DEM에 의해 추출된 지형인자의 공간상관성을 기반으로 한 수문학적 응답구조의 해석 (The Analysis of Hydrological Response Structure Based on Spatial Correlation of Extracted Geomorphic Variables by Using DEM)

  • 유역에서의 수문지형학적 특성들은 유출현상과 깊은 상관성을 가지고 있다. 지리정보체계의 발달은 양자간의 역학관계를 규명하는데 커다란 도움을 주었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 지형인자 중 수문응답과 밀접한 관계로 알려진 국부경사와 지표면거리에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 그러나 이상의 지형인자는 각 pixel별 변동성이 매우 크기 때문에 DEM으로부터 추출된 자료를 직접 사용하는 것은 한계를 가지게 된다. 따라서 공간상관성을 고려한 분포도의 통계적 특성을 이용해 수문응답함수 특성과 분포된 지형학적인자간의 관계를 살펴보았다. 분석결과 국부경사는 첨두유량에, 지표면거리는 첨두유량, 평균 및 분산에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 이러한 수문지형학적 분석 기법은 DEM자료로부터 수문응답을 직접 유추할 수 있는 유용한 기법으로 발전될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

무한사면해석기법과 GIS를 이용한 사면 재해 위험성 분석 및 검증 (Analysis and Verification of Slope Disaster Hazard Using Infinite Slope Model and GIS)

  • 사면재해는 강우기에 반복적으로 발생하는 지질재해의 하나로 우리나라의 경우 연평균 약 23명 정토의 인명피해가 사면재해로 인해 발생하고 있으며, 이는 자연재해로 인한 인명피해 중 약 25% 정도를 차지하는 수치이다. 그러나, 이러한 사면재해는 다양하고 복합한 지질 및 지형 특성과 갉은 공간적인 특성과 집중호우와 같은 기후특성에 의해 좌우되므로 사면재해 예측이나 위험성에 대한 정량적인 산정을 무척 어려운 실정이다. 따라서, GIS를 이용한 위험성분석이나 확률을 이용한 다양한 기법이 활용되고 있다. 특히, GIS를 이용한 기법은 광역적인 지역에 대하여 방대한 양의 자료를 효율적으로 처리 및 분석을 수행함으로서 사면재해 관련 연구에 폭 넓게 활용되고 있다 본 연구에서 사용된 무한사면해석기법은 사면재해의 발생여부와 관련요인간의 연관성에 대한 단순한 통계적인 분석에 의한 기존 기법의 한계점을 보완하고 사면재해발생과 관련된 역학적인 검토를 수행하기 위하여 제안되었다. 본 연구 결과에 의하면 사면재해가 발생했던 지점과의 비교를 농하여 지반이 완전히 포화된 경우, 즉 m=1인 경우 무한사면모델에서 불안정하다고 해석된 지역에서 전체 사면재해의 87.5%가 발생하였음을 보여주고 있어 사면재해에 대한 해석기법으로서의 착용가능성을 보여주고 있다.

  • 장항만 연안에 서식하는 굴과 대천지방에 서식하는 굴의 연체부의 동함량에 관하여 1970년 10월 부터 1971년 2월까지 4개월에 걸쳐 채집 분석했다. 이 양군간에 굴 연체부의 동함량에는 현저한 유의차가 인정되였다. 장항만 연안에 서식하는 굴은 장항제연소에서 흘러나오는 폐수와 광재에서 용출하는 동에 의하여 주로 오염되었다고 볼 수 있다. 장항만 연안에 서식하는 굴은 동함량이 $434.4{\pm}141.9mg$ Cu/kg wet base였으며, 대천지방에 서식하는 비오염된 굴은 평균 $19.0{\pm}4.9mg/kg$ wet base의 수치를 나타냈다. 끝으로, 본 실험을 도와준 최병선군과 전의식군에게 사의를 표하는 바이다.

Color Formation Mechanism of Ceramic Pigments Synthesized in the TiO2-SnO-ZnO Compounds

  • This study deals with the color formation of ceramic pigment in the $TiO_2$-SnO-ZnO system. We designed compounds to control the color formation depending on the composition using the Design of Experiment. The color coordinate values of synthesized pigments, $L^*a^*b^*$ were measured and statistically analyzed color for changing elements depending on its composition. The relationship between the major crystalline phases and chromaticity was examined using XRD, and the oxidation states of each element were analyzed by XPS. The synthesized pigments based on the compound design exhibited various color changes ranging from yellow-orange to green-blue and brown. The statistical analysis on the spectrophotometer results shows that $a^*$ and $b^*$ values decreased with $TiO_2$ content, and increased with SnO content. Yellow-orange color was detected with the main peak of SnO, and the green-blue color developed with the main peak of $Zn_2TiO_4$. The $a^*$ and $b^*$ values increased with increased SnO peak intensity, and decreased with increased $Zn_2TiO_4$ peak intensity. The results revealed that pigment color formation was influenced by changes in the main crystalline phases and crystalline intensity. However, XPS analysis of the oxidation states of each element showed little correlation with the pigment chromaticity result.

A REVIEW OF CANDU FEEDER WALL THINNING

  • Flow Accelerated Corrosion is an active degradation mechanism of CANDU feeder. The tight bend downstream to Gray loc weld connection, close to reactor face, suffers significant wall thinning by FAC. Extensive in-service inspection of feeder wall thinning is very difficult because of the intense radiation field, complex geometry, and space restrictions. Development of a knowledge-based inspection program is important in order to guarantee that adequate wall thickness is maintained throughout the whole life of feeder. Research results and plant experiences are reviewed, and the plant inspection databases from Wolsong Units One to Four are analyzed in order to support developing such a knowledge-based inspection program. The initial thickness before wall thinning is highly non-uniform because of bending during manufacturing stage, and the thinning rate is non-uniform because of the mass transfer coefficient distributed non-uniformly depending on local hydraulics. It is obvious that the knowledge-based feeder inspection program should focus on both fastest thinning locations and thinnest locations. The feeder wall thinning rate is found to be correlated proportionately with QV of each channel. A statistical model is proposed to assess the remaining life of each feeder using the QV correlation and the measured thicknesses. W-1 feeder suffered significant thinning so that the shortest remaining life barely exceeded one year at the end of operation before replacement. W-2 feeder showed far slower thinning than W-1 feeder despite the faster coolant flow. It is believed that slower thinning in W-2 is because of higher chromium content in the carbon steel feeder material. The average Cr content of W-2 feeder is 0.051%, while that value is 0.02% for W-1 feeder. It is to be noted that FAC is reduced substantially even though the Cr content of W-2 feeder is still very low.

공기행렬의 질감특성치들에 대한 평가와 적정 적용해상도에 관한 연구 (A Study of Evaluation of the Feature from Cooccurrence Matrix and Appropriate Applicable Resolution)

  • 고해상도 위성영상의 출현으로 인해 인간이 사용하는 다양한 판독기재를 영상판독에 적용할 가능성이 넓어졌고, 컴퓨터비전, 패턴인식, 인공지능, 원격탐사 등 많은 분야에서 이런 가능성들을 연구해왔다. 이중 질감은 '영상의 밝기와 색조간의 공간적 분포와 관계'된 양으로 영상판독에 중요한 역할을 한다. 특히 통계적 모델을 기초로 질감정보을 얻는 방법이 많이 연구되어 왔고, 이러한 기법 중 공기행렬을 이용하여 질감을 측정한 연구는 다른 기법에 비해 계산이 간편하며 위성영상과 항공사진에 적용되어 높은 분류정확도를 나타내어 좋은 질감측정치로 평가되었다 하지만 기존의 논문들에서 특성치의 선택에 관한 연구 없이 임의적으로 특성치가 선택되었고, 또한 공기행렬이 질감을 잘 표현할 수 있는 적정해상도에 판한 연구가 부족했다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 첫째, 질감측정의 방법으로 공기행렬의 개념을 소개하고, 둘째, 위성영상으로부터 도출된 공기행렬로부터 얻어질 수 있는 여러 가지 특성치들의 유용성을 평가하여 컴퓨터를 이용한 분류 시 적절한 특성치를 선정할 수 있는 근거를 마련하며, 셋째, 여러 특성치들의 공간해상도에 따른 변화추이를 조사하여 공기행렬이 적용될 수 있는 적정해상도를 제시하고자 한다.

번행초 추출물의 항산화 및 항염증 효과 (Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory Activities of Tetragonia tetragonoides Water Extract)

  • Objectives : Tetragonia tetragonioides is one of the traditional herbal medicines that can be used to protect the stomach and treat cancer. However, its mechanism of overcoming gastrointestinal disorders is unclear. In this study, we investigated antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of Tetragonia tetragonioides Water Extract (TTWE) on RAW264.7 cells. Methods : The cell viability by TTWE was measured by using MTT assay. The free radical scavenging ability and cytokine production were analyzed by using ELISA Kit. SPSS version 25 was used for statistical analysis. Results : According to the results of this study, the cell viability measurement of TTWE significantly affected the cell viability. The radical scavenging ability of TTWE showed the highest effect compared to the positive control group when the concentration was 3.1-12.5 ㎍/ml, and significantly inhibited NO production induced by LPS. In addition, the inhibitory effect of TTWE on the production of IL-6 and TNF-α induced by LPS was significant at both TTWE concentrations of 12.5 ㎍/ml [p <0.01 (IL-6), p <0.05 (TNF-α)]. Conclusion : In conclusion, it is suggested that the antioxidant function of Tetragonia tetragonioides Water Extract could be used to prevent and treat inflammatory diseases.

봄철 영동 지역 국지 하강풍 메커니즘과 지형 효과에 대한 연구 (Study on Mechanisms and Orographic Effect for the Springtime Downslope Windstorm over the Yeongdong Region)

  • The statistical analysis for the springtime windstorm in Korea shows that Yeongdong region has the highest occurrence frequency during recent 10 years. The objective of this study is to find possible mechanisms for the downslope windstorm formation in the Yeongdong region by using a mesoscale numerical model, WRF. Dynamical process, wave breaking (hereafter WB), is qualitatively investigated as the candidate mechanism for a windstorm event occurred in 5 April, 2005. WB is developed in upper troposphere downstream, since stable air is lifted by the Taebaek mountain. This process can cause and maintain the severe downslope windstorm by drawing the upper flow down to the surface. And the intensified downslope wind leads the hydraulic jump (hereafter HJ) in downstream region. Froude numbers at Chuncheon (upslope side), Seorak Mountain (crest), Yangyang (lee side), and the East Sea (distant downstream position) are estimated by about 0.4, 1.0, 1.6, and 0.6, respectively. This result implies that the accelerated and supercritical (Fr>1) flow adjusts to the ambient subcritical (Fr<1) conditions in the turbulent HJ. In addition, we find the formation of upstream inversion near top level of the mountain cause the intensification of HJ. Experiments to examine the orographic effect on the mechanisms suggest that the magnitudes of WB and HJ are larger in the experiment of higher topography, but there is no significant difference of windstorm magnitude among the experiments. Another important result from these sensitivity experiments is that the intensity of downslope windstorm strongly depends on the magnitude of upper (2~4 km) wind in upstream side.

Thiol-dependent Redox Mechanisms in the Modification of ATP-Sensitive Potassium Channels in Rabbit Ventricular Myocytes

  • Cellular redox state is known to be perturbed during ischemia and that $Ca^{2+}$ and $K^2$ channels have been shown to have functional thiol groups. In this study, the properties of thiol redox modulation of the ATP-sensitive $K^2$ ($K_{ATP}$) channel were examined in rabbit ventricular myocytes. Rabbit ventricular myocytes were isolated using a Langendorff column for coronary perfusion and collagenase. Single-channel currents were measured in excised membrane patch configuration of patch-clamp technique. The thiol oxidizing agent 5,5'-dithio-bis-(2-nitro-benzoic acid) (DTNB) inhibited the channel activity, and the inhibitory effect of DTNB was reversed by dithiothreitol (disulfide reducing agent; DTT). DTT itself did not have any effect on the channel activity. However, in the patches excised from the metabolically compromised cells, DTT increased the channel activity. DTT had no effect on the inhibitory action by ATP, showing that thiol oxidation was not involved in the blocking mechanism of ATP. There were no statistical difference in the single channel conductance for the oxidized and reduced states of the channel. Analysis of the open and closed time distributions showed that DTNB had no effect on open and closed time distributions shorter than 4 ms. On the other hand, DTNB decreased the life time of bursts and increased the interburst interval. N-ethylmaleimide (NEM), a substance that reacts with thiol groups of cystein residues in proteins, induced irreversible closure of the channel. The thiol oxidizing agents (DTNB, NEM) inhibited of the $K_{ATP}$ channel only, when added to the cytoplasmic side. The results suggested that metabolism-induced changes in the thiol redox can also modulate $K_{ATP}$ channel activity and that a modulatory site of thiol redox may be located on the cytoplasmic side of the $K_{ATP}$ channel in rabbit ventricular myocytes.

Local Environmental Effects on AGN Activities

  • The local environmental effects on the triggering of active galactic nucleus(AGN) activity has been studied with many authors, but there still be controversy. We perform statistical analysis for nearby(0.01 < z < 0.05) volume limited(Mr < -19) samples with visual inspection based on Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release7. We inspect ~60,000 galaxy images visually to find peculiar objects which show not only ongoing merging features and tidal features, but also post merging features like ring or shell structures. We found that these peculiar features were shown at least 2 times more frequently among AGN host galaxies than non AGN galaxies, and this trend was still visible when galaxy properties such as color or stellar mass are fixed. Furthermore, L[OIII] and L(Ha) of peculiar galaxies are found to be more increased than those of normal galaxies. In order to ensure this results, we also checked it for a smaller subsample with ~2mag deeper monochromatic images provided from SDSS Stripe82 database, and found consistent results. At last, we perform the same work for pair(r_p<80kpc/h, delta_v<200km/s) systems. Because of some pair systems which do not interact gravitationally in actuality but fulfill the criteria for identification of pair system, the trends are found to be slightly weaker. We also found that line luminosities are increased consistently as projected distance between central and companion galaxy decreased, and as companion color gets bluer. Overall, the results of this study tell us that the local environment of galaxies affect the frequency as well as the strength of AGN activity. Local environmental effects, however, may not be the dominant triggering mechanism for AGN activity since the majority of peculiar galaxies are non AGN galaxies.
