  • In this paper an approach to building fuzzy model to predict daily open, close, high, and low stock prices is presented. One of prior problems in building a stock prediction model is to select most effective indicators for the stock prediction. The problem is overcome by the selection of information used in the analysis of stick-chart as the input variables of our fuzzy model. The fuzzy rules have the premise and the consequent, in which they are composed of trapezoidal membership functions, and nonlinear equations, respectively. DE(Differential Evolution) searches optimal fuzzy rules through an evolutionary process. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach numerical example is considered. The fuzzy models to predict open, high, low, and close prices of KOSPI(KOrea composite Stock Price Index) on a daily basis are built, and their performances are demonstrated and compared with those of neural network.

  • In this paper an approach to building fuzzy models for predicting daily and weekly stock prices is presented. Predicting stock prices with traditional time series analysis has proven to be difficult. Fuzzy logic based models have advantage of expressing the input-output relation linguistically, which facilitates the understanding of the system behavior. In building a stock prediction model we bear a burden of selecting most effective indicators for the stock prediction. In this paper information used in traditional candle stick-chart analysis is considered as input variables of our fuzzy models. The fuzzy rules have the premises and the consequents composed of trapezoidal membership functions and nonlinear equations, respectively. DE(Differential Evolution) identifies optimal fuzzy rules through an evolutionary process. The fuzzy models to predict daily and weekly open, high, low, and close prices of KOSPI(KOrea composite Stock Price Index) are built, and their performances are demonstrated.

  • There are many investors in the stock market, and more and more people get interested in the stock investment. In order to avoid risks and make profit in the stock investment, we have to determine several aspects using various information. That is, we have to select profitable stocks and determine appropriate buying/selling prices and holding period. This paper proposes a data mining tool for the investors' decision support. The data mining tool makes stock investors apply machine learning techniques and generate stock price prediction model. Also it helps determine buying/selling prices and holding period. It supports individual investor's own decision making using past data. Using the proposed tool, users can manage stock data, generate their own stock price prediction models, and establish trading policy via investment simulation. Users can select technical indicators which they think affect future stock price. Then they can generate stock price prediction models using the indicators and test the models. They also perform investment simulation using proper models to find appropriate trading policy consisting of buying/selling prices and holding period. Using the proposed data mining tool, stock investors can expect more profit with the help of stock price prediction model and trading policy validated on past data, instead of with an emotional decision.

  • Stock price prediction research in the financial sector aims to ensure trading stability and achieve profit realization. Conventional statistical prediction techniques are not reliable for actual trading decisions due to low prediction accuracy compared to randomly predicted results. Artificial intelligence models improve accuracy by learning data characteristics and fluctuation patterns to make predictions. However, predicting stock prices using long-term time series data remains a challenging problem. This paper proposes a stable and reliable stock price prediction method using K-means clustering-based data augmentation and normalization techniques and LSTM models specialized in time series learning. This enables obtaining more accurate and reliable prediction results and pursuing high profits, as well as contributing to market stability.

  • Recently, investors' interest and the influence of stock-related information dissemination are being considered as significant factors that explain stock returns and volume. Besides, companies that develop, distribute, or utilize innovative new technologies such as artificial intelligence have a problem that it is difficult to accurately predict a company's future stock returns and volatility due to macro-environment and market uncertainty. Market uncertainty is recognized as an obstacle to the activation and spread of artificial intelligence technology, so research is needed to mitigate this. Hence, the purpose of this study is to propose a machine learning model that predicts the volatility of a company's stock price by using the internet search volume of artificial intelligence-related technology keywords as a measure of the interest of investors. To this end, for predicting the stock market, we using the VAR(Vector Auto Regression) and deep neural network LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory). And the stock price prediction performance using keyword search volume is compared according to the technology's social acceptance stage. In addition, we also conduct the analysis of sub-technology of artificial intelligence technology to examine the change in the search volume of detailed technology keywords according to the technology acceptance stage and the effect of interest in specific technology on the stock market forecast. To this end, in this study, the words artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning were selected as keywords. Next, we investigated how many keywords each week appeared in online documents for five years from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2019. The stock price and transaction volume data of KOSDAQ listed companies were also collected and used for analysis. As a result, we found that the keyword search volume for artificial intelligence technology increased as the social acceptance of artificial intelligence technology increased. In particular, starting from AlphaGo Shock, the keyword search volume for artificial intelligence itself and detailed technologies such as machine learning and deep learning appeared to increase. Also, the keyword search volume for artificial intelligence technology increases as the social acceptance stage progresses. It showed high accuracy, and it was confirmed that the acceptance stages showing the best prediction performance were different for each keyword. As a result of stock price prediction based on keyword search volume for each social acceptance stage of artificial intelligence technologies classified in this study, the awareness stage's prediction accuracy was found to be the highest. The prediction accuracy was different according to the keywords used in the stock price prediction model for each social acceptance stage. Therefore, when constructing a stock price prediction model using technology keywords, it is necessary to consider social acceptance of the technology and sub-technology classification. The results of this study provide the following implications. First, to predict the return on investment for companies based on innovative technology, it is most important to capture the recognition stage in which public interest rapidly increases in social acceptance of the technology. Second, the change in keyword search volume and the accuracy of the prediction model varies according to the social acceptance of technology should be considered in developing a Decision Support System for investment such as the big data-based Robo-advisor recently introduced by the financial sector.

  • Recently in Korea, YouTube stock channels increased rapidly due to the high social interest in the stock market during the COVID-19 period. Accordingly, the role of new media channels such as YouTube is attracting attention in the process of generating and disseminating market information. Nevertheless, prior studies on the market forecasting power of YouTube stock channels remain insignificant. In this study, the market forecasting power of the information from the YouTube stock channel was examined and compared with traditional news media. To measure information from each YouTube stock channel and news media, positive and negative opinions were extracted. As a result of the analysis, opinion in channels operated by media outlets were found to be leading indicators of KOSPI market returns among YouTube stock channels. The prediction accuracy by using logistic regression model show 74%. On the other hand, Sampro TV, a popular YouTube stock channel, and the traditional news media simply reported the market situation of the day or instead showed a tendency to lag behind the market. This study is differentiated from previous studies in that it verified the market predictive power of the information provided by the YouTube stock channel, which has recently shown a growing trend in Korea. In the future, the results of advanced analysis can be confirmed by expanding the research results for individual stocks.

  • The stock price prediction for stock markets remains an unsolved problem. Although there have been various overtures and studies to predict the price of stocks scientifically, it is impossible to predict the future precisely. However, stock price predictions have been a subject of interest in a variety of related fields such as economics, mathematics, physics, and computer science. In this paper, we will study fluctuation patterns of stock prices and predict future trends using the Deep learning. Therefore, this study presents the three deep learning models using Tensorflow, an open source framework in which each learning model accepts different input features. We expand the previous study that used simple price data. We measured the performance of three predictive models increasing the number of priced-based input features. Through this experiment, we measured the performance change of the predictive model depending on the price-based input features. Finally, we compared and analyzed the experiment result to evaluate the impact of the price-based input features in stock price prediction.

  • Stock prices are influenced by a number of external factors, such as laws and trends, as well as number-based internal factors such as trading volume and closing prices. Since many factors affect stock prices, it is very difficult to accurately predict stock prices using only fragmentary stock data. In particular, since the value of a company is greatly affected by the perception of people who actually trade stocks, emotional information about a specific company is considered an important factor. In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based stock price prediction model using sentiment analysis with news data considering temporal characteristics. Stock and news data, two heterogeneous data with different characteristics, are integrated according to time scale and used as input to the model, and the effect of time scale and sentiment index on stock price prediction is finally compared and analyzed. Also, we verify that the accuracy of the proposed model is improved through comparative experiments with existing models.

  • Stock market prediction has been long dream for researchers as well as the public. Forecasting ever-changing stock market, though, proved a Herculean task. This study proposes a novel stock market sentiment lexicon acquisition system that can predict the growth (or decline) of stock market index, based on economic news. For this purpose, we have collected 3-year's economic news from January 2015 to December 2017 and adopted Word2Vec model to consider the context of words. To evaluate the result, we performed sentiment analysis to collected news data with the automated constructed lexicon and compared with closings of the KOSPI (Korea Composite Stock Price Index), the South Korean stock market index based on economic news.
