  • This paper introduces a failure analysis procedure that underpins real-time fault prognosis. In the previous study, we developed a systematic eventization procedure which makes it possible to reduce the original data size into a manageable one in the form of event logs and eventually to extract failure patterns efficiently from the reduced data. Failure patterns are then extracted in the form of event sequences by sequence-mining algorithms, (e.g. FP-Tree algorithm). Extracted patterns are stored in a failure pattern library, and eventually, we use the stored failure pattern information to predict potential failures. The two practical case studies (marine diesel engine and SIRIUS-II car engine) provide empirical support for the performance of the proposed failure analysis procedure. This procedure can be easily extended for wide application fields of failure analysis such as vehicle and machine diagnostics. Furthermore, it can be applied to human health monitoring & prognosis, so that human body signals could be efficiently analyzed.

  • In this paper, an objective of this research is to add convenience to the intranet operating within an educational institution, by setting up a messenger function to enable the faculties and teachers to make better use of the university database via Intranet. With this messenger services, the users can view the information about the members in a group they belong to, and register as friends a group of members they selected from the work group they are in. This function will reduce the cumbersome chores of adding one individual as a friend at a time. This research will enhance the Intranet within an educational institution by integrating new functions. Speciallly, In this paper, it is stored student data by the input form by the JDBC of XML standard data. Also, it is able to search of stored database to web sever from web client by the SQL quary.

  • XML has become a standard for exchanging document data on the web. Currently, most of the commercial data are stored in the relational database system. It requires to converse the document into XML form to transfer the data to a relational database system. The purpose of this paper is to research on a query processing system which will make it easy and convenient to raise a query and derive results from the document data stored in a relational database. We have designed a XML view called R2X(Relational To XML). With this R2X view, users can view a relational database as XML documents. Using R2X views, we design and implement a Query processing system which will make it expedient to form a query with a XML query language called XQL.

  • Twenty five 75% Holstein Friesian cross bred bullocks fed rice straw (Oryza sativa) of long form, were fed with the following five treatments. 1. Rice straw, untreated (RS) 2. RS + water (1:1), stored for 24 hours (WRS) 3. RS (100 kg) + urea solution (4 kg urea/100 litre water) and dried (USRS) 4. RS (100 kg) + urea solution (as in 3) stored in wet condition for 24 hours (UWRS) 5. RS (100 kg) + urea solution (as in 3) stored in pit for 21 days (UTRS). Potential digestibility of treatments of RS was evaluated by monitoring (in vitro) Simulating Rumen like Fermentation (SRLF). The results indicated that Dry Matter Intake (DMI), digestibility of nutrients, N utilization were of the order UTRS > UWRS > USRS > WRS and RS (p < 0.05 to p < 0.01). SRLF index was high (255.84) for UTRS and least (145.58) for USRS. It was intermediary (199.66) for UWRS. The acetyl content (AC) of UTRS with higher hemicellulose (HCE) digestibility (80.8%) was low compared to UWRS, USRS, RS and WRS. The acetate content was of the order UTRS < UWRS < USRS < WRS and RS thereby indicating that reduction in acetyl content was an index of positive response of urea-treatment of RS. In addition, the ratio of HCE/AC in faeces of UTRS was 0.87 as against the ratios (2.26-2.48) observed in other treatments recording reduction in AC due to urea-treatment. Among the treatments, USRS only supplemented N while UTRS in addition to utilization N, increased the digestibility of structural carbohydrates. Reduction in treatment time from 21 days to 1 day (UWRS) resulted in improvements similar to those of UTRS.

  • Impersonation attack, based on vulnerable security of SIP, facilitate a intruder to take malicious actions such as toll fraud and session hijacking. This paper suggests a new technique for a countermeasure. When receiving a register request message, registrar checks whether the value of Form header or the value of Call-ID header is stored in location server or not. If the record containing either of them are stored and periodically updated, we regard that message as impersonation attack and discard it. Since this technique uses the information stored in server instead of adding encryption mechanism for user authentication, it can easily build securer SIP environment.

  • Gouge-free tool-path generation is an important issue in mold & die machining and researches on cutter interference avoidance can be found in many articles. One of the various methods is construction of tool-offlet surface or cutter-location (CL) surface on which the cutter-center point (CL-point) locates. Provided that the CL surface is represented in a suitable form, cutter-interference avoidance can be performed without the burden of computing CL data for every cutter-contact (CC) point. In the paper, various methods of constructing a CL surface in the z-map form are presented, where z-map is a special form of discrete nonparametric representation in which the height values at grid points on the xy-plane are stored as a 2D array z[i,j].

  • In order to make a meaningful multi-media object,it is usually necessary to apply a number of non-trival operations. If multi-media data can be encapsulated in a standaridized form and stored in a database,it is poss-ible to share and reuse multi-media data among users without repeating the same or similar operations. Based on the OLE component object model, this paper proposes the integrated computing enviroment for naive user to share and reuse of Ole objects.Various types of multi- media objects that are created by their appropriate OLE application programs can be aggreagated to form a multi-media document. In addition, the OLE objects can also be stored in database by a controlled manner.TheOLE object in a database can be retrieved by a visual query interface and reused to make a new document. This paper describes the common Platform to integrate various ment of OLE appfication programs, the separation process of an OLE object form a document, and the overall management of OLE object in a database.

  • For daily life interaction with human, robots need the capability of encoding and storing cognitive information and retrieving it contextually. In this paper, spatiotemporal grounding of cognitive information for a language based cognitive system is presented. The cognitive information of the event occurred at a robot is described with a sentence, stored in a memory, and retrieved contextually. Each sentence is parsed, discriminated with the functional type of it, and analyzed with argument structure for connecting to cognitive information. With the proposed grounding, the cognitive information is encoded to sentence form and stored in sentence memory with object descriptor. Sentences are retrieved for answering questions of human by searching temporal information from the sentence memory and doing spatial reasoning in schematic imagery. An experiment shows the feasibility and efficiency of the spatiotemporal grounding for advanced service robot.

  • The stored elastic strain energy due to the thermal expansion mismatch between the thermally oxidized crystalline layer (cristobalite) and CVD Si3N4($\alpha$-Si3N4) on cooling form high oxidation temperature (1000-140$0^{\circ}C$) to room temperature, releases through the crazing of film and lifting at the SiO2/Si3N4 interface. The ratial equation (1/n) which corresponds to the ratio of the relaxation of the stored elastic stain energy due to crazing of film to the total energy, is derived under the assumption of the square crazed pattern, as follow. 1/n={8${\gamma}$(1-v)2}/(ΔL2dE) The ratial equation suggests the reason for the lifting at the SiO2/Si3N4 interface which was observed in this research.
