Interstory-interbuilding actuation schemes for seismic protection of adjacent identical buildings

  • Rows of closely adjacent buildings with similar dynamic characteristics are common building arrangements in residential areas. In this paper, we present a vibration control strategy for the seismic protection of this kind of multibuilding systems. The proposed approach uses an advanced Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) computational procedure to carry out the integrated design of distributed multiactuation schemes that combine interbuilding linking devices with interstory actuators implemented at different levels of the buildings. The controller designs are formulated as static output-feedback H-infinity control problems that include the interstory drifts, interbuilding approachings and control efforts as controlled-output variables. The advantages of the LMI computational procedure are also exploited to design a fully-decentralized velocity-feedback controller, which can define a passive control system with high-performance characteristics. The main ideas are presented by means of a system of three adjacent five-story identical buildings, and a proper set of numerical simulations are conducted to demonstrate the behavior of the different control configurations. The obtained results indicate that interstory-interbuilding multiactuation schemes can be used to design effective vibration control systems for adjacent buildings with similar dynamic characteristics. Specifically, this kind of control systems is able to mitigate the vibrational response of the individual buildings while maintaining reduced levels of pounding risk.

  • Researches on the business value of IT and ICT in the past has been focused on static content researches such as study of IT ICT itself and study of the relationship between IT ICT and performance. In recent years, however, the need for discussions on the "process of IT and ICT making economic value (performance) difference between companies" is growing. In particular, there is a need for an framework to analyze the process of qualitative change (progress, evolution, improvement) of IT and ICT affecting the competitive advantage. In this paper, we present a framework for analyzing the process of creating competitive advantage by IT ICT and show the structure of how IT and ICT resources lead to the creation of competitive advantage. In order to achieve these objectives, this paper proposes a framework for the process of creating competitive advantage by linking IT and ICT related resources, value activities, value chains, and business processes.

영종대교 계측시스템의 신호데이터 분석 (Signal Analysis from a Long-Term Bridge Monitoring System in Yongjong Bridge)

  • 영종대교에 설치된 교량 모니터링 시스템의 구성특징을 살펴보고 이로부터 계측, 수집된 각 신호들의 특성을 조사 분석하였다. 3차원 자정식 현수교인 영종대교에 설치, 운영되는 모니터링 시스템의 구성은 센서-현장하드웨어-계측서버-관리자로 연결되는 자동화된 시스템으로써 개통 이후부터 교량의 거동 및 하중효과를 대변하는 물리량을 측정하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 시스템의 구성 및 측정항목에 대한 소개와 온도변화에 의한 시그널에의 영향을 감시 할 수 있는 알고리즘의 개발과정을 언급한다. 또한, 행어 케이블의 장력측정 방법의 일환으로 길이가 짧고 장력이 큰 케이블에 대해 정적으로 장력산정이 가능한 장치 및 알고리즘의 개발에 대해 소개한다. 특히 이 교량의 공용중에 이루어진 철도통행을 위한 설비의 추가로 교량 구조계의 변화를 계측 신호를 바탕으로 분석, 제시하였다. 이러한 각종 계측 및 모니터링 결과는 향후 교량의 상태판정의 기본자료로 활용되어 효율적 유지관리를 가능하게 할 것으로 기대된다.

콤바인 HST 전자제어시스템 개발- 제어특성 실외시험 - (Development of HST electronic control system for combine (II)- Outdoor tests for control Characteristics -)

  • I/An electro-hydraulic transmission having advantages of convenience, safety, simple linking and high power, and an electronic control system were designed and fabricated. In this study, characteristics of the control system were investigated through outdoor tests for evaluation of installation of the system on a combine. Major findings were as followings. 1. Experiment for performance evaluation of the control system was conducted on concrete road. With steering lever in neutral position, driving HST swash plate and left/right wheel speed increased in proportion to driving lever angle. In case of steering control, steering swash plate angle changed in proportion to steering lever angle. This should cause increase in outer wheel speed, but it was observed that HST swash plate was controlled toward neutral to maintain the speed before steering. As a result, speed before steering was maintained despite the change in outer wheel speed by steering HST swash plate angle change. 2. It was observed that the HST system enabled steering with outer wheel maintained at constant speeds while inner wheel speed decreased, which was more stable than conventional mechanical links. In addition, for the selected 5 criteria, experiment showed satisfactory results and it was judged that installation on real vehicle would be feasible. 3. The control system showed response property of appropriate forward/reverse movement and lift/right steering, without causing any problems during experiment on concrete. Result of response property experiment on field operation also showed appropriate control over forward/reverse movement and left/right steering.

실리콘겔 인공유방의 기계적 및 물리화학적 특성에 대한 연구 (Study for Mechanical and Physicochemcial Properties of Silicone Gel Filled Mammary Implants)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the guideline of the physicochemical and mechanical properties evaluation for silicone gel filled breast implants. First of all, the use and development status for silicone gel filled breast implants were investigated, and then, standard and criteria about performance evaluation established by the international organizations such as ASTM, FDA guidance and ISO were examined. To evaluate the mechanical properties, data research and testing for breaking strength, elongation, tensile set, joint intensity, silicone gel cohesion, weight loss from heating, static rupture resistance, impact resistance test, fatigue test, and gel bleed were performed. On the other hand, to evaluate the physicochemical properties, volatile matter, extent of cross linking, heavy metals, and extractable were analyzed. In this study, results for general function, mechanical properties and physicochemical properties were examined and reviewed for the accordance with international standard, and objective and standardized guideline was provided.

시스템 식별기법을 활용한 파압과 해수면 모델링 (Modelling of Wind Wave Pressure and Free-surface Elevation using System Identification)

  • 해수면과 해저파압을 연계하는 모수 모형을 개발하기 위한 시스템 식별법을 제시하였다. 비선형 고정변수를 포함한 선형 시불변 모형 구조를 가정하고 추가적인 입력자료를 갖는 자기회귀모형 (ARX)을 이용하여 해저파압 시계열자료로부터 해수면 시계열자료를 또는 해수면 시계열자료로부터 해저파압 시계열자료를 추출하는 방법을 제시하였다. 임의로 선정된 해수면과 해저 파압 자료를 이용하여 모형을 검증하였으며, 유사한 해저수심의 파압자료와 다른 해상 기상조건으로 생성된 해수면 스펙트럼 자료를 통해 재검증하였다. 시스템 식별법을 이용한 방법이 전통적인 선형파 이론을 이용한 선형전송함수(LTF) 방법보다 전반적으로 더 정확하게 수행됨을 확인하였다. 또한 본 논문에서 제시된 방법으로 추정된 해저 파압 시계열모의는 수정 선형전송함수(corrected LTF)에 의한 결과와 유사함을 확인하였다.

실크 세리신을 이용한 폴리에스테르의 쾌적가공 (The Skin Care Finishing of Polyester by Silk Sericin)

  • This study was carried out to improve the skin care property of the polyester fabric by finishing with sericin. It was known that skin care function, anti-oxidation, anti-tyrosinase activity and anti-elastase activity can be achieved from sericin finish. But, the moisture regain of the finished fabric was measured simply, because the major cause of the discomfort from polyester fabric has been anounced to be wetness. The effects of various treatment conditions on the properties of the finished fabric were measured, and obtained results were as follows: 1. The moisture regain at 40$^{\circ}C$ 90% RH were increased with the sericin uptake increasing. while it was not significant for the effects on the moisture regain depending on the treatment conditions like the degree of polymerization and treatment concentration of the binder. The moisture release of the fabric having sericin uptake 1%, 2% was faster than non treated fabric. The change of the moisture regain of the finished fabric from 40$^{\circ}C$ 90% RH to room temperature was 4∼5 times higher than that of knitted cotton fabric. 2. The frictional static charge was decreased with the degree of polymerization of the binder increasing. While the sericin uptake and treatment concentration of the binder were not significant. 3. The whiteness value of the fabric was slightly decreased by finishing with sericin and binder. In that cases, W values of the finished fabrics were above 90 while that depending on the degree of polymerization of the binder was not significant. 4. The major cause of the yellowness of the finished fabric was proved to be catalyst. The yellowness of the finished fabric with sulfur containing catalyst was lower than that with amine group containing catalyst. 5. The effects of the treatment concentrations of the cross-linking agent, catalyst and drying time on the wash durability were not significant.

거시-미시 순차적 교통시뮬레이션 방법과 부분상세지구의 동적 O/D추정 (Macroscopic-Microscopic Sequential Traffic Simulation Analysis and Dynamic O/D Estimation for Sub-area)

  • 본 연구에서는 거시적 넓은 지역에 대한 교통 분석과 부분상세지구(sub-area)의 교통 분석을 서로 단계적으로 연계하며 상호 교통 환경 변화에 대한 영향을 동시적으로 함께 반영하여 방법을 제안했다. 이와 같은 거시적-미시적 연계 분석을 위해 거시적 네트워크 분석, sub-area analysis, 가구통행실태의 출발시각 자료, 부분상세지구의 경계지점에서 시간대별 관측 링크 교통량 자료를 융합 분석함으로써 부분지구에 대한 동적 O/D 교통량을 추정하는 실무적 방법을 제안하였다. 이렇게 추정된 동적 O/D 교통량을 입력 자료로 하여 부분상세지구에 대해 미시 교통류 시뮬레이션 분석을 실행함으로써 다양한 국소적 지구의 교통정책 분석을 가능하게 하였다. 이와 같은 미시적 동적 분석은 거시적 네트워크 분석으로는 파악할 수가 없었던 대기행렬, 교차로 지체, 차량 간 상충 등의 분석을 가능하게 한다. 따라서 교통정책의 효과를 미세한 교통현상 변화까지 분석이 가능하도록 하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 실제 사례연구를 통해 거시적-미시적 연계 분석에 의한 부분상세지구 미시교통류 시뮬레이션 결과의 현실 설명력에 대한 검증 분석도 수행하여 미시적 동적 분석의 정책 활용 가능성에 대한 참고적 자료를 제공하였다.
