배전계통의 전압안정화를 위한 선로전압조정장치와 전지전력저장장치의 협조제어 알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Coordination Control Algorithm of Step Voltage Regulator and Battery Energy Storage System for Voltage Regulation in Distribution System)

  • In order to maintain customer voltages within allowable limit($220{\pm}13V$) as much as possible, tap operation strategy of SVR(Step Voltage Regulator) installed in distribution system is very important, considering the scheduled delay time(30 sec) of SVR. However, the compensation of BESS(Battery Energy Storage System) during the delay time of SVR is being required because the customer voltages in distribution system interconnected with PV(Photovoltaic) system have a difficultly to be kept within allowable limit. Therefore, this paper presents the optimal voltage stabilization method in distribution system by using coordination operation algorithm between BESS and SVR. It is confirmed that customer voltage in distribution system can be maintained within allowable limit($220{\pm}13V$).

The Effects of Sling Bridging Exercise to Pain Scale and Trunk Muscle Activity in Low Back Pain Patients

  • Most patients with chronic low back pain experience functional disability of trunk muscle, and limitations in physical activity. While there are many types of exercise programs available, in recent years sling exercise has been emerging as the exercise program for spinal stabilization. It has been supported by a great amount of research with positive findings on its effectiveness. This research studies the effects of bridging exercise, conducted on a sling, on pain level and trunk muscle activation in supine, sidelying, and prone positions during a 4 weeks period. 10 healthy people(normal group, n=10) and 28 patients with low back pain participated in this study. 28 patients were divided into two groups; one group participated in exercise with the sling(experimental group, n=14) and the other group exercised without the sling(control group, n=14). They were asked to use the Numerical Rating Scale(NRS) to answer to the level of their pain they felt (no pain: 0 point, severe pain: 10 points). During sling bridging exercises, the muscle activity level in each muscle measured in each position was standardized as three seconds of EMG signals during five seconds MVIC. In conclusion, the experimental group with four weeks of sling bridging exercise experienced a statistically significant reduction in the pain level(p<.05) and increase in the muscle activities of erector spinae when in supine position, internal oblique when in sidelying position, and rectus abdominis in prone position(p<.05). Regular sling bridging exercise reduces the low back pain and enhances other trunk muscle activation, thereby positively affect spinal stabilization.

논토양 내 비소 불용화에 대한 안정화물질의 처리 효과 (Stabilization of Arsenic in Paddy Soils Using Stabilizers)

  • BACKGROUND: Soil contamination of As is a very sensitive environmental issue due to its adverse impact on human health and different characteristics with other heavy metals. With public awareness of As poisoning, there has been growing interest in developing guideline and remediation technologies for As-contaminated soil. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of stabilizing amendments and soil dressing methods on the mobility of As in the contaminated rice paddy soils nearby mining area. METHODS AND RESULTS: Different amendments were mixed with surface and subsurface contaminated soils at a ratio of 3% (w/w) and monitored for five months. Three different extractants including 0.01M $CaCl_2$, TCLP, and PBET were used to examine As bioavailability in the soil and the concentration of As in rice grain was also measured with an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy. The results showed that all amendment treatments decreased As concentration compared to the control. Especially, coal mine drainage sludge (CMDS) treatment showed the highest efficiency of decreasing As concentration in the soil and rice grain. The values of Pearson correlation (r) between As concentrations in the soil and rice grain were 0.782, 0.753, and 0.678 for $CaCl_2$, TCLP, and PBET methods, respectively. Especially, $CaCl_2$ method was highly correlated between As concentrations of the soil and soil solution (r=0.719), followed by TCLP (r=0.706), PBET (r=0.561) methods. CONCLUSION: Stabilizing amendments can effectively reduce available As concentration in the soils as well as soil solution, and thereby potentially mitigating risks of crop contamination by As.

복부 브레이싱 운동이 20대 성인의 호흡기능에 미치는 영향에 관한 예비연구 (A Preliminary Study on Effects of Abdominal Bracing Exercise on Respiratory Function of Normal Adults)

  • 요부안정화 운동은 척추 주변 근육과 복부 근육을 강화시켜 최근 임상에서 많이 사용하는 운동 방법이지만 호흡기능에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 대표적인 요부안정화 운동인 복부 브레이싱 운동이 정상 성인의 호흡기능에 효과적인지를 알아보고자 실시하였다. 20대 성인 40명을 대상으로 각각 복부 브레이싱 운동을 25분간 실시하는 실험군과 일상생활을 25분간 하는 대조군으로 무작위 배치하였다. 호흡기능의 변화량을 비교하기 위하여 노력성 폐활량, 1초간 노력성 호기량과 최대호기유속을 통해 폐기능 검사를 하였고, 호흡압력의 변화량을 알아보기 위해 최대 호기압력과 최대 흡기압력을 측정하였다. 본 연구의 실험 결과 실험군에서 폐기능과 호흡압력 모두 유의하게 증가되었고(p<.05), 그룹 간 비교에서는 최대 흡기압력을 제외한 나머지 수치에서 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<.05). 이러한 결과는 복부 브레이싱 운동이 호흡기능을 향상시키기 위한 효과적인 운동으로 제시될 수 있다고 사료된다.

열 사이펀의 열전도율 산정을 위한 수치해석 모델 개발 (Development of Numerical Analysis Model for the Calculation of Thermal Conductivity of Thermo-syphon)

  • 북극권과 같은 한대지역의 동상민감성 지반은 계절적 대기 온도 변화 및 설치된 구조물의 온도에 의해 지반의 융기 및 침하 문제가 존재한다. 이러한 동상민감성 지반의 융기 및 침하 방지를 위한 지반안정화 공법으로는 매립 및 치환공법, 열 사이펀 등이 존재한다. 여기서 열 사이펀이란 내부 냉매의 증발, 응축을 반복하며 열 순환을 통해 이상 유동(two-phase flow)의 형태로 냉매가 지반의 온도를 외부로 전달하여 지반 온도를 조절 할 수 있는 공법이다. 본 연구는 이러한 열 사이펀의 성능을 열전도율로 수치화하기 위하여 ABAQUS 내부의 User-subroutine 코딩을 통해 열 사이펀을 지중의 한 열원으로 간주, 경계조건으로 적용시켜 기존 문헌의 열 사이펀 실내모형실험의 온도분포 결과와 비교하여 산정하였다.

Restoration of the Broken Lumbopelvic-hip Neuromuscular Chain and Coordinated Synergistic Activation in Low Back Pain

  • Background: The presence of the lumbopelvic-hip neuromuscular chain is essential for dynamic spinal stabilization; its therapeutic effects on dynamic movements of the distal extremity segment and underpinning motor mechanism remain unknown and warrant further study on participants with low back pain (LBP). Objects: We aim to compare the effects of the broken chain exercise (BCE) and connected chain exercise (CCE) on electromyography (EMG) amplitude and onset time in participants with and without LBP. Methods: Randomized controlled clinical trial. A convenience sample of 40 nonathletic participants (mean age: 24.78 ± 1.70) with and without LBP participated in this study. All participants underwent CCE for 30 minutes, 30-minute daily. We measured EMG amplitude and onset times on bilateral erector spinae (ES), gluteus maximus (GM), hamstring (HAM), transverse abdominis (TrA), internal oblique (IO), and external oblique (EO) during the prone hip extension (PHE) test before and after the BCE and CCE. We used multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) to analyze the amplitude and onset time difference between exercises (BCE and CCE) and Pearson's correlations to determine any synergistic relationship among the HAM, GM, bilateral TrA/IO, and ES muscles. The statistical analyses were used at p < 0.05. Results: MANOVA showed that CCE was more decreased on EMG amplitude in HAM and bilateral ES, while increased GM and contralateral TrA/IO than BCE (p < 0.05). MANOVA EMG onset time data analyses revealed that the main effect of the conditions was significant for all HAM, GM, and bilateral ES muscles, whereas the main effect for the group was significant only for GM and contralateral ES in healthy and LBP groups. Pearson's correlation coefficient was computed to assess the relationship between BCE and CCE on dependent variables. In most of the muscles, there was a strong, positive correlation between the two variables, and there was a significant relationship (p < 0.001). Conclusion: CCE produced more effective and coordinated core stabilization and motor control mechanism in the lumbopelvic-hip muscles in participants with and without LBP during PHE than BCE.

중금속 오염 농경지 토양의 복원을 위한 토량개량법의 효과 비교 (A Comparison on the Effect of Soil Improvement Methods for the Remediation of Heavy Metal Contaminated Farm Land Soil)

  • 대상지역 내 중금속 오염농경지 복원을 위해 설계된 안정화 공법에 대한 현장 적용성을 검토하기 위해 현장실증시험을 수행하였다. 대상오염 농경지에 처리구들을 설치하여 오염토양만을 채운 무처리구를 제외한 각 처리구에 중금속 안정화 재료로 선정된 석회석과 산업부산물인 제강슬래그를 각각의 혼합비로 채운 후, 관측기간동안 처리구 내 토양을 채취하여 이화학특성, 중금속농도(Cu, Cd, Pb, Zn, As) 그리고 중금속 분획특성 등을 분석하여 그 특성을 비교하였으며, 그 결과를 수록하였다.

기구를 이용한 골반 압박이 20대의 요통 경험자와 비경험자의 체간 근지구력과 균형 능력에 미치는 영향 비교 (Comparison of the Effects of Pelvic Compression Using Instruments on Trunk Muscle Endurance and Balance Ability in Subjects in Their Twenties With or Without Low Back Pain)

  • Background: Low back pain (LBP) is a representative disease, and LBP is characterized by muscle dysfunction that provides stability to the lumbar spine. This causes physical functional problems such as decreased posture control ability by reducing the muscular endurance and balance of the lumbar spine. Pelvic compression using instruments, which has been used during recent stabilization exercises, focuses on the anterior superior iliac spine of the pelvis and puts pressure on the sacroiliac joint during exercise, making the pelvis more symmetrical and stable. Currently, research has been actively conducted on the use of pelvic compression belts and non-elastic pelvic belts; however, few studies have conducted research on the application effect of pelvic compression using instruments. Objects: This study aimed to investigate whether there is a difference in trunk muscular endurance and dynamic and static balance ability levels by applying pelvic stabilization through a pelvic compression device between the LBP group and the non-LBP group. Methods: Thirty-nine subjects currently enrolled in Daejeon University were divided into 20 subjects with LBP group and 19 subjects without LBP (NLBP group), and the groups were compared with and without pelvic compression. The trunk muscular endurance test was performed with 4 movements, the dynamic balance test was performed using a Y-balance test, and the static balance test was performed using a Wii balance board. Results: There was a significant difference the LBP group and the NLBP group after pelvic compression was applied to all tests (p < 0.05). In the static and dynamic balance ability test after pelvic compression was applied, there was a significant difference in the LBP group than in the NLBP group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: These results show that pelvic compression using instruments has a positive effect on both those with and without LBP and that it has a greater impact on balance ability when applied to those with LBP.

Monitoring and evaluation of provincial classical swine fever immunization implementation with an E2 subunit vaccine in Jeju Island, South Korea

  • Purpose: Accidental vaccination with a live attenuated low-virulence strain of Miyagi (LOM) vaccine led to the reemergence of classical swine fever virus (CSFV) in Jeju province, South Korea in 2014. To control the continual outbreaks of LOM-derived CSFV, the provincial government launched a provincial mass vaccination project using a CSF-E2 subunit vaccine. We conducted this study to assess the herd immunity level and outcomes of E2 vaccine-based immunization in breeding and growing herds on Jeju Island during 2020-2021. Materials and Methods: A large-scale vaccination trial using the Bayovac CSF-E2 vaccine investigated its efficacy in breeding and growing herds under farm application conditions (10 CSFV-affected and three CSFV-naïve swine farms). Results: The level of herd immunity in each farm was classified into three (S1-S3) and six (G1-G6) profiles in breeding and growing herds, respectively. Immunity monitoring revealed a remarkable improvement in the herd immunity status in all farms. The majority (10/13) of farms, including CSFV-free farms, showed the S1G1 immunity profile in 2021, indicating the appropriate implementation of the advised vaccination regime. Moreover, there were significant decreases in Erns seropositivity from 100% to 50% and 25.9% to 4.3% at farm and pig levels, respectively. In particular, all farms were confirmed as CSFV free in the growing-finishing herds. Conclusion: Our large-scale trial demonstrated the effectiveness of the E2 subunit vaccine in establishing herd immunity stabilization and eliminating CSFV circulation in the affected farms and highlighted the need for a provincial vaccination policy to regain the CSF-free status on Jeju Island.

외란토크 추정 및 보상을 이용한 관성안정화 플랫폼의 제어 (Control of Inertially Stabilized Platform Using Disturbance Torque Estimation and Compensation)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 관성안정화 플랫폼에서 보편적으로 사용됐던 PID 제어에 외란관측기를 적용하는 알고리즘 제안한다. 외란관측기 알고리즘을 적용하기 위하여 직접구동 모터로 구동되는 안정화 플랫폼 축의 관성모멘트와 축 마찰 특성을 실험적으로 구하고, 시뮬레이션과 실험결과를 비교하여 정확도를 검증하였다. 또한 차수와 상대차수가 다른 여러 가지 Q-filter 적용실험을 통하여 필터 특성에 따른 시스템의 안정성을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘은 6 자유도 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 차량 모션 인가실험을 통해 이중 PID 제어 루프의 결과와 비교/검증하였다.
