3차원 소형축류홴의 공력특성에 대한 난류모델평가 (Evaluation of the Turbulence Models on the Aerodynamic Performance of Three-Dimensional Small-Size Axial Fan)

  • The steady-state, incompressible and three-dimensional numerical analysis was carried out to evaluate turbulent models on the aerodynamic performance of a small-size axial fan(SSAF). The prediction performance on the static pressure of all turbulent models is going downhill at the high static pressure and low flowrate region, but has improved at the axial flow region. In consequence, all turbulent models predict the static pressure coefficient with an error performance less than about 4% after the region of the flowrate coefficient of about 0.14. Especially, the turbulent model of SST $k-{\omega}$ shows the best prediction performance equivalent to an error performance less than about 2% on the static pressure.

블라인드 채널 등화를 위한 교번 적응 알고리즘 (Alternate Adaptation Algorithm for Blind Channel Equalization)

  • CMA(constant modulus algorithm)의 수렴 특성과 정상상태 성능을 개선하기 위한 교번 적응 알고리즘(alternate adaptation algorithm: AAA)을 제안한다. 교번 적응 알고리즘은 블라인드 수렴 특성이 우수한 알고리즘과 정상상태 오차 성능이 좋은 알고리즘을 이용하여 등화기를 번갈아 적응시키는 새로운 등화 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 가변 수렴상수를 적용한 vsCMA(variable step-size CMA)와 판정의거(decision-directed: DD) 알고리즘을 이용한 교번 적응 등화를 소개한다. 제안 방식에서는 먼저, CMA의 정상상태 오차 성능 개선을 위해 수렴상수를 가변 하는 vsCMA를 고안하였으며, 이를 DD와 교번 적응에 의해 결합함으로써 CMA의 수렴 속도와 정상상태 성능을 개선하고, CMA-DD 전환 방식에서 전환 타이밍에 따른 성능 변동의 민감성을 완화하였다. 제안 방법의 유용성을 확인하기 위해 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 다중경로 채널에서 16-QAM에 대해 평가하였다.

스텝 크기에 의한 FC-MMA 적응 등화 알고리즘의 성능 평가 (A Performance Evaluation of FC-MMA Adaptive Equalization Algorithm by Step Size)

  • 본 논문은 16-QAM 신호 전송시 시분산 채널에서 발생되는 부호간 간섭을 경감시키기 위하여 사용되는 FC-MMA 적응 등화 알고리즘에서 고정 스텝 크기에 따른 등화 성능을 평가하였다. FC-MMA는 기존 MMA의 통신 채널의 시변 특성 및 순단과 같은 비정상적인 상황에서 신속하게 새로운 환경에 적응토록 빠른 수렴 속도를 갖는 것이 특성이지만, 수렴 속도는 고정 스텝 크기에 의하여 결정된다. 논문에서는 고정 스텝 크기값에 따른 등화 성능을 평가하였으며, 관련된 성능 지수로는 수렴 특성을 나타내는 잔류 isi와 최대 찌그러짐, MSE 및 잡음 강인성을 나타내는 SER과 군지연 보상 능력등이 사용되었다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과 적응 스텝 크기가 클수록 정상 상태에 도달하는 수렴 속도는 개선되지만, 정상 상태 이후의 잔여량에서는 스텝 크기가 적을수록 우월해짐을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과 FC-MMA 알고리즘은 초기에는 스텝 크기를 크게 설정하고, 정상 상태에 도달하면 이를 적게 조정하여 등화 잔여량을 최소화시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • Recently, the application of the linear machine for industrial field is remarkable increased, especially for the gantry machine and machine tool system. In these application, high precise position control performance is essentially required in steady/transient state. This paper presents the generalized PID position control algorithm which have rare sensitivity to mass and disturbance. Through the experimental results, it is shown that the proposed algorithm have good performance for the linear machine drives in the steady state and transient state in spite of the load mass varing.

마이크로컴퓨터를 이용한 최적축 위치제어

  • This paper proposes an optimal control scheme for shaft position control using microcomputer-based state-variable feedback. In this scheme a performance index was set up in order to ruduce the overshoot and improve the steady- state response speed, and the time-variant system parameters were identified in real time for optimal control. As a result of experiment, the over-shoot was not occured and the response speed was improved 2. 9 times about proportional control. This scheme improves the performance against the variation of load and sampling time, and adding the integral control in this scheme can reduce the steady-state error without any change in response time.

Some Results on Availability of Repairable Component and Repairable Coherent System

  • Availability is an important measure of performance of a repairable component. In this paper, the explicit expression for the availability of a repairable component, which is subject to the policy II(Age Replacement Policy) of Barlow and Hunter (1960), is obtained and the existence of the steady state availability is shown. The steady state availabilities of the model are also obtained for the cases when the mean of the minimal repair time is increasing at a geometric rate or linearly increasing, In order to show the importance and the utility of the obtained result, we also consider an illustrative example of the repairable coherent system whose components are repairable, and the obtained results are applied to derive the steady state availability of the whole system. In this situation, we can see that the condition of the existence of the steady state availability for each component is essential. Some remarks on the optimal replacement policy that maximizes the steady state availability are also given.

  • SPLSSM may operate with very high efficiencies and near unity power factor, SPLSSM has been shown to be capable of desirable steady state performance, but is known to have undesirable staring performance because starting asynchronously by means of an induction cage, it operates in steady state performance of a PM motor. This combination provides the steady state performance of a permanent magnet motor without the need for an expensive drive system. However, that combination makes it difficult to analyze the transient behaviors. This paper investigates the behaviors of Single-Phase Line-Start Synchronous Motor using finite element method combined analytic method. It is shown that finite element modeling is capable of giving accurate prediction of performances. Varying the value of capacitance and material of permanent magnet shows the effect on the dynamic characteristics in this paper.

Evaluation of Mixing Performance in Several Designs for Microfluidic Channel Mixers

  • We conducted a numerical study of AC-electroosmotic (alternating current) effect on the fluid flow and mixing in a 3-D microchannel. The microchannel used as an efficient micro-mixer is composed of a channel and a series of pairs of electrodes attached in zigzag pattern on the bottom wall. The AC electric field is applied to the electrodes so that a steady flow current takes place around the electrodes. This current is flowing across the channel and thus contributing to the mixing of the fluid within the channel. We performed numerical simulations by using a commercial code to obtain a steady flow field. This steady flow is then used in evaluation of the mixing performance via the concept of mixing index. It was found that good combination of two kinds of electrode, which gave us a good mixing, is not simple harmonic. And when the length ratio of these two kinds of electrode is 2:1, we can get the best mixing effect.

  • The dynamic characteristics of a continuous MMA/MA free-radical solution copolymerization reactor were studied. A mathematical model was developed and kinetic parameters which had been estimated in the previous work were used. With this model, bifurcation diagrams were constructed with various parameters as the bifurcation parameter to predict the region of stable operating conditions and to enhance the controller performance. It was shown that the steady-state multiplicity existed over wide ranges of residence time and jacket inlet temperature. Periodic solution branches were found to emanated from Hopf bifurcation points. Under certain conditions isola was also observed, which would result in poor performance of feedback controllers.

  • Many researchers have developed the measurement technique of in-cylinder flow characteristics and found the effect of intake port geometries on engine performance. The flow characteristics of four-valve cylinder head were examined in a steady flow rig for different intake ports. Tumble intensity of intake configurations with different entry angles were quantified with a tumble meter. The velocity and angular momentum distributions in the tumble adaptor were measured under steady conditions with PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry). We have obtained the results that flow structure becomes complicated by valve interference at low valve lift. As the valve interferences were reducing and the flow pattern changed to large vortex structure with tumble direction, intake ports with different entry angles have different tumble centers. Tumble eccentricity of intake port with low entry angle was large, so that the port had relatively much angular momentum compared to others which was expected to improve combustion performance.
