A Study on Capacitance Enhancement by Hemispherical Grain Silicon and Process Condition Properties (Hemispherical Grain Silicon에 의한 정전용량 확보 및 공정조건 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The box capacitor structure with HSG-Si described here reliably achieves a cell capacitance of 28fF with a cell area of a $0.4820\mum^2$ for 128Mbit DRAM. An HSG-Si formation technology with seeding method, which employs Si2H6 molecule irradiation and annealing, was applied for realizing 64Mbit and larger DRAMS. By using this technique, grain size controlled HSG-Si can be fabricated on in-situ phosphorous doped amorphous silicon electrodes. Effect of Various Loading Methods on Freshness of Spring Kimchi Cabbage (다양한 적입방식이 봄배추의 선도유지에 미치는 효과)

  • Kimchi cabbage is in demand all year, but there is an unbalance in its supply and demand due to climate reasons, requiring practical methods for extending storage without high cost. Therefore, this study aimed to assess available storage methods. 'Choongwang' Kimchi cabbages cultivated in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do were on June 14 harvested and packed in plastic boxes. Control group was treated by loading four to five heads. Moisturized paper was applied as a liner inside the box to prevent dehumidification and damage to the cut root parts, and a small loading amount (three heads) was applied for better air circulation. Weight loss rates after 12 weeks of storage were 13.83% in the control group, 12.57% in the first group, and 13.38% in the second group. Trimming loss rates after 9 weeks of storage were 14.96% in the control group, 12.29% in the first group, and 12.55% in the second group. As a result of the sensory test, the control group lost its marketability after 6 weeks of storage, while the second group maintained it until 9 weeks and the first group maintained it until 12 weeks and scored higher than 6 points. Therefore, the tested methods were effective for extending the freshness of Kimchi.

The Influences of Temperature and Humidity in Storage Room, Moisture Content and Packing Weight of Leaf on the Carbonization of Processed Flue-cured Leaf Tobacco (저장실의 온습도, 제통수분함량 및 제통중량이 황색종 가공엽의 탄화에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the influences of environmental condition in storage room, moisture content and packing weight of leaf on the carbonization of processed flue-cured leaf tobacco, and find out a regression model able to pre-estimate the degree of carbonization. The influence of temperature and humidity in storage room on the carbonization was high,, while that of packing weight was relatively low, However, high moisture content and packing weight of leaf accelerated the carbonization under the high temperature and humidity condition. Thus the leaf tobacco under the condition of 4$0^{\circ}C$, 7$0^{\circ}C$ R.H. in storage room, 16% moisture content and 286 kg/box of packing weight could be carbonized within one month. The pH, total sugar content, lightness(L) and yellowness(b) of leaf were closely related to carbonization of leaf during storage. There were significant regression and yellowness of leaf. It is considered that the certification and/or pre-estimation of carbonization during storage may be possible by applying the regression equation.

  • MIDAS-II는 한국전자통신연구원에서 개발한 바다 DBMS의 저장 시스템이다. MIDAS-II 볼륨은 데이터의 논리적 저장 단위인 파일을 저장하는 영역을 가리킨다. 본 논문에서는, MIDAS-II가 대용량 멀티미디어 데이터 서버의 저장 시스템으로 기능하도록 광 디스크 쥬크박스 또는 테이프 라이브러리와 같이 복수 개의 저장 매체 (platter , 예를 들어 디스크 또는 카트리지 테이프)로 구성된 Tera 바이트 급의 3창 저장 장치를 장착할 경우 이를 위한 볼륨 구조의 설계 및 구현에 대해 기술한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 볼륨 구조는 3차 저장 장치 접근 시 성능 제고를 위하여 디스크 캐쉬 영역을 두고 있으며, 3차 저장 장치의 저장 매체별 관리 기능을 제공한다. Abstract MIDAS-II is the storage systemfor BADA DBMS developed at ETRI. A volume of MIDAS-II is the area where the files, the logical unit for storing data, are stored. This paaper describes the design and implementation of a new MIDAS-II volume structure for the tertiary storage device such as an optical disk juke box or a tape library equipped with multiple platters(disks or cartridge tapes, for example ). Incorporating thetertirary storage device of the order of tera bytes into MIDAS-II enables it to function as a storage system for a massive amount fo multimedia eata server. The volume structure for the tertiary storage device proposed in this paper features disk caching for performing improvement and direct control of theindividual platter.

  • The development of technology related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the growth of the online market due to pandemic are continuing the growth of the logistics market for product delivery. If it is difficult to deliver the product directly to the customer during delivery, storage and delivery using the unmanned courier box are being carried out. However, existing storage boxes are not actively used due to lack of usability even though they have the advantage of storing goods and delivering non-face-to-face. In addition, existing courier boxes are not prepared for cold chain transportation. The unmanned delivery storage device with ICT cold chain technology should be developed to prepare for the transition to non-face-to-face society, to improve logistics efficiency and meet user's requirements. Also, it is necessary to consider the measures to reduce the safety problems that may occur during the use and maintenance of the automatic system. This study conducted a model-based analysis for the development of unmanned delivery storage devices with ICT cold chain technology, and conducted a study to derive the system development specifications that meet the requirements and secure safety and apply them to the development process.

Awareness of Environmental Pollution and Attitudes toward Eco-Friendly Clothing according to Women's LOHAS Lifestyle (성인 여성들의 로하스 라이프스타일에 따른 환경오염 인지와 친환경 의류에 대한 태도)

  • The purposes of this study were to identify awareness of pollution and attitudes toward eco-friendly clothing according to women's LOHAS lifestyle. Over 60% of women were not aware of severity of environment pollution by clothing wastes and 37.2% kept their not-wearing clothing in dead storage. 26.7% of women disposed not-wearing clothing into clothing collecting box separately and 20.9% sent them to neighbors or friends. 39.4% of women were willing to pay 10% more for eco-friendly clothing and 84.6% were not willing to buy clothing produced by unethical companies. Factors of LOHAS lifestyle were healthy food, environmental protection, family life, healthy clothing, healthy housing, and community service, and were segmented into using leisure group, family centered group, LOHAS group, and LOHAS stagnated group. Using leisure group were university women with low incomes, well aware of environmental pollution by clothing wastes and eco-friendly clothing, kept their not-wearing clothing into dead storage, and low intention to buy clothing produced by unethical companies. Family centered group were women of 30’s with average income and higher educationl, unaware of environmental pollution by clothing wastes and eco-friendly clothing, but low intention to buying them, disposed not-wearing clothing into clothing collecting box. LOHAS group were the over forties home makers with higher income and education, well aware of severity of environmental pollution, sent not-wearing clothing to others or remodeled, intended to buy eco-friendly clothing, and not to buy clothing produced by unethical companies. LOHAS stagnated group were university students, unaware of severity of environmental pollution by clothing wastes and threw not-wearing clothing into trash box, no experience of eco-friendly clothing, could buy clothing produced by unethical companies if needed.

Investigation of Internal Temperature Distribution in Domestic Refrigerators and Freezers (가정용 식품 냉장고와 냉동고의 내부 온도 분포 실태 조사)

  • This study surveyed and compared the temperature distribution in domestic refrigerators and freezers used in Korea to determine whether temperature varied according to the location of food storage. We selected 50 people to collect temperature data; among them, 25 measured the temperature of refrigerators, while the remaining measured the temperature of freezers. Consequently, the lowest and highest temperatures measured in domestic refrigerators were found to be -8.2℃ and 15.8℃, respectively, with an average temperature of 3.73℃. The temperature distribution based on internal location was: 5.06±1.69℃ for the door storage compartment, 4.18±1.19℃ for the inside wall surface, and 3.41±1.36℃ for the inner storage box. Significant temperature differences between the top and bottom were only identified at the door storage compartment (P<0.01). Further, the minimum and maximum temperatures measured in the freezer was -30.3℃ and 0.7℃, respectively, with an average temperature of -17.95℃. The temperature distribution based on location was: -17.19±1.68℃ for the door storage compartment, -17.81±1.07℃ for the inside wall surface, and -18.78±1.72℃ for the inside storage box. The results were similar to that of the refrigerator, with the lowest temperature in the inside storage box, and a significant temperature difference between the top and bottom noted only at the door (P<0.01). The maximum temperature difference (between locations) within the refrigerator and freezer was found to be 2.18 and 2.02℃, respectively. In conclusion, the temperature in the entire space was not constant; there were significant deviations at different storage locations. Therefore, public authorities should actively advise customers on the recommended storage locations for each food type. People will benefit from awareness about storage management, including avoiding storage of temperature-sensitive foods in door compartment.

Quality characteristics of beef in thermoelectric cooling system combined with plasma during storage (열전소자 장치 및 플라즈마 처리에 의한 소고기 저장 중 품질특성)

  • This study was performed in order to examine the effect of a thermoelectric cooling system combined with plasma on beef. Beef was studied in a box with a thermoelectric cooling system and plasma generation apparatus (TCS-1), a box with thermoelectric cooling system (TCS-2) and a polystyrene box (control). A temperature inside the thermoelectric cooling system was kept below $2^{\circ}C$, and volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) values of TCS-1 and TCS-2 were 7.72 mg% and 9.20 mg%, respectively. The thiobarbituric acid (TBA) value (0.52 mgMA/kg) of TCS-1 was significantly lower than that (0.91 mgMA/kg) of TCS-2. For volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) value, TCS-1 maintained freshness compared to TCS-2, since the freshness of TCS-1 value (6.98-9.77 mg%) was less than that of TCS-2 (6.98-11.45 mg%) during storage. The microbial counts of TCS-1 and TCS-2 were 4.62 log CFU/g and 7.09 log CFU/g, respectively, on the $7^{th}$ day, which were lower than that (8.45 log CFU/g) of control on the $3^{rd}$ day. Sensory evaluation of TCS-1 showed the highest scores for appearance, color, juiciness, and overall acceptability than the others. In conclusion, TCS-1 was effective for maintaining freshness of beef during storage.

A Master Packaging System for Preserving Qualities of Peaches in the Fresh Produce Supply Chain (농산물 유통과정에서 복숭아의 품질유지를 위한 마스터 포장 시스템)

  • A packaging system integrated in primary and secondary packages to deliver consumers fresh peach in the produce supply chain was designed and its effectiveness on quality preservation was tested. The master packaging system was designed to contain 6 individual polypropylene film (PP, $30{\mu}m$ thickness) packages of 300 g peach fruit inside $35{\mu}m$ thick low density polyethylene (LDPE) bag located in a corrugated paperboard box. As a variable to attain the desired package atmosphere around the fruit during cold storage and subsequent retail display at higher temperature, different numbers (1, 3 and 7) of microperforations in $59{\mu}m$ diameter were tested on the individual PP packages. As control treatment, six fruits were placed without wrapping in a corrugated paperboard box. During the storage at $5^{\circ}C$, the control and individual packages were periodically separated from the box or master package, moved to the simulated retail shelf conditions of $20^{\circ}C$ and then stored for 3 more days with package atmosphere and fruit quality being measured. The package with 7 microperforations was the best in the ability to attain beneficial MA of 6~10% $O_2$ and 11~19% $CO_2$ around the fruit during the chilled storage at $5^{\circ}C$ and simulated retail display at $20^{\circ}C$. Packages with smaller number of microperforations resulted in anaerobic atmosphere at the low temperature storage and/or the subsequent high temperature display. Compared to control, all the treatments with master packaging system gave better retention of fruit firmness with significantly less weight loss.

A Comparative Study on Korean, Chinese and Japanese Traditional Furnitures for Storage (한.중.일 전통 수납류가구의 유사성과 상이성에 관한 비교 연구)

  • Purpose of this paper is find the similarity and dissimilarity of Korean, Chinese and Japanese traditional furnitures for storage. Also this paper tries to have a comparative analysis on life style, characteristics of housing space and furniture's form of three countries. The study can be summarized as follows. First, space scale and seat levels of three countries are related to furniture's height and form, so that Chinese furniture have over scale than human, and Japanese furniture have the type of box for stacking. Second, the way of heating and materials of floors are concerned with the type of furniture's legs. Third, even if these dissimilarities, the aesthetic characteristics of three countries furniture would be a data base for making design identity of East Asian modern housing furniture.
