NiCrAly/YSZ(8wt% Y2O3-Zro2) functionally fraded thermal barrier coating (FGC) layers on a Co-base sureralloy (HAYNESS 188) substrate were fabricated using Ar shielded single torch air plasma spraying method. Functional grading were produced with the stepwise compositional change throughout layer thinkness. Microstructural observation revealed a sucessful fabrication of NiCrAly/YSZ FGC. From the results of the curvature measurement, adhesive stength measurement and thermal shock test for the FGC, it was concluded that the optimum enhance of functionally graded coating layer thinkcess and compositional pattern exit to enhance the properties of FGC, which is closely reated to the internal residual distribution with it.
The design of tall buildings has recently provided many challenges to structural engineers. One such challenge is to minimise the cross-sectional dimensions of columns to ensure greater floor space in a building is attainable. This has both an economic and aesthetics benefit in buildings, which require structural engineering solutions. The use of high strength steel in tall buildings has the ability to achieve these benefits as the material provides a higher strength to cross-section ratio. However as the strength of the steel is increased the buckling characteristics become more dominant with slenderness limits for both local and global buckling becoming more significant. To arrest the problems associated with buckling of high strength steel, concrete filling and encasement can be utilised as it has the affect of changing the buckling mode, which increases the strength and stiffness of the member. This paper describes an experimental program undertaken for both encased and concrete filled composite columns, which were designed to be stocky in nature and thus fail by strength alone. The columns were designed to consider the strength in axial compression and were fabricated from high strength steel plate. In addition to the encased and concrete filled columns, unencased columns and hollow columns were also fabricated and tested to act as calibration specimens. A model for the axial strength was suggested and this is shown to compare well with the test results. Finally aspects of further research are addressed in this paper which include considering the effects of slender columns which may fail by global instabilities.
The method of JSME S001-83 and ASTM E813-87 have been adapted for evaluation of the elastic-plastic fracture toughness J sub(IC) of SB41 steel. This SB41 steel have the characteristics of low-stength CT specimens. The test results obtained have been considered and compared on the basis of resulted data from two kinds of methods(JSME S001-83, ASTM E813-87) and two kinds of specimen configurations(smooth, side-grooved). On the basis of results from consideration and comparison, the difficulties for its application were presented in case when the standard ASTM E813-87 method was employed for the measurement of J sub(IC) in SB41 steel. A modified method was applied for measuring J sub(IC) in SB41 steel that it used the blunting line real-measured by experiment instead of the standard blunting line theoretically determined, and the result from that procedure was analyzed and the usefulness of that method was examined and considered.
Beta-type alloys are the most versatile class of titanium alloys. They offer the highest strength to weight ratios and very attractive combinations of strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance inlarge cross sections [1]. The present study was made to obtain useful information for the design of ${\beta}$-type titanium alloys with high-strength properties by using the $DV-X{\alpha}$ method. Employing two calculated parameters, the bond order (Bo) and the d-orbital energy level (Md) of alloying elements in ${\beta}$-type titanium alloy was introduced and used for prediction of mechanical properties. Thus, high-strength titanium alloys were designed by calculating the Md and Bo values of the previous and present titanium alloys.

Shear strengths of reinforced high strength concrete beams without web reinforcement are studied with experimental analysis of 10 specimen with 2.4 shear span-to-depth ratio (a/d) beams for 4 stages of concrete compressive stength over 60MPa comparing ultimate loads and shear stresses of ACI363R and KCI code equations. Expecially, concrete compressive strengths used in shear design were essentially limited to 10,000 psi (69MPa) by ACI363R and KCI Code. The modified Code equation's shear stresses of the specimen without the limit are compared with test results. The comparison between the modified exist Code equations results and test results are expected to show an available scope to apply in construction field and to give considerations of design and contraction.
Dietary peptides have recently received attention regarding their beneficial effects on nutrient metabolism since the caseinphosphoptides obtained from casein hydrolysate are generally believed to enhance the intestinal absorption of Ca. The two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of various hydrolyzed fractions of gluten on Ca bioavailability. The gluten hydrolysate of dietary components was produced by enzymatic hydrolysis of gluten whereas gluten hydrolysate supernationt and its precipiate resulted from centrifugation. In experiment I, the rats were for 4 weeks fed the 4 kinds of diets containing same amount of nitrogen and calories and diffeing only in the forms of nitrogen sources. The diets were gluten (G), gluten hydrolysat(GH), gluten hydrolysate supernatant(GHS) and gluten hydrolysate precipitatie(GHP). Determination was made for the body weight gain, serum Ca concentration, Ca solubility in small intestinal contents, bone weight, length and stength, bone ash and Ca content, and Ca balance, respectively. No significant difference was noticed as regards growth, serum Ca, and bone dimension and Ca content among rat groups. More significant increase was observed with regard to Ca absorption and intestinal solubility in the rats receiving the GH or GHS diet which containe crude gluten peptides, than in those subjected to G or GHP diet. In experiment II, in vitro determination for Ca solubility was made to ascertain the mechanism responsible for the effects of gluten peptides on Ca absorption. The 10mM Ca in potassium phosphate buffer solution(pH 7.0) incubated for 3 hours at 37$^{\circ}C$ by the GHS fraction, was observed to be capable of increasing the Ca solubility at 5-25mg/ml concentration of gluten peptides. These observations suggest that the gluten peptides from gluten hydrolysate may enhance the Ca absorption efficiency by increasing the solubility of Ca in small intestine.

The static tensile load bearing capability of as adhesively-bonded tubular single lap jint that is calculated usign the linear mechanical properties of adhesive is usually far from the experimentally determined because the majority of the load transfer of the adhesively-bonded jointd is accomplished by the nonlinear behavior of the rubber-toughened eoxy adhesive. In this paper, both the nonlinear mechanical properties and the fabrication residual thermal stresses of adhesive were included in the calculation of the stresses of adhesively-bonded joints. The onlinear tensile properties of adhesive were approximated by an exponential form which was represented by the initial tensile modulus and ultimate tensile stength of adhesive. The stress distribution in the adhesive were calculated by applying the load obtained from the tensile tests. From the tensile tests and the stress analysis of adhesively-bonded hoints, the failure model for adhesively-bonded tubular single lap joints was proposed.
Composite resin and glass-ionomer cement can be used for the purpose of repair of defective amalgam restoration. The purpose of this study was to evaluate of shear bond strength of esthetic restorative materials to dental amalgam. The materials used in this study were Photo Clearfil Bright(light curing composite resin), Clearfil F II(chemical curing composite resin), Fuji II LC(light curing glass-ionomer cement), Fuji II (chemical curing glass-ionomer cement), All-Bond 2(intermediary), and Scotchbond Multi-Purpose (intermediary). A total of 120 acrylic cylinders with amalgam were divided into 8 groups After amalgam condensation, all specimens were stored for 48 hours in water at $37^{\circ}C$ and tested with Instron universal testing machine between amalgam and composite resins and glass-ionomer cements. The data were analyzes statiscally by ANOVA and Duncan test. The following results obtained ; 1. The shear bond strength of bonded composite resin to amalgam was higher than bonded glass-ionomer cement(P<.001). 2. The group 4 had highest shear bond strength with 15.45kgf/$cm^2$ and the group 5 had lowest shear bond strenght with 3.26kgf/$cm^2$(P<.001). 3. In the group 3, 4, 5, 6, the group 3, 4 with All-Bond 2 had higher shear bond strength than the group 5, 6 with Scotch bond MP both in light-curing and in chemical curing. 4. Both in composite resin and glass-ionomer cement, chemical curing materials had higher shear bond stength than light curing materials(P<.001).
In this paper, 18 square CFT columns filled with high-strength concrete were tested under concentric or eccentric axial loading. Two parameters of the experimental program included the buckling length-section depth ratio ($L_K$/D) and the eccentricity of the appled compressive load (e). In additon, mechanical properties such as the compressive concrete strength and compressive and tensile steel strength were measured and incorporated into the material models for the stress-strain relationships of concrete and steel. This model was used in an elasto-plastic analysis in order to predict the behavior of the slender CFT columns. Observtions of the failure mode during the tests under axial loadig were also presented. The strengths obtained from the analysis. Recommendations for Design, and Constructions of CFT structures were presented, as verified by the experimental results.

Prior to start the business of Cadastral Non-Coincidence, there is a difficulty in the boundary setting due to the border dispute between the business owners, because of inconvenient land using and problems and the exercise of the ownership about their shared land. Expected that the cooperation of the residents admission can be used as countermeasures, which lead to conclude in the agreement by converging various opinions, such as about preceding business promotion, property rights and stable boundary, into one submission. Consequently, the national stength can be competitive by the efficient land management; the land portion of utilized area would be increasing as well as the boundary would be more convenient and accurate. In this study, the Cadastral Resurvey is planned to be analyzed the complaints based on complaint resolution cases and problems associated with the Cadastral Non-Coincidence. Following to the result, we want to use it to analyze the actual situation of Cadastral Non-Coincidence in Gyeongnam, so as generated by the Cadastral Resurvey business in the future for efficiency in the business.
