AUV hull lines optimization with uncertainty parameters based on six sigma reliability design

  • Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), which are becoming more and more important in ocean exploitation tasks, needs energy conservation urgently when sailing the complex mission path in long time cruise. As hull lines optimization design becomes the key factor, which closely related with resistance, in AUV preliminary design stage, uncertainty parameters need to be considered seriously. In this research, Myring axial symmetry revolution body with parameterized expression is assumed as AUV hull lines, and its travelling resistance is obtained via modified DATCOM formula. The problems of AUV hull lines design for the minimum travelling resistance with uncertain parameters are studied. Based on reliability-based optimization design technology, Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) for high quality level is conducted, and is proved more reliability for the actual environment disturbance.

침하예측을 위한 쌍곡선 식의 신뢰성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Reliability for Settlement Predictions by Hyperbolic Method)

  • 연약지반 개량을 위한 프리로딩 공법에서 침하 애측은 시공관리상 매우 중요한 요소이다. 지반의 비균질성, 지반 물성치 조사의 한계 등의 이유로 설계시에 침하속도 및 침하량을 실제 발생치와 근접하게 예측하기는 매우 어렵다. 이러한 문제점 때문에 쌍곡선법,아사오카법 등 초기 침하계측을 이용한 장래 침하 추정 법들이 침하 예측 기법으로 활발하게 이용되고 있으나, 예측 시점에서 추정된 장래 침하량의 신뢰성에 대한 평가 방법엔 대하여서는 제시된 바가 없다. 본 연구는 사례연구를 통하여 쌍곡선법으로 예측된 장래침하량들과 실 침하량들을 비교하구 초기 계측 기간에 따른 장래 침하량 예측의 신뢰성에 관한 분석을 통하여. 쌍곡선법을 이용한 장래 침하량 추정의 신뢰성 평가 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study of the Evacuation Safety for Workers on the Theater Stage Plan Shapes

  • 본 연구는 공연시설 내 공연장 무대공간에서 위기상황에서 피난 시 공연예술종사자가 반입구 및 공연자통로를 적극적으로 활용하는 것을 제안하는 것이 목적이다. 먼저 공연장 안전과 관련된 제도를 분석하고 무대피난 유형을 건축법 내 객석 피난 기준을 적용하여 A, B, C, D 형태로 분류하였다. 둘째, 측정자료를 바탕으로 통계자료를 정리하고 각 형태의 특징을 정리하였다. 셋째, 무대공간에서 피난 경로의 피난 안전성을 평가하기 위해 네트워크 신뢰도 측정방법을 차용하였다. 그리고 무대중심에서 반입구 방향, 공연자 출입문 방향이 피난에 유리함을 정량적으로 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 피난형태에 따른 피난의 유리함(A(0.1274)>B(0.1228)>C(0.0487))을 구분할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 무대피난 안전성을 향상과 무대피난의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

유연힌지형 정밀스테이지의 모델링 및 진동제어 (Modeling and Vibration Control of the Precision Positioning Stage with Flexible Hinge Mechanism)

  • This paper suggests a precision positioning control technique of a precision positioning stage with coupling effects. The precision positioning stage is supported by four flexible spring hinges and driven by two piezoelectric actuators. The dynamic characteristics of the precision positioning stage is modeled and identified by the FEM analysis. The dynamic characteristics of the stage are also identified by the frequency domain modeling technique based on the experimental data. Reliability of two modeling methods is examined by comparing the numerically and experimentally produced responses of the stage. This paper proposes a sliding mode control technique with integrator to improve the tracking ability of the precision positioning stage to the complex input signal using. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed modeling schemes and control algorithm, experiment validations are performed.

  • Purpose: There is no established inspection system for composite wind blade during the fabrication stage even though the blades are one of the most important part at wind generation system, but phased array ultrasonic testing method has been continuously studied about wind turbine blade with composite. When wind turbine blade with complex shape by phased array probe is inspected, it is necessary to study for system keeping constant pressure using pressure device. Methods: In this paper, we propose constant pressure device for inspecting wind turbine blade by phased array ultrasonic test method. Design of the device controller is based on Hunt-Crossley model. We evaluate reliability of phased array ultrasonic inspection result that applicated constant pressure device. Result: Defect indication is precise and its error is small when constant pressure mechanism based on Hunt-Crossley model was used. Conclusion: When inspection is progressed using constant pressure mechanism, the reliability of composite wind blade inspection can be improved.

Providing Reliable Prognosis to Patients with Gastric Cancer in the Era of Neoadjuvant Therapies: Comparison of AJCC Staging Schemata

  • Purpose: Patients with gastric cancer who receive neoadjuvant therapy are staged before treatment (cStage) and after treatment (ypStage). We aimed to compare the prognostic reliability of cStage and ypStage, alone and in combination. Materials and Methods: Data for all patients who received neoadjuvant therapy followed by surgery for gastric adenocarcinoma from 2004 to 2015 were extracted from the National Cancer Database. Kaplan-Meier (KM)curves were used to model overall survival based on cStage alone, ypStage alone, cStage stratified by ypStage, and ypStage stratified by cStage. P-values were generated to summarize the differences in KM curves. The discriminatory power of survival prediction was examined using Harrell's C-statistics. Results: We included 8,977 patients in the analysis. As expected, increasing cStage and ypStage were associated with worse survival. The discriminatory prognostic power provided by cStage was poor (C-statistic 0.548), while that provided by ypStage was moderate (C-statistic 0.634). Within each cStage, the addition of ypStage information significantly altered the prognosis (P<0.0001 within cStages I-IV). However, for each ypStage, the addition of cStage information generally did not alter the prognosis (P=0.2874, 0.027, 0.061, 0.049, and 0.007 within ypStages 0-IV, respectively). The discriminatory prognostic power provided by the combination of cStage and ypStage was similar to that of ypStage alone (C-statistic 0.636 vs. 0.634). Conclusions: The cStage is unreliable for prognosis, and ypStage is moderately reliable. Combining cStage and ypStage does not improve the discriminatory prognostic power provided by ypStage alone. A ypStage-based prognosis is minimally affected by the initial cStage.

엔진 T-JOINT부 거동특성 분석을 통한 누유 개선 (A Study for Improving the Leakage Problem by Analyzing the Characteristics of T-Joint Part Movement)

  • Due to the excellent durability of Timing Chain, it has been widely used for vehicle engine system. Unlike the timing belt, since the timing chain is operated with the metallic sprocket, the lubrication system is absolutely needed to get this system start. As frequently met at the field, the lubricant has a strong tendency to leak out from the engine due to its severe operating environment. In this paper, results of investigation for thermal movement of aluminum chain cover were described to maximize the sealing ability which is desperately needed at the development stage of engine. Based on these results, some ideas for reproducing the leakage phenomenon and solving methods were proposed.

  • A method of estimating B$_{\alpha}$ life of crack growth is proposed based on the linear elastic fracture mechanic model. It is assumed that the coefficients in the Paris-Erdogan equation are random variables and their distributions are estimated by the method of 2-stage estimation from the fatigue crack growth data.   • 사람의 지문은 그 인식 성능과 종생 불변성 및 만인 부동성으로 인하여 신원 인증을 위한 생채 인식에서 가장 많이 이용되고 있다. 최근에는 지문인식의 신뢰성에 더하여, 그 인증속도가 지문인식을 각종 보안 어플리케이션에 응용하는데 있어서 매우 중요한 요소로 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 생체면역계에서의 자기 비자기구별 과정에 착안한 빠르고 신뢰성 있는 지문인식 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 매칭알고리즘은 지문영상의 특징점과 방향성분을 반영한 자기 공간 (self-space)과 MHC 인식부를 이용한 1차 매칭과, 특징점의 로컬 구조(local structure)를 이용한 2차 매칭의 두 단계로 구성된다. 이러한 2단계의 매칭을 통하여 인식의 신뢰성을 유지하면서 인증속도를 향상시켰다.

  • Purpose : The demand for higher fuel economy vehicles has helped develop fuel-efficient vehicles such as a CVVL called continuous variable valve lift. Existing CVVL has been applying DC type motor to control intake valve, but recently some car parts manufacturers have been developing a BLDC type CVVL motor for improvements of endurance performance. The purpose of this study is to find the potential failure mechanism of the CVVL BLDC moto in early stage of development based on the design properties and design the accelerated life test model. Methods : CVVL BLDC is consist of brushs, coil, magnetic, PCB, bearing and so on. Each component has a latent failure mechanism caused by temperature, humidity, vibration. By analysis result of the failure mechanism, thermal fatigue is the most important factor of a durability of CVVL BLDC motor. So, we designed a new accelerated life test model for guarantee of the CVVL BLDC motor. Results : A crack occurred on via hole in test using the conditions we designed, so we did change the design to avoid this failure. The via hole dimension is changed a little larger, as a result we achieve improvements in reliability of the CVVL BLDC motor. By applying various kinds and extreme level of stresses, we can find the operating limits of products. Conclusion : In thesis, We analyzed the failure mechanism of CVVL BLDC and designed an accelerated life test method to give a guarantee for reliability. Based on the test results, we could improve the reliability of developments by change of design.
