A mariner cadet gains the ability to identify and avoid potential collisions with other ships through ARPA/Radar simulation education. This research surveyed first domestic and overseas's rules (e.g., MOMAF's Standard, the STCW Convention, etc.) of the simulation education, upon investigation the only content and timing of this simulation-based education are specified according to these rules, and maritime education institutions issue the related certification autonomously after a student has taken the simulation because no simulation education module exists to further guide the ARPA/Radar simulation. As a result, it is difficult for students to acquire consistent maritime ability through ARPA/Radar simulation. This paper discusses standardization of these education modules to produce more consistent mariner ability, and verify the degree of improvement of education that would be achieved by enacting the proposed education module. The simulation education system used in maritime institutions in Korea was investigated, and scenarios reflecting traffic flow in actual waterways was proposed based on marine traffic surveys so teaching modules can educate/assess more effectively based on core marine abilities. Improvements in education and training were also verified using data collected over 2 years based on a standardized module. Each education institution can enact an effective, systematic education approach using standardized ARPA/Radar education modules proposed in this paper, and this can set a foundation to contribute to safer vessel navigation by improving maritime abilities.

Modular construction is a process in which a building is produced off-site in module boxes using standard materials. Since the introduction of prefabrication in building construction, Modular Coordination (MC) has become an essential design tool in building design and construction. However, in Korea, the design standardization has not been adequately applied to modular construction. This study intends to analyze the current status of modular construction in Korea and explore the applicability of MC design in the construction industry. The analysis of the current status of MC design within Korean four major modular construction companies indicates that an incremental dimension is not properly used in horizontal planning modules, which results in a problem of increasing construction cost by high material loss rate. But, in vertical planning modules, a incremental dimension of 100 mm (1 M) is found to be used although the structural system varies among manufacturers, which demonstrates the potential for an open system to be well applied in modular construction, despite different structural systems.

This study focus on the suggestion of application manual using assembling reference plane design & standard finish material basis upon material classification code. We see it will function as a tool of a linkage between building design and construction standarization in order to enlarge the applicability of house building material that is produced by the module plan. For a estabilishing of this condition, it is neccessary to link the standardization's result of material--design--construction field. According to this neccessity, we are going to suggest information factor that can make relative business manager easily approach to the standardization practical task.

When image sensor and lens are fixed on the module, mechanical errors often induce tilt, rotation, or narrow field-of-view of the acquired image. Therefore, the optical characteristics of image sensor modules should be tested by test equipments. This paper explains how to test the optical characteristics of images sensors. It also proposes the standardized description methods of optical characteristics tests which are similar with those of image acquisition characteristics tests. The proposed method helps the test equipments to perform image acquisition characteristics tests and optical characteristics tests together.

In this study to cope with the decreasing product's life-cycle a virtual simulator to realize the simulation environment similar to a real manufacturing line is developed. The developed simulator plays a role in reducing the product conversion time by alternating manufacturing components and work plans on the simulation as manufacturing lines change and actuating a virtual manufacturing lines change and actuating a virtual manufacturing line before a real production. The developed simulator realized a virtual manufacturing line on the simulation using various manipulators and work cells as manufacturing components. Also It can be shown that the simulator can cope with rapid change of a manufacturing line by developing a interface that a separate process is managed for each manufacturing module and a manipulator component and a work cell are changed for a user to become convenient to teach tasks of each work module. using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and OpenGL of Silicon Graphics for libraries to realize 3-dimensional graphic and constructing a database system, a hybrid type of hierachical and relational model to develop a progra that has efficiency and standardization.

The design and fabrication of LTE Cat.M1 (3GPP Release13 Standardization) modules of ships such as fishing boat and patrol boat are reported in this research. LTE cat.M1 modules are needed to expand the for broadening of IoT services through the ships used in fishing gear automatically identification monitoring system, which is one of applying ICT into the real name system of electric fishing gear.

In this study, in order to promote informatization of Meat Processed Food Industry, we standardize three processes of sales management, purchaser logistics and production management, develop standard modules, and develop integrated business functional design in ERP system development. This study reduces the cost of introducing the production equipment information standardization module in the food industry and the specialized IT companies that are slow in informatization, and maximizes the effectiveness and provides reliability by being a database where research standardization can be compared and analyzed. By applying the results of this study, it is possible to establish efficient processes of sales, buyer logistics, production, improvement of quality, and reduction of production cost from the receipt of food raw materials / subsidiary materials to finished products.

In present, there are many methods such as DCT, Wavelet Transform, or Quantization -to the image compression field, but the basic image compression method have based on DCT. The representative thing of the efficient techniques for information compression is DCT method. It is more superior than other information conversion method. It is widely applied in digital signal processing field and MPEG and JPEG which are selected as basis algorithm for an image compression by the international standardization group. It is general that DCT is consisted of using multiplier with main arithmetic blocks having many arithmetic amounts. But, the use of multiplier requires many areas when hardware is embodied, and there is fault that the processing speed is low. In this paper, we designed the hardware module that could run high-speed operation using row-column separation calculation method and Chen algorithm by distributed arithmetic method using ROM table instead of multiplier for design DCT module of high speed.

Digital content increased much according to the development of an information technique and internet. Many content services are appearing therefore. These would be provide customized digital content to satisfy user request following specific character of user. A digital content must be provided to the structure to be standardized for this. The expression is possible this in MPEG to DID of MPEG-21 framework which is processing the standardization. In this paper, We designed and implemented module that possible to create meta data and to package Digital Item via MPEG-21 DID Standardization based on selected information of consumer.

This study is intended to review the Nucleus System of standard hospitals in U.K. The research is focused on the theoretical background, contents of Nucleus System, and the operational problems through the survey of sample hospitals. The contents of research include the development history of standardization, outlines, aimes, advantages, the data of Nucleus system, and the study-visits of sample hospitals. The conclusion could be summarized as follows ; 1) The form of standard hospitals is compact and low-rise the major movements are horizontal. The standard plans of the functional dpartments are unified as cruciform with $15m{\times}15m$ module. 2) The Nulceus System has been developed. The hospitals have 3 stories maximum and courtyards for natural light & ventilation. 3) The advantages of Nucleus System includes reduction of design & construction period, the buildability due to the repetitive construction, and the running cost. And the disadvantages are mentioned as the lack of storage, staff accomodation, pantry, and sanitary facilities. 4) Sample hospitals provide human scale, possibilities of growth & change, and curing environment from art decoration & artificial lake. 5) In case of Korean situation, even the minimum standardization such as hospital design guidelines should be developed in near future.
