증기발생기 2차측 제철화학세정액의 고온적용 (High Temperature Application of Iron Removal Chemical Cleaning Solvent in the Secondary Side of Nuclear Steam Generators)

  • 원전 증기발생기 2차측 제철 화학세정을 기존의 93$^{\circ}C$ 표준공정보다 고온인 1$25^{\circ}C$에서 검증시험을 수행하였다. 원전 증기발생기를 1$25^{\circ}C$에서 화학 세정한다는 가정아래 현장세정 조건을 결정하고 이를 다시 모사하여 3l 용량의 소형 검증시험 조건을 결정하였다. 1 gallon 용량의 316 스텐레스강 압력용기를 반응용기로 사용하는 화학세정 시험장치에서 검증시험을 수행하여 스러지 용해거동, 모재 부식률, 세정제 화학조성 변화거동 등을 측정하였다. 1$25^{\circ}C$ 검증시험 결과에서 93$^{\circ}C$ 표준공정보다 세정시간을 절반이하로 단축시키고도 더 효율적인 세정효과를 얻을 수 있을 뿐만이 아니라 2차측 모재의 부식률도 감소함을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 고온 세정공정은 아직 현장적용 경험이 없고, 별도의 외부순환 세정 장치를 이용하는 93$^{\circ}C$ 표준공정과는 달리 주냉각재의 잠열로 2차측을 가열하므로 세정이 완료될 때까지 주냉각 펌프를 계속 가동하여야 하는 단점이 있다. 가동중인 증기발생기에 대한 화학세정을 수행할 때 93$^{\circ}C$ 표준공정과 고온공정의 장 단점을 신중히 검토하여 최적공정을 적용하여야 할 것이다.

  • Steam Generator (SG) tube, as a barrier isolating the primary coolant system from the secondary side of nuclear power plants (NPP), must maintain the structural integrity for the public safety and their efficient power generation. So, SG tubes are subject to the periodic examination and the repairs if needed so that any defective tubes are not in service. Recently, corrosion related degradations were detected in the tubes of the domestic OPR-1000 NPP, as a form of axially oriented outer diameter stress corrosion cracking (ODSCC). According to the studies on the factors causing the heat fouling as well as developing corrosion cracking, densely scaled deposits on the secondary side of the SG tubes are mainly known to be problematic causing the adverse impacts against the soundness of the SG tubes [1]. Therefore, the processes of various cleaning methods efficiently to dissolve and remove the deposits have been applied as well as it is imperative to maintain the structural integrity of the tubes after exposing to the cleaning agent. So qualification test (QT) should be carried out to assess the perfection of the chemical cleaning and QT is to apply the processes and to do ECT. In this paper, the chemical cleaning processes to dissolve and remove the scaled deposits are introduced and results of ECT on the artificial crack specimens to determine the effectiveness of those processes are represented.

DETECTION OF ODSCC IN SG TUBES DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE CRACK AND ON THE PRESENCE OF SLUDGE DEPOSITS

  • It was discovered in a Korean PWR that an extensive number of very short and shallow cracks in the SG tubes were undetectable by eddy current in-service-inspection because of the masking effect of sludge deposits. Axial stress corrosion cracks at the outside diameter of the steam generator tubes near the line contacts with the tube support plates are the major concern among the six identical Korean nuclear power plants having CE-type steam generators with Alloy 600 high temperature mill annealed tubes, HU3&4 and HB3~6. The tubes in HB3&4 have a less susceptible microstructure so that the onset of ODSCC was substantially delayed compared to HU3&4 whose tubes are most susceptible to ODSCC among the six units. The numbers of cracks detected by the eddy current inspection jumped drastically after the steam generators of HB4 were chemically cleaned. The purpose of the chemical cleaning was to mitigate stress corrosion cracking by removing the heavy sludge deposit, since a corrosive environment is formed in the occluded region under the sludge deposit. SGCC also enhances the detection capability of the eddy current inspection at the same time. Measurement of the size of each crack using the motorized rotating pancake coil probe indicated that the cracks in HB4 were shorter and substantially shallower than the cracks in HU3&4. It is believed that the cracks were shorter and shallower because the microstructure of the tubes in HB4 is less susceptible to ODSCC. It was readily understood from the size distribution of the cracks and the quantitative information available on the probability of detection that most cracks in HB4 had been undetected until the steam generators were chemically cleaned.

연소로 효율증진을 위한 on-line 세정 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study of On-line Cleaning Method for Increasing Efficiency in a Combustor)

  • 액상 중유 연료를 사용하는 고용량 증기 보일러에서 발생되어 연소기기 내부에 침적되는 슈트, 슬래그, 크랭커, 회분, 산화물의 on-line 세정을 위한 세정제 제조에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 액상 중유 연료를 사용하는 보일러 및 가열로에 생성되는 슈트, 슬래그, 크랭커, 회분, 산화물을 제거하는 기존 기술은 보일러 및 가열로의 가동 중단 후 작업자들에 의한 기계적인 처리를 통하여 침적물을 제거하는 기술을 사용하고 있다. 기존 기술을 대치할 수 있고 보일러의 중단이 없는 상태에서 침적물을 세정할 수 있는 세정제의 최적 조성을 도출하였다. 질산암모늄과 질산마그네슘의 혼합물이 주 세정제로 도출되었으며, 각종 전이금속 화합물에 의한 영향을 영향을 연구하여, 세정에 의한 부식을 방지할 수 있으며, 연소효율의 증대를 얻을 수 있는 전이금속화합불 첨가제를 도출하였다.

Microscopical and chemical surface characterization of CAD/CAM zircona abutments after different cleaning procedures. A qualitative analysis

  • PURPOSE. To describe and characterize the surface topography and cleanliness of CAD/CAM manufactured zirconia abutments after steaming and ultrasonic cleaning. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A total of 12 ceramic CAD/CAM implant abutments of various manufacturers were produced and randomly divided into two groups of six samples each (control and test group). Four two-piece hybrid abutments and two one-piece abutments made of zirconium-dioxide were assessed per each group. In the control group, cleaning by steam was performed. The test group underwent an ultrasonic cleaning procedure with acetone, ethyl alcohol and antibacterial solution. Groups were subjected to scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) to verify and characterize contaminant chemical characterization non- quantitatively. RESULTS. All zirconia CAD/CAM abutments in the present study displayed production-induced wear particles, debris as well as organic and inorganic contaminants. The abutments of the test group showed reduction of surface contamination after undergoing an ultrasonic cleaning procedure. However, an absolute removal of pollutants could not be achieved. CONCLUSION. The presence of debris on the transmucosal surface of CAD/CAM zirconia abutments of various manufacturers was confirmed. Within the limits of the study design, the results suggest that a defined ultrasonic cleaning process can be advantageously employed to reduce such debris, thus, supposedly enhancing soft tissue healing. Although the adverse long-term influence of abutment contamination on the biological stability of peri-implant tissues has been evidenced, a standardized and validated polishing and cleaning protocol still has to be implemented.

  • 본 연구에서는 70000 mg/L 가량의 고농도 철(III)-에틸렌디아민테트라아세트산(Fe(III)-EDTA)을 함유하고 있는 원전 증기발생기 화학 세정 폐액의 처리를 위해 펜톤 반응을 사용하였다. Fe(III)-EDTA 분해실험은 모사 폐액 뿐 아니라 실제 폐액을 가지고도 수행되었다. 폐액에 주입된 과산화수소의 양과 폐액의 pH가 Fe(III)-EDTA 분해에 미치는 영향이 정량적으로 평가되었고, 다양한 측면에서 고찰되었다. 분해효율이 최대가 되는 최적의 pH는 폐액에 주입된 과산화수소의 양에 의존하였다. 즉, 폐액에 주입된 과산화수소의 양이 다를 때 최대 분해효율이 얻어지는 pH가 달랐다. Fe(III)-EDTA의 분해를 위한 적정 조건은 폐액의 초기 pH가 9이고 과산화수소 주입량이 24.7 mol ($H_{2}O_{2}$)/mol (Fe(III)-EDTA)일 때였다.

  • As far as we handle industrial products, the painting process is prerequisite; and the preparatory treatment of materials is, therefore, indispensable to the above process. However, it is a matter for regret that people are liable to overlook the importance the treatment of materials at the preparatory stage, giving themselves up to the surface of finished goods. The preparatory treatment of materials is like backstage personnel (operations) in dramatic performance; the performance cannot be successful without the support of backstage operations in surface treatment. The various methods which are being applied widely as preparatory treatment are as follow: (1) the method by using hand tools such as grinders, etc. (2) the method with blasting (3) the method with chemical coating (4) the method by getting rid of fatty substance with organic solvent The methods No. 1 and No. 2 are in use mainly for larger structures, and those No. 3 and No. 4, either singly or combined, are applied for mass-produced, smaller items (acid cleaning is applied for getting rid of rust, as the case may be). The method No. 3 is used mainly as anti-rust by forming zinc phosphate film on the surface of steel plate or enhancing the bonding power of paints by taking advantage of irregular surfaces of films. Recently are no the market steel plates treated directly with film-coating by omitting the process No. 3. Furthermore, those goods painted include not only nonferrous goods but plastics and elastomer. The present discourse describes the cleaning process by using the steam of organic acid, picked up from among No. 4, and its equipment applied.

케비테이션 제트 유동을 이용한 발전 시스템 (A Power-Generation System using Cavitation jet flow)

  • Cavitation phenomenon has long been a difficult problem that regarded as negative event to fluid machines or industrial facilities. In the latest, however, some engineers became to understand the power of cavitation and use it to cleaning wall after developing cavitation nozzle. In this paper, we introduce new concept for power-generation system using cavitation jet flow maid by nozzle and impulse turbine in vacuum condition. The vacuum needed to make cavitation is generated naturally by Torricelli's vacuum, 10.23m effective head drop without additional power. We analyzed water's boiling and the steam's mean free path according to vacuum purity levels for nozzles and turbine blades. The nozzles make water accelerate in the neck and boil in expansion section of the nozzles. The shape of the impulse turbine is designed for absorption of the molecule's kinetic energy of the steam.
