An Analysis on Micro-climate Characteristic of Apartments in Beijing, China Using ENVI-met Simulation (ENVI-met를 이용한 중국 베이징 아파트 하절기 미기후 특성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze outdoor thermal comfort of apartments planning characteristic of pedestrian height in Beijing, China. Selecting 322 apartment complexes with more than 1000 households and more than 10 buildings(including 10 buildings), mainly in Chaoyang District and Tongzhou District to select 32 basic layout types and then 12 typical layout types were select in 32 basic layout types. Finally, the simulation was conducted for the 12 typical layout types using the micro-climate model ENVI-met to evaluate the wind environment, the thermal environment and the comfort. The results of this study as follows: In the parallel arrangement, it has the best outdoor thermal comfort of Slab-East-Parallel(S/E/P). Next is Slab-South-Parallel(S/S/P), Tower-South-Parallel(T/S/P) in turn. In the stagger arrangement, Mixture-South-North and South Stagger-1(M/S/NSS-1) has the best outdoor thermal comfort and Slab-South-North and South Stagger(S/S/NSS), Tower-South-North and South Stagger(T/S/NSS), Mixture-South-North and South Stagger-3(M/S/NSS-3), Mixture-South-North and South Stagger-4(M/S/NSS-4), Mixture-South-North and South Stagger-2(M/S/NSS-2) in turn. In the cluster arrangement, Mixture-Mixture-Cluster-2(M/M/C-2) has the best outdoor thermal comfort and Mixture-Mixture-Cluster-3(M/M/C-3), Mixture-Mixture-Cluster-1(M/M/C-1) in turn. Due to the low wind speed and high air temperature, it is necessary to consider the layout types that can form the wind road at first, such as Mixture-South-North and South Stagger-1(M/S/NSS-1), Slab-South-North and South Stagger(S/S/NSS) and so on.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method to deinterleave multi-stage stagger PRI signals of pulse radars using the electronic intelligence systems. While former algorithms were based on hardware PRI tracker only using the first deviation of the TOA of radar signals, this paper uses the first and the second deviation of TOA of radar signals and uses the PRI histogram method to deinterleave multiple PRIs of pulse radars. This algorithm can be used for deinterleaving various PRI signals at electronic intelligence systems.

  • This paper presents a new algorithm for estimating pulse repetition intervals (PRIs) of stagger PRI pulse trains using a 2 dimensional TDOA histogram. The PRI transform algorithm can remove harmonics of stable and jitter PRI pulse trains in a TDOA histogram. But, it is impossible for the algorithm to detect stagger PRI pulse trains because it regards frame PRIs of stagger Pulse trains as harmonics of stable PRI pulse trains. A new algorithm of this paper has an ability to distinguish stagger pulse trains from harmonics of other pulse trains and to estimate frame PRIs of detected pulse trains.

Stall Inception Characteristics of Axial Compressor Varying IGV Stagger (축류압축기의 입구안내깃 각도에 따른 스톨선구신호 특성 연구)

  • Stall inception characteristics are researched to understand stall well. To realize different stall inception patterns, IGV stagger angle was changed. At design IGV stagger angle, spike, which is short length scale, is observed. Decreasing IGV stagger angle, spike changes to mode, which is long length scale, and further decreasing get multi cell. Compressor maps for each IGV stagger are shown to compare different stall inceptions. The characteristics of both spike and mode are confirmed in this experiment. Furthermore, transient from spike to mode is find. multi cell has 4cells and is little bit faster than mode. and multi cell shows 2nd, 3rd characteristics on compressor map.

  • Catenary and Pantograph are used to transmit electrical energy to electric railways. Catenary (Overhead Contact Lines) should be installed precisely and managed for stable train operations. But external factors such as weather, temperature, etc., or aging affect catenary geometry. Changed catenary stagger and height cause high voltage spark or instant electric contact loss. Big spark derived from contact loss can damage the pantograph carbon strip and overhead contact lines that might interrupt the train operations. Therefore, to prevent a big scale spark or electric contact loss, catenary maintenance are required catenary geometry measurement systems with catenary maintenance capability. In this paper, we describe the development of catenary height and stagger measurement system. The catenary height and stagger measurement system uses Acuity company's AR4000 Laser Range Finder for distance measurement and AccuRange Line Scanner for degree measurement. This system detects suspicious overhead line sections with excessive stagger and height stagger variance.

  • A principle for the determination of reel stagger, based on reel kinematics and crop stem deflection , is proposed. Equation derived theoretically and information obtained empirically are combined to obtain an algorithm for the determination of reel stagger. The algorithm has yet to be evaluated on actual combine harvesters in the harvesting mode.

  • Catenary and Pantograph are a power supply devices for electric trains and shall be steadily contacted. Rail catenary must be installed precisely and managed for stable train operations. But external factors such as weathers, nature, etc., or aging affect catenary geometry. Changed catenary height causes high voltage spark or instant electric disconnection. Big spark and disconnection damage pantograph shoe and catenary coating and might interrupt rail operations. To prevent a big scale spark or electric disconnection catenary maintenance shall be required with catenary geometry measurement systems. In this paper, we describe the development of catenary height and stagger measurement system.   • An analytical procedure on the base of the substructure synthesis and assumed modes method is developed to investigate the flexibility effect of bladed disk assembly on vibrational modes of flexible rotor system. In modeling the system, Coriolis forces, gyroscopic moments, and centrifugal stiffening effects are taken into account. The coupled vibrations between the shaft and bladed disk are then extensively investigated through the numerical simulation of simplified models, with varying the shaft rotational speed and the pretwist and stagger angles of the blade. It is found that the Coriolis and inertia forces and the inertia torque, which are induced by the one nodal diameter modes of the bladed disk and vary depending upon the stagger and pretwist angles, lead to the coupled motions of the shaft and the bladed disk.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method to quickly deinterleave the stagger PRI signals and D&S(Dwell and Switch) PRI signals from the EP radar using the electronic warfare system. While former algorithms were based on stochastic methods only using the first deviation of the TOA of radar signals, this paper uses the first and the second deviation of the TOA of radar signals to deinterleave multiple PRIs of EP radars. When we simulate multiple PRIs of EP radars and test the simulated radar signals using the proposed algorithm, various PRI signals such as fixed, jitter, D&S and stagger PRI are well deinterleaved in a short time. This algorithm is found to be very useful for electronic warfare systems.

  • In this paper, we present a novel pulse train identification method for two step stagger pulse train. Generally radar uses a fixed pulse train, and it is easy for electronic warfare system to measure the pulse repeat interval(PRI) and identify the radar. But it is very difficult to measure the PRI of stagger pulse radar because the pulse interval is periodically changed. We suggest a novel method to measure the PRI and identify the radars using the second deviation of pulse train. This method is faster comparing with Histogram method. We have a good PRI measurement results for 2 step stagger signals.
