This paper presents a new sensorless control scheme using simple duty signal feedback technique in DC-DC converters. The proposed sensorless control scheme (DFC) has the characteristics that they show the same as operation performance of current mode control by using duty feedback technique without current sensor as well as present better dynamic response performance than conventional sensorless current mode control (SCM) in case that input source is perturbed by step change or DC input source includes the . harmonics. Also, the proposed control scheme has good noise immunity and simple control circuits since they have one feedback loop, and can be applied to all DC-DC converters. The concept and control principles of the proposed control scheme are explained in detail and the validity of the proposed control scheme is verified through several interesting simulated results.
This paper presents the application of adaptive phase-locked loop (adaptive PLL) technique to control the process variable of the process control system. The adaptive algorithm is related to the error. When the error of the system is changed, the adaptive gain will be directly changed according to the error. If the value of the adaptive gain is large, the value of the error will be large. In this experiment, the reference input is 50% step input. The experimental result in controlling the first order lag process by the adaptive PLL shows that the response of the controlled system has no overshoot, short rise time, and zero steady-state error. The experimental result also shows that when the output disturbance enters to the process control system, the adaptive PLL can maintain the stability of the system and the effect of the output disturbance can also be fast rejected. The adaptive PLL has better performance ...

This paper deals with a problem searching a target transfer function to meet the time-domain specifications for feedback system with given plant transfer function. For the Type I system, we first define three forms of transient response to unit step input, which are named by F, M, S-type. These are charaacterized as follows ; F-type has fast initial response and slow approach to the steady sate after reaching at 90% of the steady state value, S-type has slow initial response but fast approach to the steady state, and M-type is denoted by highly smooth response between F-type and S-type. Three prototypes corresponding to each form are proposed, time. For the order $n{\geq}4$, after determining admissible root structures of target characteristic polynomials empirically and expressing such polynomial coefficients by using special parameters ${\gamma}_i$ and $\epsilon$, the optimal prototypes that minimize the integral of the squared of the modified errors(ISME) have been obtained. Since the step responses of these prototypes have almost same wave forms irrespective to the order, the desired settling time or the rise time can be converted into the equibalent time constant $\tau$ and thus it is easy to obtain a target transfer function. It is shown through a design example that the present prototype is very useful for meeting the time-domain specifications and has been compared with different methods with a viewpoint of pertinence.

Because of the increasing demand on the high precision and high response of a machinery, proportional control valves are widely adopted at various application fields. This paper studies on the static and dynamic characteristics of a pilot proportional pressure control valve. An experimental apparatus including hydraulic pump, variable speed inverter, pressure and flow sensors and data aquisition system was set up. And various experiments such as P-Q-V curves, step responses due to input voltage and flow rate, hysteresis, frequency response of the proportional valve was carried out and the results are discussed.
This paper, we propose a new phase-locked loop (PLL) system with the controllable output phase, independent from the output frequency, and lock-up time. This PLL system has a dual control loop is described, the inner loop greatly improved VCO characteristic such as faster speed response as well as higher operation bandwidth, to minimize the effect of the VCO noise and the power supply variation and also get better linearity of VCO output. The main loop is the heart of this PLL which greatly improved the output frequency instability due to the external high frequency noise coupling to the input reference frequency also the main loop can control the output phase, independent from the output frequency, and reduce the lock-up time of the step frequency response. The experimental results confirm the validity of the proposed strategy.

Pneumatic servo valve which is widely applied in industrial world is advanced technology compounded with electric, electronic and machine. And It is consist of Linear Force Motor. Spool Commutation Mechanism and Microprocessor. In this study, we accomplished test method of Linear Force motor test, Static characteristic test, Dynamic characteristic test for KS(Koran industrial standard) of Pneumatic servo valve. we accomplished study about the main item of Static characteristic test which is related to unload flow characteristic test. And Dynamic characteristic test was step input test and frequency response test. Specially about frequency response test, There was a difficulty resulting from the time delay problem caused by the basic compressibility of air. In order to solve the problem in this study. we proposed two methods. First, displacement of the servo valve spool was directly measured by using a laser sensor. Second, method of calculating control flow by measuring pressure and temperature of chamber.
A proportional pressure control valve has a nonmagnetic ring which is inserted in between a coil and plunger and it can get attraction force in proportion to input current by an influence of control cone. Therefore, a proportional pressure control valve is applied to a servo system as substitution of servo valve and an on-off solenoid valve widely because control of a high level is possible and pollution level is low. The purpose of this study is to develop domestic model of a proportional pressure control valve, and a test model was designed and manufactured through valve system analysis and finite element analysis. And comparison between results of theoretical analysis and static / dynamic characteristics test were carried out on a manufactured test model, and it was confirmed that it has excellent performance in comparison with other foreign products.

This paper presents the development of an algorithm for position control of feed drives in machine tools. The algorithm is constructed through an experimental method based on proportional control with a ramp input. In the first step of designing, a tracking-error curve is generated with the proportional control, and then an error model is decided to reduce the tracking error, Next, the output signal of the error model is added to the current error signal to yield the actuating error signal. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is confirmed through simulation and experiments.

A DC generator control system was designed to control the torque of a rotating shaft precisely. The control system is composed of a strain gage type torque cell, a torque cell amplifier, a computer, a D/A converter, a error detector, a DC voltage amplifier and a resistor. The response test under unit step input and the dynamic stability test for the designed control system were carried out. It was confirmed that the settling time from the response test is about 4 s and the error from the dynamic stability test is less than 0.06% of rated output of torque cell. The designed control system may be used to control a DC generator which may be used to apply torque to a rotating shaft.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze 'response time', 'peak response time' and 'overshoot value' for each muscle by applying the EMG signal to the vehicle response in ISO 7401 and to quantify the response of the driver according to vehicle characteristics by comparing vehicle characteristics and muscle responses of the driver. Background: The Open-loop test defined in international standards ISO 7401 is the only method for evaluating the performance of the vehicle. However, this test was focused only on mechanical responses, not driver's ones. Method: One skilled male driver(22 yrs. experience) was participated in this experiment to measure muscle activities of the driver in transient state. Then the seven muscle signals were applied to calculate 'response time', 'peak response time', and 'overshoot value'. Results: In the analyses of the EMG data, the effects of vehicle type and muscle were statistically significant on the 'response time' and 'peak response time'. Also, the effects of vehicle type, muscle, and lateral acceleration level were statistically significant on the 'overshoot value' in this study. According to the analyses of the vehicle motion data, vehicle motion variable(LatAcc, Roll, YawVel) was statistically significant on the 'response time' and vehicle type, vehicle motion variable, and lateral acceleration level were statistically significant on the 'peak response time', respectively. Conclusion: In the analyses of the 'response time' and 'overshoot value', the data of muscle activities(EMGs) was better index that could evaluate the vehicle characteristic and performance than the data of vehicle motion. In case of peak response time, both EMG and vehicle motion data were good index. Application: The EMGs data from a driver might be applicable as index for evaluation of various vehicle performances based on this study.
