Nowadays, document management system is used to share the information using intranet in some enterprises. But for enterprise that is to share information with other enterprises, a simple information sharing environment like homepage or email is used. The goal of CALS is to increase productivity through rapid exchange of shared information between enterprises. CITIS is a software infrastructure in CALS and service standard to share the CALS data among business organizations. CITIS can be used as a software infrastructure for constructing virtual enterprise in the internet. In this paper, we design and implement CITIS prototype on the internet. Java is selected as an implementation language fer its portability and web-based characteristics. CORBA is an communication middleware for distributed objects.

Recently, because of the extensive use of geographic information in the various fields, the requirement for the easy circulation and utilization of the various geographic information among the individuals, organizations, societies and countries is raised. In order to support the interoperability of the heterogeneous geographic information in the various fields, OGC(Open GIS Consortium) proposed the GML(Geography Markup Language) specification that defines the XML encoding rule about the heterogeneous geographic information. In addition, ISO/TC 211 adopted the GML specification to make it as the international standard. Therefore, in this paper, we first analyzed the GML 3.0 specification in detail that can support the interoperability of the heterogeneous geographic information. And then we suggested and applied the mapping rule that define the encoding method to improve the encoding process easily and efficiently. Finally, we designed and implemented the GML 3.0 encoding system using the mapping rule to encode the geographic information that was constructed in spatial databases into the GML 3.0 document. Especially, we used ZEUS as a spatial database system to test our encoding system in this paper.

Among the various dysarthric subtypes, diagnosis of ataxic dysarthria is rendered when the speech characteristics include imprecise and irregular articulatory breakdowns, marked degree of speech rate impairment, overall monopitch and monoloudness, and respiratory-articulatory incoordination. Traditionally, speech pathologists have relied only upon their ‘ears’ to describe and evaluate the dysarthric speech. A statement of percentage of correct words identified by a listener do not provide so much more than an index of severity. Within the same perceptual dimension, a carefully constructed speech intelligibility test can specify patterns of errors. The patterns can contain a diagnostic value as well as Provide strategies for remediation. The phonetically transcribed texts on single words and a standard passage, 'kail' produced by an ataxic dysarthria are presented in this report, with an emphasis of the articulatory error analysis. Furthermore,, acoustic tools [e.g., spectrography to measure formant transitions, segment durations, consonant spectra, etc.] are utilized to serve as basic measures that objectively document patients' speech intelligibility, Finally, the treatment methods [e.g., spectrography as a visual feedback, gestural reorganization using pacing method, DAF (Delayed Auditory Feedback)] to modify the dysarthric behaviors are presented.

VoiceXML is a standard dialog mark-up language for the neat generation voice applications. The current VoiceXML 1.0 specification is silent on who place outbound calls for push-based voice applications. The push-barred voice applications become very important in modern information systems such as CRM. In this paper, we design and implement an extended VoiceXML platform that supports both inbound and outbound voice information services. We also extend the VoiceXML DTD so as to be able to inbound/outbound fax based on Call Control Requirements of W3C.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) has been used for business-to-business communication for almost a quarter of a century. Initial efforts Involved inter-company agreements on how to exchange commercial data, initially as information stored on tape and later as messages sent over dedicated data lines. To avoid having to use different protocols to move data between different companies, various Industry groups identified sets of data that could form the basis of individual agreements. The industry groups also sought to agree the format in which fields in such data sets were interchange so that a company only needed to develop one methodology for decoding information received without resource to human intervention. The XML/EDI specific components are built on top of existing standards for transmitting and processing XML-encoded data. These standards define shared features such as: the standard Internet file storage/naming and data transport mechanisms, file and message transfer formats, the syntax of data coded in XML, the way in which XML files can be validated by an XML parser or document object model generator, the way in which XSL presentation and data evaluation scripts can be associated with parsed objects, the use of rules and data management robots to manage application and repository interfaces.

The -advent of electronic navigation equipment and trustworthy computer which provides people with convenience made the management system by one-man bridge operation or the least people who are needed possible through the integration of communication network with various navigation equipment and related institution. One of the most needed ultra-modem navigation device for a mate, ECDIS is a core equipment for navigation in ENS that notifies peril to mate as well as supervises all tasks in hydrographical chart, voyage planning, course monitoring and voyage recording. We should make coast and ocean voyage planning first, for the secure navigation which is considering the course circumstances and next, for the reduction of voyage dates in economical aspect. There needs a thoughtful consideration about the feature of the ship itself and the course with weather condition in taking up the course and also we have to take into accounts about appropriate distance between ships. Considering the essential conditions of ECDIS the indispensable device in the future, it was developed the basic principle for voyage planning algorithm for officer and programmed to real implementation available. In this paper including most of the requirements in ECDIS performance standard I mentioned about such a basic and a core Principle with real application by using the Visual C++ programming language. The voyage plan includes the function that indicate and modifies all the way points in the course from department port to arrival port with erasing the wrong way points. Also, it provides in a document form that shows ETA at glance in average speed sailing.

The fluid performance is one of the key design factors considered during the development of torque converters especially at conceptual design stages. Therefore the design environment that allows an easy access to legacy data of fluid performance could be critical to reduce the design life cycle as well as to increase the performance of the torque converter. In this paper we present a computer-based system that enables designers to utilize massive legacy data for their design of torque converters. For the implementation of the system we propose a standard format for the legacy data and build them into the database to be efficiently shared by designers in the company. Also we provide numerous analysis tools in the system that allow, for example, database management, data viewing and document generation for search, analysis and reporting. In the paper the implementation of the system is introduced in detail with its effective user interface.

Recently, in various fields XML has been become a standard for information exchange in internet. Therefore, the researches on data modeling for storing and fetching the XML documents have been made actively. However, existing researches have weak points that they can support neither versioning nor fast fetching of documents while changing documents in dynamic environments. In this paper, we propose four kinds of hybrid data modeling schemes that combine fragmentation model and nonfragmentation model. Our data modeling schemes are suitable to dynamic environments. We also present guidelines that our hybrid data modeling schemes can be used for various applications. We shaw through various experiments that our hybrid schemes partially outperforms the existing modeling schemes in terms of insertion time, storage space and retrieval time.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop core competency of midwife practices to improve midwifery education, national examination and clinical practices. Method: Literature and. document review and internet search and survey were used. 127 registered in the Korean Midwifery Association midwives by structured instrument were surveyed to analyze midwife's practices and work situation. Result : Midwifery education program has to be either a post graduate or a graduate program for people with nursing license. Midwifery practice has to be extended to a lifelong health care of all women including non-pregnant women, not just a health care of pregnant women and newborns. Thus, a primary health care of women, laws/ethics, and management skills were included in the core competencies of midwifery practice considering the international trend of future-oriented and extended role of a midwife. Also, newborn care and ability to cope with emergency situations were emphasized based on the midwife´s opinion. Conclusion: This study has to be developed midwifery practices and education and the standard of midwifery practice has to be stated based on that result.

Event logging plays increasingly an important role in system and network management, and syslog is a de-facto standard for logging system events. However, due to the semi-structured features of Common Log Format data most studies on log analysis focus on the frequent patterns. The extensible Markup Language can provide a nice representation scheme for structure and search of formatted data found in syslog messages. However, previous XML-formatted schemes and applications for system logging are not suitable for semantic approach such as ranking based search or similarity measurement for log data. In this paper, based on ranked keyword search techniques over XML document, we propose an XML tree structure through a new data modeling approach for syslog data. Finally, we show suitability of proposed structure for semantic retrieval.
