) is used for frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, $X^2$-test. The results of this study are as follows. Examination on the Korean and Chinese street fashion showed that Korean and Chinese have different preference for silhouette, length, and color. China has different sensibility of the items of clothing. The Chinese students prefer classical and individual Chinese street clothing. Korean student has shown very fashionable street clothing all items. It is needed to different merchandising project for clothing in China.

CAD를 이용한 가로수 관리 전산화에 관한 연구 (Computerization for Management of Street Tree Using CAD)

  • The purpose of this study is to computerize street tree management using a CAD program in order to manage the drawing record of street trees systematically and concurrently. The configuration of this program is composed of Reference Data, Data Inquiry, and Cost Assessment. The Reference Data includes characteristics of trees, monthly managements records, damage by blight and insects and usage of pesticides. The Data Inquiry includes an individual search of the tree index, simple searches and multiple searches. The Cost Assessment includes two main components, the data input with labor cost, manure ocst and pesticide cost and the assesment of management cost for prevention of blight and insects, pruning and fertilization. The results of this study are as follows: 1) When there are practices such as transplanting and removing of street trees it is immediately updated with the various situation. By creating an in progress a tree management system, up to the date information can be given to the manager for decision making. 2) To identify individual tree at the site or in drawing, the street name and numbers were used instead of coordinates. Tree tags are attached to the street trees individually. It can make DB management simple and easy. 3) By doing simple or multiple search with constructed DB, data can be provided quickly. 4) The result of this type of search are useful in the assessment of management cost very useful in regards to items such as the pruning, pesticides scattering and fertilization. 5) By using the AutoCAD software and existing PC without purchasing new equipment, the cost of system implementation can be minimized.

Improvement of the Planting Method to Increase the Carbon Reduction Capacity of Urban Street Trees

  • Background and objective: Urban street trees play an important role in carbon reduction in cities where greenspace is scarce. There are ongoing studies on carbon reduction by street trees. However, information on the carbon reduction capacity of street trees based on field surveys is still limited. This study aimed to quantify carbon uptake and storage by urban street trees and suggest a method to improve planting of trees in order to increase their carbon reduction capacity. Methods: The cities selected were Sejong, Chungju, and Jeonju among cities without research on carbon reduction, considering the regional distribution in Korea. In the cities, 155 sample sites were selected using systematic sampling to conduct a field survey on street environments and planting structures. The surveyed data included tree species, diameter at breast height (DBH), diameter at root collar (DRC), height, crown width, and vertical structures. The carbon uptake and storage per tree were calculated using the quantification models developed for the urban trees of each species. Results: The average carbon uptake and storage of street trees were approximately 7.2 ± 0.6 kg/tree/yr and 87.1 ± 10.2 kg/tree, respectively. The key factors determining carbon uptake and storage were tree size, vertical structure, the composition of tree species, and growth conditions. The annual total carbon uptake and storage were approximately 1,135.8 tons and 22,737.8 tons, respectively. The total carbon uptake was about the same amount as carbon emitted by 2,272 vehicles a year. Conclusion: This study has significance in providing the basic unit to quantify carbon uptake and storage of street trees based on field surveys. To improve the carbon reduction capacity of street trees, it is necessary to consider planning strategies such as securing and extending available grounds and spaces for high-density street trees with a multi-layered structure.

  • In recent years parking problems have been rapidly highlighted. Particularly on-street parking has become a very serious problem so an immediate action needs to be taken to resolve this problem. On-steet parking is attributable not only to insufficient capacity of parking lots but also to the facts that must of the parking lots are far away from the destinations to which drivers intend to go and that their locations are unclear. The effect of on-street parking is so great as to cause road traffic problems such as traffic jam and danger to road safety as well as to lead to obstructing business activities resulting in a decline of commercial areas. Therefore on-street parking is an important problem for a city as a whole. In this paper I have investigated a parking lot information and guiding system as one of the techniques to resolve the on-street parking problem and have clarified the effect of introducing this system and necessary conditions for implementing an optimum information and guiding system. Moreover I have pointed out the problems to be encountered in imp-lementing such system in areas not equipped with infrastructures taking into account the road conditions in these areas and have stated that it would be necessary to develop a new idea of information and guiding system in order to overcome these problems. I have suggested a Shot Gun Method as a proposal and have discussed extensibility of this method in the future.

  • LED 조명 제어 기술은 LED 조명의 효율적인 관리를 위해 지속적으로 연구되는 분야 중의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 LED 가로등을 원격으로 제어하기 위해 유무선 통신 기능을 가지는 LED 가로등 원격 제어 장치를 설계하고 구현한다. 구현된 원격 제어 장치는 조도 센서를 이용한 자동 디밍이 가능하고, RS-485/422나 Wi-Fi를 이용하여 LED 가로등을 개별(또는 통합) 제어가 가능하다. 실험을 통해 개발된 원격 제어 장치의 기능이 정상적으로 동작함을 확인하였다.

A Mobile Object Tracking Scheme by Wired/wireless Integrated Street Lights with RFID

  • Since a sophisticated location determination technology (LDT) is necessary for accurate positioning in urban area environments, numerous studies related to the LDT using the RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology have been implemented for real-time positioning and data transferring. However, there are still lots of unsolved questions especially regarding what to use as base stations and what are corresponding results under the intrinsic complexity of alignment and configuration of components used for the RFID positioning. This study proposes the street light fixtures as base stations where the RFID receivers will be embedded for the mobile tracking scheme. As street light fixtures are usually installed at a certain distance interval, they can be used as base stations for the RFID receiver installation. Using the principle of the single row triangle network, the RFID receiver organization is determined based on the experiments such as recognition distance measurement and tag position accuracy estimation at inside and outside of the single row triangle network. The results verify that the mobile tracking scheme which uses RFID-embedded street light fixtures, suggested and configured in this study, is effective for the real-time outdoor positioning.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the information of street planning for revitalization oft the community in urban detached housing area. This study was accomplished by observations and actual survey, and suggested several street planning methods; exclusion of the passing through car and control of the resident's car by one-way passage, protection of the parking area to inside individual lot by the ‘Break down Fence’ campaign in Daegu, and provide the common space for social contact and community According to this program, the public street space cant be changed into the semi-private space and the semi-public space as common territory.
