Assessment of organic matter biodegradation and physico-chemical parameters variation during co-composting of lignocellulosic wastes with Trametes trogii inoculation

  • Lignin complexity molecule makes its biodegradation difficult during lignocellulosic wastes composting. So, the improvement of its biodegradation has usually been considered as an objective. This study aimed to determine the impact of Trametes trogii inoculation on organic matter and particularly on lignin and cellulose during green wastes co-composting with olive mill waste water sludge and coffee grounds. Three types of heaps (H1, H2 and H3) were investigated during 180 d. H3 and H2 were inoculated at the beginning of the process (t0) and 120 d later (t120), respectively while H1 was the control. Results showed the absence of pH stabilization in H3 during the first month. Also, in this period we observed a faster degradation of some easily available organic matter in H3 than in the other heaps. After 120 d, a better cellulose decomposition (25.28%) was noticed in H3 than in H1 and H2 (16%). Inoculation during the second fermentation phase induced supplementary lignin degradation in H2 with a percentage of 35% against 23 and 26% for H1 and H3, respectively. For all the runs, a Fourier Transform Infrared analysis showed aliphatic groups' decrease, OH groups' increase and lignin structural modification.

  • 본 논문에서는 불확실성을 포함한 연속시간 비선형 동적 시스템에 대한 퍼지 모델 기반 제어기의 지능형 디지털 재설계를 위한 조직적인 방법을 제안한다. 불확실 비선형 시스템을 표현하기 위해 연속시간 불확실 TS 퍼지 모델이 구성되었다. 안정화와 추적을 위한 퍼지 모델 기반 제어기 설계를 위해 EPDC 기법이 이용되었다. 설계된 연속시간 제어기는 지능형 디지털 재설계 기법을 이용함으로써 이산시간 제어기로 전환되었다. 이 새로운 설계 기법은 퍼지 모델 기반 제어 이론과 불확실성을 가진 비선형 동적 시스템에 대한 진보된 디지털 재설계 기법의 통합을 위한 조직적이고, 효과적인 틀을 제공한다. 마지막으로, 단일 링크 유연 로봇 시스템의 모의 실험을 이용해 개발된 설계 방법의 효용성과 실행 가능성을 입증한다.

푸쉬업플러스와 데드리프트 운동 시 골반압박이 견관절과 요골반부 주위근의 근활성도와 체간 신전근 근력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of External Pelvic Compression on Shoulder and Lumbopelvic Muscle sEMG and Strength of Trunk Extensor During Push Up Plus and Deadlift Exercise)

  • Background: Lumbopelvic stability is highly important for exercise therapy for patients with low back pain and shoulder dysfunction. It can be attained using a pelvic compression belt. Previous studies showed that external pelvic compression (EPC) enhances form closure by reducing sacroiliac joint laxity and selectively strengthens force closure and motor control by reducing the compensatory activity of the stabilizer. In addition, when the pelvic compression belt was placed directly on the anterior superior iliac spine, the laxity of the sacroiliac cephalic joint could be significantly reduced. Objects: This study aimed to compare the effects of EPC on lumbopelvic and shoulder muscle surface electromyography (EMG) activities during push-up plus (PUP) and deadlift (DL) exercise, trunk extensor strength during DL exercise. Methods: Thirty-eight subjects (21 men and 17 women) volunteered to participate in this study. The subjects were instructed to perform PUP and DL with and without the EPC. EMG data were collect from serratus anterior (SA), pectoralis major (PM), erector spinae (ES), and multifidus (MF). Trunk extensor strength were tested in DL exercise. The data were collected during 3 repetitions of all exercise and the mean of root mean square was used for analysis. Results: The EMG activities of the SA and PM were significantly increased in PUP with pelvic compression as compared with PUP without pelvic compression (p<.05). In DL exercise, a significant improvement in trunk extensor strength was observed during DL exercise with pelvic compression (p<.05). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that lumbopelvic stabilization reinforced with external pelvic compression may be propitious to strengthen PUP in more-active SA and PM muscles. Applying EPC can improve the trunk extensor strength during DL exercise. Our study shows that EPC was beneficial to improve the PUP and DL exercise efficiency.

인공지반을 적용한 사교하는 사면에서의 터널 갱구부 설계 (The design of outlet in inter-cross slope with tunnel which it applied forming artificial ground)

  • The tunnel type spillways is under construction to increasing water reservoir capacity in Dae-am dam. The tunnel outlet was planned to be made after installing slope stabilization system on natural slope there. Generally, the tunnel outlet is made perpendicularly to the slope, but in this case, it had to be made obliquely to the slope for not interrupting flow of river. Because of excavation in condition of natural slope caused to deflecting earth pressure, the outlet couldn't be made. So, artificial ground made with concrete that it was constructed in the outside of tunnel for producing the arching effect which enables to make a outlet. We were planned tunnel excavation was carried out after artificial ground made. Artificial ground made by poor mix concrete of which it was planned that the thickness was at least 3.0m height from outside of tunnel lining and 30cm of height per pouring. Spreading and compaction was planned utilized weight of 15 ton roller machine. In order to access of working truck, slope of artificial ground was designed 1:1.0 and applied 2% slope in upper pert of it for easily drainage of water. In addition to, upper pert of artificial ground was covered with soil, because of impaction of rock fall from upper slope was made minimum. The tunnel excavation of the artificial ground was designed application with special blasting method that it was Super Wedge and control blasting utilized with pre-percussion hole.

Regulated Peak Power Tracking (RPPT) System Using Parallel Converter Topologies

  • Regulated peak power tracking (RPPT) systems such as the series structure and the series-parallel structures are commonly used in satellite space power systems. However, these structures process the solar array power or the battery power to the load through two cascaded regulators during one orbit cycle, which reduces the energy transfer efficiency. Also the battery charging time is increased due to placement of converter between the battery and the solar array. In this paper a parallel structure has been proposed which can improve the energy transfer efficiency and the battery charging time for satellite space power RPPT systems. An analogue controller is used to control all of the required functions, such as load voltage regulation and solar array stabilization with maximum power point tracking (MPPT). In order to compare the system efficiency and the battery charging efficiency of the proposed structure with those of a series (conventional) structure and a simplified series-parallel structure, simulations are performed and the results are analyzed using a loss analysis model. The proposed structure charges the battery more quickly when compared to the other two structures. Also the efficiency of the proposed structure has been improved under different modes of solar array operation when compared with the other two structures. To verify the system, experiments are carried out under different modes of solar array operation, including PPT charge, battery discharge, and eclipse and trickle charge.

Comparion of stability in titanium implants with different surface topographies in dogs

  • STATEMENT OF PROBLEM. A few of studies which compared and continuously measured the stability of various surface treated implants in the same individual had been performed. PURPOSE. We aim to find the clinical significance of surface treatments by observing the differences in the stabilization stages of implant stability. MATERIAL AND METHODS. Eight different surface topographies of dental implants were especially designed for the present study. Machined surface implants were used as a control group. 4 nano-treated surface implants(20 nm $TiO_2$ coating surface, heat-treated 80 nm $TiO_2$ coating surface, CaP coating surface, heat treated CaP coating surface) and 3 micro-treated surface implants [resorbable blast media(RBM) surface, sandblast and acid-etched(SAE) surface, anodized RBM surface] were used as experiment groups. All 24 implants were placed in 3 adult dogs. $Periotest^{(R)}$ & ISQ values measured for 8 weeks and all animals were sacrificed at 8 weeks after surgery. Then the histological analyses were done. RESULTS. In PTV, all implants were stabilized except 1 failed implants. In ISQ values, The lowest stability was observed at different times for each individual. The ISQ values were showed increased tendency after 5 weeks in every groups. After 4 to 5 weeks, the values were stabilized. There was no statistical correlation between the ISQ values and PTV. In the histological findings, the bone formation was observed to be adequate in general and no differences among the 8 surface treated implants. CONCLUSIONS. In this study, the difference in the stability of the implants was determined not by the differences in the surface treatment but by the individual specificity.

Energy Storage Application Strategy on DC Electric Railroad System using a Novel Railroad Analysis Algorithm

  • There is an increasing interest in research to help overcome the energy crisis that has been focused on energy storage applications in various parts of power systems. Energy storage systems are good at enhancing the reliability or improving the efficiency of a power system by creating a time gap between the generation and the consumption of power. As a contribution to the various applications of storage devices, this paper describes a novel algorithm that determines the power and storage capacity of selected energy storage devices in order to improve upon railroad system efficiency. The algorithm is also demonstrated by means of simulation studies for the Korean railroad lines now in service. A part of this novel algorithm includes the DC railroad powerflow algorithm that considers the mobility of railroad vehicles, which is necessary because the electric railroad system has a distinct distribution system where the location and power of vehicles are not fixed values. In order to derive a more accurate powerflow result, this algorithm has been designed to consider the rail voltage as well as the feeder voltage for calculating the vehicle voltage. By applying the resultant control scheme, the charging or discharging within a specific voltage boundary, energy savings and a substation voltage stabilization using storage devices are achieved at the same time.

Effect of Kaolin on Arsenic Accumulation in Rice Plants (Oryza Sativa L.) Grown in Arsenic Contaminated Soils

  • The As accumulation in part of roots, shoots, husks and grains of rice plants was significantly decreased with the increasing dosage of kaolin addition from 0.5% to 10% w/w. Kaolin addition could reduce As accumulation in rice plants, which mainly could be attributed to the formation of stable crystalline Al oxides bound As that decreased the available As in soil with decreased As accumulation in rice plants. The pH values of the soils did not change significantly when amended with kaolin. The pH values of the soils was neural that proper to adsorb of arsenic with $Al_2O_3$. Arsenic tends to adsorb with $Al_2O_3$ at acid neutral pH and with desorbing at alkaline pH. The dry weight of rice plant was significantly increased with the increasing dosage of kaolin addition from 2.5% to 10% w/w. The highest dry weight of rice plants was 6.67 g/pot achieved at kaolin addition of 10% w/w with about 13% increasing over the control, which was probably attributed to the highest As concentration formation with kaolin at this dosage. The results of this study indicated that kaolin has the potential to reduce As accumulation in rice plants and enhance the dry weight of rice plants.

멀티미디어디자인에서 정보디자인 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Information Design in Multimedia Design)

  • 정보디자인 원리는 1970년대의 출판디자인을 포함한 그래픽디자인 분야에서 비롯되었으나, 리처드 솔 워먼(Richard Saul Wurman)이 인터넷 환경에서 정보디자인과 그것의 실질적인 적용에 관한 문제를 탐구하면서부터 현재와 같이 정보디자인이 멀티미디어디자인 영역에서 매우 중요한 위치를 차지하기에 이르렀다. 그러나 아직까지도 멀티미디어디자인상에서 정보디자인 개념의 정체성 확보를 위한 이렇다할만한 연구가 부족한 실정이며, 경우에 따라선 과거 그래픽디자인 분야에서 정의되었던 ‘정보의 재현 및 시각화’라는 측면으로 대단히 협의적 관점에서 정보디자인을 조망하는 경향이 나타나고 있다. 이와 같은 맥락에서 본 연구는 과거의 전통적 정보디자인과 대비되는 상대적 관점으로 현재의 멀티미디어디자인에서 정보디자인 특성을 고찰하였다. 연구결과로서 멀티미디어디자인에서 정보디자인 특성은 '컨텍스트 제공과 정보 위계 발견', '통합적 사고에 의한 접근과 정보 통제권 공유', '다차원 매체 활용과 컨텐트 중심', '정보 질 보장과 통합적 정보 의미 해석', '쌍방향 정보 표출과 사용자 지식 확장'의 크게 5가지 측면으로 제시하였다. 본 연구를 토대로 향후에는 인터페이스디자인, 상호작용디자인, 경험디자인과 같은 정보디자인 인접분야와의 상호 의존적 또는 배타적 특성에 대한 담론이 제시될 수 있기를 기대한다.

산화철의 품질 안정화 (A Study on th Quality Stabilization of Iron Oxide)

  • 냉연공장의 산회수 설비로부터 제조되는 소프트 페라이트용 산화철의 품질편차를 감소시키기 위한 연구로서, 품질편차 원인분석, 산회수 조업조건 및 산화철 성분분석, 그리고 산화철의 품질변화를 조사하고 이로부터 도출된 산화철 품질편차 최소화를 위한 적정 조업 pattern을 확립하였다. 산화철의 품질편차를 감소시키기 위해서는 산화철의 원료가 되는 폐산의 발생, 즉 산세처리 대상재인 강종의 구분과 발생 폐산의 분리저장 및 분리운전이 필요하였다. 폐산의 분리, 운전조업 및 생성 산화철의 분리, 저장으로 $SiO_2$함량 약 80ppm, 편차 $\pm$ 10 ppm 이하의 산화철을 제조할 수 있었다. 추가필터 설치의 운영에 따라 산화철의 품질편차 감소뿐만 아니라 고순도 산화철의 생산도 가능할 것으로 예상되었다.
