  • The Rehabilitation and repair of structurally deteriorated reinforced concrete structure become more necessary as time goes by. The goal of this study is that provide the data about flexural retrofitted effect of RC beam strengthened by Steel Plate. In order to provide the data, 6 specimens were manufactured and divided with standard specimen and damaged degree A, B, C. Division of damaged A, B, C is based on deflection and degree of crack. In the determination of deflection and degree of crack, we loaded standard specimen to failure under two-point bending to find yielding load and failure load, and then we found deflections and degree of crack that correspond to 75%, 100%, 105% of the yielding load of standard specimen respectively. When we are compared with standard specimen and strengthened specimens, we founded from the experimental results that flexural capacity of structurally damaged beam strengthened by Steel Plate incremented highly, ductility was decreased, and energy absorbtion capacity was almost same.

Ultimate strength behavior of steel-concrete-steel sandwich beams with ultra-lightweight cement composite, Part 2: Finite element analysis

  • Ultra-lightweight cement composite (ULCC) with a compressive strength of 60 MPa and density of $1,450kg/m^3$ has been developed and used in the steel-concrete-steel (SCS) sandwich structures. This paper investigates the structural performances of SCS sandwich composite beams with ULCC as filled material. Overlapped headed shear studs were used to provide shear and tensile bond between the face plate and the lightweight core. Three-dimensional nonlinear finite element (FE) model was developed for the ultimate strength analysis of such SCS sandwich composite beams. The accuracy of the FE analysis was established by comparing the predicted results with the quasi-static tests on the SCS sandwich beams. The FE model was also applied to the nonlinear analysis on curved SCS sandwich beam and shells and the SCS sandwich beams with J-hook connectors and different concrete core including ULCC, lightweight concrete (LWC) and normal weight concrete (NWC). Validations were also carried out to check the accuracy of the FE analysis on the SCS sandwich beams with J-hook connectors and curved SCS sandwich structure. Finally, recommended FE analysis procedures were given.

  • In this paper, structural analysis of High-Speed railway vertical tunnel structures was performed to verify the structural stability. The corrugated steel plate method was applied to the vertical tunnel structures for its simple construction method and low cost. The structural stability of Wall, Connection and Storage section was performed with LRFD and ASD design method at joint part, buckling, stress and plastic hinge. From the results, all of vertical tunnel structures shown the structural stability regardless of design method and structure types. So, the application of corrugated steel plate in vertical tunnel structures instead of cast-in-placed concrete was quite enough.

  • An experimental investigation of composite beams composed of wide flange steel and precast concrete is presented. The bottom flange of the steel section is encased in precast concrete. The composite beams tested in this study were designed to reduce the depth of the slab and beam. The slabs are constructed on top of the edges of the Structural Composite Hybrid System, instead of on top of the steel flange, decreasing the depth of the beams. When concrete is cast on the metal deck plate located on the edges of the precast concrete, the weight of the concrete slabs and other construction loads must be supported by the contacts between the steel and the precast concrete. This interface must not exhibit bearing failures, shear failures, and failures caused by torque due to the loading of the precast concrete. When the contact area between the concrete and the bottom flange of the steel beam is small, these failures of the concrete are likely and must be prevented. The premature failure of precast concrete must not also be present when the weight of the concrete slabs and other construction loads is loaded. This paper presents a load carrying capacity of Structural Composite Hybrid System in order to observe the failure mode. The symmetrically distributed loading that caused the failure of the composite beam was found. The paper also provides design recommendations of such type of composite structure.

  • 본 연구에서는 철근콘크리트 벽과 강판 콘크리트 벽이 서로 수직면의 이질접합 형태로 만나는 벽의 면외 휨 거동 특성을 검토하기 위하여, L형 실험체를 제작하고 휨 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 시, 실험체의 동적특성을 확인하기 위하여 Push 및 Pull 하중을 반복하는 싸이클 하중을 구현하고자 하였다. Push 하중에 의한 실험 결과, 실험체의 공칭강도를 초과하는 휨 성능을 발휘하였으며, 이에 따라 설계에 적용된 수직철근의 미겹침 이음길이의 타당성을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편, Pull 하중 가력 시에는 수직철근이 최대 내력을 발휘하기 전에 접합부 콘크리트에서 전단 파괴 거동이 나타나, 이에 대한 보강이 필요함을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문은 RC(Reinforced Concrete), SC(Steel-Plate Concrete) 격납구조에 대한 대형 민항기 충돌에 관한 응답해석을 Hydrocode인 Autodyn-3D를 통해 수행하였다. 이전에 연구된 대부분의 항공기 충돌 해석에서의 충격 하중은 국부적인 부분(동체면적의 약 2배)에 대해 Riera의 충격하중함수를 적용하는 방법을 이용하여왔다. 하지만, 본 논문에서는 실제 Boeing 767과 유사한 모델을 구현하여 대상 구조체에 직접 충돌 시켜 나타나는 현상을 비교 분석 하였으며, 항공기 모델은 강성벽(Rigid Target)에 대해 항공기를 충돌 시켰을 시 발생되는 충돌하중이력곡선과, Riera 함수를 이용한 충돌하중이력곡선과의 비교를 통하여 검증하였다. 항공기 충돌 시, SC 격납구조에 대한 충돌저항능력 및 응답, 안전성 효과를 평가 하기 위해 무근 콘크리트(Plain Concrete:PC), 철근 콘크리트(Reinforced Concrete:RC), 철근 콘크리트와 완전 부착된 내부 Liner Plate(CLP:Containment Liner Plate), 그리고 SC 격납구조에 대한 해석을 수행하였다. 따라서 항공기 충돌과 같은 비정상충격하중이 RC구조와 SC구조에 가해질 경우에 대한 거동 예측이 가능하며, 보수적인 안전성이 요구되는 RC 원전 격납건물에 SC구조를 적용하면 상대적인 안전성 증대 효과를 기대 할 수 있을 것으로 보여진다.

Composite deck construction for the rehabilitation of motorway bridges

  • Traffic decks of steel or composite motorway bridges sometimes provide the opportunity of using the composite action between an existing steel deck and a reinforced concrete plate (RC plate) in the process of rehabilitation, i.e., to increase the load-carrying capacity of the deck for concentrated traffic loads. The steel decks may be orthotropic decks or also unstiffened steel plates, which during the rehabilitation are connected with the RC plate by shear studs, such developing an improved local load distribution by the joint behaviour of the two plate elements. Investigations carried out, both experimentally and numerically, were performed in order to quantitatively assess the combined static behaviour and to qualitatively verify the usability of the structure for dynamic loading. The paper reports on the testing, the numerical simulation as well as the comparison of the results. Conclusions drawn for practical design indicated that the static behaviour of these structures may be very efficient and can also be analysed numerically. Further, the results gave evidence of a highly robust behaviour under fatigue equivalent cyclic traffic loading.

강·콘크리트 경계면의 비선형성에 따른 합성구조체 거동 (II) -강·콘크리트 경계면의 거동 특성- (Behavior of Composite Structure by Nonlinearity of Steel-concrete Interface(II) -Behavior of Steel-Concrete Interface-)

  • 본 논문에서는 강 콘크리트 경계면에 대한 비선형 해석 모델을 바탕으로 합성 구조체에 대한 비선형 구조해석을 실시하여 강 콘크리트 경계면을 모사한 인터페이스 요소에 발생하는 접선응력선 상대슬립 분포 등 합성 구조체의 경계면 거동 특성을 해석적으로 규명하였다. 연구결과 본 논문의 해석 모델인 합성 바닥판에서는 T형강-콘크리트 경계면 보다는 하부강판-콘크리트 경계면에서 접선응력의 증가가 빠르게 나타났으며, 하부강판-콘크리트 경계면에서도 인장부보다는 중립부 경계면에서 접선응력의 증가가 빠르게 진행되었다. 횡방향으로는 하중재하 위치에서 외부 측면으로 갈수록 접선응력이 완화되는 현상을 나타내었으며 종방향으로는 중앙부에서 최소, 지지점에서 $0.6{\sim}0.7L$ 지점에서 최대를 나타냈으며 이후 지지점으로 갈수록 감소하는 경향을 나타내었고, 하층이 증가하면서 경계면의 파괴가 최고 접선응력지점에서 전체영역으로 점차 확대되는 경향을 나타내었다. 이상의 연구결과는 합성 구조체의 경계면의 거동 특성과 하중전달 메카니즘을 이해하고 합리적인 전단연결재 설계를 위한 바탕을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

원전 격납건물 라이너플레이트 배면 콘크리트 채움 여부 점검 기술 개발 (Development of Inspection Technique for Filling or Unfilling of Containment Liner Plate Backside Concrete in Nuclear Power Plant)

  • The Nuclear containment building is a main safety-related structure that performs shielding and conservation functions to prevent highly radioactive materials from leakage to the outside environment in the case of various environmental conditions and postulated accidents. The containment building contains a reactor, steam generator, pressurizer, tank, reactor coolant system, auxiliary system and engineering safety system, and is designed so that highly radioactive materials above the limits specified in 10 CFR 100 do not escape to the outside environment in the case of LOCA(Loss of Coolant Accident) for instance. The containment metal liner plate(CLP) is a carbon steel plate with a nominal plate thickness of 6 mm, which functions as a mold for the wall and dome of the containment building when concrete is filled, fulfills airtightness to prevent leakage of seriously radioactive materials. In recent years, backside corrosion was found on the liner plate in some domestic nuclear power plants. The main cause of backside corrosion was unfilled concrete. In this paper, an inspection technique of assessing filling suitability for CLP backside concrete is developed. Results show that the validity of inspection technique for CLP backside concrete using vibration sensor is successfully verified.

  • 지금까지 수행된 개구부가 존재하는 벽체에 대한 연구는 대부분 RC 벽체에 대해서 수행되었으며, SC(Steel plate Concrete) 벽체에 설치되는 개구부에 대한 연구는 수행된 예가 적다. 최근에 국내에서 개발된 SC 벽체는 원전구조물에 일부 적용되고 있지만, 관련 설계기준인 KEPIC-SNG에서도 개구부를 갖는 SC 벽체에 대한 설계법은 명확하게 정의되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 원전구조물내 벽체에 설치되는 SC 벽체를 대상으로 개구 저감률이 구조내력에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 개구 저감률을 고려한 구조내력 평가 결과는 실험 및 수치해석 결과와 비교분석하였다.
