Real-time hybrid simulation of smart base-isolated raised floor systems for high-tech industry

  • Adopting sloped rolling-type isolation devices underneath a raised floor system has been proved as one of the most effective approaches to mitigate seismic responses of the protected equipment installed above. However, pounding against surrounding walls or other obstructions may occur if such a base-isolated raised floor system is subjected to long-period excitation, leading to adverse effects or even more severe damage. In this study, real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) is adopted to assess the control performance of a smart base-isolated raised floor system as it is an efficient and cost-effective experimental method. It is composed of multiple sloped rolling-type isolation devices, a rigid steel platen, four magnetorheological (MR) dampers, and protected high-tech equipment. One of the MR dampers is physically tested in the laboratory while the remainders are numerically simulated. In order to consider the effect of input excitation characteristics on the isolation performance, the smart base-isolated raised floor system is assumed to be located at the roof of a building and the ground level. Four control algorithms are designed for the MR dampers including passive-on, switching, modified switching, and fuzzy logic control. Six artificial spectrum-compatible input excitations and three slope angles of the isolation devices are considered in the RTHS. Experimental results demonstrate that the incorporation of semi-active control into a base-isolated raised floor system is effective and feasible in practice for high-tech industry.

  • We have developed the prototypes of superconducting magnetic separation system with high temperature superconductor wire. This separation filter system consist of magnetized matrix SUS430 wire and acrylic frame. This study introduced rolled steel process coolant wastewater applied superconductor HGMS(High Gradient Magnetic Separation). HGMS treatment have acted high efficient method for various wastewater. We have surveyed superconducting magnetic separation technology and reviewed the status of related industries using applied superconductivity. In our basic preliminary experiment using HGMS, it was made clear that the fine para-magnetic particles in the wastewater obtained from rolling process of steel can be separated with high efficiency. We investigated the ability of magnetic flock formation, which used inorganic materials and polymer coagulants. We had a purpose to remove SS of coolant at steel factory. Maximum coagulation remove rate of SS 98%. Removing ratio of $Fe_3O_4$ fine particles in wastewater showed over than 99% in the wastewater containing magnetic fines after four times of repetition of separation.

700 MPa급 고강도 및 내진 철근의 미세조직과 인장 특성 (Microstructure and Tensile Properties of 700 MPa-Grade High-Strength and Seismic Resistant Reinforced Steel Bars)

  • This study deals with the microstructure and tensile properties of 700 MPa-grade high-strength and seismic reinforced steel bars. The high-strength reinforced steel bars (600 D13, 600 D16 and 700 D13 specimens) are fabricated by a TempCore process, while the seismic reinforced steel bar (600S D16 specimen) is fabricated by air cooling after hot rolling. For specimens fabricated by the TempCore process, the 600 D13 and 600 D16 specimens have a microstructure of tempered martensite in the surface region and ferrite-pearlite in the center region, while the 700 D13 specimen has a microstructure of tempered martensite in the surface region and bainite in the center region. Therefore, their hardness is the highest in the surface region and shows a tendency to decrease from the surface region to the center region because tempered martensite has a higher hardness than ferrite-pearlite or bainite. However, the hardness of the 600S D16 specimen, which is composed of fully ferrite-pearlite, increases from the surface region to the center region because the pearlite volume fraction increases from the surface region to the center region. On the other hand, the tensile test results indicate that only the 700 D13 specimen with a higher carbon content exhibits continuous yielding behavior due to the formation of bainite in the center region. The 600S D16 specimen has the highest tensile-to-yield ratio because the presence of ferrite-pearlite and precipitates caused by vanadium addition largely enhances work hardening.

근사함수를 이용한 스틸휠의 디스크 홀의 최적화 (Optimal Design of the Steel Wheel's Disc Hole Using Approximation Function)

  • 승용차의 휠은 타이어와 차체 무게를 지지하며, 회전력과 정지력을 노면으로 전달한다. 휠의 경량화는 차량의 연료효율에 효과적이므로, 스틸휠이 무게를 최소화하도록 디스크 홀이 형상을 최적화 하였다. 설계모델은 Pro/ENGINEER를 사용하여 설정하고, 설계모델의 해석은 ANSYS를 이용하였다. 범용 소프트웨어간의 직접적인 자료의 전달이 어려우므로 두 프로그램을 병합 사용하기 위해, 반응표면법을 이용한 근사함수를 구하였다. 5수준의 요인배치법의 실험값을 사용하여 최대응력과 최대 변위를 추출하였다. 초기 모델은 14인치 승용차용 스틸휠을 사용하였고, 디스크 홀의 폭을 설계변수로 선택하였다. 순차이차계획법과 활성화제약조건을 사용하는 PLBA(Pahenichny-Lim-Belegundu-Arora) 알고르즘을 이용하여 최적해를 구하였다.

주행하는 고온 강재의 상하부 동시 냉각 과정 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Simultaneous Cooling Process of Upper and Lower Side of Running Hot Steel Strip)

  • 열간 압연을 거친 $800^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온 철강 판재는 일반적으로 다중 봉상 수분류(multiple circular water jets)에 의해서 급속 냉각된다. 이 과정은 소재의 온도가 냉각수의 끓는점보다 훨씬 높기 때문에 소재 표면과 냉각수 사이에 막비등 열전달 현상이 발생하며 소재 표면에 매우 얇은 증기층이 형성되며, 이 증기층은 소재와 냉각수의 열교환을 방해하는 중요한 열저항으로 작용한다. 본 문제에는 비등 열전달 이외에도 소재 표면에 쌓이는 체류수의 자유표면 유동, 소재의 고속 주행 등 복잡한 물리현상들이 복합적으로 작용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이 모든 물리현상들을 동시에 고려할 수 있는 해석 절차를 적용하여 일정한 속도로 주행하는 고온 철강 판재의 상하부 동시 냉각 과정을 3 차원 수치해석 하였으며, 소재 상부 및 하부 면의 냉각 특성을 비교하였다.

페라이트-베이나이트 복합조직 고강도 열연강판의 신장플랜지 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stretch-flangeability of Hot-Rolled High Strength Steel with Ferrite-Bainite Duplex Microstructure)

  • 자동차 휠, 멤버 등의 소재로 사용되는 인장강도 580MPa급 열연강판의 버링성형성을 향상시키기 위하여 강판의 신장 플랜지성(stretch-flangeability)에 대한 미세조직 및 열간압연후 냉각인자의 영향에 대하여 검토하였다. 열간압연후 3단 냉각제어 및 권취온도의 극저온화에 의하여 신장플랜지성이 우수한 페라이트-베이나이트 복합조직강의 제조가 가능하며, 3단 제어냉각에서 강판의 온도를 $Ar_3$ 직하의 페라이트변태역에서 일정 시간 유지하면 페라이트 변태 및 NbC의 석출이 조장됨을 확인하였다. 페라이트-베이나이트 복합조직 열연강판의 우수한 신장플랜지성은 3단 냉각 및 극저온 권취에 의한 등축 페라이트 분율의 증가, 입계 세멘타이트의 미세화 및 구성 상간의 경도차 저하에 의하여 타발공정에서의 미소균열 생성 및 전파가 억제되기 때문인 것으로 판단되었다. 아울러 0.08wt%C-1.5wt%Mn-0.04wt%Nb 성분계를 이용하여 제조된 인장강도 580MPa급 페라이트-베이나이트 복합조직 열연강판은 연신율 22% 이상, 구멍확장율 (신장플랜지성) 90% 이상의 재질특성을 가지며, 버링비 60% 이상의 자동차 휠 디스크에 적용 가능한 것으로 판명되었다.

템퍼링에 따른 Cu 첨가 고강도강의 미세조직과 기계적 특성 (Effects of Tempering Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cu-Bearing High-Strength Steels)

  • The present study deals with the effects of tempering treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Cu-bearing high-strength steels. Three kinds of steel specimens with different levels of Cu content were fabricated by controlled rolling and accelerated cooling, ; some of these steel specimen were tempered at temperatures ranging from $350^{\circ}C$ to $650^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. Hardness, tensile, and Charpy impact tests were conducted in order to investigate the relationship of microstructure and mechanical properties. The hardness of the Cu-added specimens is much higher than that of Cu-free specimen, presumably due to the enhanced solid solution hardening and precipitation hardening, result from the formation of very-fine Cu precipitates. Tensile test results indicated that the yield strength increased and then slightly decreased, while the tensile strength gradually decreased with increasing tempering temperature. On the other hand, the energy absorbed at room and lower temperatures remarkably increased after tempering at $350^{\circ}C$; and after this, the energy absorbed then did not change much. Suitable tempering treatment remarkably improved both the strength and the impact toughness. In the 1.5 Cu steel specimen tempered at $550^{\circ}C$, the yield strength reached 1.2 GPa and the absorbed energy at $-20^{\circ}C$ showed a level above 200 J, which was the best combination of high strength and good toughness.

확장형 알루미늄 압출형재 적용에 관한 연구 (Study on Application of Large-Scale Aluminium Extruded Material)

  • 철도차량의 차체 구조는 초기의 전(全) 목제에서 강제 후레임과 목제 차체의 조합, 리벳으로 결합한 전(全)강제차체, 전(全) 용접결합의 모노코크(monocoque)차체로 변천해 왔다. 구체의 재료 또한 Mild Steel이 많이 사용되어 왔으나, 가볍고 내식성이 우수한 경량 스테인레스 구체와 알루미늄 구체의 적용 비율이 급격히 높아지고 있다. 구조적으로는 종래의 골조와 외판으로 구성된 싱글 스킨 구조인 SSD (Sheet_Stringer Design)에서, 알루미늄 구체와 같이 대형 중공압출형재로 구성된 전(全)더블스킨 구조인 AED(All Extrusion Design)가 실용화되고 있다. 종래의 알루미늄 차체는 소형 압출재로 제작되어 용접에 의한 열영향을 받는 범위가 매우 크고 매우 취약한 특성 때문에 나타나는 용접결합 부분의 강성 저하가 많은 문제점을 일으켰다. 본 연구에서는 확장형 알루미늄 압출형재를 사용하여 부재 수를 감소시킴으로서 용접 공수를 줄이고 결합부의 용접 집중을 최소화 하여 품질 및 차체 강성을 향상 시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

Fe-Mn-C계 TWIP강의 재질특성에 미치는 소둔온도와 첨가원소의 영향 (Effect of Annealing Temperature and Alloying Elements on the Mechanical Properties of Fe-Mn-C TWIP Steels)

  • Twinning-induced plasticity (TWIP) steels have attracted great attention due to their excellent mechanical properties of high tensile strength (over 800MPa) and high ductility (over 50%), which result from the high strain hardening due to the mechanical twin formation during plastic deformation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of annealing temperature and alloying elements on the mechanical properties of Fe-18Mn-0.6C TWIP steel. In 1.5%Al TWIP steel with 0.123%Ti content, the average recrystallized grain size was reduced to 2.5 ${\mu}m$ by cold rolling and annealing at $800^{\circ}C$ for 5 min, because of the pinning effect of the fine TiC carbides on grain coarsening. The tensile strength was decreased and the ductility was improved with the increase of the annealing temperature. However, a reversion of hardness and yield strength happened between $750^{\circ}C$ and $800^{\circ}C$ due to TiC and $M_3C$ type precipitation. 0.56% Ni added TWIP steel exhibited relatively lower yield strength, because Ni precipitates were not formed during the annealing process. When this specimen was annealed at $800^{\circ}C$ for 5min, the tensile strength and elongation were revealed at 1096MPa and 61.8%, respectively.

304 및 430 스테인레스 강판의 산화 및 중성염 전해산세 거동 (Oxidation and Neutral Electrolytic Pickling Behavior of 304 and 430 Stainless Steels)

  • Oxidation behavior of 304 and 430 stainless steel were studied using thin film X-ray analysis and glow discharge spectrum analysis (here-after GDS). The oxidation layer of 304 stainless steel was composed of $Cr_2O_3\;and\;FeCrO_4$ and its thickness was about $1.5{\mu}m$ after $1\~5$ minutes of annealing at $1120^{\circ}C$ open air. However, the oxidation layer of 430 stainless steels was mainly composed of $Cr_2O_3$ and its typical thickness was 0.5um after $1\~5$ minutes of annealing at $1000^{\circ}C$ open air. Electro-chemical analysis revealed that the descaling of oxidation layer could be activated by Fe, Cr dissolution from the matrix behind the oxidation layer at the current density of $5\~10ASD$ and by Fe, Cr-oxide dissolution from the oxidation layer at the current density over than 10ASD. Electrolytic stripping of 430 and 304 revealed the intial incubation period of descaling by oxygen evolving at low current density range such as $5\~10ASD$. However the dissolution of oxide layer was occurred when applying the anodic current of $10\~20ASD$ on 430 and 304 stainless steels. It was suggested that the electrolytic pickling of high Cr bearing stainless steel such as 430 and 304 seemed to be the more effective in the high current density range such as $10\~20ASD$ than the low current density range such as $5\~10ASD$.
