일부 제조업 근로자의 스트레스와 정신건강에 관한 연구 (Work Stress and Mental Health of the Industrial Workers)

  • Information on work stress and mental health status of industrial workers was required for optimum staffing and health care management. This study dealt with the relationship between mental health status examined by PSI(psychiatric symptom index) and socio-demographic variables. Especially this study attempted to find relevant determinants of the stress and mental health through multiple stepwise regression analysis based on data obtained from 687 occupational workers. The findings of this study were as follows; Mean scores of symptom dimension were higher in youth, female, more educated, unmarried and divorced, and workers in the noisy condition and short duration in job. And it showed high scores in long duration in job for anxiety; college educated for anger; unmarried for cognitive disturbance. The factors affecting the mean scores of psychiatric symptom index were varied according to the types of symptom: age, sex and duration in job for anxiety; age, sex, living with parent, education and marital status for anger; sex and marital status for depression; noisy condition and sex for cognitive disorder.

일부지역 산업체 근로자들의 구강건강관리 행태에 관한 조사 (A Study of Oral Health Care Pattern of the Industrial Workers in Ulsan Metropolitan City)

  • In this study, oral health promotion behaviors of employees, daily frequency of tooth brushing, tooth brushing method, brushing time, whether or not to use oral hygiene accessories, and regular dental check-up to investigate oral health status of workers to the workplace and was to provide basic data for the development of oral health program to promote oral health. This study was performed from 2011 May 2 to May 20, 249 industrial workers in Ulsan metropolitan city surveyed and collected data using PASW 18.0 ver, descriptive statistics, Pearson's chi-square test was performed. In the result, the importance of oral health recognition was lacked, in order to maintain and promote the oral health status of industrial workers, regular dental check-up on oral health counseling and oral health education were conducted together and raising awareness of workers' oral health was necessary to improve level of oral health status.

시멘트 사업장 생산직 남자 근로자의 건강증진행위 (Health Promotion Behavior of the Labor Workers at the Cement Manufacturing Company)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the health promotion behavior(HPB) of the labor workers at the cement manufacturing company based on the Health Promotion Model by Pender(1996). Data were collected by self-reported questionnaire from 180 blue workers at the 2 cement factories under the permission of data collection and cooperation with managers in the factories. For data analysis, Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, Multiple regression with SPSS/PC + 10.0 version were used. The results were as follows: 1. The average scores for the HPB, consisted of 6 subdimensions was 2.74. The highest mean score was 2.88 in 'Exercise' and the lowest on was 2.58 'Responsibility of health'. 2. The score of the HPB was statistically different according to educational level(p<.00l), perceived health status(p<.00l) and satisfaction of working environment(p<.05). 3. HPB was positively related to age(p<.05), perceived health status(p<.00l), job satisfaction(p<.05), and satisfaction of working environment(p<.05), while it showed negative correlation with educational level(p<.01). 4. According to the results of multiple regression analysis, factors affecting HPB were perceived health status and education level explained 20.3% of variance. From this research findings, we need to different approach in develop health promotion program of Cement manufacturing company workers and focusing on improvement to job satisfaction and satisfaction of working environment.

중소기업 남성근로자의 건강행태와 구강건강상태의 관련성 (The Relationship between Health Behaviors and Oral Health Status of Male Workers in small and medium industry)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of oral health behaviors and oral health status, and to analysis the association between health behavior and chronic disease and oral health status of male workers. Methods: The survey used structured self administered questionnaires from September to October in 2009 in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do province, randomize thirty workplace which work more than 50 workers and carry out a survey targeting 30 to 50 age male laborers who work selected workplace. Total of 1,532 replies were analysed. Results: Age, education, monthly income, job was significantly associated with number of toothbrushing, scaling experience, number of missing teeth. Smoking, amount of smoking, frequency of drinking, number of tooth brushing, unmet need and subjective oral health condition, HBP and DM was significantly associated with the number of missing teeth. In logistic regression, age(above 40), monthly income and DM were significant factors on loss of teeth. Conclusion: In conclusion, it is important to provide education on the teeth-brushing and DM management to workers engaged in a small or medium sized workplace with many tooth loss and low educational status, and to recommend a regular scaling as well as to establish policy for creating conditions upon an oral health check-up and a tooth scaling and allow the maintenance of an oral health.

Well-being Index Scores and Subjective Health Status of Korean Healthcare Workers

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the subjective level of health-related quality of life of Korean healthcare workers using various quality-of-life instruments. Methods: This study included 992 participants, who were doctors and nurses. A survey was conducted between November 28 and December 4, 2019. Data from 954 participants divided into 3 groups (physicians, residents, and nurses) were analyzed. Four measurement tools (29 questions) were used in the survey to evaluate subjective health status and well-being. Results: In the Mayo Well-being Index, burnout during work (88.5%) and emotional difficulties caused by work (84.0%) were frequently cited by the respondents. Regarding questions on burnout and emotional difficulties, residents and nurses had the highest scores (91.0 and 89.6%, respectively). Emotional problems, such as anxiety, depression, and irritability, accounted for a high percentage (73.1%) of the total, while 82.2% of respondents reported that their work schedules interfered with their leisure and family time. There was no significant difference among the groups in subjective health status. However, 10.1% of the residents experienced very low quality of life, which was a higher proportion than that of physicians (2.7%) and nurses (5.2%). Conclusions: The level of well-being that Korean medical workers experienced in relation to work was lower than the results of the United States healthcare workers surveyed using the same tool. This study was unique in that it conducted a subjective quality-of-life survey on Korean healthcare workers.

소규모 사업장 근로자의 건강관리를 위한 진단적 연구 - PRECEDE 모형을 중심으로 - (A Diagnostic Study for Health Management on Workers in Small Scale Enterprises from the Perspective of the PRECEDE Model)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to make a systemic assessment on the level of self-efficacy, social support, and accessibility to medical services, health status, health promoting behaviors, and the quality of life of workers in small scale enterprises. RECEDE model developed by Green and Kreuter for the purpose of a comprehensive assessment research was used. Method: The number of subjects was 199 workers in small scale enterprises at Youngdeungpo-gu and Sungdonggu, Seoul. Data were collected between October and December, 200 through a self-reported questionnaire. And data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, and F-test. Result: 1. The level of quality of life was 3.08, and general health status was 2.75. There was no significant difference by sex, age, marital status, job, and perceived health status. 2. The level of health promotion life style was 2.09. There was no significant difference by sex, age, marital status, and job. But there was significant difference by perceived health status. 3. The level of self-efficacy, social support and accessibility to medical services were 3.04, 2.85, and 1.45. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to develop the systematic health promotion programs that can strengthen self-efficacy and health status, and supplement social support and accessibility to medical services, and to encourage health promoting behavior in order to improve quality of life for workers in small scale enterprise.

산업체 근로자의 식생활 습관과 영양 및 건강상태에 관한 연구 - 마산지역을 중심으로- (A Study on the Food Behaviors and Nutritional Status of Industrial Workers)

  • This study inrestigated the dietary behavior, nutritional intake, and health status of industrial workers. Two hundred seventy workers(165 men and 105 women) in Masan, who were provided food services were selected as survey subjects. They were given questionnaires on nutrition knowledge, food frequency questionnaires, and blood analysis were conducted through an annual health examination from May to August 1998. The average age of the subjects was $35.7\pm{11.8}$ years, and 80% the of women were in their teens and 20's and 80% of men were in their 30's and 40's. The nutrition knowledge score was higher in women than in men, while food habit score was higher in men than in women. As age increase, the degree of life stress became lower and food habit score was higher in men than in women. As age increases, the degree of life stress became lower and food habit was improved. In women, all nutrient intakes were avove the recommended dietary allowances(RDA), and in men intakes of only vitamin E and calcium were under RDA. Levels of serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, and blood glucose, blood pressure, body mass index were positively related to age. The number of subjects suspected of having chronic disease was the highest for those in their 40's. The results indicate that nutritional status of industrial workers in the present study was fairly good probably due to food services, but their health status should be supervised as their age increases.

1인가구의 종사상지위 및 연령에 따른 건강행태 비교: 음주 및 흡연을 중심으로 (Comparison of health behaviors by status of workers and age of single households: focusing on drinking and smoking)

  • 1인가구주의 종사상지위와 연령에 따라 음주, 흡연 등의 건강행태에 차이가 있는지를 비교하고자 종사상지위 및 연령별로 층화추출하여 조사를 실시하였다(총 566명). 분석결과에 따르면, 음주빈도에서는 연령별 유의적 차이가 발견되었으며(p<0.001), 흡연여부(p<0.001) 및 흡연량(p<0.001)에서도 연령별 유의적 차이가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 금연 계획에서는 정규직이 다른 집단에 비하여 유의적으로 높게 나타났고(p<0.05), 금연이유에 대해서는 담뱃값 부담 때문이라는 응답이 20대에서 유의적으로 높았다(p<0.001). 전체적으로 볼 때, 음주 및 흡연 등의 건강행태에서는 종사상지위와 같은 사회경제적 특성보다는 연령 등과 같은 개인적 특성이 더 유의적인 영향을 준다고 할 수 있다.

일개 산업장 남성 근로자의 근무형태별 건강상태와 건강행위 및 건강증진 프로그램 요구도 (Health Status, Health Behavior, and Health Promotion Program Needs of Industrial Male Workers according to Shift Work at an Workplace)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify the health status, healthy behavior, and health promotion program needs of day time and shift time industrial male workers at an workplace. Method: Relevant data were collected from June 20 to August 18, 2005. Questionaries were distributed to all subjects along with their medical records of 2005 and 151 sets of responses were used for the analysis. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 10.0. Result: 1. Health Status - day time and shift-time workers had significant differences in obesity ($x^2=8.38$, p<.01) and blood pressure ($x^2=-2.17$, p<.05). 2. Healthy Habits - Full-time and part-time workers had significant differences in regular meals (63.83, p<.01), preferred foods ($x^2=7.10$, p<.05), and sleep time (t=-3.55, p<.01). They also had significant differences in exercising ($x^2=13.11$, p<.01), exercising time (minutes) (t=-2.25, p<.01), and use of fitness centers ($x^2=7.02$, p<.05). 3. They also had significant differences in their needs of health programs ($x^2=8.66$, p<.01). Conclusion: This study revealed that day time and shift-time workers had differences in obesity and blood pressure, as well as differences in eating sleeping, and exercising patterns. Both groups needed 'fitness programs' more than any other types of health programs and picked 'weight loss' and 'stress control' programs for other options. Industrial nurses should be able to create appropriate health programs for each group based on the above results and induce the workers' active participation.

근로자의 산업보건관리에 대한 지식, 태도, 실천 조사연구 -경인지역을 중심으로- (A Study of Industrial Workers' Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice of Occupational Health Management and Services -Kyung In Area-)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine industrial workers ; Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of occupational health management and service. The data was collected from Dec 4. 1993 to Jan 21, 1993. The data was collected from 352 industrial workers from 37 companies located in Kyng Ki Province and In cheon city. The measurement tool used in this study was a structured questionnaire developed by the community Nursing academy. The major findings attained from this study are summarized as follows : 1. The level of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of industrial workers of occupational health management and service, were as follows : The total mean score was 72 out of 100. The total mean score of Knowledge was 22.5, out of 30. The mean score of Attitude was 39.2, out of 55. The mean score of Practice was 10. 6, out of 15. 2. The level of Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice of industrial workers of health management and service according to workers' general characteristics. The significant perceptions of health management as a whole that impact on the Knowledge score were occupational factors such as, age, income, number of workers, educational status, sex, and marital status. The significant factor of Practice which impact on the score was age, number of workers, sex, and marital status.
