조향대차의 곡선선로 주행시 조향성능 검토 (Verifying of steering performance of the steering bogie)

  • When the train is running on the small curved line, there would be severe contact between the rail and wheels, which cause noise and vibration as well as abnormal wear on the rail and the wheels. In order to solve these problems, the steering bogie has been developed. To verify steering performance of the steering bogie, steering angles of two trains, one is the advanced EMU with the steering bogie, another is a conventional EMU with the conventional bogie, were measured while running on the small curve. this comparing test shows that the steering bogie has much higher steering performance than the conventional bogie on the same curved line. To verify more performance data of the steering bogie, further testing and monitoring will be done with the advanced EMU in the test track.

  • This paper presents recent development of (semi)-active steering bogies for railway vehicles and introduce the state-of-art of related technologies. Steering bogies have been studied in various researchers since they can offer high ride quality for passengers and reduce the maintenance costs of wheel and rail wear. Especially, they are considered to be a fundamental solution to dramatically reduce the squeal noise on tight curves. However, passive steering bogies such as self-steering bogies and forced steering bogies have shown their limits to cope with the various running conditions. Therefore, (Semi)-active steering bogies have been studied to overcome the drawbacks of the passive steering bogies. As a result, an active steering bogie, so called mechatronic bogie, is developed successfully in Europe and it has shown remarkable performance in test line.

  • The performance of the railway bogie is classified into the stability and the steering performance. Testing for the bogie stability is conducted on the roller rig. But testing for the bogie steering performance on test facility is very difficult, so the testing for the vehicle curving performance is conducted on the real curve track. And it is desirable to test on the full scale test rig, but it caused many problems relating to test costs, test time. To overcome these problems, the small scale test rig is actively used in the field of bogie stability. Thus, in this paper, we have studied the scale track to test the bogie steering performance. For this, we designed the 1/5 scale test track equivalent to radius 200 curve and confirmed the validity of the testing for the bogie steering performance on the scale curve track through the testing using 1/5 scale bogie.

Analysis on Steering Capability of a New Bogie with Independently Rotating Wheels

  • A new scheme about a coupled bogie with Independently Rotating Wheels was put forward firstly. And then it is fund by theoretic analysis that the bogie takes on prominent radial capability on curved track and splendiferous restoring capability on tangent track. Lastly, a dynamic calculating model of the coupled bogie with independently rotating wheels has been established and a dynamic simulation analysis on steering capability of the bogie was made and the simulation results can inosculate foregoing theoretic analysis, which illuminates that the coupled bogie can solve drastically the difficulty about steering problem of independently rotating wheel.

고무차륜형 AGT 주행장치의 진동피로해석 (Vibration Fatigue for the Bogie frame of the Rubber Wheel AGT)

  • The rubber wheel-type AGT has two major kinds of bogie; one is the bogie type and the other steering one. Both are important vehicular structure to support the whole running vehicle and passenger loads. This paper deals with the static analysis for the two types of bogie frame subjected to combined external forces, as well as independent ones specified in UIC 515-4. Furthermore, the dynamic analysis is performed under vibrational loading conditions so as to compare dynamic characteristics, Numerical results by using commercial packages, I-DEAS and NASTRAN show that maximum stresses do not exceed the yield strength level of material used for both bogies. From an overall viewpoint of strength, the bogie type turns out to be superior to the steering type except for the case of a lateral loading. It is also observed that the steering type shows a characteristics of low frequency behavior during a course of searching for structurally weak areas to be stiffened. The vibrational fatigue analysis for each bogie frame depends on the loading time history conditions which is applied. Time History Central Database List in the NASTRAN package. Subsequent1y, the fatigue life of bogie type is longer than the steering type.

능동형 시제 조향대차의 임계속도 평가 (Evaluation of Critical Speed for Active Steering Bogie Prototype)

  • Critical speed analysis was conducted for a active steering bogie prototype, developed to improve the curving performance of railway vehicles. The critical speed for the design concept was about 169.2k m/h. To validate the analysis result, we performed a critical speed test for the prototype bogie using a roller-rig tester. The test results showed that the critical speed for the prototype bogie was about 165 km/h. From the analysis and test results, The critical speed for the prototype bogie was determined to be 165 km/h. Considering the maximum operating speed of the test vehicle is 100 km/h, the prototype bogie is considered stable.

  • 철도차량의 곡선주행성능은 유지보수관점에서 매우 중요하다. 곡선주행성능과 관련된 대차의 조향성능은 실차를 이용한 실선로 주행시험이 적전하나 차량 개발단계에서는 이를 검증하기가 용이하지 않다. 따라서 차량의 조향 특성을 효율적으로 시험하기 위한 축소 곡선트랙에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 대차의 곡선 주행을 모사하기 위한 곡률반경 $200{\sim}250m$의 급곡선과 등가인 1/5 scale 규모의 축소 곡선트랙을 설계, 제작하였다. 1/5 scale 대차를 이용한 주행시험 시험결과 곡선 주행특성이 비교적 잘 반영되고 있음을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, the dynamics of automated guideway transit vehicles with rubber tires are studied. Two different AGT models are considered: the bogie system and the steering system . It is found that the bogie system is stable at all possible operating speeds, whereas it is not true fur the steering system. To investigate the dynamic stability of steering systems, the critical speeds are investigated and the dynamics of the closed-loop steering control system are numerically simulated.

  • 철도차량의 주행안정성과 곡선추종성능을 동시에 획기적으로 개선하기 위한 능동조향대차의 가능성은 이론적으로는 계속적으로 검증되어 왔지만 능동제어를 위한 정보획득 문제, 부수적인 기계요소, 높은 에너지 소비, 고장에 대비한 안전기능 등과 같이 해결해야할 기술적 난제 때문에 많은 노력에도 불구하고 아직까지 상용화되지 못하고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자, 본 논문에서는 보다 진보된 능동조향 메커니즘을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문의 메커니즘을 이용하면 적은 제어력만 필요하기 때문에 기어와 같은 동력 전달장치가 필요 없고, 그 결과 추가되는 기계요소의 개수를 최소화 할 수 있으며 안전장치 또한 쉽게 구축이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 능동조향대차의 개념에 관하여 소개하고 선형동적모델을 이용한 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 가능성을 검증하고자 한다.
