A Heuristic Algorithm for Block Storage Planning in Shipbuilding (조선 산업의 블록 적치장 운영계획 휴리스틱 알고리즘)

  • This paper deal with the block storage planning problem of storing and retrieving assembly blocks in a temporary storage yard with limited capacity, which is one of the critical managerial problems in shipbuilding. The block storage planning problem is required to minimize the number of relocations of blocks while the constraints for storage and retrieval time windows are satisfied. We first show NP-hardness of the block storage planning problem. Next we propose a heuristic algorithm to generate good quality solutions for larger instances in very short computational time. The proposed heuristic algorithm was validated by comparing the results with the mathematical model presented in the previous study.

  • The purpose of this study is to contribute to reducing distribution costs, enhancing export price competitiveness, and improving distribution system in LCL cargo, by pursuing the present status of warehouse storage fee, a cause & problem about excessive hike, and a plan for stabilizing warehouse storage fee, as for LCL Cargo, which is imported by sea. The plans for rationalizing warehouse storage fee in LCL cargo were suggested the adoption of the ceiling system for warehouse storage fee rate, the obligation of offering information on warehouse storage fee rate, the eradication of illegal rebate, the improvement in distribution system of the imported LCL cargo, a scheme for the importer to designate a bonded warehouse and forwarder, the introduction of the tentatively named 'LORAS(Lowest Rate Service),' and formation of the dispute coordinating committee for warehouse storage fee.

A Study on Residents' Perceptions and Needs for Storage according to the Family Life Cycle (가족생활주기에 따른 수납 의식 및 요구 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine residents' perception and needs for storage according to the family life cycle. In order to achieve our goal, the questionnaire survey is used. We sample the questionnaire surveys of 250 apartment households in Seoul. The data collect by the questionnaire survey was analyzed by examining the frequency, percentage on the SPSS/PC+ Statistics package. The results of the study are obtained as follows: 1) In research on the actual storage condition, residents tend to feel constraint on storage of the season goods and the storage satisfaction on the service area is founded lowest. Therefore, it is needed more efficient space plan on the balcony storage and the interior storage for the season goods. 2) In research on the storage consciousness and attitude, residents tend to keep the goods of no use and prefer to arrange neatly rather than use conveniently. Therefore, it is needed more efficient space in the balcony for the storage of the goods of no use and the colsed furniture rather than the open furniture is suited for arrangement. 3) In research on the storage needs, needs for the built-in furniture in all family life cycle show highly and residents want to a space for the exclusive use of the storage. In a solution, we propose to equip with the interior storage and the exterior cooperative storage

A Study on Change of the Apartment Storage Space (아파트 수납공간의 양적변화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out change of the apartments stouge space in Seoul area from 1971 to 1988. It also attempts to compare the storage space in the apartment with the optimum storage space which is suggested by precedent studies on the storage space. Content analysis methods were used to analyze 961 apartment floor plan from the booklet of 'Apartment Information'. The major findings were as follows : 1) According to the precedent studies, optimum storage spaces are 3.86∼7.72㎡ for 66.07∼115.61㎡ house, and 14.23∼20.31㎡ for 115.62∼165.15㎡ house. 2) It was found out that the storage spaces of the apartments were increased until 1977∼80 and decreased after 1980. 3) Comparing the storge space with the optimum standard, most of the apartments have not enough storage space. It offers only 50% of optimum storage space. 4) The percentage of installation of storage space in bedrooms were quite low in general. Specially, bedrooms in small apartment under 66.6㎡ and most master bedrooms didn't storage spaces. 5) The sige of the apartment storage space were variant according to the builder. Only one builder from 8 offered the spaces close to the optimum standrd, and others didn't seem much care for the storage space.

A Study on the Planning of Storage Space in Apartment (아파트의 수납공간계획에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions of storage space and to plan the desirable storage space in apartment based on the results of the investigatiiov. The personal interview and phisical trace method were used for this study. The sample was taken from 50 housewives living in apartments on 30pyong. The results were analyzed by SAS package program. The major findings were summarized as follows: 1) Total amount of storage space was from 6.65$m^3$ to 28.84$m^3$ and the mean was 13.01$m^3$. 2) Storage space of each room was deficient, especially bedroom II and III. 3) The number of family member was related to the satisfaction of storage space.

  • The depression of the external situation like the departure of WTO system and the plan of EEZ proclaim is forcing fishery into improving their fishing condition. By this international and domestic circumstance, development of the sea water cooling apparatus for fish hold storage is demanded sincerely. This study represents the thermal characteristics of the fish hold storage during transportation. The numerical analysis in this study is the finite volume method with the SIMPLE computational algorithm to study the seawater flow behavior in the fish hold storage. The computation were carried out with the variations of the circulating flow velocity and depth of fish hold storage. As the result of the three dimensional simulations, the mean temperature doesn't almost change by the circulating flow rate. find the mean temperature is suddenly changed by the ratio of depth of fish hold storage.

  • The purpose of this study is to induce user to use storage equipment as fixed storage space in urban housing. The object of investigation is limited to the resident of detached and apartment house in Daegu, analysised the problems and their attitueds of using storage equipments amount of cloths and bel-clothes. On the basis of these recommended the optimum volume of storage space for clothes and bed-clothes by family types. Applied to the standard of detached house, the optimum volume of storage space for clothes and bed-clothes in each rooms are as following. 1) The volume of master room is ranged 7.34M3 and 8.65M3 the average is 7.97M3. 2) Children's room is ranged 1.18M3 and 3.26M3, the average is 2.51M3 under number of users and their age. 3) The aged room is calculated average 6.53M3.

Comparison of Algorithm based on the Container Remarshalling Efficiency Factor in Port Distribution (항만유통의 컨테이너 재정돈 성능요인에 따른 알고리즘 성능비교)

  • Purpose - Loading can decrease the productivity due to the possibility of carrying out with the opposite order of storage in container terminal. When the container is to be taken out, it is needed to move the container stacked upon the container to be carried out to other place temporarily. It is called as rehandling. Remarshalling, with the loading plan, is the arranging the containers before the ship arrives in order to avoid the rehandling during the carrying out. The present study tried to find out the factors affecting the efficiency when building the remarshalling plan with the utilization of neighboring storage space as a outer slot, and analyzed the efficiency of several remarshalling algorithms with the combination of those factors. Research design, data and methodology - The present study used, when the remarshalling plan is prepared for utilizing the outer slot, the simulation methods in order to compare the efficiency of the remarshalling algorithms which made with the factors affecting the efficiency. The factors affecting the efficiency are the method of making the child node, method of arrangement, and possibility of application of FIX. In order to analyze the affecting factors on the efficiency, several algorithms are prepared with the combination of production of the child node and the arrangement method with the availability of FIX application. With this algorithm, the effect of the factors on the efficiency after building up of remarshalling plan with the target on the bay with 10 rows, 8 columns, and 10 indices. Results - The method of rearrangement and making of a child node as the factor affecting the efficiency of remarshalling utilization of the outer bay were studied. It is efficient to combine the method of making a child node with MCS in order to reduce the number of moving the containers. For reducing the time in carrying out, it was found that all arrangement methods should be combined with RCS for the efficiency. The result of experiment shows the application of FIX with good result in case of succession ratio. In addition, when FIX was not applied, all of the most combinations resulted in short time in remarshalling. As a result, it can be concluded that the algorithm with proper combination of making the child node and the arrangement can increase the job efficiency based on the importance. Conclusion - The present study suggested and analyzed the algorithms with the combination of the arrangement method, the making of child node, and FIX. It is needed to develop the algorithm to judge the possibility whether the best remarshalling plan can be built or not within the bay in order to find a better method between the two cases such as within the bay and outer the bay. As a method for extending the study on the factors affecting the efficiency, it is possible to find out the way to build the remarshalling plan within the permitted time under any storage situation.

  • The pumped-storage power system is the one of the hydroelectric power systems, generating electricity with hydraulic head difference. In this system, the electricity is produced during the hours of peak demand by using water that has been pumped into an upper reservoir from a lower reservoir during the hours of low demand. Generally, the system consists of an under-ground power house and tunnels such as the headrace, pressure, and tailrace tunnels. The Chungsong pumped-storage power station is the sixth one In the pumped-storage power station in Korea. Both the regional self-government and the population of chungsong -Goon had made a great effort to draw this power station construction into this area. The proposed Chungsong pumped-power station construction project was accepted by the central government as a part of the national electricity plan for the first time in Korea.
