  • The main objective of this research is to examine the effect of organizational culture, environmental uncertainty, and manager's personnel value on environmental disclosure through the environmental organizational structure of manufacturing companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This research uses the structuration and contingency theory. The sample in this study focused on the level of heads or managers or directors of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research data was obtained through an online questionnaire distributed to heads or managers. The total sample of this study is 161 manufacturing companies. The data comprising of 64 respondents was completed and can be processed. Empirical testing used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through Partial Least Square (PLS). The result shows that environmental uncertainty and management personnel value have a positive effect on the environmental organizational structure, as well as the environmental organizational structure has a positive effect on the environmental disclosure. However, organizational culture has no effect on the environmental organizational structure. This research can provide benefits for manufacturing companies. The limitation include the low level of response from the respondents. Also the results cannot be generalized due to its specific focus on the manufacturing companies.

  • This paper examines the effects of corporate ownership structure variables on stock returns. The dependent variables identified in this paper include the equity ratio of large shareholders, institutional investors and foreign investors, and the control variables are firm size, book-to-market ratio, and earning-to-price ratio and leverage. This paper finds that the results of regressions say that institutional investors and foreign investors, firm size, book-to-market ratio and earning-to-price ratio can explain the differences in stock returns using panel data.

  • Underframes of rolling stock structure are made of hot rolled steel of SS400 or SM490A. While these underframe steels are designed to satisfy the mechanical requirements, their corrosion behavior also should taken into account. Underframes are coated to prevent corrosion, but they are often defected by external factors to result in local corrosion which may cause the weakness of mechanical strength. Thus, the corrosion of underframe steels was examined through atmospheric corrosion test to estimate service life and safety.

  • The machine structure or parts has been arrive at a fracture, depend on crack by repeated load. Machine designer is estimate of fatigue strength in early stages the design for prevent fatigue fracture, then necessary its load history. This research study is using diesel locomotive in measurement of load history for fatigue design of rolling stock. The relation between velocity and amplitude of load history was found. We confirmed that the increase of velocity make to increase the magnitude of amplitude.

  • Forest ecosystem is considered as an important stepping stone to minimize the impact of climate change. However, the rapid urbanization has caused fragmentation of forest ecosystem. The fragmentation of forest patch results in edge effect which brings about adverse impacts on forest function and structure. Degradation of forest ecosystem decreases carbon sequestration because edge effect reduces productivity. Therefore, we analyzed the impact of forest edge effect on forest ecosystem carbon stock change in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. We used connectivity analysis to determine forest edge and core area. The field study sites were selected with considering forest age, density, class and soil type. Secondly, forest carbon stock was calculated with allometric equation. The soil carbon stock was derived from Walkely-Black method. Lastly, Mann-Whitney test was conducted to validate differences between carbon stock in edge and core area. As a result of study, the connectivity analysis was effective to determine forest edge and core. The core and edge of forest patch showed different composition of tree species and soil properties. Carbon stock per tree in the edge area was lower than that in the core area. However, the difference of soil organic carbon content between the edge and core were relatively small. This assessment can be applied for the conservation of forest patch as well as quantitative assessment on the forest carbon stock change caused by fragmentation.

  • Recently, KOSDAQ company's cyber IR activities has increased. Major advantages offered by the Internet include low cost and high accessibility the Internet is used as a strategic tool of many KOSDAQ companies in IR activity. Thus, this study tried to empirically analyze the overall impact of cyber IR. And this study examine the difference in impact of cyber IR activity on stock prices in the period before and after depending on ownership structure and venture or not. The main result of the study can be summarized as follows. First, IR activities have a positive impact on KOSDAQ firms stock price. This means that the investors are recognizing IR activity of KOSDAQ firm as a good news. Second, The lower stock ownership have great impact on stock prices. The act of reporting and monitoring system are performing effectively to lower stock ownership as compared with higher stock ownership. Third, The return rate of KOSDAQ venture firms with IR enforcement effect appears high than KOSDAQ firms with IR enforcement.

  • The Minke whale, Balaenoptera acutorostrata, is the smallest baleen whale in the suborder Mysticeti. Because this species inhabits coastal areas, it became a main target species of coastal small-type whaling in the North Atlantic and the Northwest Pacific Oceans, and the species' population size dramatically decreased because of over-exploitation. As a result, the International Whaling Commission declared a global moratorium on whaling and launched the development of a management procedure for protecting the whales. Morphological studies, whaling history analysis, and genetic studies conducted mainly by Japanese scientists showed the existence of one unique "E" stock that inhabits the waters around the Korean peninsula and mixes with the "O" stock in the southern part of the Sea of Okhotsk. We used the mitochondrial DNA control region polymorphism of 348 Minke whales bycaught or stranded in Korean waters from 30 October 1998 to 25 June 2005 to assess the whale population structure by year. The frequency of the 10 major haplotypes from the 40 identified haplotypes was not significantly different among groups, suggesting that a subpopulation was not present. A comparison of the genetic distances calculated with Tamura-Nei's method showed that the distances between groups were lower than those within groups, which suggests that there was no genetic difference in the Minke whale populations. The Fst comparison between groups and the phylogenetic tree constructed using the unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean (UPGMA) and Neighbor Joining (NJ) method also detected no obvious sub-stock structure.

  • A macroeconomic minimodel was simulated to analyze the effect of global exchange on the Korea\\`s economy. The simulation results illustrate some of the consequences of public policy and some insight into current world problems. All computer simulation runs made under various conditions suggest that the Korea\\`s system in the near future may be strongly influenced by the favorable availability of outside resources, while the national power and assets may be declined by indigenous environmental stock depletion. The borrowed capital allows the temporary money stock to increase and the national assets to grow faster and a little higher, as using up the environmental resources more quickly. Later, when the debt is paid off, the foreign exchange holdings may not go so high. For the environmentally sound and sustainable development, over 75% of total economic production should be invested to the natural resource management. Therefore, the economic structure of Korea should be transferred from the present industrial structure to social-economic structure based on ecological-recycling concept.

  • Shanghai Stock Exchange is the largest stock exchange of emerging markets that there were listed firms 905, listed securities 1,537, listed stocks 949, total number of listed stocks 2 trillion 2000 billion shares. There is more development that is expected to occur in the future. The purpose of this study is to find determinants of capital structure to listed manufacturing firms in Shanghai Stock Exchange using multiple regression. Conclusions of this study are summarized as follows. First, firm size is positively related to debt ratio significantly at 1% significance level.. Second, the profitability is negatively related to debt ratio significantly at 1% significance level. Third, the growth ability is positively related to debt ratio significantly at 1% significance level. fourth, cash flow, the largest shares ownership, negotiable shares ratio are negatively related to debt ratio but they are not significant statistically. The result of this study provides information for investors and can be utilized to improvement of financial structure.
