쌍로울형 박판연속주조공정의 개발과 자동화에 관한 연구 (The Study on Automation and Development of Strip Continuous Casting by Twin Roller Type)

  • In this study, the characteristics of cooling and rolling during strip casting process is obtained in comparison with the experimental and analytical results. The prupose of this study is to effectively analyze the thermal and mechanical deformation of roller applying the results of the heat transfer and the pressure distribution to boundary conditions. And then the relation between strip thickness and roll deformation is shown. The second purpose is to obtain the proper condition of the continuous casting for stainless steel. The summary and conclusions can be made on the basis of the results obtained by the theories and experiments. a) The strip casting condition for the fine surface quality of tin-alloy as-cast material was obtained in accordance with the velocity of roll rotation and initial roll gap. b) The experimental condition that the dimension of the cast strip thickness coincide with that of the initial roll gap was according to the experimental result of continuous casting by twin-roll type. c) The thermoelastic finite element model to calculate the roll deformation is represented. Thermoelastic model prediction for the roll deformation are in good agreement with the experimental results considering the thermal expansion of the roll. d) The higher cooling rates were obtained by a twin-roller quenching technique. Also quenched microstructure of the rapidly solidified shell was verified. e) The magnitude of roll deformation due to the thermal expansion and roll separating force is quantit- atively represented in the analysis of continuous casting for stainless steel.

  • 복합재료와 금속 튜브 사이의 좁고 긴 원통형 공간을 EPDM(Ethylene propylene dien ter polymer)으로 충전하는 연구를 수행하였다. 휴대용 유도무기의 추진기관을 개발하기 위하여 소형 연소관 조립체를 설계하고 제작하였다. 연소관 조립체는 연소관 금속튜브, 연소관 내열재, 그리고 연소관 단열재로 이루어져 있는데 연소관 내열재는 탄소/페놀릭을 사용하여 롤링 공법으로 제작하였으며 연소관 단열재는 EPDM을 사용하여 TPM 공법으로 제작하였다. EPDM의 조성 선정을 위하여 내열 삭마특성, 열분해특성 실험을 수행하였으며 흐름성, 접착성, 경도측정 등을 통하여 최종 조성을 결정하였다. 연소관 조립체를 제작하기 위한 EPDM 충전을 위하여 TPM 공법을 설계하고 금형과 치구를 제작하였다. 충전된 연소관 조립체는 비파괴검사를 통하여 접착, 기공 등을 검사하여 최종 선정되었다.

Fe-Si-Mn-P강판의 초기조직변화가 잔류오스테나이트 형성 및 인장성질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Initial Structure on the Retained Austenite and Tensile Properties of Fe-Si-Mn-P Steel Sheet)

  • This study has been conducted to investigate the effects of initial structure on the microstructure and tensile properties of high strength trip steel sheet. The initial structure before austempering remarkably influenced the second phase. The specimen with normalized initial structure showed mainly bainitic ferrite and retained austenite, while the as rolled specimen and spherodized specimen showed martensite plus retained austenite and martensite plus bainitic ferrite with small retained austenite, respectively. Two type of retained austenite, film type and granual type were observed in all specimens. The as rolled specimen appeared the highest contents of retained austenite owing to the compressive stress by cold rolling. The contents of retained austenite increased with increasing intercritical annealing temperature and austempering time. Tensile strength showed the highest in the as rolled specimen, while the highest elongation were obtained in the normalized specimen. The maximum T.S.${\times}$El. Value showed in normalized initial structure and increased with increasing intercritical annealing and austempering time. The highest Value of T.S.${\times}$El. obtained at austempering temperature of $400^{\circ}C$ and retained austenite of 12%.

고탄소크롬 베어링강 2종(SUJ2) 베어링강에 증착된 저마찰 코팅의 트라이볼로지적 특성 연구 (A Study on the Tribological Characteristics of Low Friction Coating Deposited on SUJ2 Bearing Steel)

  • In order to reduce resistance torque and energy loss, minimizing friction between race surface and rolling elements of a bearing is necessary. Recently, to reduce friction in bearing element, solid lubricant coating for the bearing raceway surface has been receiving much attention. Considering the operating conditions of real bearings, verifying the effect of solid lubricant coatings under extreme conditions of high load that is more than 1 GPa is necessary. In this study, we evaluated the friction and wear characteristics of SUJ2 bearing steels deposited by carbon-based coatings (Si-DLC, ta-C), $MoS_2$ and graphite. In case of $MoS_2$ and graphite coatings, different surface treatments were applied to the coatings to verify the effect of surface treatment. A pin-on-disc type tribotester was used to evaluate the tribological characteristics of the coatings. It was possible to quantitatively estimate the friction and wear characteristics of solid lubricant under dry and lubrication conditions. The carbon-based coatings improved the friction and wear properties of SUJ2 bearing steels under the high load condition, but $MoS_2$ and graphite coatings were not suitable for high load conditions due to its low hardness. Different friction and wear behaviors were found for different substrate surface treatment method. Also, it was confirmed that solid lubricant coatings had a more positive effect than just applying the lubricant for improving the tribological characteristics.

  • In this study, we developed a semi-analytical approach for the numerical analysis of residual stress in oxide scales formed on hot-rolled steels. The oxide scale, formed during the hot rolling process, experiences complex interactions due to thermal and mechanical influences, significantly affecting the material's integrity and performance. Our research focuses on integrating various stress components such as thermal stress, growth stress, and creep behavior to predict the residual stress within the oxide layer. The semi-analytical method combines analytical expressions for each stress component with numerical integration to account for their cumulative effects. Validation through instrumented indentation tests confirms the reliability of our model, which considers thermal expansion coefficient (CTE) differences, scale growth, and creep-induced stress relaxation. Our findings indicate that thermal stress resulting from CTE differences significantly impacts the overall residual stress, with growth stress contributing a compressive component during cooling, and creep behavior playing a minor role in stress relaxation. This comprehensive approach enhances the accuracy of residual stress prediction, facilitating the optimization of material design and processing conditions for hot-rolled steel products.

지하철 연도변의 소음 조사 (A Field Survey of Noise Associated with Subway Train Passage)

  • 서울지하철 제1, 2, 3, 4호선의 운행에 따른 소음 및 진동 발생은 인접 주거지역 주민들에게 공해 문제를 야기시켜 각종의 피해를 유발하고 있는 실정이다 그러나 현재 그 피해의 범위를 객관적으로 밝힐 수 있는 자료나지침이 없기 때문에 적절한 대책을 강구할 수가 없다. 따라서 본 조사를 통해 밝혀진 소음자료를 토대로 서울지하철 제1기 지상간의 지하철 차륜 통 과시 방출되는 소음레벨의 거리 별 분포 및 방출특성 그리고 각 노선별 비교 등과, 또 지하철 소음의 평가기준 및 평가방법과 현재 실용 가능한 방지대책을 제시하여 지하철 소음문제의 -반적인 처리지침으로 활용코져 한다. 본 조사 결과 제1호선 및 3호선은 소음레벨이 60dB(A) 미만으로 문제가 없고 소음공해 문제노선은 2호선 및 4호선의 일부 지상노출 구간으로 밝혀졌다. 이들 지역의 피선범위는 2호선의 경우 노선중심에서 50m 이내이고, 4호선의 경우 25m 이내로 이들 지점에서 각각 70dB(A)의 소음도를 기록하고 있다. 그리고 주민의 피해 호소율과 소음도 및 분포거리의 관계는 다음과 같이 밝혀졌다. 즉 80dB(A) 이상에서 강력한 집단민원이 발생하였고, 70-80dB(A)에서 간헐적인 피해호소를 하고 있었으며, 이들 값의 분포범위는 전자의 경우 고가구간에서 25m이내 철교구간에서 12.5m이내 그리고 철교 양구간에서 약 l00m이내이고, 후자의 경우 고가, 옹벽(U-Type) 및 철교구간에서 각각 50m이내이고, 철교량의 경우만 280m이내를 보이고 있다. 상기의 조사결과로부터 서울지하철의 일반적인 소음현황을 파악할 수 있어 지하철소음의 문제점을 개선하는데 필요한 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

열간 마무리압연 설정의 정도향상을 위한 동적 설정법 (A Dynamic Set-up Technique for High Accuracy set-up of Continuous Hot Strip Finishing Mill)

  • A dynamic mill set-up technique was developed to achieva a more precise roll gap set-up of the finishing mill stands for steel strip rolling. In the conventional mill set-up model the set-up values such as roll gap and roll speed are determined before the sheet bar reached the entry side of the finishing mill train and maintained constant until the strip top end passes through the last stand. In the way however a dynamic set-up logic that gives a way to adjust the roll gap value of the final mill stand for the strip ingoing from the ahead of the front stand was developed and attached to the existing set-up model. The roll gap modification is based on the analysis of the observation in the third stand of the finishing mill train. The dynamic set-up model was proved very effective for the more precise mill set-up and for operational stability in the hot strip finishing mill train.

  • 대부분 화력 발전소는 기저부하(base load)운전용으로 설계되어 있어 극심한 부하 변동이 계속되는 부하에 대하여는 일반적으로 적합하지 못하다. 특히 전기로와 압연기가 설치된 제철소에 전력을 공급하는 발전소의 경우 연속적인 심한 부하변동으로 일반적으로 발전소 제어 시스템으로는 적당치 않다. 이 논문에서는 이와 같이 연속적으로 급변하는 부하에 대응할 수 있는 화력 발전소 예상 제어 앨고리즘을 제시 하였다. 상헤한 제어 앨고리즘과 모델 계통에 대한 사례 연구를 첨부하였다.

  • 산업자동화를 위한 영상처리기술을 활용하여 금속 표면 검사 공정의 육안 검사를 대체하기 위한 장치개발이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 압연 공정의 금속 판재 표면의 결함을 탐지하기 위하여 이동평균 영상처리기법을 적용한 정밀측정시스템을 제안하였다. 금속 판재의 압연 처리 과정에서 발생하는 표면 패턴이 결함으로 판정될 수 있다. 이러한 경우에 대하여 제안한 시스템을 적용하여 금속 판재 표면의 실제 결함의 수를 측정할 수 있었고 FFT방법에 의한 측정치에 비하여 양호한 결과를 얻었다.

금속판재의 성형한계 및 디프드로잉 성형성의 실험적 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Experimental Evaluation of the Forming Limit and Deep-Drawability of Sheet Metals)

  • The mechanical properties including forming limit and deep-drawability of commercially-used sheet metals were experimentally estimated in this study. Uniaxial tensile test to obtain basic mechanical properties was carried out, followed by limiting dome height (LDH) test and forming limit diagram (FLD) test to quantitatively evaluate the sheet-formability. Deep drawing and reverse drawing tests were also performed to find out the critical values of the blank holding force and the gap between the die and the blank holder which enabled the deep drawing and reverse drawing of a successful cop without any wrinkle or fracture. The thickness of the cup wall along the rolling-, transeverse- and $45^{\circ}$-directions was measured and compared with one another. And the punch force-stroke curve and the critical punch force expected from the theory coincided with the experimental result very well for mild steel while not for aluminium alloy.
