  • Since mobile devices have limited computational resources, it tends to use the cloud to compute or store data. As real-time becomes more important due to 5G, many studies have been conducted on edge clouds that computes at locations closer to users than central clouds. The farther the user's physical distance from the edge cloud connected to base station is, the slower the network transmits. So applications should be migrated and re-run to nearby edge cloud for smooth service use. We run applications in docker containers, which is independent of the host operating system and has a relatively light images size compared to the virtual machine. Existing migration studies have been experimented by using network simulators. It uses fixed values, so it is different from the results in the real-world environment. In addition, the method of migrating images through shared storage was used, which poses a risk of packet content exposure. In this paper, Containers are migrated with Secure CoPy(SCP) method, a data encryption transmission, by establishing an edge computing environment in a real-world environment. It compares migration time with Network File System, one of the shared storage methods, and analyzes network packets to verify safety.

  • Despite the enforcement of SSM control laws such as 'the Law of Developing the Distribution Industry (LDDI)' and 'the Law of Promoting Mutual Cooperation between Large and Small/medium Enterprises (LPMC)' stipulating the business adjustment system, the number of super-supermarkets (SSMs) has ever been expanding in Korea. In France, however, Super Centers are being regulated most strongly and directly in the whole Europe viewing that there is not a single SSM in Paris, which is emphasized to be the outcome from French government's regulation exerted on the opening of large scale retail stores. In France, the authority to approve store opening is deeply centralized and the store opening regulation is a socio-economic regulation driven by economic laws whereas EU strongly regulates the distribution industry. To control the French distribution industry, such seven laws and regulations as Commission départementale d'urbanisme commercial guidelines (CDLIC) (1969), the Royer Law (1973), the Doubin Law (1990), the Sapin Law (1993), the Raffarin Law (1996), solidarite et renouvellement urbains (SRU) (2000), and Loi de modernisation de l'économie (LME) (2009) have been promulgated one by one since the amendment of the Fontanet guidelines, through which commercial adjustment laws and regulations have been complemented and reinforced while regulatory measures have been taken. Even in the course of forming such strong regulatory laws, InterMarche, the largest supermarket chain in France, has been in existence as a global enterprise specialized in retail distribution with over 4,000 stores in Europe. InterMarche's business can be divided largely into two segments of food and non-food. As a supermarket chain, InterMarche's food segment has 2,300 stores in Europe and as a hard-discounter store chain in France, Netto has 420 stores. Restaumarch is a chain of traditional family restaurants and the steak house restaurant chain of Poivre Rouge has 4 restaurants currently. In addition, there are others like Ecomarche which is a supermarket chain for small and medium cities. In the non-food segment, the DIY and gardening chain of Bricomarche has a total of 620 stores in Europe. And the car-related chain of Roady has a total of 158 stores in Europe. There is the clothing chain of Veti as well. In view of InterMarche's management strategies, since its distribution strategy is to sell goods at cheap prices, buying goods cheap only is not enough. In other words, in order to sell goods cheap, it is all important to buy goods cheap, manage them cheap, systemize them cheap, and transport them cheap. In quality assurance, InterMarche has guaranteed the purchase safety for consumers by providing its own private brand products. InterMarche has 90 private brands of its own, thus being the retailer with the largest number of distributor brands in France. In view of its IT service strategy, InterMarche is utilizing a high performance IT system so as to obtainas much of the market information as possible and also to find out the best locations for opening stores. In its global expansion strategy of international alliance, InterMarche has established the ALDIS group together with the distribution enterprises of both Spain and Germany in order to expand its food purchase, whereas in the non-food segment, it has established the ARENA group in alliance with 11 international distribution enterprises. Such strategies of InterMarche have been intended to find out the consumer needs for both price and quality of goods and to secure the purchase and supply networks which are closely localized. It is necessary to cope promptly with the constantly changing circumstances through being unified with relevant regions and by providing diversified customer services as well. In view of the InterMarche's positive policy for promoting local partnerships as well as the assistance for enhancing the local economic structure, implications are existing for those retail distributors of our country.

  • Nowadays, a patient's private medical data which is exposed to the outside world has a severe effect on not only the patient's private life but also his/her social activities and environment. So, it is important to securely protect the patient's private medical data from the illegal manipulation. This paper studies the method to store the electronic prescription information in an IC card. For that, an access control for users, such as a doctor, a nurse, a medical institute member, a pharmacy, a pharmacist, or a patient, is proposed to access the data stored in an IC card. The certificate is issued using the Crypto API of a certificate management model supported by Windows 2000. The public/private key is created by the Cryptographic Service Provider program, and the electronic prescription is signed using the digital signature. The proposed system, therefore, can improve the quality of medical services by securing the safety and integrity of the electronic prescription, stored in an IC card.

  • In this paper we expanded a existing web based B2B system to support users in low speed network. To guarantee shared dat a consistency between clients and a server, we proposed a method of data change detection by using a time stamp tree and the performance analysis of the proposed method was proved by a simulation. Under the worst condition that leaf nodes of a times tamp tree were changed uniform distribution, the simulation result showed that the proposed method was more efficient than a sequential detection until the percentage of changed nodes were below $15\%$. According to our observation, the monthly average of data change was below $7\%$ on a web-based construction MRO B2B system or a company A from April 2004 to August 2004. Therefore the Proposed method improved performance of data change detection in practice. The proposed method also reduced storage consumption in a server because it didn't require a server to store replicated data for every client.

  • The carbon cycle came into the spotlight due to the climate change and forests are well-known for their capacity to store carbon amongst other terrestrial ecosystems. The annual organic carbon of litter production, forest floor litter layer, soil, aboveground and belowground part of plant, standing biomass, net primary production, uptake of organic carbon, soil respiration, etc. were measured in Mt. Worak in order to understand the production and carbon budget of Quercus serrata forest that are widely spread in the central and southern part of the Korean Peninsula. The total amount of organic carbon of Q. serrata forest during the study period (2010-2013) was 130.745 ton C ha-1. The aboveground part of plant, belowground part of plant, forest floor litter layer, and organic carbon in soil was 50.041, 12.510, 4.075, and 64.119 ton C ha-1, respectively. The total average of carbon fixation in plants from photosynthesis was 4.935 ton C ha-1 yr-1 and organic carbon released from soil respiration to microbial respiration was 3.972 ton C ha-1 yr-1. As a result, the net ecosystem production of Q. serrata forest estimated from carbon fixation and soil respiration was 0.963 ton C ha-1 yr-1. Therefore, it seems that Q. serrata forest can act as a sink that absorbs carbon from the atmosphere. The carbon uptake of Q. serrata forest was highest in stem of the plant and the research site had young forest which had many trees with small diameter at breast height (DBH). Consequentially, it seems that active matter production and vigorous carbon dioxide assimilation occurred in Q. serrata forest and these results have proven to be effective for Q. serrata forest to play a role as carbon storage and NEP.

  • This paper addresses a blind estimation and classification algorithm of the speech compression methods by using analysis on the structure of compressed bitstreams. Various speech compression methods including vocoders are developed in order to transmit or store the speech signals at very low bitrates. As a key feature, the vocoders contain the block structure inevitably. In classification of each compression method, we use the Measure of Inter-Block Correlation (MIBC) to check whether the bitstream includes the block structure or not, and to estimate the block length. Moreover, for the compression methods with the same block length, the proposed algorithm estimates the corresponding compression method correctly by using that each compression method has different correlation characteristics in each bit location. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm classifies the speech compression methods robustly for various types and lengths of speech signals in noisy environment.

  • Lately, NAND flash cards have been used to store massive amounts of multimedia data. However, these nand flash cells itself has a slow operation time and by that, the nand flash cards are not appropriate for high performance massive data transfer. Indeed, most flash card products have a disadvantage in that they require plenty of time to transfer massive amounts of data. Therefore, we propose a new architectural design for the hardware and software of the NAND flash cards by improving their data transfer rate. Our design is based on a multiprocessing which is different from the conventional serial processing method. We simulated our design under the VIP (Virtual IP) environment, and verified our work using FPGA test platforms. As a result, the downloading performances was approximately 160MB/s on VIP and 85.3MB/s on FPGA.

  • In this paper, we propose an indoor positioning technique using the landmark based on relative Access Point (AP) signal strengths. The absolute values of AP signals are used to conventional indoor positioning technologies, but they may be different because of the difference of the measuring device, the measuring environment, and the timing of the measurements. However, we found the fact that the flow of the AP's RSSI in certain places shows almost constant patterns. Based on theses characteristics, we identify the relative strength between the APs and store the certain places as landmarks where they show certain patterns. Once the deployment of the landmark map is complete, system calculate position of user using the IMU sensor of smartphone and calibrate it with stored landmarks. Our system shows 75.2% improvement over technology that used only sensors, and 39.6% improvement over technology that used landmarks that were selected with absolute values.
