Color Analysis of Avatar fashion style from on-line portal sites

  • The purpose of this study is to classify Avatar fashion style through analysis of on-line Avatar Mall and to propose color pallette and fashion contents from fashion color analysis. The literature research focused on investigating the notion, characters and types of Avatar and relation of Avatar and self-image, clothing image and color image. In data research, 4 on-line portal sites Avatar Malls were analyzed and Avatar fashion style was classified. In addition, Avatar clothing color was analyzed. The research of this study are as follows: Firstly, Avatar in the cyber space represents 'me' of the real states. Avatar fashion helps to represent Avatar Image and clothing makes human image and identity as a social sign. Color helps to constitute clothing impression and human image, therefore clothing and color are the important elements to express self-image through Avatar in the cyber space. Secondly, Avatar Malls of 4 on-line portal sites are very similar and confuse Avatar users because of no standard of fashion style classification. Accordingly, the standard of fashion style classification should be made by a fashion expert, and the specific characters of every on-line portal site should be emphasized. Thirdly, as a result of the analysis of Avatar's clothing, the clothing is divided into a real world clothing and an imaginary world clothing. There are daily clothes, uniform, event clothes, story clothes and fantasy clothes. As a result of the color analysis of Avatar clothing, White, Red, Red Purple colors and bright and vivid tone are generally used for Avatar clothing. This study is significant to classify Avatar fashion style systematically, to notify sensitive and delicate users' sign and to make Avatar fashion image emotional and high-quality.

  • This thesis researches consumers' behaviors in Purchasing avatar fashion products depending on their motives and point of reference as the avatar fashion marketing is conducted. Also, it explores the correlation between avatar's fashion products and the point of reference by which consumers actually purchase casual wear. The results were as follows: First, Avatar's fashion product purchasing motivation is done through four classified dimensions, conformity, differentiation, fashionability, and substitution. The standard of Avatar's fashion product choice was classified by the symbol (Product name recognition) and two dimensions of aesthetics. Second. the more valued the aesthetic component of Avatar's fashion product the greater effect on the order the dimensions used in correlation in this case being substitution, differentiation, conformity, and fashionability. Should the consumer place greater value on the Product symbol the dimension order is affected in order by fashionability, conformity, and differentiation. Third, fashionability was a stronger consideration for women as opposed to men in terms of demographical feature. whereas symbol (Product recognition) was of greater importance to higher income people. Last, when aesthetics is considered to buy Avatar's fashion products it is favorably comparable to other casual wear lines. In other words, symbol is considered to buy casual's, it brings to the same result when buying Avatar's. Avatar's fashion product was great tool to research new casual wear line because of approving by the correlation to each other.

성인여성 버추얼 패션 3D 아바타와 Size Korea 인체형상의 형태 차이 비교 (A Comparative of the Different between Virtual Fashion 3D Avatar and Size Korea of Adult Women's Body Shapes)

  • This study provide basic data to develop a dress form reflecting body shape characteristics by age and to produce a 3D body form in a virtual fitting program. A comparative analysis was conducted on the size, section shape, and slope of side shape of the modeling form by the sizing of the basic female avatar in CLO 3D, one of the 3D apparel CAD programs and the body form of women in their 20s-50s by body shape in the 6th Size Korea (2010). First, all the differences were formed similarly in the direct measurements between the 3D avatar and the body form were within 1 mm. Second, in a comparison of the section form of the avatar and body form in Size Korea, the avatar was formed in straight body shape and did not reflect a spinal curvature according to age. As a result of an examination of the items with a difference over 5° in the slope of side shape, there were angle differences in numerous body shapes in the angles of the side upper abdomen, side upper back, and side upper bust, and the avatar's bust shape was expressed more flatly compared to body form. It will be possible to produce an avatar that can adequately reflect body shape characteristics by adding detailed length and angle items by the region like waist back length and front length in producing the avatar reflecting body shape characteristics, instead of a standard body shape.

A Study on the Body Shape Analysis for an Avatar Generation of the Virtual Fitting System -Focusing on Korean Women in their 20's-

  • In the virtual fitting system, the use of a 3D avatar is not a simple garment model, but it should be able to reproduce the size and shape of the customer using a fitting system. Although various virtual fitting systems have their own 3D avatar sizing systems and provide 3D avatars that match the size of the customer, there are limitations in realizing the actual body shape in actual use by the consumer. The purpose of this study is to realize a 3D avatar with excellent size and conformity for customer use. Therefore, this study aims to provide basic data for the formation of a 3D standard avatar of Korean women aged in their 20's, by comparing and analyzing the degree of the consumer user friendly system change of a body type, and the consumer's ability in selecting a consumer representative body type. Based on the survey data of 'Size Korea' conducted from 2004 to 2015 at three times, we examined the change of body shape over 10 years. Then, based on the results of 6th and 7th data, 4 factors of the concurrent body shape change of women of the consumer demographic studied were selected through the use of a factor analysis. Following this analysis, the 4 extracted factors were clustered again and finally released 7 representative body types, which were obtained based on height and weight. The size of each representative figure is derived by the use of a regression analysis, and it is used as a basic data for 3D avatar formation of the virtual fitting system.

  • The 3D virtual fitting system is a new and very efficient system replacing real fitting in apparel industry and on-line shopping. It is a win-win system for both of consumer and manufacturer which not only reduces design and production time but also resolves consumer's complaints by checking the wearing image beforehand. It is a must-have item in the future. The purpose of this study is to analyze sizing menu, terms, and current status and to figure out problems of avatar sizing programs which substitute human bodies in virtual fitting. We chose three existing outstanding programs in domestic and global market, compared and analyzed the program, manual, and terms that are used in avatar sizing, and investigated the strengths, weaknesses, problems of options and terms and finally suggested an alternative terms. The revealed problems are as follows: each program supports various avatars ranging from male to female, from child to adult, and from oriental style to western style. The image of the avatar could be changed through the options for hair style, shoes and accessories. But we found out some problems. The avatar body types are far from actual human body types, avatar sizing menus and item terms are different from program to program, and terms not yet standardized. Cooperative efforts of industry and academy on standardization of sizing menus and terms should be emphasized for the virtual fitting system to be widely used like the other computer graphic programs or word editors.

실시간 감정 표현 아바타의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Real-Time Emotional Avatar)

  • 본 논문에서는 얼굴의 표정 변화를 인식하여 실시간으로 감정을 표현하는 아바타를 설계하고 구현하는 방법을 제안하였다. 실시간 감정 표현 아바타는 수동으로 아바타의 표정 패턴을 변화를 주는 것이 아니라 웹캠을 이용하여 실시간으로 입 모양 특징을 추출하고 추출한 입 모양의 패턴을 분석한 뒤, 미리 정의된 표정 패턴에 부합되는 것을 찾는다. 그리고 부합된 표정 패턴을 아바타에 적용하여 아바타의 얼굴 표정을 표현한다. 표정 인식 아바타는 웹캠에서 들어온 영상을 모델 접근 방법을 이용하여 보다 빠르게 입 부분을 인식할 수 있도록 하였다. 그리고 표정 패턴 추출은 표정에 따라 입 모양이 변하는 것을 이용하였다. 모델접근 방법을 이용하여 눈의 정보를 찾은 후 그 정보를 이용하여 입 모양을 추출하게 된다. 기본적으로 13가지 입 모양으로 각각의 표정을 유추하고 각 표정 패턴에 맞는 6개의 아바타를 미리 구현하여 보다 빠르게 아바타의 표정을 변할 수 있게 하였다.

  • 아바타 스크립트 언어는 사이버 공간에서 아바타의 동작을 제어하기 위해서 사용되는 명령어들로 이루어져있다. 사용자가 아바타 동작 스크립트 언어를 쉽게 작성하기 위해서는 스크립트 언어의 행위표현이 복잡한 하위수준 동작 표현 요소로부터 최대한 추상화되어야 한다. 또한 작성된 시나리오 스크립트 가 다양한 구현환경에 적용 될 수 있는 표준적인 구조를 가지고 있어야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 작업수준 행위, 상위수준 동작 및 기본 동작 스크립트 언어로 구성된 계층적 아바타 행위 표현 언어를 정의하였다. 각 계층의 언어는 사용자의 스크립트 작성을 위한 행위 요소와 아바타 동작 시퀀스 및 구현 환경의 기하 정보를 분리하여 표현한다. 제안 언어를 통하여 사용자는 추상화된 스크립트 작성이 가능하며 작성된 스크립트는 번역 과정을 거쳐 다양한 구현 환경에 적용이 가능하다 구현 결과에서는 제안 기법을 적용한 시스템을 구축하여 사이버 교육 도메인 환경에서 아바타 스크립트 시나리오의 작성 과정 및 스크립트가 다양한 응용 프로그램에 유연하게 적용되는 것을 보여준다.

한국인 표준 아바타 모델링을 위한 20-30대 여성 체형 분석 (Analysis of Female Body Types in Their 20s and 30s for Modeling Korean Standard Avatar)

  • This study categorized and analyzed the body types of adult women in their 20s and 30s using 3D human measurement data from the 8th Size Korea, and intended to construct body shape and dimension data necessary for modeling Korean standard avatars. Data analysis considered data from 1302 adult women in their 20s and 30s, and a total of 49 index values, drop values, and angle items were subjected to factor analysis and one-way ANOVA to categorize the body type, and Duncan test to post-verify significant differences by type. As a result of conducting factor analysis, 13 factors were extracted and were categorized into 4 body types. Type 1 is short in the upper torso, long in the lower torso, long in the arms and legs, and has a upright body shape and sagging shoulder. Type 2 is short in the torso, arms and legs, and has large torso flexion and lower body circumference. Type 3 has abdominal obesity with small torso flexion and lower body circumference. Type 4 is a small body bending forward type. For the distribution of body types by age among those in their 20s and 30s, the highest appearance rate was Type 1 and was therefore selected as the represntative body type. The body type information of this study will be used as basic data for developing standard avatars.

여성 재킷의 실제착의와 가상착의 비교를 통한 3D 가상착의 시스템 개선에 대한 연구 (A study on the 3D simulation system improvement through comparing visual images between the real garment and the 3D garment simulation of women's Jacket)

  • 본 연구는 20대 여성에 대한 재킷의 실제착의와 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션으로 재현된 가상착의 상태를 디자이너 집단과 패터너 집단이 비교 분석하여 가상착의 시스템의 개선 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 착의 방식에 따른 디자이너 집단의 외관평가 차이 분석에 있어서 앞면에 대한 개 항목 옆면에 대한 개 항목 뒷면에 대한 1개 항목 소매에 대한 개 항목 칼라에 대한 개 항목에서 평가에 대한 차이가 있었다. 착의 방식에 따른 패터너 집단의 외관평가 차이 분석에 있어서 옆면에 대한 개 항목 뒷면에 대한 개 항목 소매에 대한 개 항목 칼라에 대한 개 항목에서 평가에 대한 차이가 있었으며 모든 항목에서 가상착의의 모습이 더 아름답다고 하였다. 착의 방식에 따른 외관평가에 있어서 디자이너 집단과 패터너 집단의 평가가 차이가 있었으며 이는 디자이너 집단과 패터너 집단이 의복의 맞음새를 평가하는 기준이 다르다는 것을 시사한다.

3D CAD system을 활용한 여성재킷 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (A study on simulation of women's Jacket using 3D CAD system)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 여성 재킷의 실제착의와 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션으로 재현된 가상착의 A, B 간의 차이를 비교분석하여 가상착의 시스템의 개선 방향을 제안하는 것이다. 연구 방법은 아래와 같다. 기본 사이즈 재킷을 입은 표준사이즈의 피험자 사진을 찍고, 피험자 인체사이즈의 아바타에게 재킷을 가상 착의하여 이미지를 얻었다. 여성 재킷 고객 20명에게 이미지를 제시 한 후 설문 조사 방법으로 외관 평가를 실시하였다. 이 외관 평가에서 실제 재킷과 가상 재킷 A간의 일치정도를 비교했고, 실제 재킷과 가상 재킷 B간의 일치정도를 비교했다. 그 후 실제착의/가상착의 A와 실제착의/가상착의 B간의 외관 평가 차이를 t-test하였다. 그 결과 원단에 대한 1개 항목, 앞면에 대한 9개 항목, 옆면에 대한 3개 항목, 뒷면에 대한 6개 항목에서 외관 평가에 대한 차이가 있었다.
