The use of ferrocement in the construction of squat grain silos

  • In this study, an investigation is made from the statics and economic aspects of the possibility of using the composite material ferrocement on the surfaces of squat cylindrical grain silos. For this purpose, the geometry of two model silos, each of height 5 m and diameter 5 m and 12.5 m, was designed. Five different reinforced plates of 10 and 20 mm thickness were produced to research the most suitable ferrocement plates to be used on the surface of these silos. Most durable reinforcement type for covering the silo surface was determined by pressure and bending tests. Grade 30 and Grade 55 steel plates were also considered for use in covering steel-coated silos. In the statics analysis performed with SAP2000, the least plate thicknesses needed for silos surfaced with Grade 30 and Grade 55 steel were found to be 6.20 mm and 4.70 mm respectively for silos of diameter 5 m, and 6.70 mm and 5.00 mm for silos of diameter 12.5 m. In the economic analysis, it was found that 20 mm thick Type 4 (with a wire diameter of 0.30 mm and a mesh aperture of $2mm{\times}2mm$ square type) reinforced ferrocement surfacing material was 5.6-6.1 times more economical than Grade 30 steel surfacing material and 4.4-4.7 times more economical than using Grade 55 steel. These results show that ferrocement can be used in place of steel from the point of view both of statics and economy.

ZTO/Ag/ZTO 다층 투명 전극 및 이를 이용한 투명 트랜지스터 특성 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 Zinc Tin Oxide (ZTO)/Ag/ZTO 다층 투명 전극을 제작하고 이를 비정질 ZTO (a-ZTO) 채널을 기반으로 한 TFT에 적용하여 투명 TFT의 전기적 특성을 확인하였다. 15${\times}$15 mm 크기의 ITO (gate)/Glass 기판상에 ALD법으로 투명 $Al_2O_3$절연층을 형성하고, RF sputtering법으로 50nm 두께의 a-ZTO 채널층을 형성하였다. 열처리를 위하여 Hot plate를 이용해 대기 중에서 $300^{\circ}C$의 온도로 20분간 열처리하여 채널 특성을 최적화 하였다. 이후 투명 Source/Drain으로 ZTO/Ag/ZTO 다층 투명 전극을 DC/RF sputtering법으로 패터닝하여 투명 TFT를 완성하였고, 평가를 위해 금속 (Mo)을 Source/Drain으로 사용한 TFT를 제작하여 그 성능을 비교하였다. ZTO/Ag/ZTO 다층 투명 전극은 Ag의 삽입으로 인하여 3.96ohm/square의 매우 낮은 면저항과 $3.24{\times}10-5ohm-cm$의 비저항을 나타내었으며, Antireflection 효과에 의해 가시광선 영역 (400~600 nm)에서 86.29%의 투과율을 나타내었다. ZTO/Ag/ZTO 다층 투명 전극 기반 투명 TFT는 $6.80cm^2/V-s$의 이동도와 $8.2{\times}10^6$$I_{ON}/I_{OFF}$비를 나타내어 금속 Source/Drain 전극에 준하는 특성을 나타내었다. 뿐만 아니라 전체 소자의 투과도 또한 ~73.26% 수준을 나타내어 투명 TFT용 Source/Drain 전극으로서 ZTO/Ag/ZTO 다층 투명 전극의 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 2차원 초음속 공동유동에서 발생하는 압력진동을 제어하기 위하여 수치해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 본 계산에서는 압력진동을 제어하기 위하여 보조공동의 형상을 변화시켰으며, 유동의 마하 수를 1.50, 1.83 그리고 2.50로 변화시켰다. 그 결과, 보조공동은 압력진동을 상당히 감소시켰으며, 압력진동의 제어효과는 유동의 마하수와 보조공동의 상세형상에 크게 의존함을 알았다.

Progressive failure of symmetrically laminated plates under uni-axial compression

  • The objective of this work is to predict the failure loads, associated maximum transverse displacements, locations and the modes of failure, including the onset of delamination, of thin, flat, square symmetric laminates under the action of uni-axial compression. Two progressive failure analyses, one using Hashin criterion and the other using Tensor polynomial criteria, are used in conjunction with the finite element method. First order shear deformation theory and geometric nonlinearity in the von Karman sense have been employed. Five different types of lay-up sequence are considered for laminates with all edges simply supported. In addition, two boundary conditions, one with all edges fixed and other with mixed boundary conditions for $(+45/-45/0/90)_{2s}$ quasi-isotropic laminate have also been considered to study the effect of boundary restraints on the failure loads and the corresponding modes of failure. A comparison of linear and nonlinear results is also made for $({\pm}45/0/90)_{2s}$ quasi-isotropic laminate. It is observed that the maximum difference between the failure loads predicted by various criteria depend strongly on the laminate lay-ups and the flexural boundary restraints. Laminates with clamped edges are found to be more susceptible to failure due to the transverse shear and delamination, while those with the simply supported edges undergo total collapse at a load slightly higher than the fiber failure load.

  • 타공 구조물은 음파의 에너지를 감소시키는 특성을 가지고 있어 무향실의 벽에 많이 이용되고 있다. 음원으로부터 발생한 음파가 타공판을 통과할 때 타공판의 작은 구멍을 통해 강한 제트가 형성되어 점성에 의한 박리가 일어나 음파 에너지의 일부분이 열에너지로 소멸된다. 타공판의 작은 구멍을 통과하면서 발생하는 물리적 현상은 음향학 분야에서 많은 연구가 이뤄졌다. 타공판의 앞뒤의 음압(Acoustic Pressure)의 차이를 속도에 제곱에 비례하는 항력항(Drag Term)과 가속도에 비례하는 관성항(Inertia Term)의 합으로 표현하였고, 각 항에 포함된 계수들을 실험이나 간단한 계산을 통하여 구하는 방법을 제시하였다.

  • Electromagnetic wave absorbers for anechoic chamber are needed to broaden the useful frequency bandwidth, reduce the thickness, and decrease the weight. There are various absorbers proposed for the above conditions, but they could not decisively solve it the alone requirements. The Electromagnetic wave absorber made by a conventional ferrite tile has, for example, broadened the useful frequency bandwidth by the way of forming air layer(practically use urethane foam, etc.) on the ferrite tile. Therefore, an air layer is formed between a reflection plate and a sintered Ni-Zn ferrite tile of 7 mm in thickness, which has reflectivity less than -20 dB from 30 MHz to 600 MHz in bandwidth. Accordingly, in this paper, a broadened electromagnetic wave absorber will be designed, which has the reflection characteristics less than -20 dB from 30 MHz to 6000 MHz in the bandwidth. Then we will design a super broadband electromagnetic wave absorber by inserting square Ferrite Cylinders Type with the thickness less than 11 m and with the frequency band from 30 MHz to 6000 MHz under the above tolerance limits. The purpose of this research is on the development of a universal anechoic chamber for measuring radiated electromagnetic wave or immunity of electronic equipments, GTEM-cell, wall material for prevention TV ghost, etc.

적층된 복합소재 경사판의 기하학적 비선형 동적 거동에 미치는 매개변수 영향 (Parametric effects on geometrical nonlinear dynamic behaviors of laminated composite skew plates)

  • 본 연구는 복합소재로 구성된 적층 경사판의 비선형 동적 거동을 분석한다. 1차 전단 변형 판이론에 기반하여, 비선형 동적 방정식의 해는 Newmark 방법과 Newton-Raphson 반복법을 혼용하여 적용하여 산정하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 유한요소 해석프로그램을 사용하여 개구부의 크기 또는 판의 경사각, 그리고 적층 배열의 변화가 판의 기하학적 비선형 거동에 미치는 영향을 상세 분석하였다. 몇 가지 수치해석 결과는 기존 연구자로부터 얻어진 결과와 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 새로운 결과는 경사 적층 구조의 중앙 개구부의 크기 또는 판의 경사각도, 그리고 적층 배열과의 중요한 상호관계를 보여준다. 몇 가지 수치예제는 개구부를 갖는 적층 판구조를 설계하는데 필요한 가이드라인을 제시하였다.

  • The Direct Metal Prototyping(DMP), one of the rapid prototyping technologies, allows the manufacturing of three-dimensional metallic parts using metal powders directly from the CAD data. Laser power and scanning speed are the most important variables of the process. The objective of this study is to obtain the design data for laser power and scanning speed to bond metal powders effectively using the finite element method. To obtain the design values, a numerical analysis considering two-dimensional heat transfer during the sintering of metal powder layers of the process was performed. The laser beam has been modeled to have directionality in its heat flux distribution, i. e., in the scanning direction a Gaussian beam mode distribution has been assumed and in the thickness direction a square beam mode distribution. The three-dimensional irregular distribution of metal powders of the powder layer is idealized as two-dimensional distribution in which metal powders are located regularly and periodically on the plate. In this study the design values of laser power vs scanning speed have been obtained. Temperature distribution and temperature variation of the powder layers with respect to time have been predicted. The commputed dsign data will be useful in determining the initial conditions of the process.

열전달 촉진 표면에서 R1234yf의 풀 비등 열전달계수 (Pool Boiling Heat Transfer Coefficients of R1234yf on Various Enhanced Surfaces)

  • In this work, nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) of R134a and R1234yf are measured, on flat plain, 26 fpi low fin, Turbo-B, Turbo-C and Thermoexcel-E surfaces. All data are taken at the liquid pool temperature of $7^{\circ}C$, on a small square copper plate ($9.53mm{\times}9.53mm$), at heat fluxes from $10kW/m^2$ to $200kW/m^2$, with an interval of $10kW/m^2$. Test results show that nucleate boiling HTCs of all enhanced surfaces are greatly improved, as compared to that of a plain surface. Nucleate pool boiling HTCs of R1234yf are very similar to those of R134a, for the five surfaces tested.

소성 이방성이 박판의 주름 발생에 미치는 영향 (The effect of plastic anisotropy on wrinkling behavior of sheet metal)

  • The wrinkling behavior of a thin sheet with perfect geometry is a kind of compressive instability. The compressive instability is influenced by many factors such as stress state mechanical properties of the sheet material geometry of the body contact conditions and plastic anisotropy. The analysis of compressive instability in plastically deforming body is difficult considering all the factors because the effects of the factors are very complex and the instability behavior may show wide variation for small deviation of the factors. In this study the bifurcation theory is introduced for the finite element analysis of puckering initiation and growth of a thin sheet with perfect geometry. All the above mentioned analysis and the post-bifurcation behavior is analyzed by introducing the branching scheme proposed by Riks. The finite element formulation is based on the incremental deformation theory and elastic-plastic material modeling. in order to investigate the effect of plastic anisotropy on the compressive instability a square plate that is subjected to compression in one direction and tension in the other direction is analyzed by the above-mentionedfinite element analysis. The critical stress ratios above which the buckling does not take place are found for various plastic anisotropic modeling method and discussed. Finally the effect of plastic anisotropy on the puckering behavior in the spherical cup deep drawing process is investigated.
