  • This paper deals with the design of vaccum pump using moving magnet type linear oscillaory actuator based on the design procedure and the characteristic analysis. To improve the starting characteristic, the optimum spring constant is detected and redesigned. The parameter was calculated by Finite Element Method(FEM). In order to dynamic characteristic analysis, Time difference method with voltage and kinetic equation is used. The propritey of the improved model is verified through the experimental.

  • Seismic forces for member design of bridges may be determined by modifying elastic member forces induced by design earthquakes using appropriate response modification factors according to national design code of bridges. Modeling of soil/foundation system is one of the critical parameter in the process of elastic seismic analysis of bridge system which greatly affects on the analysis results. In this paper, a simplified modelling procedure of soil/foundation system which gives practically reasonable results is presented and its applicability has been validated through example bridge. Based on the results, it has been shown that the procedure is acceptable in modelling soil/foundation system for practical seismic analysis of bridges.

  • Because of kinematic complexities, nonlinear behavior, etc, the performance of oleo-pneumatic landing gear is predicted by qualified commercial softwares. While commercial softwares predict more exactly, it takes a long time to construct or modify a model. At initial design stage, design parameters can be determined quickly and exactly enough with simple 2 degree of freedom model of mass, spring and damping. 2 degree of freedom model can be easily applied to optimization and reliability analysis which takes repetitive computation. In this paper, oleo-pneumatic landing gear is modeled as a nonlinear 2 degree of freedom model. The analysis are compared with landing gear drop test. To determine design parameter, optimization problem is solved with genetic algorithm and 2 degree of freedom model.

퍼지 논리를 이용한 슬라이딩 모드 제어기의 인자 자동 튜닝

  • Sliding mode control guarantees robustness in the presence of modeling uncertainties and external disturbances. However, this can be obtained at the cost of high control activity that may lead to chattering As one way to alleviate this problem a boundary layer around sliding surface is typically used. In this case the selection of controller gain, control ban width and boundary layer thickness is a crucial problem for the trade-off between tracking error and chattering. The parameter tuning is usually done by trail-and-error in practice causing significant effort and time. An auto tuning method based on fuzzy rules is proposed in the paper in this method tracking error and chattering are monitored by performance indices and the controller tunes the design parameters intelligently in order to compromise both indices. To demonstrate the efficiency of the propose method a mass-spring translation system and a roboic control system are simulated and tested It is shown that the proposed algorithm is effective to facilitae the parameter tuning for sliding mode controllers.

전자기 제어 밸브를 위한 벨로우즈의 기계적 거동에 관한 연구 (Analysis of the Mechanical Behavior of Bellows for Electromagnetic Control Valve)

  • 본 연구는 금속 주름관, 내부 스프링, 금속마개 등으로 구성된 소형 벨로우즈 세트의 거동에 대하여 연구하였다. 벨로우즈는 자동차용 에어컨의 제어를 위한 전자기제어밸브의 핵심 부품으로써 기계적 하중과 외부 압력에 대하여 민감하고 정확하게 작동하여야 한다. 벨로우즈 설계 인자 도출을 위하여, 소형 인장시험기를 이용하여 벨로우즈 내부 스프링의 스프링 상수를 측정하고, 벨로우즈 세트의 하중-변위 선도를 측정하였다. 내부 스프링의 하중-변위 관계는 선형관계를 나타내었다. 벨로우즈 세트의 하중-변위 관계는 변위가 작을 때는 낮은 기울기를 가지고 하중이 증가하다가 이후 선형으로 증가하는 특성을 나타내었다. 실측 결과를 바탕으로 유한요소해석을 수행하여 외부 주름관의 유효 물성을 도출하고 유한요소 모델링을 확보하였다. 원통형의 형상을 고려하여 축대칭 모델을 적용하였으며, 주름관은 쉘 요소를 적용하였다. 확보한 모델을 활용하여 냉매 압력에 따른 벨로우즈의 거동에 대한 연구를 수행하였다.

심리음향의 음질요소를 이용한 레이저 프린터 급지 이음 평가 및 부품 조합 최적화 (Identification of Pick up Sound for Laser printers Based on Psychoacoustic Parameters)

  • This paper identifies a cause of pick up noise in a laser printer and a relationship between pick up noise and major components related to pick up noise. A pick up sound is affected by many components such as spring force, spring constant, and friction coefficient. Objective evaluation for the pick up sound is difficult because of back ground sound such as operating sound. Especially, a sound between a friction pad and a paper in the process of printing has become an essential issue in an aspect of quality evaluation. However the existing criteria for determining the above sound have solely relied on human's subjective judgments; which highlights the requirement to objectify these criteria. In this paper, the standard of existing pick up noise is established by finding the tonality, which is a psychoacoustic parameter, of noticeable limit sound level. Based on the findings of the method, the study has found factors which cause pick up noise and suggests the substitution of following components of printers such as spring constants, spring force, and the quality of friction pads. As a result, it is confirmed that the proposed pick up noise index has usefulness to classify whether existence of pick up noise with an objective evaluation and not to occur the noise based on design optimized combination of laser printer components.

  • This paper deals with the performance evaluation of piezoelectric unimorph actuator. In the unimorph design, the thickness ratio of substrate to piezoelectric material and the elastic modulus ratio of substrate to piezoelectric material are important parameters. There exists only one structural configuration that satisfies the optimal condition among them, and actuators using that configuration exhibit better actuating displacements. Another design parameter is the piezoelectric coefficient which can be improved due to the induced tensile stress and voltages. The application of the tensile stress to the piezoelectric material makes it get higher piezoelectric coefficient and the total displacement performance of the unimorph actuator is improved. Finally, the piezoelectric actuator system with spring elements is fabricated and it shows higher actuating displacement capability.

  • This paper is concerned with the design of a robust tracking controller using a state observer on a robotic manipulator under the disturbance. The controller is designed to follow a step or ramp reference input without steady state error in the presence of a disturbance and a system parameter variation. In most cases, since all the state vectors are not measured, unmeasurable state vectors must be estimated or reconstructed. A reduced order observer is proposed to estimate unmeasurable state vectors of the non-linear system. Some problems are caused by the Coulomb friction, the disturbance, and the spring effect of a link between the drive motor and the manipulator arm. The state variables, directly measured and estimated by the reduced order observer, are fed back to the controller. When the robot system exhibits the 'limit cycle, the feedback gains initially obtained by optimal control theory are changed. As a result, the limit cycle is eliminated by the new controller gains,

  • In the determination of control laws of semi-active suspension system, optimal control theory is applied, which used in the design of fully active suspension system and in the performance index sense. Optimal semi-active control laws are designed, and the computer program is developed fur estimation of performance In the time and frequency domain. It is certified that in the semi-active control system, it is desirable to minimize the spring constant and damping coefficient as possible in the given constraints. The effect of performance improvement which is almost equal to fully active type is obtained.

  • A vibrational model of powder transfer equipment based on the lumped parameter method was developed, in which the operating motion consists of surging, bouncing, and pitching. After decoupling the equation of motion, the vibrational excitation source of the pitching motion was removed. So the designers are able to plan the optimum design to adjust the motion trajectory of the powder transfer equipment. That is, a procedure to adjust the motion trajectory of powder transfer equipment by changing design specifications such as the installation position, the direction of the motor, the driving speed, the mass unbalance, the stiffness coefficient, and the installation position of the support spring, is presented in this paper. The powder transfer equipment manufactured according to the results of this study did not suffer fatigue destruction, since the maximum stress on the basket structure was sufficiently small.
