Mg 합금 온간 판재 성형시 공정 변수의 영향에 관한 연구 (An Effect on the Process Parameter of Mg Alloy at Warm Sheet Forming)

  • Since the sheet metal forming of Mg alloy is performing at elevated temperature, the effect of process conditions related with the forming temperature is very important factor. Therefore, the investigation for process variables is necessary to design the tools and process conditions. In this study, the effects of process variables were studied by the experimental and FE analysis using the square cup deep drawing. The temperature, forming speed, and lubricant condition were investigated. When forming temperature was $250^{\circ}C$, speed forming was low, and teflon sheet was used as lubricant, the formed parts were good without defects.

  • One-step inverse methods based on deformation theory causes some amount of error. The amount of error is generally increased as the deformation path is more complex. As a remedy, a new three dimensional multi-step inverse method is introduced for optimum design of blank shapes and strain distributions from desired final shapes. The approach extends a one-step inverse method to a multi-step inverse method in order to reduce the amount of error. The algorithm developed is applied to square cup drawing to confirm its validity by demonstrating reasonably accurate numerical results.

박판의 덥 드로잉 성형을 위한 수치제어 쿠션 시스팀의 개발 (Development of Numerically Controlled Cushion System for Use in Deep Drawing of Sheet Metals)

  • It is well known, for many years, that deep drawability can be improved by applying variable blank holding force. To apply variable blank holding force during cup drawing, we set up cushion pressure control system on the hydraulic press, and the pressure control system is often called NC(Numerically Controlled) cushion system. A cushion pressure control experiment was carried out using the NC cushion and it was shown that the proposed system produced good performance. The comparison of drawability of square cups with and without NC cushion showed that the drawability could be greatly improved when S-shaped pressure curve was applied. This paper includes design details of the NC cushion system and experimental analysis of drawability with NC cushion system.

  • A sectional FEA program is developed lot analyzing forming processes of sandwich sheets, which are intensively used recently as a lightweight material of an automobile body. The aluminum sandwich sheet consists of two aluminum skins and a polyprophylen core in between. The aluminum sandwich sheet is dominantly effected by the bending effects in small radius of curvature, so that an appropriate description of bending effects is required to analyze the forming processes. For the evaluation of bending effects, the bending equivalent forces are calculated from the bending moment computed using the curvature of the tool and are added to the membrane stretch forces. To verify the validity of the developed program the sectional FEA results in stretch/draw forming Processes of a square cup and draw forming Processes of an outer hood panel were compared with the measurements.

  • Warm deep drawing for optimum forming conditions to give the maximum drawing depth is investigated and compared with the results at room temperature. Experiments which draw square cups of STS 304 stainless steel sheet under the constant lubrication condition of teflon film made both in a crank and hydrqulic press for two kinds of specimens . The maximum drawing depth at warm forming condition reaches 1.4 times the drawing depth at room temperature in a crank press, whereas 1.6 times in a hydrqulic press, and also more uniform distribution of thickness in case of warm deep drawn cup is observed. The effects of other factors on formability , such as forming temperature, speed of press and cooling of punch are examinnied and discussed.

  • It is well known, for many years, that deep drawability ,can be improved by applying variable blank holding force. Using the NC cushion system we carry out pressure control experiment and the proposed structure shows good performance. And we compare drawability of square steel cups with NC cushion and that with conventional cushion. The results show drawability is greatly improved when the pressure control curve is designed in a S-shaped curve. This paper includes design details of the NC cushion system and experimental analysis of drawability with experimental NC cushion system.

Characteristics of the Warm Deep Drawability of a Transformation-Induced Plasticity Steel Sheet

  • Warm deep drawability in a square cup drawing was investigated using a newly developed high-strength steel sheet with retained austenite that was transformed into martensite during formation. For this investigation, six different temperatures between room temperature and 250℃, and five different drawing ratios ranging from 2.2 to 2.6 were considered. The results showed that the maximum drawing force and the drawing depth were affected by the change in temperature, and a more stable thickness strain distribution was observed at elevated temperatures. However, blue shortness occurred at over 200℃. FEM analysis using the LS-DYNA code was used to compare the experimental results with the numerical results for the thickness strain distribution.

  • Design of a weld line in a tailor welded blank is indispensable for good manufacturing of stamped parts as assigned, since the intial weld line is distorted severely with forming. The initial weld line has to be determined such that desired weld line in a formed part can be obtained. The initial weld line was predicted by inverse finite element analysis from the desired weld line in a formed part. The inverse approach is applied to the cylindrical and square cup drawing with tailor welded blanks. The applications demonstrates that the approach is useful for design of weld line of tailor welded blank.

  • The sectional forming analysis of stamping pocesses for aluminum alloy sheet metals was investigated. For the modeling of the anomalous behavior of aluminum alloy sheet. the Barlat's strain rate potential and Hill's 1990 non-quadratic yield theory with an isotropic hardening rule were employed. The rigid-viscoplastic FEM formulation which solves equilibrium equation for plane-strain stage with mesh-normal geometric constraints was derived. A new method to determine the Barlat's anisotropic coefficients was also suggested. To verify the validity of the formulation, the stretch and draw forming processes of a square cup were simulated.
